"I want to show you something." Edward smiled at me, that crooked smile I could not say no to. He took my hand and helped me out of the car. "We will have to walk from here. Is that okay?" He asked.

"I'll be careful." I could feel the heat in my cheeks. He held my hand tightly as he led me through the woods. After ten minutes or so, we came to a clearing. It seemed like another world. Wild flowers grew in large lush patches. The sunbeams shone through the clouds, leaving a patchwork of light on the brilliant green grass.

I followed him to the middle of the clearing. We laid down. He took my hand and held it to his silent chest. I wanted him to kiss me. A perfect first kiss. I knew it was wishful thinking. He didn't trust himself. I trusted him completely. I rolled onto my side nervously, fiddling with the button on his shirt.

"Bella," he whispered as he raised my face to look him in the eye. "You mean everything to me." His eyes drifted down to my mouth. I bit my bottom lip nervously. He leaned in slowly. CRACK. A loud boom of thunder startled us both. A downpour immediately followed. He jumped up and took me by the arm, helping me to my feet. He started to run towards the woods, back to the car. He turned when he sensed I wasn't following.

"Bella, you're getting soaked!" He closed the gap between us in two strides. He reached out and put his hand on my shoulder. "Come on. Let's head back to the car."

This was it. I raised up on my toes and wrapped my arms around his neck. He hesitated at first but allowed me to pull him in. I closed my eyes and softly touched my lips to his. He cupped my face gently and ran his fingers through my rain-drenched hair.

He broke the kiss too soon, but I needed to catch my breath. He wrapped his arms around me, holding me to his chest. It was the perfect first kiss.
