and they're finally official! so, they're starting to get domestic and maybe, meeting someone else...
"I want you to meet my best friend," Hermione said, two weeks after their date. "I think it's time you meet already."
They met a little more than a month ago, and they had met every day since the picnic date. Hermione was happier than she had been in a long time, and she wanted to share the reason for her happiness with the world.
"Are you sure about it? I don't know if I'm ready to face your best friend," Fred said, walking beside her on the supermarket's aisle. "What if he doesn't like me?"
Hermione chuckled, thinning adorable that Fred was worried about what Harry would think about him. She knew Harry would find Fred the perfect man for her, but they needed to meet face to face.
"You two are going to get along very well, I just know it." Hermione stopped her cart next to the cereals' shelf. "And I thought, I could meet your twin?"
Fred was very reticent about his family, sharing just tiny bits about it. Hermione was curious about his big family, being an only child and always wished for siblings growing up. She wanted to meet his family and see if they would like her too.
He scratched his neck, not looking at her. "I don't think you should meet George yet, at least, not until you're really sure you want to be with me. I know he can be a ruckus and probably set things on fire."
Hermione smiled at him, even if it felt a little forced. She knew Fred wasn't ashamed of her—more than once she saw him wanting to scream through the roof about their relationship—she just couldn't understand why he was so reluctant to meet her best friend.
"I'll think about it, alright love?" Fred said, kissing her forehead, making Hermione's heart melt. "I'll go grab some of our favourite pink lemonade on the next aisle, alrighty?"
"I knew there was a reason why I accepted going out with you," Hermione said, quickly kissing him on the lips.
Hermione looked dreamily at Fred's disappearing form, before being rudely interrupted.
"Mione! Fancy seeing you here!" Harry called from behind her, coming near her with his basket. "I thought you only shopped here on Saturdays."
"Hey, Harry." Hermione smiled at her best friend, imagining how he would react when he finally met Fred. "I usually do, but Fred was helping me today, so we came here today."
"Really?" Harry widened his eyes. "I'm going to finally meet your beau?"
Hermione blushed at his saying; she couldn't help, she had always been very protective over her relationships, and her relationship with Fred was still very new.
"Shut up, Harry." Hermione laughed before looking around. "He went to grab pink lemonade for us, so he should be coming back soon."
"I'm glad to finally meet the one that stole my best friend's heart." Harry winked at her, before his cellphone rang. "Shit, my mum is calling. Don't go away before introducing me to Fred!"
Hermione nodded at him, smiling brighter than ever. She couldn't wait for the two to meet.
