This is a matchup that was requested by MasamuneNoirPrime.

Disclaimer: I don't own Bleach or Yu Yu Hakusho. Yu Yu Hakusho is owned by Yoshihiro Togashi and Shueisha. Bleach is owned by Tite Kubo and Shueisha.

Azure: Two high schoolers who soon become undead warriors. They have the power to switch between a human body and a ghostly body, where they're invisible and can use the power of spiritual energy to fight undead monsters. They're accompanied by a female spiritual being like them, and learn to use their powers under a wise old master. Both are also staples in Shonen Jump, even being members of their respective generation's of Shonen Big Threes.

-Line Break-

Bryant: Ghosts. Sometimes, they're just friendly people looking for a friend or to help others. Sometimes, they're the vengeful image of the past, seeking revenge.

Thea: And sometimes, they're badass kids with the power of anime on their side!

Bryant: Ichigo Kurosaki, the Soul Reaper from Bleach.

Thea: And Yusuke Urameshi, the Spirit Detective from Yu Yu Hakusho.

Bryant: I'm Bryant Reese.

Thea: And I'm Thea Price.

Bryant: And we're here to analyze these two fighters and find out who would win, a WI Battle!

-Line Break-

Bryant: When you look at the orange-haired teenager that is Ichigo Kurosaki, you'd probably think him to be an average high-schooler delinquent. But there's much more to Ichigo than meets the eye.

Thea: Yeah, though you'd be excused for thinking that he just was just a delinquent, since he thought he was normal his entire life. Ichigo spent most of his life helping raise his sisters, helping the family's medical clinic, and brawling with his dad.

Bryant: However, there was one thing that made him different from others. Ichigo could see ghosts.

Thea: Yep. It's that kind of story.

Ichigo Kurosaki:

-Job: Shinigami

-Age: 29

-Height: 181 cm

-Weight: 66 kg

-Name means Strawberry

Bryant: From the moment he was a child, Ichigo was able to see ghosts and even communicate to them. He started helping them and regular people thanks to his father saying that his name meant "to protect one thing."

Thea: I thought it meant Strawberry?

Bryant: Japanese words and kanji can be confusing. His noble attitude, however, ended up ruining his life. When Ichigo was a young child walking home with his mother, he spotted what looked to be a girl about to fall into the river. But when he rushed to save her, he fell unconscious and woke to see his mother dead. This was Ichigo's first encounter with the malicious side of the dead.

Thea: The second encounter came while he was a teenager. Ichigo met a weird lady named Rukia Kuchiki, who was hunting down a spiritual monster called a Hollow.

Bryant: Hollows are dangerous beasts who are born from the souls of humans, corrupted from staying in the Human World for too long instead of passing into the afterlife, or Soul Society.

Thea: When the Hollow was able to hurt her pretty badly, Rukia was forced to transfer her powers over to Ichigo in order for them both to survive. And Ichigo ended up becoming a Shinigami!

Bryant: Ichigo found himself being a substitute Shinigami, as he drained Rukia of all of her powers. Eventually, he learned to access his powers on his own, and found himself working alongside other Shinigamis, as well as other kinds of humans who had spiritual powers.

Thea: Good thing too, cause Josh Groban- I mean Sosuke Aizen was planning to overthrow the Soul King and become the man standing at the top of the world, no matter who stood in his way, even if the world as they knew it would become destroyed. And after he got defeated, Friedrich Nietzsche- I mean Yhwach wanted to do the same in order to merge the worlds together. Which would kill everyone. So Ichigo had to use his Shonen powers to stop them!

Abilities/Arsenal:

-Superhuman abilities

-Swordsmanship

-Spiritual Awareness

-Martial Arts

-Reiatsu

-Fullbring

-Zanpakuto

-Protective Charm

-Techniques:

=Getsuga Tensho

=Shunpo

=Blut Vene

=Blut Arterie

Bryant: Saying that Ichigo became a Soul Reaper may be incorrect. Ichigo was actually already a Soul Reaper and just needed something to kick-start his powers. When doing so, Ichigo can tap into his Reiryoku and take on his Shinigami form, which is a body made of his Reiatsu.

Thea: Okay, so Ichigo's powers are energized by his Reiryoku, or Spiritual Power. When he unlocked his access to Reiryoku, he obtained control over his Reiatsu, or Spiritual Pressure.

Bryant: Think of it as potential energy vs kinetic energy. Reiryoku is energy built up inside of Ichigo, while Reiatsu is the form that energy takes when it's released. Thanks to this, Ichigo's admittedly already impressive physical strength and speed are enhanced, and his body is even invisible due to being made of Reiatsu.

Thea: Ichigo can survive wounds like sword slashes and stabs through the chest, and he's strong enough to keep up with Hollows. Even standard Hollows, which are the equivalent of slimes in RPGs, are strong enough to cut large gashes into concrete and buildings. But the real plus of being a Shinigami is the Zanpakuto! It's a giant sword made of Ichigo's soul, and powered by his Reiryoku. While it started out in a sealed form which just made it look like an extra fat katana, it was still strong enough to cut through roofs and walls.

Bryant: A Zanpakuto isn't just a sword made of soul magic. The Zanpakuto is a separate entity living within Ichigo's soul, named Zangetsu. Well, both of them are.

Thea: So, Ichigo's a Soul Reaper because his dad was one too, but he's also part Quincy, which is a race of humans who can also use Reiatsu, since that's what his mom was. He's also part Hollow since his mom was possessed by one, which was passed on to Ichigo. These three family traits manifested into two different versions of Zangetsu. One was a manifestation of his Quincy side, while the other was a fusion of the Soul Reaper side and the Hollow.

Bryant: The presence of two Zanpakuto spirits gave Ichigo immense Reiryoku, allowing him to use a large variety of special skills and powers.

Thea: Ichigo can also use his Reiatsu to enhance his physical body, generate intense pressure on his opponents, sense other spiritual auras, and even create platforms under his feet to jump off of in the air, allowing for flight. But the real kicker is his signature attack, the Getsuga Tensho!

Bryant: The Getsuga Tensho is Ichigo's best attack. He can fire it as a crescent blade of energy or use it as an omnidirectional attack by striking the ground with it. He's used it to slice up buildings and disperse storms.

Thea: And that's just one of many things he can do. After doing some training with his friends in the Soul Society, Ichigo learned techniques from both his Quincy and Shinigami side. He learned swordsmanship, how to use Shunpo, which is a technique that lets him move fast enough to disappear, and two Quincy techniques called Blute Vene and Blute Arterie, which let him increase his durability and attack.

Bryant: Overtime, Ichigo's training allowed him to reach even higher levels of power through his numerous transformations.

Transformations:

-Shikai

-Bankai

-Visored

-Vasto Lorde

-Dangai

-Final Getsuga Tensho

-Fullbring

-Fullbring Shikai

-Fullbring Bankai

-Merged Hollow

-True Shikai

-True Bankai

Thea: Starting out is his Shikai form, which is the form Ichigo takes when he enters his Shinigami body. While he started out with a sealed sword, when Zangetsu was released to become a sword that looked like an oversized steak knife, it gave him a huge boost in power, letting him keep up with other Shinigamis way more experienced than him and even block the Sokyoku, a special execution weapon meant to have the power of literally a million Zanpakutos. Ichigo could even tank hits from the likes of Byakuya Kuchiki, who was equal to his Shikai in power, and take hits from his Bankai, even just barely keeping up with it.

Bryant: The Bankai is the form that Ichigo achieved after his Shikai form. While some Shinigami who learn to use this get a boost of times five, others can reach a full times ten power increase. Given the fact that this was mentioned, specified, and emphasized, it's likely that Ichigo did in fact get the times ten boost when he unlocked his Bankai. In this state, Ichigo was able to move at incredible speeds, helped by the fact that Zangetsu became a smaller katana, thus making it easier to use.

Thea: When the Hollow wants a turn, Ichigo enters his Visored form, which is the Bankai with a Hollow mask slapped on top. This is my favorite form! He gets an enhanced Getsuga Tensho, and enough power to match the likes of Ulquiorra, who can become powerful enough to destroy Las Noches, which is as large as an entire state!

Bryant: While the Visored state does have a risk of making him become a Vasto Lorde, a powerful yet animalistic state with hyper regeneration and access to an energy blast called Cero, he later replaced it with a form known as Dangai, which is similar to Bankai in theme and purpose. In this state, he can create shockwaves that level mountains with a casual swing of his sword. And when he wants to amp it up, he uses the Final Getsuga Tensho, a form which grants Mugetsu, which allows him to sacrifice his powers in exchange for an incredibly powerful attack.

Thea: But after losing his powers, Ichigo got access to Fullbringer powers, which give him an armored bodysuit that lets him fight at the same level as his regular Shinigami form. It could also fire energy blasts and use Bringer Light, a technique that lets him launch himself crazy far distances. It also gave him access to a new Shikai and Bankai! But then he lost those too. Man, he loses powers more than I lose money on anime merch.

Bryant: Don't worry, Ichigo was soon able to get back his power after discovering the truth of his heritage. When he did, he was able to accept both sides of himself, merging his Vasto Lorde form with his Quincy side, creating his True Shikai.

Thea: He even created a pair of new Zanpakutos by draining an entire ocean. He regains access to Cero and even an enhanced version called the Gran Rey Cero, and can combine the GRC with his Getsuga Tensho. Or just fire two Getsuga Tenshos as a cross in the form of Getsuga Jujisho. And of course, he's got a new Bankai.

Bryant: It should be noted, however, that these forms can be considered to be in different categories instead of the same. We can label these categories as Shinigami, Fullbring, and True Shinigami, thus giving us baselines to scale too. For example, the being known as Yhwhach implied that Ichigo's True Shikai was on the same level as his Dangai.

Thea: Death Battle did stack the forms to say that each one gave the previous one a times ten boost regardless of their categories, resulting in True Bankai having a power boost of time a billion, but they also stated that it was for the sake of argument and that it probably didn't even work like that. But we can still assume that they should work the same way, so True Bankai probably gives a times ten multiplier as well. Geez, with all these forms, It's no surprise Ichigo has done a lot.

Achievements:

-Broke a gravity barrier with a swing of his sword

-Survived massive explosions seen from miles away

-Slain countless Hollows

-Mastered several advanced Shinigami techniques and powers in days

-Moved faster than Candice can see him

-Defeated Kenpachi, Byakuya, Aizen, and Yhwach

Thea: Ichigo can kill countless Hollows back to back and move faster than the eye can see, even creating after-images by running before learning Shunpo. He was even able to keep up with Byakuya, who can attack with thousands upon thousands of sakura blossoms that are sharp blades.

Bryant: But even more impressively, he's kept up with opponents such as Kenpachi, Aizen, and even Yhwach.

Thea: Kenpachi was a guy who needed a special eye-patch that literally ate his Reiryoku to decrease his power. He created earthquakes and destroyed a meteor a third the size of a barrier called the Shakonmaku, which covers a part of the Soul Society called the Seireitei, which has a size of 333 kms.

Bryant: Given this, the meteor likely has a diameter of over 110 kms at least. In comparison, the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs was theorized to have a diameter of only 10 kilometers. Assuming the meteor that Kenpachi destroyed had a density of 3e+12 Kg/Km^3-

Thea: I don't speak calculator.

Bryant: It should have a mass of 114 trillion tons. Add in an acceleration speed of 71 kilometers per second, the fastest recorded speed of meteors, and this meteor should be falling with a kinetic energy of about 69 petatons of TNT.

Thea: Heh. N-

Bryant: *smacks her*

Thea: Ow.

Bryant: This is enough energy to destroy entire continents. But even that pales in comparison to the likes of Aizen and Yhwach, who both are comparable to the Soul King.

Thea: The Soul King is a being who holds Earth, the Soul Society, and Hueco Mundo together. Since the Soul Society and Hueco Mundo can be considered spiritual counterparts to Earth, they're probably the same size.

Bryant: Given that Ichigo has been compared to these two, it's likely that he too is capable of matching the Soul King. And keep in mind, Aizen was able to reach the power of the Soul King when Ichigo only had access to his base Shinigami forms. It's reasonable to assume that he's even more powerful as True Shikai can be compared to Dangai.

Thea: And Ichigo in his True Shikai is pretty fast too. He's kept up with opponents who can move fast enough to compare to lightning. Heck, even his Bankai was fast enough to compare to lightning. Man, Ichigo is pretty freaking cool. I guess that's why he's a member of the Big Three.

Bryant: Right. The term Big Three has been debated heavily on the Internet on what exactly it means. In our point of view, the Big Three refers to the three anime of each generation that is able to stand above the rest in popularity and influence. Ichigo became a member of the Big Three thanks to what his anime provided.

Thea: The music was a bop, the fights were something new, and the characters were awesome. Even if you didn't like the main characters too much, you'd still get excited to see what the side-characters can do. And you can't deny that Ichigo and his friends look awesome. It was considered to be a grown up version of Naruto since it was more focused on an older audience in the form of teens and adults. A lot of people's first introduction into anime was Bleach, and that was because of how available it was since they could watch it on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. You know, that cable network that had shows like Family Guy, Robot Chicken, the Boondocks, and Futurama?

Bryant: Ichigo and Bleach certainly did a lot for anime fans, but they're not flawless.

Weaknesses:

-Final Getsuga Tensho sacrifices his powers

-Reckless

-Prefers melee combat

-Struggles to defeat those with bigger Reiryoku

Bryant: Throughout the series, every character in the series struggles to cut through people with greater Reiryoku than them, as the energy they emit force them back without their own Reiryoku pushing back through.

Thea: Not to mention that Ichigo is pretty darn reckless, which results in him getting his butt kicked all over the place. The series is called Bleach since they have to use so much to clean their clothes.

Bryant: And being a swordfighter, Ichigo prefers using close-ranged combat over long-ranged combat. This is dangerous as he lacks the same level of skill and experience as other Shinigami, who lived for several lifetimes. And while he's skilled in martial arts, he relies more on his speed and power over his skill in swordsmanship.

Thea: In terms of Bleach, you gotta keep in mind that it's a Shonen manga. It's a genre that is usually for teenagers, so even though it was tailored to an older audience, its main readers were people in junior to senior high. The thing is with Bleach fights, they later became more symbolic in nature than most Shonen fights, and there's a big emphasis on complex themes. Say that Bleach has a character who can shapeshift while another anime, like My Hero Academia, also has a character who shapeshifts. My Hero would focus on how it works and how to work around it. Bleach would focus on what the ability means for that character. The complexity of theme over action, focusing mostly on the themes of the scenes, caused it to lose popularity with its readers.

Bryant: What's more, while Shonen protagonists such as Goku and Naruto learned new abilities and worked to overcome all obstacles, obtaining new abilities to do so, Ichigo improvements were mostly considered to be 'just because', as much of Ichigo's new abilities were either passed for a Gestuga Tensho or made irrelevant by his opponents. Likely as a result of Bleach's focus on theme over action, as Thea said before.

Thea: Still, Ichigo isn't someone you can look down on. There's a reason why he stands as one of the kings of anime, even now. He's saved his friends, family, Soul Society, and the world several times, defeated Yhwach to stop the destruction of the world as they knew it without his Bankai! He even got married and had a kid afterwards. Not to Rukia like how many people wanted, but, when you think about it, Rukia is literally lifetimes older than Ichigo, so…

(Ichigo Kurosaki) Getsuga! TENSHO!

-Line Break-

Bryant: When you look at the green-clad teenager that is Yusuke Urameshi, you'd probably think him to be an average teen delinquent. But there's much more to Yusuke than meets the eye.

Thea: After the start of the anime at least. Before that, Yusuke was just an average delinquent. Smoking, skipping school, taking money from other kids, and beating up thugs. But he did have nice moments. Like that time he ran into a kid playing near the road and decided to make him laugh by acting silly with chopsticks up his nose. Or that time when the kid ran out into the street, and he saved the kid before getting hit by a car and killed. Wait a minute.

Yusuke Urameshi:

-Job: Spirit Detective

-Age: 17

-Height: 173 cm

-Weight: 82 kg

-Name means Ghost Helper

Bryant: Yep. Yusuke Urameshi died. However, instead of going to heaven or hell, he instead met Botan, a grim reaper.

Thea: Aka the original and cooler Aqua.

Bryant: It turned out that Yusuke wasn't meant to die that day. As such, he received a second chance from Koenma, the ruler of the Spirit World. After returning to life-

Thea: With the kiss of Princess Charming aka the childhood friend.

Bryant: -Yusuke became a Spirit Detective.

Abilities:

-Superhuman abilities

-Spirit Awareness

-Spirit Gun

=Spirit Gun variations

-Spirit Punch

-Spirit Kick

-Spirit Wave

Bryant: Due to his occupation as a Spirit Detective, Yusuke has superhuman strength, speed, and durability. He's strong enough to keep with supernatural creatures, dodge bullets, and fight for literal hours. What's more, he gained access to Spirit Energy.

Thea: He can see ghosts, demons, and sense other sources of Spirit Energy and even fly. But more importantly, he can fire lasers!

Bryant: This is his signature attack, the Spirit Gun. All Spirit Detectives gain the access to use spirit energy in the form of powerful energy blasts. In Yusuke's case, he can fire it from the tip of his finger like bullets.

Thea: Yusuke can also alter the Spirit Gun to be how he wants it. One moment it's stunning opponents, and another it's bouncing off of mirrors like an actual mirror.

Bryant: And while it originally could only be used once a day, Yusuke was soon able to use it as much as he wanted. He can also fire two Spirit Guns by shooting with both hands instead of just one, like in his Spirit Gun Barrage, which fires a barrage of Spirit Guns, where one hits the other to boost power.

Thea: And when he really wants to amp it up, he's got the Spirit Gun Mega. An attack which uses all of his spirit energy for a single blast. This thing is strong enough to vaporize just about any demon that comes in his way.

Bryant: Yusuke also possesses the Spirit Shotgun, which allows him to fire a barrage of weaker blasts from his fist, allowing him to hit multiple opponents at once, much like how an actual shotgun works.

Thea: And if he wants to go physical, he's got Spirit Punch and Spirit Kick, which are exactly what you think. Punches and kicks that are enhanced with Spirit Energy. But one of the real kickers is Spirit Wave. A powerful attack that works like the Spirit Gun, but has a couple things different.

Bryant: The Spirit Wave uses Yusuke's full body instead of just his finger, and while being rather dangerous and difficult to use due to the reduced range and all of Yusuke's Spirit Energy running through his body, it's an incredibly powerful attack for close-range, can negate attacks, and even heal damage.

Thea: Thanks to being a Spirit Detective, Yusuke was tasked to perform many tasks for Koenma. From reclaiming lost artifacts, defeating demonic titans, saving an ice apparition named Yukina, getting chased by Truck-kun with PTSD, punching a woman in the chest and figuring out she was a dude, and more.

Bryant: Fortunately, Yusuke wasn't just a random thug on the street. He's a legitimately skilled fighter. Starting out, as he was much weaker than the demons he fought, he relied on his mind and strategy to get the edge over them and land a decisive blow with the Spirit Gun, as he could only use it once a day at first. Even later, when he became stronger, he was able to alter and improve his fighting-style to match superior opponents.

Thea: But this is a Shonen character. There's gotta be a plot twist about how he was born.

Mazoku Heritage:

-Makes him a S-Class warrior

-Increases power with rage

-Mazoku Form

-Demon Gun

-Demon Gun Mega

Bryant: In a battle with the powerful Shinobu Sensui, a human with Spirit Energy ten times more powerful than Yusuke, Yusuke's ancestral blood was unleashed, bringing him back even from death.

Thea: Okay, so Yusuke is a Mazoku, a descendant of a demon clan called the Amazaku Demon. His ancestor, Raizen, decided to make it so that when the stars reach a certain alignment, he can become a demon. Thanks to his demon heritage, Yusuke's power can increase thanks to his anger.

Bryant: But even more importantly, he gained access to his Mazoku Form. In this state, Yusuke can tap into demonic energy to replace Spirit Energy and use the Demon Gun, an even more powerful and demonic version of his Spirit Gun, as well as the Demon Gun Mega. What's more, the Mazoku Form gives him a fifty times power boost. Though it is worth noting that in this form, he channels the spirit of Raizen through his body. And should he lose control, Raizen can take over his body.

Thea: Yeah, Raizen isn't a nice guy, so that's not a good thing. But Yusuke is a nice guy, and he's more than willing to fight for his beliefs.

Achievements:

-Was said to be capable of destroying the Earth

-Created wing blades with his punches

-Deflected lightning

-Fought for 60 hours

-Defeated 100 demons with a barrage of punches

-Defeated Hiei, Gouki, Suzaku, Younger Toguro, and Sensui

Bryant: Over the course of his series, Yusuke has performed several impressive feats. For example, he was able to deflect bolts of lightning from the sky. Which means he would have to move at least Mach 70 speeds in order to intercept the bolts.

Thea: And that was when he was a C-Class. Spiritual beings like Yusuke and his rival Hiei are put in different classes, and there's a pretty big difference in power between classes.

Bryant: Right. When Hiei became an S-Class demon, he was able to take on five hundred A-Class demons. And while it should be noted that we don't know how long it took him or how much he struggled to do so, a lower S-Class could defeat three A-Class demons without any effort. Assuming each tiers have three categories, this should imply that each category between tiers should be around five times.

Thea: Not bad for Gon's granddad.

Bryant: Even more impressively, Yusuke could match Sensui, who claimed to be powerful enough to create an earthquake that would shake the Earth at only fifty percent. While this may seem to be an exaggeration, Yusuke's mentor Genkai stated that Yusuke should be able to create enough energy to destroy the planet.

Thea: Is it really that crazy? Yusuke is strong enough to defeat an entire army of demons just by punching them. He's even kept up with Hiei, who regularly moves faster than what even demons can see. No wonder Yusuke was a member of the Original Three.

Bryant: Right. Naruto, One Piece, and Bleach are the more well-known examples of the Big Three, but they weren't the first. Before them came three anime who are icons in media history, even before anime became popular. While certain anime such as Akira were the ones who truly impressed the Western Audience, shows like Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, and Yu Yu Hakusho were the ones who truly showed the world what anime had to offer. These three series were the ones who allowed the anime community as we know it to come into existence in the first place.

Thea: Yeah. Naruto, One Piece, and Bleach are the Big Three, but Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, and Yu Yu Hakusho are the Legendary Three. The reason why people talked about the Legendary Three so much is because they were the flag bearers of anime. And Yusuke was a member of that three.

Bryant: Even with its age, Yu Yu Hakusho is able to hold its own with modern anime. While the animation is old, the look of the show and the impressive fights are iconic, and high-quality for the time. Even despite falling behind the likes of Dragon Ball and Sailor Moon, it was still highly appreciated, even to this day.

Thea: But Yusuke and Yu Yu Hakusho weren't perfect fighters or series.

Weaknesses:

-Limited amount of Spirit Energy

-Self-taught martial arts

-Reckless

-Limited intellect due to skipping school

Bryant: Yusuke's Spirit Energy is not limitless. Should he use all of his powers at once, he'll be left helpless, as his arsenal relies almost entirely on Spirit Energy. This is dangerous as Yusuke isn't really known for being a cool-headed fighter. And while he may not be a dumb fighter, he isn't exactly an expert chess player.

Thea: Not to mention the fact that ever since his demon blood was awakened, he's become easier to let humans die. He even threatened to kidnap humans and shove them down a demon's throat to make sure he gets a good fight out of them. Not exactly the nicest guy out there. But you gotta do what you gotta do. Like the mangaka.

Bryant: Right. The mangaka of Yu Yu Hakusho, Yoshihiro Togashi, wrote a rather abrupt and controversial ending, which caused the fans to be rather disappointed, and the anime even made its own ending. It was revealed that Togashi had fallen victim to the same thing that most highly successful mangaka did when they started out.

Thea: Their success itself.

Bryant: It turned out that Togashi wanted to end the manga an entire year before it actually ended, but was pressured to continue it due to its popularity. While he did legitimately care about the series, it took a serious toll on his mind and body, as he was forced to stay up late and his life revolved around making the manga. The reason for his controversial ending was because he wanted to force the series to end in a way that would make it essentially impossible for him to continue it, allowing him to follow a healthier life-style.

Thea: But don't worry. He soon came back, and found his success again in the form of Hunter x Hunter. Or, Hiatus x Hiatus as some people call it. Not anymore though, since he's apparently continuing it.

Bryant: And Yusuke still remains as a figurehead of anime and manga. And whether he's still doing occasional Spirit Detective work, running a ramen booth, or living a married life, he'll always be ready for a scrap. So be ready, for you'll be facing one of anime's heaviest hitters.

(Yusuke Urameshi) Spirit Gun!

-Line Break-

Bryant: Alright, the stage is set, time to start this dance.

Thea: Battle ready, set, GO!

-Line Break-

Two flashes of light filled the area as the crowd cheered. Two teen heroes stepped forward. One held a large sword while dressed in a robe, with a head of spiky orange hair. The other was dressed in green and had gelled back hair and a cocky grin on his face. They stood in a giant arena, where large pillars of rocks stood up from the ground, surrounding the circle of tiles that the two appeared in.

"And here we are folks! The match you've all been waiting for! On the left, we have the mighty, Ichigo Kurosaki! And on the right, we have the incredible, Yusuke Urameshi! These two are some of the afterlife's best champions, and they are here to show us what they can do!" The crowd cheered once again as the two teens approached each other.

"Looking forward to a good fight!" Yusuke said.

"Yeah. Better not hold back on me!" Ichigo challenged. Yusuke smirked before the two jumped back and took their stance.

The battle of Shonen!

Fight!

"Getsuga! TENSHO!" Ichigo yelled as he fired the sword beam. Yusuke hopped to the side as the attack zoomed past.

"Spirit Gun!" Yusuke fired back, and Ichigo simply knocked the attack to the side.

"Alright then!" Yusuke grinned as he charged forwards. Ichigo gripped Zangetsu with both hands and took his stance.

"Hyah!" Yusuke yelled as he jumped up and spun towards Ichigo with his legs extended. Ichigo blocked the kick and pushed Yusuke back before swinging his blade, only for Yusuke to catch it. The two gave each other a look before jumping back.

"Are we really gonna do this all kiddy-like? Or are we gonna get serious?!" Yusuke said as he punched his other hand.

"I'm waiting on you. But if you want to get serious, then let's see if you can keep up with my Shunpo!"

"Shun- what?" Ichigo blurred and appeared behind Yusuke. "Woah!"

"You flinched!" Ichigo taunted. Yusuke frowned.

"Very funny. Spirit Punch!" Yusuke threw the glowing fist forward, only for Ichigo to blur and appear behind him again.

"Spirit Kick!" Yusuke spun and threw the kick, only for Ichigo to duck under and knock Yusuke away with a swing of Zangetsu. Yusuke hit the ground and rolled to his feet before dashing away. Ichigo gave chase with Zangetsu pointed behind him.

"Spirit Gun!" Yusuke said as he pointed his finger behind him and fired it. Ichigo knocked the blast away, prompting Yusuke to fire them rapid-fire. Ichigo skidded to a stop and spun Zangetsu like a lasso in front of him, deflecting the Spirit Guns before taking out his other Zangetsu.

"Getsuga Tensho!" Ichigo yelled as he knocked away a final Spirit Gun and fired his signature attack.

"Spirit Punch!" Yusuke covered his fist in energy and punched the sword beam, dispersing it. Ichigo suddenly appeared in front of Yusuke, causing him to jerk back.

"Nice moves!" Ichigo swung both Zangetsus up, forcing Yusuke to block with another Spirit Punch. The blow sent Yusuke flying through the air and through a pillar, causing it to begin tipping over. Yusuke recovered and punched the pillar, sending it flying towards Ichigo.

"Nice try!" Ichigo said as he fired another sword beam, destroying the pillar and creating a cloud of smoke. Yusuke swooped under it and zipped up to Ichigo, surprising him.

"Spirit Kick!" Yusuke swung his foot and slammed it into Ichigo's stomach, making him cough and get sent flying through the air. Yusuke pointed both pointer fingers towards Ichigo and gathered Spirit Energy at the tips again.

"Spirit Gun Barrage!" Yusuke yelled as he fired the barrage of energy bullets. Ichigo stopped himself with an invisible platform of Reiatsu and used Shunpo again, disappearing and reappearing all over as the energy bullets zipped through where he was. Yusuke growled and fired a Spirit Gun at the ground behind him, launching him towards Ichigo. Ichigo held up Zangetsu to block a powerful punch that forced him to skid back in the air. Yusuke grinned at his opponent.

"What's the matter? Is speed all you got?"

"I'll show you speed!" Ichigo shot back. The two disappeared and began dashing around the arena. They continued to disappear and reappear to either throw an attack or to disappear again to dodge.

"Getsuga!

"Spirit!"

"TENSHO!"

"GUN!" The two reappeared and unleashed their attacks, creating a large explosion that knocked them both back. Ichigo was the first to recover and dash forward again. He appeared in front of Yusuke, who immediately threw a punch that was blocked by Zangetsu. The two swung their swords/fists rapidly, creating more shockwaves as they collided before Yusuke punched Ichigo in the face and kicked him away.

"Spirit Gun Barrage!" Yusuke pointed his fingers again and fired a barrage of Spirit Guns. Ichigo grunted as he was pelted and knocked to the ground, landing on his feet. He growled as he stabbed Zangetsu into the tiles beneath him and unleashed a Getsuga Tensho that knocked the tiles into the air. Yusuke dodged several of them before Ichigo appeared in front of him and smashed his opponent through one of them. Yusuke landed on another tile and shot towards others, bouncing off of them until he slammed into Ichigo. The two rocketed towards the ground where Yusuke slammed Ichigo into the tiles and dragged him through them. Ichigo forced his eye open and pointed the smaller Zangetsu into the ground and fired another Getsuga Tensho that blasted the two both into the air. The Shinigami landed and zipped around the Spirit Detective, slashing him as he passed. Yusuke grunted as he was knocked around relentlessly before Ichigo slammed both feet into his stomach and knocked him into the ground so hard, a cloud of dust erupted and covered the air. Ichigo landed on the ground and looked at where Yusuke was with the larger Zangetsu blade on his shoulder.

"Spirit Gun!"

"You got anything new?!" Ichigo grunted as he used Shunpo to disappear and reappear behind Yusuke as he fired the Spirit Gun.

"Like you're one to talk, Mr. Getsuga Tensho!" Yusuke shot back as he whirled around and swung wildly, only to miss as Ichigo disappeared.

"Alright then." Ichigo reappeared to the side of Yusuke, walking casually with both swords at the ready. As Yusuke watched, Ichigo became a blur. Suddenly, a second Ichigo appeared to the right of Yusuke, causing him to flinch back.

"Alright Mr Spirit Gun, listen up!" More Ichigos appeared, blurry as they dashed around Yusuke.

"Thousand bullets fly! Thousands of Ichigos dance! Which one is top-sh*t?!"

"...I feel like that was a kind of reference or poem! But I don't know what kind!"

"You uncultured douche!" One Ichigo appeared in front of Yusuke and swung his sword, knocking the Spirit Detective away. Yusuke skidded to a stop and aimed another Spirit Gun, only for another Ichigo to sweep him off his feet and blast him away with another Getsuga Tensho.

"Gah!" Yusuke grunted as he was sent flying into another sword swing from Zangetsu. Ichigo continued to knock around Yusuke at high speed before Yusuke suddenly fired behind him. Ichigo was forced to block instead of attack, letting the Spirit Detective drop-kick the Shinigami. Ichigo coughed and grunted as he was blasted with another Spirit Gun that knocked him through the air.

"Spirit Shotgun!" Yusuke fired the barrage of energy blasts, only for Ichigo to disperse them with a cross-slash from his swords. Yusuke appeared in front of Ichigo and punched him with a fist glowing with spirit energy. Ichigo was sent flying like a rocket, shooting through multiple pillars before colliding with the last one and getting stuck in it.

"Ow…" Ichigo grunted. Yusuke yelled as energy gathered at the end of his finger, causing space around him to begin to warp.

"That doesn't look good!" Ichigo grunted again as he yanked out an arm from the pillar. He slammed the butt of the smaller Zangetsu into the pillar, causing it to explode into dust and letting him fall to the ground and on his feet. Yusuke continued to charge up his shot, with the energy now covering him and his surrounding area with blue light.

"Getsuga! JUJISHO!" Ichigo roared as he fired the two Getsuga Tenshos. The crossed energy blades rocketed towards Yusuke as he finished charging.

"SPIRIT! GUN! MEGAAAAA!" Yusuke roared as he fired the massive beam of energy. The beam rocketed forwards and slammed into the Getsuga Jujisho, instantly shattering it and continuing towards Ichigo. The Shinigami's eyes widened as he was enveloped in bright blue light.

"Gotcha!" Yusuke panted as he fell to a knee, grunting as he felt himself unable to move.

"Wow! What an amazing Spirit Gun Mega from Yusuke Urameshi! But was it enough?!" the announcer said as she watched the sphere of bright blue Spirit Energy. A sudden, malicious pressure fell upon everyone in the arena. Yusuke's eyes widened as he looked towards the explosion.

"BAN! KAI!" The explosion turned dark red with black bolts before exploding outwards. Yusuke barely had enough time to cover his face before he was slammed into by the shockwave and sent flying. From the center of the shockwave, a horned figure stood with a single sword held high as he howled a demonic howl that sent shivers down people's spines.

"What the hell?!" Yusuke groaned as he rolled to a stop. Bankai Ichigo walked forwards as the energy subsided, a white sword with a black middle on his shoulder. A single Hollow's horn was jutting out the left side of his face.

"Yo! Not bad! But this is the end!" Ichigo said. Yusuke growled before concentrating. A sudden surge of black energy surrounded him in a demonic aura, and he let out a demonic roar as his shirt was ripped off by the aura, revealing blue marks decorating his chest and shoulders. His hair extended and became white, and Mazoku Yusuke stood at the ready.

"Now it's the end!" he snarled. Ichigo narrowed his eyes, and the two were still. Suddenly a shockwave created a massive crater in the middle of the arena. But the audience was already looking up, where another shockwave appeared. Even more shockwaves appeared all over the arena, knocking over pillars and reducing them to dust as a mere side-effect.

"Demon Gun!" Yusuke growled as he landed and fired the black energy bullet.

"Cero!" Ichigo landed and fired a red beam from his horn. The two attacks collided and created a black and red explosion. One that was instantly dispersed as the two pierced it and collided inside. Yusuke grabbed Ichigo and bashed their skulls together, leaving Ichigo open for a point-blank Demon Gun to the chest, sending him rocketing down in the ground, sending tile up into the air again. Yusuke rushed past them, disintegrating them as he did. He roared as he flew down and slammed a powerful fist down. Ichigo blocked the attack with Zangetsu, grunting as he was forced onto a knee as the attack caused a large crater to appear around them. The two struggled against each other until Ichigo managed to knock Yusuke back with an uppercut and slamming the hilt of his sword into Yusuke's stomach, sending him flying.

"Getsuga Tensho!" Ichigo appeared above Yusuke and fired multiple sword beams towards the Spirit Detective. Yusuke slashed them apart with his hands and roared as he fired back with Demon Guns. Ichigo disappeared and reappeared at the edge of the arena as Yusuke skidded to a stop at the other side.

"GEEEEET! SUUUUU! GAAAAA! TEEEEENNNN!"

"DEEEEMMOOOOONNNN! GUUUNNNNNN!"

Ichigo suddenly pointed his sword and horn towards Yusuke as the Spirit Detective gathered more demonic energy at the tip of his finger.

"GRAND! REY! CERO! AND GETSUGA! TEEEEEEENSHOOOOOOO!" The energy between the sword and horn exploded towards Yusuke as a beam of malicious energy.

"MEEEEEGAAAAAA!" Yusuke roared as he fired the Demon Gun Mega in response. The two attacks collided and pushed against each other as the two put everything they had into their attacks. Shockwaves were washing over the arena, lifting things into the air and disintegrating. Neither were aware of this, but the entire world was beginning to shake, putting fear into everyone.

"HrrrrrAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" Yusuke roared as he poured more energy into the attack. Ichigo grunted as he was being pushed back.

"Concentrate… and FIIIIGHT!" he roared as he fired back just as much energy as before. Yusuke grunted as he was nearly overtaken, just barely holding on.

"THIS! IS! IIIIIIITTTT!" Ichigo roared. Yusuke roared back as the energy covered him.

"..."

"..."

"WRONG!" The energy suddenly dispersed, letting Yusuke's attack rocket forward. Ichigo's eyes widened in shock.

"I! WILL! WIIIIIINNNNN!" Yusuke roared as his attack overtook Ichigo. Ichigo roared as the energy surged over him, dealing massive damage and ripping apart his robe. The energy died out, leaving the two to stand in the arena. Ichigo and Yusuke both fell out of their forms, leaving them both as regular humans. They panted, exhausted. Ichigo looked up at Yusuke and shook his head.

"What… the… hell." He fell forward, landing on his face, and falling unconscious. Yusuke looked at Ichigo in disbelief before a grin slowly broke out on his face. He raised his hand high and roared into the sky as the crowd cheered.

KO!

Thea: Woah! Now that's what I call a battle!

Bryant: Both Ichigo and Yusuke certainly proved themselves to be worthy of their positions above their generations of anime and manga, but Yusuke had Ichigo outmatched in several key areas.

Thea: To be fair, both were pretty even in terms of skill, range, and experience. Ichigo had a few more tricks up his sleeve than Yusuke and was generally smarter than him, which means that if we were to focus only on the mentioned factors, Ichigo probably would've won.

Bryant: Except that there are other factors which went into this battle.

Thea: Let's talk power!

Bryant: Both Ichigo and Yusuke have displayed many feats of power and could scale to characters like Kenpachi and Sensui, who were rather similar in terms of raw destructive power through feats such as cutting through the meteor and shaking the Earth. But both Ichigo and Yusuke are far stronger than these two.

Thea: Both are stated to be planet busters through scaling to the Soul King and Genkai's statement, but they're even stronger than that. Yusuke can destroy one Earth in his base form after all. Add in the times fifty multipliers from his Mazoku form, and you get a Yusuke who can destroy fifty Earths at once!

Bryant: Ichigo wasn't too far behind. The Soul King's power balanced three realms the size of Earth, and when we add in the times ten multiplier of True Bankai, and Ichigo is capable of destroying thirty Earths at once. Only forty percent less than Yusuke.

Thea: Sure, this might seem big, but their energy outputs are similar enough for Ichigo's more varied arsenal to close the gap. The thing is, Yusuke still had the edge in endurance. Both can take a lot of pain and fatal blows, but Ichigo always got tired out from just one battle with someone stronger than him, and needed to tap into his full potential in order to close that gap. But we're looking at Ichigo when he's already at his full potential, so he had nothing to pull from when he was tired. Yusuke, on the other hand, was able to fight for sixty hours without getting tired, and when he ran out of Spirit Energy, he could just swap it in for Demon Energy instead. So even though he had more aces that left him drained than Ichigo, he would still be able to use those aces when he wants, giving him the edge over the Shinigami.

Bryant: Regarding speed, Ichigo was able to scale to lightning in his regular Bankai, but he's much, much faster in True Shikai. One character he likely can compare to is Ichibei, who can knock foes miles away and appear next to them in a second. It's stated that he knocks opponents a thousand 'Ri' away, which is a Japanese form of measurement that equals about 3,927 kilometers.

Thea: Considering the speed he needs to catch up to his opponents and the fact that Yhwach defeated him by going twice as fast, which Ichibei was slightly slower than, this means he can move at 28 million kilometers per hour. Ichigo was later able to make a trip that Ichibei could make in a week, and took only about nine hours and fifteen minutes, putting Ichigo's speed at around over 513 million kilometers per hour. That's more than half the speed of light. And his True Bankai gives him a speed of five billion kilometers per hour.

Bryant: That's five times the speed of light.

Thea: But Yusuke could actually match that, if not even beat it.

Bryant: Right. We lowballed the difference between each tier category, lower C, mid C, and upper C for example, to be a fivefold difference. Even when lowballing the power difference, this still means that Yusuke's initial Mach 70 speed would come out to over Mach 680,000,000. That's almost eight-hundred times faster than light, and forty times faster than Ichigo.

Thea: Which means that even with Ichigo's edge in arsenal and intelligence, he would be too outclassed by Yusuke's crazier endurance and speed for him to actually close the gap in power.

Bryant: Ichigo wasn't going to go down without a fight, and he's certainly capable of giving said fight. However, Yusuke was simply too much for the Shinigami to handle.

Thea: Yusuke sure got the Shonen Jump on Ichigo. Which means the winner of this WI Battle is Yusuke Urameshi!

I've been wanting to do this fight for a while. I haven't finished either series, but I seriously love what I have seen. I don't know why I suddenly went on a tangent about the rise and fall of Bleach and Yu Yu Hakusho, but it was interesting doing research into the series, and makes me want to see them in their entirety. Next chapter probably will come out faster than this one, since it's pretty much fully written already. There was just one matchup that I personally think deserves to end off this collection of Halloween-themed chapters.

NEXT TIME!

Two trench-coat wearing men stood before each other, each with a sword on their shoulder and an aimed revolver in their other hand. The thing is, the hand holding their swords were prosthetics. One man was red, while the other had head of white hair. And all around them, the bloodied, chopped up, and ruined bodies of demons stained the ground.

NERO!
