[***Four Months Later***]
In another part of the Frog Valley, Olivier Clawthorne was climbing up some trees,
picking abnormally fruits and gathering them in a satchel he had strapped around him.
As he was doing this, Fleetwing flew over and began chirping at him.
"What is it, little guy?" asked Olivier.
Olivier looked down...and saw Sasha looking up at him.
Breathing out, Olivier climbed down from the tree and dropped down to the ground.
"hey, Oliver." spoke Sasha, her tone somber.
"Hello, Waybright...what brings you here?"
"I was on my way to see Anne..." explained Sasha.
"and I saw you out here, and thought I'd give you a lift back home."
"sure...It is a long walk back to Wartwood." said Olivier.
As Olivier walked with Sasha to the Giant Rhinoceros Beetle mount,
Fleetwing flew over and perched itself onto Olivier's shoulder.
Sasha looked at the Falcon...which looked back at her, a neutral expression on it's face.
The pair then mounted the saddle upon the giant bug. Sasha took the reigns and gave the command to go.
For a long while, the two sat in silence as they travelled down the road back to Wartwood Village.
Sasha glanced at Olivier, but remained silent. Trying to avoid eye contact.
"have something to say?" spoke Olivier.
Sasha remained silent, her face turning red.
"It's a long trip back, even on THIS thing." continued Olivier.
"It'll be kinda awkward to remain quiet through the whole trip."
"How is Anne doing?" said Sasha, finally.
"As good as a pregnant woman can get, I suppose." answered Olivier, professionally.
"There have been times I thought for sure she'd try and kill me in my sleep, though."
Sasha looked at Olivier, half amused. "Really?"
Olivier raised up a bag with a store brand upon it.
"I've learned to always buy Anne's favorite treats from the bakery whenever I leave home." explained Olivier.
"So if I come back, and Anne is in "one of her moods", I always have something at hand to calm her down."
"Define: "One of her Moods." said Sasha, curious.
"Once, I walked into the kitchen...and Anne was holding a knife in a way that made me worried."
"oh."
"and, another time...I woke up in total darkness, and saw a pair of glowing blue eyes glaring at me."
Sasha chuckled at this. "oh gawd...(*chortles*) you have my sympathies."
The two chuckled for a while...but then silence returned.
That awkward silence that neither of them could stand.
"I'm sorry." said Sasha, finally.
"It's fine, nothing I can't-"
"no, not that." said Sasha. "I mean, I'm sorry...for what I did before."
Olivier glanced at the blonde woman. "that was YEARS ago."
"and, it still bothers me." said Sasha, frowning.
"I got over it." continued Olivier. "It wasn't easy, but I eventually did."
"HOW?, I...I betrayed Anne's trust." continued Sasha, staring off in the distance.
"Hell, I chained YOU up and tried to make you into my slave JUST to piss her off."
Olivier scowled as he recalled the moment before everything fell apart in King Andrias castle.
The point where Grime and Sasha attempted their coup to try and take over Amphibia.
Anne had been imprisoned with the Plantars, while *HE* was put in chains by Sasha herself.
Olivier remembered how demeaning it felt...being chained up,
his magic weakened, and Sasha treating him like he was her pet.
Of course, once King Andrias' true nature was discovered...that changed everything.
Whatever anger he and Anne felt towards Sasha was swept away as they all focused on the bigger problem.
And, after...Andrias' defeat, they all went their separate ways.
They went a long time without speaking as they all coped with their respected losses.
But, in time...Anne learned to forgive Sasha for what she had done.
It took Olivier longer however, but eventually he too learned to let go of his grudge.
Sasha had long since proven she was a different person...a BETTER person.
"I remember what you did...and, yes: I was very, VERY angry with you for a long, LONG time." began Olivier.
"But you proved yourself in the end. Anne has forgiven you...and so have I.
So, let's just leave the past dead and buried, and try to move on. I know it isn't easy, but we have to."
Sasha exhaled sharply. "still...I'm sorry for what I did."
Olivier then reached out, and put his arm around Sasha.
Sasha looked surprised as Olivier hugged her with one arm.
"I forgive you...Sasha." said Olivier, finally addressing Sasha by her name.
Sasha wasn't sure how to feel about this.
On one hand, she felt relieved that both Anne, and Olivier forgave her for all she had done.
But on the other hand, she still felt ashamed of what she did and wasn't sure if she deserved forgiveness.
"thank you." was all Sasha could say.
[Later.]
As the Rhinoceros Beetle came to a stop near the Clawthorne House (which was a literal tree house.)
Olivier hopped off the giant insect along with Sasha and approached the door at the base of the tree.
He was about to open the door, when he noticed a paper pinned to it.
Taking the note, he read what he recognized to be Anne's handwriting.
"what is it?" asked Sasha.
"It's Anne." spoke Olivier. "She says she went out for a walk."
"In her condition?!" exclaimed Sasha, worried.
"Don't worry, I think I know where she'll be." began Olivier.
"I'll just get this fruit unpacked real quick, and we'll go look for her together."
Sasha sighed. "okay...I guess you know Anne better than I do by now."
Olivier resisted the urge to say anything snarky in response.
He instead opened the door, and walked into his and Anne's home with Sasha behind him.
Sasha took a moment to examined the interior of the home.
"this is...Nice." said Sasha. "Bigger than I thought it would be."
"Just a blend of Nature and Construction Magic." spoke Olivier. "Our home is simple, but ideal for raising a family."
Sasha smiled as she looked around, examining random objects.
One thing that caught her interest were Anne and Olivier's old clothing that they wore
when they were all thirteen, now fitted over mannequins that were to scale.
Sasha felt a nostalgic feeling as she gazed at these old, withered fabrics.
It was almost as if looking upon ghosts from the past...a past she wished she could do over.
Sasha continued to explore the homestead, while Olivier did his tasks.
She took notice of a door that was left wide open, and couldn't help but look inside.
Sasha stared into a small room that had a rocking chair and a baby's crib inside.
As well as some hand-made, plush toys and a mobile that hung over the crib.
It was obvious this room was meant for the new baby that Anne was expecting.
Sasha exhaled sharply. even after all this time, she was still shocked
at the reality that Anne...HER Anne, was going to have a baby soon.
It just didn't seem real. Despite being in Amphibia for YEARS now,
It still felt like it was only yesterday when Anne first opened that damned music box.
Part of her hoped they would find a way back home...even after the Music Box was destroyed.
But with Anne now having a baby, it was almost as if the painful truth was staring them in the face.
Amphibia was their new home now...and they would NEVER return to the Human World ever again.
"Okay, all done...Let's go look for Anne." said Olivier. "Sasha?"
"huh?, oh...r-right." stuttered Sasha, breaking from her trance.
"You alright?" asked Olivier, concerned.
"y-yeah. I was just...thinking about things."
Olivier breathed out softly. "aren't we all."
Sasha walked with Olivier as they walked out of the Tree House.
Fleetwing then flew over the two, and chirped something.
"What is he saying?" asked Sasha (knowing Olivier could communicate with the magic bird.)
"He says he's found Anne...AND, she's right where I thought she'd be."
"where?" asked Sasha.
"Our special place." answered Olivier.
Sasha grinned. "sounds lovely...How far is it?"
"pretty far."
"Okay, let's get Brock and-"
"ACTUALLY, I know a faster way." spoke Olivier, who looked at Fleetwing.
Olivier then raised his hand, igniting it with gold colored energy.
"what are you-"
"into a Gryphon." spoke Olivier.
In a surge of gold energy, Fleetwing transformed from a small falcon into a large, Bull-sized beast
with the body of a feline, but retained it's avian head, wings and talons at it's front feet.
(("SCREEEEEEEEEE!"))
"HOLY SHIT!" exclaimed Sasha, stunned. "SINCE WHEN COULD YOU DO THAT!?"
"Just an advanced spell that I learned while studying magic these past years." answered Olivier.
Fleetwing approached, making purring sounds as it nuzzled Olivier.
Sasha froze like a statue. the only tiny bird was now bigger than her Giant Beetle.
Her eyes kept on his hooked beak (which could tear her to shreds if he wanted to.)
But, Fleetwing didn't show any aggression. so Sasha calmed herself (but not too much.)
As Fleetwing lowered down, Olivier conjured a saddle onto the Gryphon and climbed onto his back.
"come on." spoke Olivier.
"uhh...I'm not sure." said Sasha, wary.
"You've flown Joe Sparrow before, haven't you?"
"Yes, and I REALLY hated doing it." said Sasha. "I like my transports ON THE GROUND."
Olivier pointed his finger at Sasha...casting a gold aura over her.
Sasha exclaimed as she was lifted up, and then dropped onto Fleetwing behind Olivier.
"sometimes I REALLY hate your freaky magic powers." grumbled Sasha.
"yeah, I know." said Olivier, unfazed. "Okay, Fleetwing...(*grins*) make like the WIND."
"WHAT!?"
Fleetwing appeared to grin as he flapped his now massive wings, and shot high up into the sky like a rocket.
Sasha then hugged Olivier tight, and screamed like a banshee as Fleetwing soared off like a bullet.
(("FUUUUUUUUUUAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!"))
[End of Part Seven]
[Author Notes]
In this Time Skip, I give Olivier and Sasha some bonding time.
Those who have followed the stories of this continuity of mine
may be aware that Olivier had a rocky relationship with Sasha
when the events of the canon series took place.
(In that Olivier was aware that Sasha was a bit of a bully,
and having a bad experience with bullies, didn't like Sasha initially.
Likewise, Sasha didn't help things with her Tsundere attitude towards Anne,
and even flirted with Olivier just to provoke Anne.)
I also imply that during True Colors...things got real awkward.
BUT, in the NWH Timeline where they all got stranded in Amphibia,
the now grown up adult had to let go of past grudges
and learn to get along since they were all they had now
(As implied in the last chapter, including Olivier.
Anne, Sasha and Marcy are the only humans in Amphibia.
They can't just avoid each other forever.)
I also introduce a new, advanced magic skill for Olivier
where he can transform Fleetwing like in the live action film' Maleficent.
Also, I had Sasha ride a Giant Rhinoceros Beetle,
as I thought it looked cool and something she would ride...
...AND, as a reference to DevArtist/Writer Cowboy-Alchemist
who wrote in a Primal-inspired scene featuring them in HIS Amphibia story.
