SPORTS

"Tell me again why we're doing this, Nagisa," Honoka sounded exhausted and no wonder. Physical activities other than walking or jogging with her dog were out of reach for her.

"Oh come on! You said you want to improve yourself to raise your grades in PE class," Nagisa said with a huge smile. "You do well but you have to try a little more, it won't just be physical exercises, it's sports in general, like basketball or volleyball." Those were the sports the teacher was going to use for the tests after all.

"I can throw the ball when we practice basketball and I can support when we play volleyball in PE, but I've never seen myself as an active player, sports aren't my thing," Honoka complained.

"We'll only practice basketball, the teacher said we'll play in teams and basketball is less physically demanding compared to volleyball," Nagisa explained without losing her smile.

"It is?" Honoka pouted.

Nagisa nodded a few times. "I'm not saying that one sport is better than the other, but in volleyball you fall to the ground, you use your hands to receive the ball and hit it hard, you also have to have strong and light legs to be able to move quickly from one side of the court to the other."

Honoka smiled when she noticed something special in the way her girlfriend explained the subject. "And what can you tell me about basketball?"

"If you're a beginner, you can stay in one area, receive and shoot the ball, and block with your body, so each player has a position," continued a lively Nagisa. "I think it's more suitable for you to have a position where you can use a couple of movements. Surely you could also do a good job in volleyball but that requires more complete physical preparation, something like that needs more time. And I don't want you to get hurt unnecessarily."

"You really do have an eye for these things," Honoka commented with a happy smile. "You know? You sounded better than our PE teacher," she smiled even more, "you can see people's strengths and how to best use them. You could make a great PE teacher," the girl added.

Those words surprised Nagisa and for a second she didn't know what to say. "Do you really believe it?"

"Yes! I've noticed that with the team you are also very active in that aspect and you help your teammates to take advantage of their strengths instead of suffering with what they cannot do", Honoka said after remembering the times she had gone to watch the lacrosse team practice. She readily admitted that all her attention was on her girlfriend.

Nagisa blushed and bounced the basketball in her hands a bit. They were on the publics courts practicing. There were few people at that time of day, after noon everyone would arrive and the courts would fill up. It was best to be there earlier. It was a nice Saturday. Also, Nagisa admitted that Honoka looked cute in sportswear, it was rare to see her in such an outfit.

"It doesn't sound bad... Being a PE teacher," Nagisa muttered.

Honoka smiled. "I think it suits you, you're good at relating to people and you know a lot about these things, in addition to what I already explained to you," she said. "Right now I can picture you as a teacher."

Nagisa started to laugh with joy. It seemed she had found it (at last!) something to fill out on her form for college. Unable to resist, she hugged Honoka and even picked her up as she whirled in joy. "That's it! That's what I have to do!" she exclaimed with joy.

"Nagisa! I'm glad, but we're going to fall!" A startled Honoka yelled, then wrapped herself around Nagisa's neck with both arms.

"Thank you, Honoka! You're a genius!" Nagisa kept spinning and eventually fell to the ground along with Honoka. Nagisa stayed below protecting Honoka from the impact, there was no damage from the fall anyway.

The two girls looked at each other and finally began to laugh.

"I'm really glad you found something you want to do in the future, surely you should discuss this with your parents."

"Yes, I'll talk to them," she sighed very calmly. "Mom is worried because I haven't told her yet which university I plan to go to. Thanks to this, I'll be able to make my plans with them." She looked at Honoka fondly and kissed her cheek. Little did she care if someone saw them or not. "But first I have to get you ready for the PE test, we have a week."

"I'm ready, teacher." Honoka smiled.
