Bryant: Don't lie. When you saw how badass these schools are, you couldn't help but want to go to them. But it's only natural that, with a bunch of teenagers, there are bound to be some students that can't help but bother everyone with their over the top sound.
Thea: But these two take 'loudmouth superheroes' to another level!
Bryant: Kyoka Jirou. The Hearing Hero: Earphone Jack.
Thea: And Toka Yada. The Songbird of ACH.
Bryant: I'm Bryant Reese.
Thea: And I'm Thea Price.
Bryant: And we're here to analyse these two fighters and find out who would win, a WI Battle!

Kyoka Jirou:
Bryant: In the distant future, dreams, would become a reality. One didn't have to look far to find someone with a Quirk, or a superpower.
Thea: And of course, when people have superpowers, they can't help but do whatever they want with it.
Bryant: Fortunately, where there are villains, there are also heroes.
Thea: And where else can a person go to learn how to be a kickass pro-hero, then from high school.
Bryant: Behold U.A. high. One of the greatest hero schools in the world. There, teenagers and heroes-to-be are trained in the ways of fighting villains, answering distress calls, and saving the innocent.
Thea: The kids accepted into the Hero Course are randomly split between two classes. Class 1-A and the other one.
Bryant: Within Class 1-A, there are many, many different kinds of heroes. From the reckless, yet selfless Izuku Midoriya, to the badass, yet aggressive Katsuki Bakugou, to the prodigious, and powerful Shoto Todoroki. With such powerhouses in the class, it can be hard to stand out.
Thea: Yet one member managed to stand out to the fandom in her own way. Kyoka Jirou, the class rockstar!
Bryant: You seem to be excited.
Thea: Well yeah! Hero Too is one of the reasons why My Hero Academia is my favorite anime, especially since they used Chrissy Costanza. A singer that I loved watching when I was younger! And I love me a good rock song.
Bryant: I'm more of a pop and/or EDM, but you have a good point. Jirou was born into a family of musicians. While she specialized in the guitar, she was well versed in most instruments for rock music, such as the bass guitar, drums, and vocals. However, this wasn't the life that she wanted. While she loved music and playing music, what she really wanted was to become a pro-hero, helping the innocent, using her sound to save the day.
Thea: And man, could she do it. Especially with her Quirk, Earphone Jack.
Bryant: Growing out of her earlobes are two earphone jacks, which can extend to several meters. She has enhanced hearing as well, capable of hearing incoming opponents and citizens in danger from far away by locating the vibrations in the ground. This makes her an excellent teammate for rescues missions and scouting.
Thea: But she's not here for scouting or anything like that. Nope, we're here to see how she can kick some ass!
Bryant: Her Earphone Jacks can pierce stone, slip through narrow spaces, and act as whips. But their signature ability is to amplify Jirou's heartbeat. Doing so allows Jirou to attack with powerful vibrations.
Thea: She can stab her targets with her jacks, and hit them with some powerful soundwaves. This can result in some painful punishment for some perverts, or shattering large rocks. She can do even more with her hero outfit and gear.
Bryant: Her costume is mostly a plain outfit. She mostly wears an ordinary leather jacket, salmon shirt, and black pants. But what stands out on her outfit are her boots, which have speakers attached. These stereos allow her to attack with massive amounts with soundwaves, strong enough to cancel out Present Mic's own voice quirk, which is powerful enough to shake trees in a forest as though with the winds of a hurricane, and even knock foes out. And when she upgraded her equipment with a pair of headphones, and two speaker bracelets which can also act as amplifiers, increasing her sound.
Thea: Jirou is definitely an aggressive fighter. She's not afraid of throwing any punches, and will probably be throwing them hard. Especially with her supermoves, like Heartbeat Fuzz, or Heartbeat Surround. But despite that, Jirou prefers to use her brain over her brawn, relying on strategy. And while she may not actually use one regularly, she was able to use a sword to defend herself against multiple villains at once almost easily.
Bryant: Jirou may not seem all that much when compared to her more famous classmates, but she has proven she can provide a lot to her friends.
Thea: Like in the provisional license exam, she destroyed a crapton of the ground underneath some other students from other schools. With just her sound! Talk about noisy.
Bryant: By comparing the ground that Jirou destroys in the manga to her classmate Tenya Iida, it appears that she destroyed about 420 cubic feet of rock in just five seconds. Considering that and the size of each individual shards of the ground, this means that Jirou's sound should have a power equivalent of about 16,700 tons of force with her amplifiers.
Thea: Huh, not bad. Not bad at all.
Bryant: Even disregarding her massive power, Jirou's proven herself on several occasions. She withstood the massive sound attacks from Present Mic, fended off multiple villains alongside her friend Momo Yaoyorozu, and figured out how to use Kaminari's electricity without shocking them as well. She figured out how to defeat Present Mic in the Final Exams, and scored the 7th highest in terms of grades in her class.
Thea: But while she's a pretty good fighter, she's not without her flaws. She has no real protection against loud noises, which means her hearing can be used against her. And without her stereos or amplifiers, there's only so much she can do.
Bryant: She also tends to be more of a team player, and while she is capable of coming up with certain ideas, they tend to be more so for on the spot action, rather than long term plans. As such, she relies more so on her teammates for plans.
Thea: Still, you're gonna need to keep your guard up against the Hearing Hero: Earphone Jack. Otherwise, she'll make your ears ring.
(Kyoka Jiro) There's no time to hesitate, so do it now!

Songbird Yada:
Bryant: In the year 2000, the Xander came to Earth and delivered to the World Leaders a binder, containing the information for some of the biggest threats in the universe. These range from the shapeshifting Skrulls, to merciless Krees, to the limitless Kryptonians. But one threat in particular stood out amongst the names.
Thea: Makes sense, since it took up over half of the binder!
Bryant: The Mad Titan Thanos. A threat to over half the universe. And so, the Nova Corp, and Green Lantern Corp went to Earth to recruit the superheroes of Kunugigaoka's Class 3-E to help defeat the supervillain. You may remember one of them, Nagisa Shiota. Or Agent Venom.
Thea: Oh yeah, that guy who's a badass with that goo and guns.
Bryant: But he's far from the only hero in that class. There are a large variety of different heroes in the class.
Thea: Like the speedy Masayoshi Kimura, aka the Flash. The shrinking Maehara, the Ant-man. And the spy couple, Hayami and Chiba, also known as the Black Widow and Hawkeye. But when you want sound, you need Toka Yada. The Songbird.
Bryant: Toka Yada can certainly stand out in her own ways. She fell into Class 3-E as a result of her having to take care of her younger brother and thus skip a test.
Thea: They booted her for one test? Talk about harsh.
Bryant: This is a school where people are encouraged to be bullies, the principal beats the crap out of exchange students, and baseball teams are allowed to smash other student's brains out.
Thea: Good point.
Bryant: But the Class of 3-E ended up being a pretty nice place for Yada. She became a member not of a group of rejects and failures, but a family. One which she can fall back on should she need help.
Thea: And when you have a bunch of classmates who are a bunch of superheroes, you know that you can rely on them. But the thing is, in order for you to be able to rely on people, they have to be able to rely on you. Luckily, Yada can be quite the fighter. She is the big sister of the class after all. And if my sister taught me anything, you can rely on your sister to beat the crap out of anyone who bothers you.
Bryant: Ooooh, kay... Anyways, Yada has several abilities she can use to help fight villains. She's the third best of the girls in terms of knifework, and one of the best in terms of negotiation and infiltration. All essential skills for assassins.
Thea: But what really makes her stand out are her superpowers! Obviously, she's a superhero.
Bryant: Like most superheroes, she has a superhuman physique. She's strong enough to lift 2 tons, can dodge bullets, fight for hours at a time, can tank attacks that would kill normal humans, has impressive agility, and has impressive reflexes. She's also skilled in wrestling. But she relies more so on her sound attacks.
Thea: She can create sound barriers, create powerful sonic blasts, and even create solid objects! Platforms, battering rams, and even pincers?! How?!
Bryant: Comic logic. She can even create wings out of sonic waves and move at the speed of sound. She can also manipulate a person's movements via high pitched persuasions, making people think certain thoughts without knowing she's there.
Thea: Her sonic persuasions can do a lot more than that. There are different levels of that she can use her persuasions. She can cause nasty headaches, hallucinations, blindness, stomach cramping, and even panic attacks! Man, that's scary.
Bryant: In terms of pure sound power, she can create sounds equal to a jet engine only five feet away. That comes up to a total volume of one hundred and forty decibels.
Thea: For comparison, the loudest noise you can hear before suffering from hearing loss is 85 decibels. And 150 decibels is enough to cause your eardrums to explode! And while she can create one hundred and forty decibels, she can amp it up when she's angry.
Bryant: She's not without her flaws though. Should she use her sonic abilities for too long, she can risk losing her abilities and tearing apart her vocal cords. She also can act a little reckless when it comes to her brother, although this is obviously due to her love for him. What's more, she's more of a follower than a leader, and often relies on her friends taking charge as she helps support them.
Thea: But that doesn't mean she can't kick ass.
Bryant: Even with these flaws, Yada has done much in her time in Class 3-E. She's capable of standing out within the impressive list of assassins in Class 3-E, fought against Thanos's army, and even kept up with an alternate version of herself. She was also selected to lead her own group of superheroes in the future.
Thea: She and the Assassination Classroom have definitely made sure that the world knew that the likes of the Justice League and the Avengers aren't the only ones ready to save the world.
(Songbird Yada) Now let's kick some major ass!

Bryant: Alright, the stage is set, time to start this dance.

A girl dressed in a punk rock outfit fiddled with her earlobes, which ended into extendable earjacks. A blunt sword was sitting at the side. She looked up as a helicopter came down and landed. After the blades stopped, a black hair beauty came out.
"Hey! I'm guessing you're Earphone Jack?"
"Yeah. Bout time you got here, Songbird." Jirou said in a slightly teasing tone. "I thought you were fast."
"Sorry sorry. I had some things to do." Songbird laughed. A red blur appeared behind her.
"I was things." the Flash joked before running away as his blushing girlfriend swatted at him.
"So, All Might told me that this is a training session?" Jirou checked.
"That's right. Your class and mine are going to be joining up to work together in order to better prepare for high level threats, like the League of Villains, or Thanos." Songbird confirmed. She walked a little bit away before looking back at Jirou. "Let's begin sparring, so we know what the other can do. That'll let us find what the other needs work on, from one sound user to another."
"Sounds good to me. Bring it on then!" Jirou said as she extended her jacks and stuck them into the amplifiers on her wrists. She got into a boxing stance, getting ready to battle. Songbird got into her stance.
Best brace yourself!
Fight!
Two pink wings appeared on Songbird's back, allowing her to kick off the ground and soar straight towards Jirou. The rocker pointed her amplifiers at the incoming superhero.
"Heartbeat Surround!" she yelled. The amplifiers came off, and powerful sonic pulses shot towards Songbird. The flying superhero stopped and screamed. Her own sonic waves shot out of her mouth and canceled out the other two. Songbird flew towards Jirou, who picked up the sword and swung it towards Songbird. She quickly shot a sonic wave downward and flew over the attack. Songbird spun and kicked Jirou in the back, sending her forward. Jirou rolled and spun around to hold up the sword to block another kick from Songbird. She pushed her off and fired another sonic blast, sending the superhero back. Songbird spun midair and went into the sky with her wings.
"Not done yet!" Jirou said as she pointed the amplifiers again, shooting more sonic waves. Songbird bobbed and weaved through the attacks, glancing down to fire her own attacks. Jirou jumped back to dodge the screams and continued to fire with her amplifiers. Songbird grunted as one managed to clip her wing, sending her spinning through the air before she recovered.
"Not bad. Let's see how you can handle this!" she said in challenge. With another scream, she created a massive battering ram, which shot forward towards Jirou.
"What kind of quirk is that?!" Jirou freaked before shooting another loud sound wave towards the battering ram. The powerful sound slowed the attack down before it dispersed. Songbird dropped to the ground and rushed over to Jirou. She tackled Jirou, sending them both rolling around. Jirou got up, only for Songbird to dash behind her and slam her down in a suplex before throwing her up. Jirou straightened herself in the air and pointed her amplifiers towards Songbird and fired another sonic wave. Songbird quickly bounded back and fired back her own. Jirou landed and jumped back, dodging the sound wave. Her jacks shot forward to stab Songbird, but the vocal hero simply created a whip and slapped them away. She tried to hit Jirou, only for the rocker to block with slashes of her sword. When the whip fell back, she stood straight and fired another sonic attack, prompting Songbird to dodge to the side.
"Shall we compare sound?" Songbird said in challenge.
"Bring it. Heartbeat Surround!" Jirou yelled as she pointed her amplifiers forward again. Songbird bent her knees, rearing her head back before bringing it forward in another scream. The two sounds collided. Both fighters pushed with all their might. Songbird reared back again and screamed even louder, pushing Jirou's sound back and sending her flying. Jirou yelled in pain from the overwhelming sound. She focused her heartbeat to be even louder and managed to cancel out the sound.
"Try this!" Songbird said as she charged in and punched Jirou. Jirou swung back savagely with her sword, chasing Songbird as she continuously slashed towards the dodging superhero. Songbird leapt back before landing on the ground again and sending another sonic wave. Jirou leapt out of its way and slammed her hands to the ground.
"Heartbeat Fuzz!" she said. The earth trembled and broke apart, startling Songbird. She stumbled with a yelp before leaping into the air with her wings. Jirou aimed her amplifiers.
"Take this!" she fired the strongest sonic blast she could. Songbird fired back her own sonic scream, creating a sonic barrier that blocked the attack. "Okay seriously, what is that Quirk?!"
"Pretty good!" Songbird said as she swooped in. She attacked with a sidekick, which Jirou blocked with her sword. She kicked with her other leg and knocked the sword out of Jirou's hands before kicking her away from it. Jirou got back up and shot another sound wave towards Songbird. She quickly dodged to the side before opening her mouth again. This time, Songbird let out a high pitched noise, nearly unheard. Nearly. Jirou caught the high sound with her enhanced hearing.
'You want to put your weapons down, and surrender.' the whispering voice said.
"I want to put my weapons down and surrender, LIKE HELL I AM!" Jirou yelled as she sent another powerful sonic wave towards Songbird. Songbird flew up and towards Jirou again, dodging the incoming attacks and getting up close. She landed in front of Jirou and hit her with an uppercut before shoving her to the ground. She leapt up and fell down towards Jirou with an elbow. Jirou quickly rolled away before leaping up and punching Songbird. The fist slid off her face. The two stood in silence. Songbird immediately grabbed Jirou and put her into a headlock.
"Say uncle!" she said. Jirou grabbed Songbird around the neck and flipped her over her shoulder, slamming her against the ground before running back and firing with her sonic blasts again. Songbird dodged and came up to Jirou. She threw another punch, but Jirou dodged and broke the ground again, sending both off balance. Songbird flew up again while Jirou hopped to the side. She looked up and jumped back again as Songbird landed where she was standing. Songbird screamed again, Jirou sending out a massive sound wave in return. The two attacks collided again, with both fighters pushing as hard as they could. Songbird suddenly cut off her scream and flew up, attacking from above. Jirou quickly raised an amplifier to lessen the sound. Songbird went under the soundwave and landed near the surprised Jirou.
Songbird ran towards Jirou. Flustered, Jirou swung wildly at Songbird, who ducked and grabbed her by the arms. Jirou tried to headbutt, only to be stopped by a peck from Songbird. Jirou jerked back.
"What the hell?!" she freaked.
"Rule No. 1." Songbird smiled. She screamed in Jirou's face, causing the rocker's eyes to roll up. "Don't get distracted."
"No… fair…" Jirou mumbled before fainting.
Songbird sighed as she put the knocked out trainee on the ground gently. She turned to see two lightning users staring at her. The Flash tapped the ground with an annoyed foot. Kaminari stared at her with a slight blush, but mostly with his mouth agape.
"Uh… no homo?"
KO!
Thea: Oh Songbird. You should know that it's only no homo when you say it like a statement, not a question.
Bryant: Jirou certainly put up a good fight. In fact, there are few scenarios where she could've taken advantage of Songbird's vocal cord weaknesses and simply dragged on the fight. It would be possible, given how Jirou has shown that she can adapt in a battle fairly well, especially since she would be able to resist Yada's persuasion abilities due to actually hearing the voices clearly, instead of assuming it's a part of her conscious.
Thea: But that's assuming that she gets the chance. Sure Jirou is strong enough to knock a person out, but that's nothing compared to being able to lift 2 tons. And she's always been more so a supporting hero rather than one who takes charge. And even when we gave Jirou a sword, that still wasn't able to make up for the fact that Songbird was way better in close-ranged combat. She had way better training, and knows wrestling!
Bryant: Wrestling's fake.
Thea: Excuse me?!
Bryant: Not to mention, while both their arsenals are better suited for long ranged combat, Songbird's was far more versatile, being able to create platforms, shields, and wings. Said wings also allowed her to maneuver around the field far more easily than Jirou can.
Thea: On top of that, Songbird had way more experience. She fought Thanos's army, which was made up of Klyntars, Krees, and Skrulls! Sure, Jirou fought her own share of villains, but it wasn't anything close to what Songbird fought in just that one battle.
Bryant: But what people really want to know, is whether or not Songbird can overpower Jirou's sound.
Thea: Jirou's Heartbeat Fuzz was equal in power to 16,700 tons of force! I don't think that Songbird actually did anything like what Jirou did. How can she beat that?
Bryant: Well, by converting the force she outputted into joules, joules into watts, and watts in decibels, we found that the volume she was outputting is equal to 100 decibels. If you recall, Songbird's scream was equal in volume to a jet engine, which comes up to 140 decibels.
Thea: And if you watched Death Battle's Black Canary vs Sindel fight, you would know that each additional decibel multiples, instead of adding on.
Bryant: This means that Songbird's volume output is ten thousand times stronger than Jirou's. Meaning while Jirou can reach almost 17 kilotons of force, Songbird's is almost 170 megatons. For comparison, an average 5.0 earthquake is equal in power to only 3 megatons. Meaning Songbird's scream is over fifty times stronger. So, while Jirou could potentially neutralize the scream, she wouldn't be able to overpower it.
Thea: I call bullsh*t.
Bryant: What?
Thea: You're telling me that a freaking jet engine can do that?! No way. Otherwise, we would never even use planes.
Bryant: I know it can be hard to believe, but it actually makes sense when you look at how the sound is directed. A jet engine's sound is spread over a large area in all directions through multiple layers, thus lessening the vibrations felt in one particular spot. Where-as Jirou and Songbird both fire the sound waves in a concentrated attack, focusing the waves and condensing the full force of the vibrations into one direction with a much smaller range, thus increasing their power.
Thea: So what you're saying is, that when these two use their power, they're just making the vibrations go in only one direction, instead of all over the place, making it stronger?
Bryant: Exactly! And regards to Songbird vs Jirou, Songbird didn't just overwhelm Jirou with her sound, she also had better options for defense, and more options for ending the fight, like with nausea, hallucinations, or panic attacks.
Thea: Why did we pit these two against each other?
Bryant: Well, Jirou was the one who fit to be Songbird's opponent the most, as this Songbird is from Assassination Classroom Heroics.
Thea: …eh, that's fair. Well, I guess this means that the winner of this WIB Battle is Songbird Yada!
And there you have it. Songbird Yada from Autistic Grizzly's Assassination Classroom Heroics vs Kyoka Jirou from My Hero Academia. Hopefully you all enjoyed it. If you want to see a certain battle, just leave a review. Here's the next matchup. Azure out!
A large, lush field is currently filled with music. A slow, peaceful melody is being played. On top of a rock, an elf-like boy clad in green was playing on a blue ocarina with his eyes closed, simply enjoying the music. A purple-hilted sword and quiver was on his back, along with a blue shield. A bow was sitting on the rock next to him. The boy continued to play, before opening his eyes and putting the ocarina away. He grabbed his bow and stood, looking up to the sky. A massive door opened in the sky.
An angel with brown hair ran down the dark doorway, holding a sharp blue bow. He skidded to a stop in front of the open door and leapt out. His wings spread wide, allowing him to fly down to the ground in front of the green clad boy. He gave him a goofy grin.
"Sorry to keep you waiting!" he said. The bow in his hand split into two, becoming twin blades which the angel spun before slamming them together in an X over his head. He took his stance, bouncing lightly on his feet. His opponent took out both his sword and shield and took his own stance. The two readied themselves for a fierce battle.
