SORRY ITS TAKEN SO LONG TO GET THIS CHAPTER POSTED. I had a case of writer's block and tried to just concentrate on the series that I'm creating on Tiktok which this story is based on. Thankyou for reading and reviewing it means the world to me :) As usual I don't own the Harry Potter series (I wish I did).

Chapter 6

The weeks progressed without any more incidents and before I knew it the full moon was upon me. On the morning of the first day I woke with an ache in each of my bones and an irritable mood. I waited until I was alone in the dorm before I even attempted to get out of bed. Fred had informed me that we were going to see Hagrid for the majority of the day before it was time to head to the shrieking shack where Remus would meet us. I was nervous like every full moon, but I knew there would be people to help me. After another five minutes I rolled out of bed and opted for casual dress today. As I searched through my drawers for some jeans and a shirt, I noticed another envelope atop them. Once again in that fancy green scrawl lay my name. frowning I picked up the envelope and sat on the edge of my bed opening it and pulling out the parchment that lay with in.

Dear Miss Evans

All of your teachers have been informed that for the next three days you will not be attending classes. I have asked Mr Diggory, Mr Weasley and Miss Tonks to gather any notes that you may need, and they will have them ready for when you start attending again. I am of the understanding that you have now informed of your condition and now have another friend within your house that you can confide in.

Mr. Lupin and Mr. Weasley will meet you in the clocktower courtyard and will escort you to Hagrid's hut. Have no fear Miss Evans I know how you must be feeling having been through this with Mr Lupin before. If you have any concerns at all, please don't be afraid to visit myself or Professor Sprout.

Kind Regards

Professor M. McGonagall.

Yes, I know what you're wondering: I told Cedric. Two days before the full moon I started to get really agitated and Cedric had noticed. After a very lengthy discussion with Fred, George, Charlie and Tonks we decided it would be a good idea for me to tell him, as he was in a few of my classes that the others weren't. He took it relatively well to be honest, no running or screaming. He understood why I had been so secretive about my scars and the story behind them and promised to keep my secret. After that he would walk me to all my classes and keep others from asking about my scars, he became a true friend. Even Fred had started to warm up to him after he saw Cedric shoot down some Slytherin's that were trying to hex me. For the first time since being at Hogwarts I felt protected.

I made my way down to the courtyard making sure to keep to myself and avoiding the few students that were rushing to their classes. George gave me a reassuring pat on the shoulder as I passed by him. As I stepped out into the courtyard, I felt the cool rush of the September air brush against my cheeks. Autumn had always been my favourite time of year, the crunch of the leaves underfoot and the changing colour palette.

"Hey Mickey, over here" I turned to see Fred waving at me, next to him stood a tall, thin man dressed in a tweed suit, his tie hastily tied, and his hair dishevelled. The scars that marked his face didn't affect his bright smile that reached his warm green eyes: Remus Lupin. I felt myself grin as I wandered over to them.

"Uncle Lupin" I exclaimed as I reached them, carefully pulling him into a hug. Remus chuckled and hugged me back before pushing me to arm's length.

"Michelle, my you have grown since I last saw you" His voice was gravely like he hadn't slept enough "You look so much like your mother" I blushed and hugged him again.

"I missed you" I sighed before stepping back to stand next to Fred.

"And I you, Molly has kept me informed of your wellbeing and I must say she has looked after you very well" He smiled again, his eyes shining "she also informs me that Master Weasley here has been tasked with looking after you".

"More like the opposite" I chuckled "Molly asked me to keep an eye on the twins and keep them out of trouble".

"Ah a very wise woman" Remus smiled before reaching into his pocket. He pulled out a bar of milk chocolate offering us both a piece before we began our walk to Hagrid's hut. The hut itself was situated at the bottom of a hill just before the forbidden forest. The circular stone structure looked welcoming compared to the dark looming trees.

"She really is and brave too having to deal with 8 children" Fred chuckled as we made our way down the hill.

"Molly Weasley is a force to be reckoned with" Remus laughed and handed us both another piece of chocolate. He always carried some around in his pocket, his reasoning being chocolate always made you feel better. We laughed and chatted as we made our way down the hill the sky turning a lovely shade of blue.

"Master Weasley, Miss Potter, Mr. Lupin a pleasure to see you all this morning" Hagrid welcomed us with a warm smile as he let us into the hut. A dog the size of a German Shepard came bounding towards us, saliva flying everywhere as it moved.

"Fang! Get back 'ere you silly mutt" Hagrid cried as he tried to wrangle the dog. I could help but laugh and Fang stood on his back legs and put his paws on my shoulders. Remus and Fred started to move towards me, as if the dog was a danger but I waved them off.

"Hi Fang" I laughed, scratching the spot just behind his ear. He gave a small bark before taking his paws off of my shoulders and heading back towards Hagrid.

"You sure 'ave a way with animals Michelle" Hagrid chuckled before offering us all a cup of tea. The day progressed with jokes and banter. Remus reminisced about his time at Hogwarts, sharing prank ideas with Fred. Before long the time came to depart Hagrid's hut and make our way to the Shrieking Shack, so lovingly named due to the howls that emanated from there. Remus started to get more agitated as we drew closer to the Whomping Willow the tree that the tunnel to the shack lay beneath.

"Fred are you absolutely certain you want to come with us?" Remus placed a hand on Fred's shoulder.

"I'm certain Mr Lupin, I may only have been helping Mickey for the last 3 years, but I know I can help" Fred replied matter of factly.

"Very well, just make sure you keep yourself safe" Remus nodded and turned to the willow. He wordlessly cast the spell to render it motionless before making his way into the tunnel. I bit my lip and took a deep breath before following him. This time during the month was one I hated with a passion. Turning into a werewolf is not something to be romanticised, it is brutal and violent. The wolfsbane potion helps only the smallest amount but it doesn't take the pain away.

The dark foreboding light of the tunnel only made the coming events more and more scary. I felt a hand take my own and squeeze slightly as if to reassure me. Looking up I saw the warm pools of chocolate that belonged to my best friend.

"Are you okay Mickey?" Fred voice was calm, almost soothing. I nodded, unable to speak for fear of my voice betraying me. In all truth I was frightened beyond belief. I may have been turning into a werewolf for 6 years, but for an 11 year it is something that they should never have too deal with. I knew that Remus blamed himself for what happened to me, when in all fairness it was my fault for following him.

After a few more minutes of walking we finally reached the shack. The decrepit, inviting walls towered over us as we made our way up the creaky steps. Plaster had been torn from the walls revealing the wooden skeleton that lay beneath. Curtains which once covered the windows now lay torn and dusty. In one of the rooms lay a bed that could have been straight out of a history book. Like everything in the shack it was covered in a layer of dust.

"Its almost time" Remus sighed in a shaky voice, walking over to the window to gaze out into the dusk.

"I'm right here Mickey" Fred placed a kiss on my forehead before pulling me into a hug. He smelt of pine a scent that always reassured me whenever it was near.

As the night began to drawer further in, I could feel the change begin. My muscles tightened and contracted. My bones began to elongate and break as they rearranged. Clutching my head I collapsed to my knees with a cry of agony. The pain was excruciating and not amount of potion could change that. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Fred trying everything to keep calm, out of the other I could see Remus hunched over tearing at his skin.

Then everything went black.

Poor Mickey, she really has a tough time. so in the next chapter there will be a bit of a time jump to keep in line with the Tiktok series. Thank you all for the support and watch this space for the next chapter :)
