"Judging by the smile on your face, I would say you had a good Valentine's Day?" Harry asked Hermione, raising an eyebrow.

Hermione blushed, but couldn't stop the smile appearing on her face. Valentine's Day had been a few days ago and she finally managed to get some time with her best friend.

Lunch with Harry had been a tradition ever since they started college and didn't want to lose touch with each other, and it was when they always shared any news they may have.

"Yes, I had an amazing Valentine's Day, Fred was a perfect gentleman and I had more fun than I had in a long time," Hermione sighed dreamily, before looking at her friend. "What about you? Did you have a date?"

Harry blushed and looked at his menu, not answering her question. Hermione giggled, knowing that Harry was probably embarrassed about telling her anything, but she was happy for her friend.

"Okay, keep your secrets for yourself," Hermione said, perusing her menu. "But you don't get to know anything about my date, when you don't share anything."

"You don't share anything, unless I ask you," Harry replied, making Hermione look at him. "What? You know it's true!"

"It isn't true!" Hermione protested, rather vehemently, if she said so. "You're my best friend, Harry, I always tell you what's happening in my life. Why would this time be different?"

"I don't even know your boyfriend yet!" Harry practically yelled, making Hermione look at him with widened eyes. "You talk, talk and talk, but you never even take a chance to introduce us. Sometimes, I think you're ashamed of your friend."

Hermione was taken aback about what Harry was saying. It wasn't like she was embarrassed, or something like that, she just…didn't want to share Fred. Not yet.

Everything was so new, she was afraid to share her relationship with her friend. She knew it was a stupid fear to have, but she didn't know how to change how she felt.

"I'm not ashamed of you, Harry, I'm just…" Hermione looked at her friend, trying to think how to put in words what she was thinking. "I think I'm not ready for you to meet Fred yet. But it's because of me, not because of something you have done."

"And why aren't you ready yet? He did something for you?" Harry asked, looking at her with a frown.

Hermione laughed, diffusing the tension. "No, like I said, he's a perfect gentleman. I'm not ready for him to know you yet, when I know how overprotective you can be, so I'm trying not to scare him."

Harry laughed and Hermione felt herself feeling lighter. No matter what would happen, she knew Harry would have her back.

"Well, of course I wouldn't scare him off. If he's interested in you, he's a good guy," Harry said, looking at his menu, "and I expect to meet him after you introduce him to your parents."

"Deal," Hermione replied, before going back to her menu.

It seemed nice to talk with Harry, but there's something else she needed to know.

"So, how was your Valentine's Day?" Hermione asked, seeing Harry blushing. It was nice to see her best friend so happy the same way she was with Fred.
