Jaden's eyes narrow as the Copy King seems to lean into Dimitri's ear. 'I don't know what he's planning … but I know for certain that he's going to try and over power me.' Jaden contemplates as he glances at Yubel at his shoulder.
'It's possible. There are plenty of strategies he could go with thanks to that ability of his. Not only that he has Yugi's cards.' Jaden nods at this as he looks back at Dimitri's side of the field, finally noticing that Dimitri laid a monster face down and two backrow cards.
"Oh sorry Dimitri. I was thinking of what to do." Jaden manages out, a small blush appearing on his face as he looks over his hand. Jaden pulls a card and smiles. "I summon Elemental Hero Bubbleman to the field in attack mode."
[Elemental Hero Bubbleman Attribute:Water/Type:Warrior

DEF: 1200]
"Now since Bubbleman is the only card on the field I draw two cards." Jaden takes the cards and smiles. "I set one card facedown and then activate Bubble Blaster to effectively double Bubbleman's attack."
ATK: 800 → 1600
"Now Bubbleman strike down his facedown card, Bubble Burst!" Bubbleman raises his gun, aiming it right at the face down card."
Dimitri smiles at that as the card reveals Marshmallon, getting blown to pieces. "Marshmallon's skill activates. First he can't be destroyed by battle, second he deals 1000 damage to my opponent." As the marshmallow like creature gets hit by the various bubbles, each popping and making holes in it. The monster then jumps up a bit, the mouth opening up as it digs into Jaden's shoulder.
Yuki: 4000 → 3000
Jaden scoffs at the damage before Marshmallon reforms itself, sitting in its position. Jaden's frown grows as he rubs his shoulder. 'That actually hurts. Has he already initiated a shadow game?' Jaden then glances at Bubbleman, who gives him an apologetic look as Jaden smiles at him. 'Doesn't matter.'
Jaden throws two cards facedown as he glances back at Dimitri. "Your move, go ahead." Dimitri smiles at that as he pulls his card. Looking over his hand, his smile grows cold as he grabs one. "I summon Copier!"
A designer appears on the field, seeming to be gaunt faced as a board and diagram is next to him. In his hands, he holds a mannequin arm as he looks towards Jaden.
[Copier Attribute:Dark/Type:Spellcaster
Reveal one "Copy" monster in your hand, send a level 5 or lower card with the same type to the graveyard, and special summon that "Copy" monster in attack mode and treat that monster as the discarded one. This card cannot be targeted for attacks as long as there is a "Copy" monster on the field.

The designer looks back to Dimitri as he raises his hand up. "I reveal Copy Samurai! With it I'll send away Jack's Knight to my graveyard and summon it!" Dimitri takes the knight from his deck and places it into the graveyard as he places the Samurai onto the field.
A mannequin appears, the blank helmet and sword in its hands. It takes a more formal stance as the mannequin look melts away to reveal the regal looking knight, his sword shining as he brings it down.

When this monster is summoned, declare a warrior monster who has been played, this monster is treated as that monster. This card gains the stats of the declared monster. Once per turn, discard a "Copy" spell card from your hand to the deck, equip an equip spell card to this monster.

"Now my Samurai destroy his Bubbleman!" Dimitri commands, the copied warrior jumping up, before bringing the sword down on Bubbleman's neck, decapitating the hero. Or at least it would have if it weren't for Bubble Blaster taking the hit, turning to bubbles. Dimitri frowns as the wave of energy slams into Jaden.
Yuki: 3000
"The effect of my Bubble Blaster activates. I can negate the destruction of my monster, and even reduce the damage to zero." Jaden smiles as Bubbleman gives him a thumbs up, looking between the three monsters on the opponent's field.
"Dang, too bad Copier is in defense." Dimitri groans and sets a card facedown. He scans the field and the spectators, his eyes seeming to gloss over Yugi as he smiles at Bastion. "But there's not a lot you can do right now."
Jaden simply groans at that, drawing his next card. Looking over the field some more Jaden grabs a card. "I activate Dark Fusion, and fuse the Burstinatrix and Avian in my hand. Now come forth Evil Hero Inferno Wing." Said monsters appear behind Jaden, a swirling dark vortex appearing as well, the pair jumping in. From the darkness, Evil Hero Inferno Wing jumps forth, her dark wings curled into the air.

Dimitri simply smiles. "I activate Compulsory Evacuation Device. I'll be sending your Inferno Wing right back to the extra deck." Dimitri chuckles as the device shoots out a small orb of light aimed right at the monster. Before it can collide however, Inferno Wing flicks her wing, knocking the orb away and into the ocean.
"Oh did I forget to mention the fused monster is unaffected by card effects." Jaden smiles at that. "I now sacrifice Bubbleman to summon Malicious Edge, and before you ask Edge's ability allows me to summon him with only one sacrifice." Jaden smirks at this before motioning at Inferno Wing. "Destroy his Copy Samurai."
Inferno Wing growls happily at that, the she demon jumps into the air, fire burning in her hands. As she brings them down, the flames crush the knight through and through.
Dimitri: 4000 → 3800
"And now my Inferno Wing's effect. Time for you to be burned from your monster's attack!" Inferno Wing spreads her wings at her king's command, a dark wind pulsing down and burning at Dimitri. The latter groans, the smell of burning in the air.
Dimitri: 3800 → 1900
"End the duel Malicious! Attack Marshmallon." Malicious Edge chuckles as he leaps into the air, his sharpened claw going to pierce the marshmallow monster.
"No, Kuriboh! Protect me, my friend." Dimitri discards the small fiend monster, which gets in between Malicious Edge's blade and Marshmallon, being torn to shreds.
"Sorry Kuriboh." Jaden sighs and smirks. "Good job though. For a second, I was sure I got you. I set two cards and end my turn."
Dimitri groans, seemingly not noticing the burns.
With the rest of the crowd, Yugi's eyes narrow. "'Protect me, my friend?' that's my card not his." a small growl emanating from Yugi's throat.
"You have a strange connection with that floating brown ball Yugi." A dark, cold sounding voice comes behind the group as Yugi looks over his shoulders.
"He's a good friend. On that side, his ability can trounce your monsters, Kaiba."
….

…
"WHAT?!" The kids in the group jump and look over at the one and only Seto Kaiba. His eyes narrowed and cold as he looked at the ongoing duel, a strange look of wind in the air.
"Though I must say it's strange how quickly he can use your deck."
Yugi nods at that with a sigh. "It could be because of the duel spirit that he's been forced to have."
"Always some strange magic when I'm around you." Kaiba lets out a loud sigh as the kids get over the shock of not only having the King of Games, but also his eternal rival, right there. "From what I'm seeing it's still a fairly even duel."
"Wh-why are you here Mr. Kaiba?" Bastion manages out, his over analytical mind going on overdrive.
Kaiba gives Bastion a small side eye, looking him up and down. "Simple. An exhibition match to get the school excited and ready to see Yugi's deck. Didn't expect this." Kaiba's eyes go over everyone, before landing on Alexis. He stares at her for a couple seconds before looking at the duel again.
Alexis looks confused for a second as Yugi chuckles. "I think you just got approval."
"What?" Alexis jumps at Yugi's voice, everyone other than Kaiba looking at her.
Back at the duel, Dimitri activated Swords of Revealing Light, and set two cards and a monster facedown. Jaden had set a card facedown and set a monster. It is now Dimitri's turn.
"I draw." He then smiles as he reveals a monster. "I sacrifice my Copier and my facedown monster to summon my ally, Dark Magician!" Once again, Yugi scoffs, which causes Kaiba to chuckle.
"Seems like he's trying to be you."
Jaden looks confused, his eyes narrowing. 'Why would he simply summon Dark Magician?' Dimitri then sets another card as he passes his turn off.
"Draw." Jaden looks over his hand, not managing to draw a card to destroy the Swords. He then summons a card face down. Jaden then passes his turn 'One more'.
Dimitri pulls his card and smiles widely. "I activate Card Destruction. Both of us put our hands into the graveyard, and then redraw the same amount of cards." And that's just what he did, Jaden following his example. Dimitri's smile grows more as he looks dead at Jaden. "I banish 1 Dark monster and 1 Light monster from my graveyard. Come forth knight of chaos, Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning!"
The blue, gold and red knight appears, cutting what almost could be called the dimension wall. Black Luster Soldier (BLS from this point on) stands there, his eyes scanning the area, surprise on his face as he turns to look at Dimitri.

"Now I then banish three copy cards from the graveyard." Dimitri commands, causing Jaden's eyes narrow. "Arise the Copy King! Take the form of BLS!" Both Dark Magician and BLS look on in a kinda state of shock as Copy King transforms, his mannequin like state melting away.
"Ah. It is time. Let us destroy the Supreme King!" CK calls out in victory.
"First BLS, destroy his Inferno Wing! Chaos Edge!" the knight frowns at this, though complies with the demand. He jumps up, his blade shining.
"Go Negate Attack!" The swirling vortex appears, blocking his blade. Dimitri scoffs at this as the CK's eyes glow.
"I activate my ability! Or should I say BLS's ability. I now banish Malicious Edge!" CK holds up his sword, a spark of black/gold lightning shoots out from it, crashing into Malicious.
Jaden winces at that, taking Edge's card. "Know this Supreme King, you may have spared yourself some damage, but you will not survive next." CK announces an edge of pride in his voice.
Jaden now draws, his eyes narrowing. 'After this turn, I'll be able to attack again. The thing is, if I remember correctly … BLS can attack twice after destroying a monster.' Jaden groans inwardly. "I set a monster facedown in defense mode, and switch Evil Hero Inferno Wing to defense as well. It's your turn Dimitri." As he says that, the Swords flicker for a few seconds before they vanish. Jaden smiles grimly at that.
Dimitri smiles happily, pulling his next card. "Alright Copy King, destroy Evil Hero Inferno Wing."
"Wrong, activate facedown, Evil Barrier, I negate your attack on an Evil Hero." Jaden manages out as CK's sword collides into the barrier of spinning blades. Inferno Wing looks up at him and sticks her tongue out.
"Wench." CK lands back on his side of the field. "BLS destroy that impudent 'Hero'." BLS looks shocked at CK, his eyes narrowing.
"I see, so it's this kind of situation." BLS groans before hopping up, his sword slashing through Inferno Wing's chest. "I'm sorry."
"Not ... your … fault." She fades away, as BLS stands back up.
"Now BLS destroy one of his facedown cards." Dimitri commands, causing BLS to turn to one of the facedowns. He then swings his sword down, cutting the monster in half.
"I now reveal my facedown, Evil Hero Thieving Shadow! When this monster is destroyed by battle, I can activate or add a card from your graveyard to my hand. I think I'll activate Swords of Revealing Light!"

When this card is destroyed by battle or card effect, you can add or activate one Spell/Trap card from the opponent's graveyard.

Immediately, a shadow forms under Dimitri's feet, before the Swords of Light fall down, spearing in front of Dimitri's field. "Merely delaying the inevitable."
Dark Magician and BLS meanwhile, have proud looks on their faces, watching as Jaden pulls his next card. 'What to do, what to do? None of my cards are strong enough, and on his turn he'll be able to simply knock me with BLS's effect. Twice thanks to CK ... what to do?' Jaden looks back over his hand, smiling as he grabs something.
"I think this is game Dimitri."
"Why do you say that? There's basically nothing you can do against two 3000 attack monsters. Not only that, during my turn I'll simply banish any monster you have."
Jaden chuckles at that, his eyes turning gold as he looks at Copy King, the darkness in the air seeming to get harder. "It's simple. You really should have set a trap card. I reveal Sparkman and equip him with the Spark Blaster! This card allows me to change the position of one monster on the field three times. I think I'll use all three to change all your monsters to defense … well except for Marshmallon who's already in defense."
Sparkman let's off three blasts, each ball of electricity shocking the monster into kneeling down. "Pitiful! Is this all your MAJESTY? I was expecting more!" CK growls out, causing a tick mark to appear on Sparkman's head.
"Calm down Spark. This isn't the end CK, I now activate Dark Calling! I fuse the Evil Hero Inferno Wing in my graveyard and the Elemental Hero Sparkman on my field." Alexis perks up at this, looking close at the dark portal behind Jaden, the two monsters standing up. "Oh hero of dark light, ignite the world and bring forth retribution! I fusion summon Evil Hero Sparking Hell Wing."
The female hero flies out, her claws shining as black lightning courses off her, a dark snarl on her face. "What was that you said earlier? Calling me a wench right?" Hell Wing cackles slightly as she glares at CK.
[Evil Hero Sparking Hell Wing Attribute: Light/Type: Fiend
Must be Fusion summoned with a Dark Fusion card and cannot be Special Summoned any other way. This card gains 300 attack points for every "Elemental Hero" and "Evil Hero" in the graveyard. When this card destroys a monster by battle and sends it to the graveyard: Inflict damage equal to the monster's attack points.

DEF: 2100]
"You see there's no way you can win, without a card facedown of course." Jaden smiles widely at that. "Hell Wing, go ahead, end this duel and destroy CK."
ATK: 2500 → 4000
"H-how did Hell Wing get so strong?" Dimitri manages out, as Hell Wing starts raising into the air, flames and lightning coursing around her.
"Her ability allows her to gain 300 ATK per Evil or Elemental Hero in my graveyard. At the moment there are five since I had to banish my Sparkman and Inferno Wing, but that ability isn't needed." Dimitri gains a confused look on his face. "My Hell Wing has the same ability of my Inferno Wing." Dimitri's eyes widened at that.
"But then I'll lose."
"Exactly!" Jaden smirks. Hell Wing's flames and lightning gets more and more powerful as a large orb begins falling towards Copy King.
To those sensitive to the power of shadows, or if you're just Seto Kaiba, time seemed to slow down. "Now tell me how? How did you take over Dimitri so easily." Jaden commands, his eyes shining in the veil of darkness.
CK seems to freeze, before chuckling, almost hysterically. "His grief, rage, jealousy! Those and the darkness of this island are what brought me about!" CK cackles more, his body shaking in the guise of BLS. "If he hadn't felt those emotions, well I may not have come into existence, but he still would have tried this."
Jaden glares harder at CK. "So that's it? You took advantage of his moment of weakness?"
"Yes, most spirits born from humans on the spot do want that. I mean ask the Pharaoh and the Priest!" CK points over Jaden's shoulders, making him move his eyes to see both Yugi and Seto.
"Oh shit." Jaden curses under his breath. He then shakes his head. "I'll take care of that later. This is the end, I'm destroying you Copy King, you will release both Dimitri's and Syrus's souls. Understand?"
CK grumbles and groans as his true form reveals itself, the green jewel fading away. "He'll wake up in a few minutes. I hope he gets hurt afterwards."
"Silence." Time then catches back up, the burning ball of fire and lightning crashing into Copy King, destroying him in an instant.
Before Dimitri can say anything, Hell Wing lands in front of him and releases a wave of hot wind. Dimitri flinches as his LP is dropped to 0.
"Not again!" Dimitri collapses, or at least tries to, as Hell Wing catches him. She carries him next to Jaden, who promptly takes the deck and quickly pulls out all the copy cards. His eyebrow raising with each card he finds.
"This deck could be good … if you had a good boost to it." Jaden rambles off, as he then looks at Yugi, a mischievous look on his face. "I won against your, pretty tampered, deck."
"Doesn't help it was used by a mild rated duelist." Kaiba speaks out, as Jaden and Dimitri get onto the mainland, the latter still looking downward. "Though that was still a good way. Though I thought you would have used Lightning Golem or Bladedge to end the duel."
Jaden gets an even prouder look on his face. "That's true, but I literally didn't have him. Thanks to the Card Destruction I had to discard Bladedge."
While this is going on, his friends (the conscious ones) look on him in shock, though Alexis recovers first. "Wow, and here I was thinking that Yubel was making fun of me."
'Now why would I do that Alexis?' Yubel chuckles, their eyes shining. 'Besides that, I'm impressed.' Yubel smiles and wraps their arms around Jaden's neck, petting his head as well.
"Yubel." Jaden groans out, causing Yugi to start chuckling. "Anyway, why're you here Uncle Seto?" Jaden looks at the brown haired man, who looks down at Jaden.
"As I told them, there is going to be an exhibition match between me and Yugi." Kaiba states and starts walking back towards the school, though he does stop for a second. "Good job again, I think it's about time you … start using the last part of your name." Kaiba smirks as he walks on, leaving the others with a few dumbstruck looks.
A few seconds pass before Jaden's face gains a small blush before it splits in a wide grin. Yubel and Yugi chuckle at this, before they hear a scream.
"I couldn't win with Crowler's deck! I couldn't even win with the best deck in the world!" Kaiba scoffs at this. "Why can't I ever win!" Dimitri sits on the ground, holding his head.
"Why are you using other people's plans?" Jaden speaks up, as he goes over to him, causing Dimitri to slightly raise his head. "You have some good strategies from what I've seen, you just need to make a deck that shows your soul, not someone else's." Jaden smiles at that, everyone else chuckling from his tone.
"Well, he will have to be expelled." With one sentence, Kaiba then extinguishes the cheeriness from the area. Looking at the surprised looks on the students' faces, Kaiba sighs. "He stole a valued item, ruined it with random cards, and attacked a student. Of course he's going to get expelled."
Yugi nods at that. "There's always next year for him. Hell, I'll sponsor him into becoming a duel performer!"
"Yugi, that won't teach him a lesson."
"True, but he has the skill from the little I've seen. Besides that, we still have a duel to do." And with that the King of Games started walking to the main building, a few steps in front of his rival.
Kaiba grumbles, as he goes to walk. "We will be talking later, Jaden. You" Kaiba points at Dimitri, who jumps from the cold tone. "Will be coming with me." Dimitri follows him, a look of fear on his face.
As the three walk off, Jaden has a proud, victorious smile on his face, right before Chumley, Bastion, and the now awake Syrus, tackle him. They are, at the moment, shooting a barrage of questions of: how he knew both Yugi and Kaiba, why did Jaden call Kaiba "Uncle" (Syrus was confused by this)?
"W-well … It's kinda hard to explain … help." Jaden looks pleading at both Alexis and Yubel look at each other, right before they both start to laugh and walk off (or float off in Yubel's case).
"So that's that!" Jaden finishes his life's story, a little drained as he looks at his three friends. "You guys are horrible, you know." Sitting kinda slumped on a stump.
"Sorry, it's just … so weird." Chumley breaths out, shivering slightly from the night air. "I mean you're so different to him, no one would have noticed."
"That's kinda the point Chum." Jaden rubs his temples, the others looking at him confused. At their faces Jaden rolls his eyes. "Ok, hear this. If you were known to be the family of one Seto Kaiba, whether his actual kid or just his nephew, do you think people would treat you normally? The first three years I was with him, people merely stuck around me in hopes of getting money." Jaden sneers at that, his eyes turning for a second. "People would even let me win, hoping it would get on my good side. So I didn't plan to put my name down fully on the application, even without Uncle Seto's whole thing."
This leaves the three boys shocked before Syrus starts laughing, followed by Bastion and finally Chumley. Jaden looks at them, a bit hurt and confused. "W-well I don't doubt there are people like that." Bastion manages out, his laughing dying off before the other two. "But for us you're a really strong duelist." His smile never dies as he sits next to Jaden. "Besides that, now that we know all this, you won't have to worry chap."
Chumley and Syrus agree, both still chuckling. "You're still you Jaden, no matter who your family is." Syrus ends the cheesiness of the scene as he practically widens his smile. "So no moping around Jaden, it doesn't suit you."
"Agreed." Alexis states, walking over as she smiles.
Jaden raises an eyebrow at her. "So a few questions: 1. Did Uncle Seto lose again? 2. Why did you leave me at these guys' mercy? 3. Do you know where my Uncle is?" A bit of snark rises into his voice with each word, a mischievous smile rising on his lips.
Alexis smirks at that as she puts a hand on her hip. "Well 1. Yes he did, in fact, lose again to the King of Games, though it was extremely close nearing the end. 2. Because." At this Alexis sticks her tongue out. "It would be annoying, besides what do you think I could have helped with? 3. He's right behind me actually."
With that Alexis takes a step out of the way as Kaiba steps forward. "Well at least I know you have a good head on you." Jaden groans inwardly at this backhanded compliment. "Now, follow me, it's been awhile since I was last here." Jaden stands up and goes next to his Uncle. The others look between each other before moving off, going their separate ways as it was getting rather dark.
The pair walked in silence across the cliffline, it was semi comfortable as they just walked. "You know, at one point I was considering getting a dueling monkey." Kaiba breaks the silence, causing Jaden to trip over his own two feet.
"Wh-why would you bring that up now? And why?"
"Mostly an … inside joke I would guess?" Kaiba frowns and rubs his temples. "And to prove a point. I never did do it since that would be rather … cruel." Kaiba sighs at this as he stands next to the cliff. "So that's why you're in Slifer?" Kaiba looks at Jaden side eyed, almost measuring the red jacket he's wearing.
"Yeah, if I had just signed with your name, then I would have automatically placed in Obelisk. Without getting to duel!" Jaden groans, and grabs a rock, chucking it right over the edge. Kaiba gives a light chuckle at that.
"You remind me so much of Hara." Kaiba has a small smile on his face. Jaden looks on in a mild case of shock and a bit of pain.
"Will you … tell me a bit more? I only really have the memories I have and it's … hard to remember from before the accident." Jaden winces, a few unshed tears.
Kaiba looks at him, his eyes softening up a bit. "I met Mara around the age you lost her. I only managed to after proving to my father that I was 'worthy' of the Kaiba legacy." Kaiba grows a fierce scowl, Jaden only not flinching away thanks to having his own matching scowl. "My adoptive father … was cruel. He worked me to the bone, to turn me into the perfect son and businessman. I learned more about my family after that. I met her at a company ball he threw." Kaiba looks into the air. "I was a much different man back then. Or should I say boy. Anyway, she was the daughter of his sister. She and I didn't at first like each other, but when I discovered she liked Duel Monsters, it caught my interest." Kaiba's face softens again, a smile tugging on his lips. "She would insist, or should I say demand, that I duel her."
Jaden chuckles at that, causing his shoulders to shake lightly. "From what I remember, yeah it sounds like her."
"You have no idea." Kaiba places a hand over his face, his own shoulders shaking. "She would constantly insist that I duel her. While I would try to stay cool and collected, she quickly got through that wall, though it was until we were 14 when she moved away. By then I had to harden my walls again, and take over the company."
Jaden laughs some more, as he sits on the ground. "God and here I thought I had a shitty experience."
"HA!" Kaiba laughs into the night air. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure I know a few people with worse experiences. Maybe you'll learn about them." Kaiba sits with Jaden and they just enjoy the cool silence.

Until Kaiba breaks it again. "Why is the Slifer Red Dorm not up to code?"

So how do you guys like it? I know Dimitri's duel was shorter than last time (still over 7 pages lol), I did want to highlight some of Jaden's relationships. Not only that, Dimitri's good (he's ra for a reason), but he honestly doesn't compare to the actual King of Games, he's merely an inferior copy =). Anyway, I do plan to have him make a reapperance in Book 2 so don't worry about that. Sorry if Kaiba feels a little OOC, I just do think he'd at least soften up a bit after a few years with Yugi and his friends more than likely being around him. Not only that he helped raise Jaden for 6 years (though Mokuba was the main one in this fic :P).
Now onto other things, Magi: The Gamer of Magic will be getting 2 chapters as my next uploads. As always thank you for staying patient with me on these series and I'll make sure to have them up to snuff.
