Azure: So here's a request from Crusherboy93. This is the Badnik Battle Royale, featuring a guest appearance from Crusherboy93's OC, John Bertrand. Go check him out.

Bryant: Sonic the Hedgehog. One of video game's most iconic mascots alongside the likes of Mario, Link, Master Chief, and Ryu.
Thea: With a guy as famous as Sonic, there's gotta be a lot of enemies for him to fight, right?
Bryant: That's right. In this case, we'll be discussing the variety of different Badniks. Advanced robots who act as bosses for Sonic to fight. To keep things simpler, we'll be focusing on four Badniks in particular. And as Metal Sonic is canonically the most powerful of the Badniks, we'll be excluding him from this fight.
Thea: And since they're built from the same guy to beat Sonic, we'll be determining the results by analyzing them from a lore perspective, instead of a Vs Sense. If you don't get what that means, think of it like this. We have two characters from two different series that have two different power scales. Yamcha from Dragon Ball is made fun of for being weak, while Bakugou from My Hero Academia is known for being strong. From a Vs point of view, Yamcha is stronger than Bakugou. But from a lore point of view, Bakugou would be stronger than Yamcha.
Bryant: With that in mind, I'm Bryant Reese.
Thea: And I'm Thea Price.
Bryant: And we're here to analyze these five fighters, this is gonna suck, and find out who would win, a WI Battle!
-Line Break-
Bryant: Starting out the list of Badniks is one of the three main robots based on Sonic. Made entirely out of metal, this is Mecha Sonic Mk. II, the successor to the original Mecha Sonic, now known as Silver Sonic.
Thea: Since Sonic is such a big obstacle for Dr. Eggman to deal with, he figured that the only way to deal with him is by making his own version of Sonic to use for his schemes.
Bryant: And thus, he created the first Mecha Sonic. When that failed, he made another, supposedly superior Mecha Sonic, which is now the one mostly known as the actual Mecha Sonic while the first one was relegated to the name Silver Sonic.
Thea: Mecha Sonic is actually pretty tough. It's one of the older Sonic bosses, but it has a level of self-awareness and intelligence. Sure, it doesn't have the same level of intelligence as Metal Sonic, but it was able to plan attacks and even use tactics.
Bryant: Though, due to having a limited A.I, causing it to rely more on its powers rather than its mind.
Thea: Mecha Sonic isn't an easy robot to beat. It's covered in strong armor, letting it take hits from the likes of Knuckles the Echidna, the Sonic character with the most amount of training and physical power.
Bryant: But Mecha Sonic obviously relies more on speed and agility. Being a Sonic counterpart, it was obviously meant to keep up with Sonic, one of, if not the fastest character in the roster. It shows off how it's copied from Sonic thanks to its ability to perform fast Spin Attacks.
Thea: The Spin Attack is Mecha Sonic's signature move. It uses its Spin Attacks for grounded and aerial battles with Spin Dashes and Spin Jumps. The Spin Dash is when it rolls around on the ground like a wheel of death, while Spin Jumps are when it jumps around like a bouncy wheel of death!
Bryant: It can jump many times its own height, allowing it to keep up with more aerial opponents like Knuckles and Tails. But what really makes Mecha Sonic special is its ability to enter a Super Form.
Thea: By drawing power from the Master Emerald, Mecha Sonic becomes Super Mecha Sonic Mark II! As Super Mecha Sonic, it can fly with a jet engine on its back, hover in the air, and is invincible! Plus, it can still use its Spin Attacks, blast you with energy spheres, and fire energy rings in all directions. Though it also likes dive-bombing you. But like all good things, the Super Form has a limit to how long it can run before needing a recharge. It can't fight forever.
Bryant: Mecha Sonic's speed and power made it superior to any other Badnik before it. But it wasn't perfect, and fell to Knuckles before falling to its demise from Sky Temple.
Thea: Still, Mecha Sonic is a pretty dangerous robot. You can't underestimate it, or it'll run you over.
-Line Break-
Thea: Next up in line is E-101 Beta. The first in the line of E-100 Series, this bot was built for serving on the Egg Carrier, but was beaten by his 'younger' brother, the E-1O2 Gamma.
Bryant: However, Beta still begged to serve Eggman. Intrigued, Eggman allowed this, and they underwent a transformation in an Egg Carrier robotics lab, one that made it far more powerful.
Thea: It was already pretty tough, stated to be stronger than Gamma despite losing to it. It fought with twin missile cannons and a jet booster for extra speed. But its upgrade made it a lot stronger.
Bryant: As the E-101 Mark II, Beta proved to be the strongest in the E-Series at the time. It traded its legs for a powerful set of jets and spiked gauntlets, and far more weapons and abilities.
Thea: We got energy cannons, charged energy shots, guided missiles, and a tracking system. Not to mention an energy barrier for defense and ramming attacks, and a pair of shield gauntlets. These things can swat away missiles just by backhanding. A pretty good upgrade compared to just a pair of missile launchers.
Bryant: As the Mark II, Beta proved to be an even greater match for his brother in their rematch. A rematch that came about due to Gamma realizing that his creator was, uh…
Thea: A d*ck.
Bryant: Gamma proved successful many times, but had three major events occur to them. First, they witnessed other E-series bots become dismantled and turned to scrap. Second, they witnessed Beta's reconstruction. Finally, they became friends with Amy. All this caused Gamma to turn on Eggman, and begin a rescue mission. One that eventually ended with the defeat of Beta.
Thea: It wasn't an easy win though. Beta proved that it was still a pretty stubborn bot, and still managed to blast Gamma, bringing his 'younger' brother to the verge of death. Talk about a sore loser. And Gamma was able to survive fighting Sonic! Not bad.
Bryant: Gamma might've been able to defeat Beta, but Beta still remains as one of Eggman's most impressive robots in the early days. With its surprisingly versatile arsenal, that makes Beta one of more well-rounded members of Team Eggman.
Thea: Not to mention that it's one of the robots who manage to have sentience. Sure, it's not as advanced as Metal Sonic, but this still makes it smarter than his basic bots like ladybugs and bees.
Bryant: Probably why the E-101 Beta is considered to be one of the best models that Eggman has, and why he continued the E series, even after Gamma's rebellion and Beta's second failure.
Thea: It might have a losing streak as bad as most of Eggman's robots, but its versatility and determination set it apart from the rest.
-Line Break-
Bryant: Eggman may be more than willing to take on Sonic and his friends head on in a fight. But there are times where he needs to do other things-
Thea: Like come up with another animal-based robot.
Bryant: -he'll send forward an EggRobo.
Thea: These round bots are robotic clones of Eggman, designed to do what he isn't doing himself. Because of that, they are able to drive all of his vehicles themselves.
Bryant: They originally appeared using a jetpack and a blaster, one that fires lasers. However, they can also use the EggMobile.
Thea: The EggMobile is a pretty cool ride. It can fly at speeds that let it follow Super Sonic! It can operate on the water like a battle boat, and it can attach itself to other mechs as the cockpit for extra battle. Kinda like how the Iron Man suit can fit in the Hulkbuster armor.
Bryant: For its weapons, it wields a large wrecking ball that covers a large radius around it, a cannon that fires fireballs and explosive iron balls, a large spike at the bottom, a claw which can be used to grab and carry targets, and more.
Thea: That's a lot more than the other Badniks we've covered so far.
Bryant: What's more, the EggMobile also carries homing rockets
Thea: EggRobos are designed to take Eggman's place whenever and wherever he's not there. This kinda makes them the generals of his army, and a little smarter than an average robot.
Bryant: EggRobos were a prominent force in his army, and have proven themselves capable. Though the base EggRobo is rather easy to defeat, as it only requires a single spin-dash to defeat them. Not to mention that the EggMobile, while fast enough to keep up with Super Sonic, regularly fell to base Sonic, even early in the series, implying that, while keeping up with Super Sonic is an impressive feat, he wasn't going at full speed.
Thea: Still, there's a reason why he keeps on building them. The EggRobos are some of Eggman's best, and they'll show you just how dangerous he can be.
-Line Break-
Thea: Rounding up our quadrio, we're going back to the E-series.
Bryant: This one is a bit different from the others. While designed and created by Eggman, this is a Badnik with a completely different morality. This, is E-123, simply known as Omega.
Thea: Omega is the 24th and last of the E-100 series, and was designed to counter Shadow the Hedgehog. But the bot wasn't too happy with that.
Bryant: Omega viewed this as a blatant disrespect to his abilities and potential. Combine that with being imprisoned and deactivated, and you have yourself a motive for Omega to rebel against his creator alongside Shadow and Rouge the Bat.
Thea: Bad news for Eggman. His entire body is a weapon! Omega's got rapid-fire gatling guns, flamethrowers, missile launchers, fireball launchers, wrist cannons, homing lasers, drill-shaped missiles, laser beam cannons, and explosive rounds for his guns.
Bryant: Certainly an impressive arsenal. He also has powerful body armor, which didn't decrease in quality even after being locked away for two centuries. He can also increase his speed to keep up with Shadow and Rouge with jet boosters, which he also uses for flight. He boasts impressive acrobatic skill, reflexes, hand-to-hand combat skill in the form of dash punches and spinning back-hands, and can even use Spin Attacks. He can use these skills at their best through his impressive strength, allowing him to smash boulders and keep up with the likes of Knuckles.
Thea: He also has built-in sensors and scanners that allow him to track down his opponents. That way he can track down Eggman to his heart's content. Oh man, bet Eggman started shivering.
Bryant: Unlikely.
Thea: Yeah, it's Eggman.
Bryant: Omega proved to be a worthy ally and actually a close friend to Shadow and Rouge. He and Shadow actually have a small rivalry to find who is the more powerful, a title that Omega believes he holds claim to.
Thea: Well yeah. Turns out, in the future, Omega was actually the guy who would be able to defeat Shadow and even capture him. But he's not trying to do that. He's just trying to destroy any of Eggman's robots and prove that he's the Ultimate Robot. He and Shadow really do go together like chili and hot dogs.
Bryant: He may be powerful, but he's not perfect. Omega has been implied to have a targeting system, but it's not really likely.
Thea: Why? Because his aim is crap. He prefers to spray and pray with his guns and explosives, and he doesn't even try to aim. But why would you when you have as many guns as he does?
Bryant: He's also pretty headstrong, allowing himself to charge in without any given strategy. This is dangerous when he's in a situation where his guns and strength aren't able to compensate for his recklessness. Even so, Omega is one robot that people can't underestimate.
Thea: We should give this guy his own WIB. He actually has a story we can go over in actual detail.
Bryant: Indeed.
-Line Break-
Bryant: Alright, the stage is set, time to start this dance.
Thea: Battle ready, set, GO!
-Line Break-
BOOM!
"What the heck?!" Eggman grunted as he turned in his swivel chair. A red and black robot marched inside, eyes glinting dangerously. A black and red hedgehog and a feminine bat marched in next to him.
"Dr. Eggman. It is I. I am here to prove that I, E-123 Omega, am the Ultimate Robot once and for all," Omega said. Eggman looked at him before throwing back his head and laughing.
"Oh ho ho ho ho ho! What perfect timing!"
"What?"
"I was just thinking about which of my Badniks would win in a fight."
"I have no interest in entertaining you, Doctor."
"But you will! Here we go!" Eggman laughed as he slammed a fist on a red button behind him. Three spots on the ground opened up, and three platforms rose up. Mecha Sonic, E-101 Beta, and an EggRobo. Eggman laughed more as his seat sank on another platform.
"Doctor!" Omega boomed as he fired a missile, but only succeeded to destroy the console behind the doctor as he sank fully underneath. The robot's eyes flashed dangerously as his arm spun and fell back to a neutral position. A screen dropped from the ceiling and flashed, revealing the grinning Eggman.
"Badniks! This is a simple battle royale! The winner will be promoted to be the general of my EggFleet Army!"
"Confirmed," Mecha Sonic grunted.
"Affirmative," the EggRobo beeped.
"Accepted," E-101 Beta said.
"... Objective set," Omega said. "Shadow, Rouge."
"Fine. We'll track down the doctor," Shadow grunted as he crossed his arms.
"You're free to try, Shadow! Come through these obstacles! Let's see if you can do it!" Eggman challenged as two portals opened up.
"Good luck, Omega," Rouge said as she and the hedgehog walked into the portals, leaving the four robots by themselves.
Battle start!
Fight!
Mecha Sonic made the first move, jumping forwards and dashing towards Omega in a fast Spin Dash. Omega fired back with a barrage of bullets from its gatling guns, only for the robotic hedgehog to roll side-to-side and slam into him. Omega grunted as he managed to stop himself with his jet boosters. Mecha Sonic landed on its feet, chuckling darkly. It Spin Dashed again, this time bouncing up and down, this time heading towards E-101 Beta.
"Target confirmed," it beeped. Energy gathered between its palms and blasted Mecha Sonic away with a charge shot. The blue robot flew back before getting rammed into by Omega. The red and black robot back-handed the hedgehog robot away before firing a barrage of missiles. The missiles shot all over the place, blasting the entire arena. The EggRobo blasted some out of the air with its pistol, E-101 Beta smacked them away with back-hands, and Mecha Sonic simply rolled out of the way.
E-101 Beta raced towards Omega and rammed into his robotic descendant, pushing against him as both their jets flared into life. The EggRobo turned and began running away, something that Mecha Sonic noticed. The hedgehog raced after the rounder robot with its own rocket boosters. E-101 Beta noticed the hedgehog running after the EggRobo and blasted Omega away with a point-blank charge shot. The robot skidded to a stop with his jets again and watched as the older robot flew after the other two.
"Target confirmed!" E-101 Beta said as it raised its hands up and fired a barrage of laser shots. Mecha Sonic zipped side to side before curling up into a spiky ball and shooting back towards E-101 Beta. The drone blocked with a barrier that Mecha Sonic grinded against before being thrown back. E-101 Beta took aim and fired a barrage of missiles at his blue opponent. Mecha Sonic's eyes flashed before it jumped up and down with the Spin Jump, bouncing all around the corridor and knocking the missiles away. Mecha Sonic landed as the missiles exploded around it before curling up again and charging up a Spin Dash and launching itself towards E-101 Beta. The drone raised an armored hand and back-handed Mecha Sonic away, following up with an energy blast that further launched it away. Mecha Sonic skidded to a stop and grunted.
It began charging another Spin Dash, and this time, E-101 Beta dashed forwards itself with its energy barrier up. The two rammed into each other and tried to overpower the other, only for E-101 Beta to be sent flying backwards.
"It is pointless. You cannot defeat me," Mecha Sonic said robotically. A giant wrecking ball suddenly slammed into its back, sending it flying. The EggRobo was back, this time in one of Eggman's EggMobiles. E-101 Beta began charging up a charge shot, only for the EggRobo to whip out its pistol and blast the drone, sending it crashing to the ground. The EggRobo piloted the EggMobile over the drone and pressed a button. A long spike jutted out from the bottom of the EggMobile, and the vehicle dropped downwards. E-101 Beta activated its boosters again and dashed out of the way, letting the spike impale the ground.
"Worthless scum!" Mecha Sonic yelled as it dashed forwards with jets roaring behind it. It jumped into a Spin Dash and crashed into the EggMobile, sending it flying upwards. Something glinted as it fell to the ground, catching Mecha Sonic's attention.
"Target analyzed. Beginning destruction!" E-101 Beta beeped as it took aim with its targeting system at the out of control EggMobile.
"Attention, brother." E-101 Beta turned to receive a fist to the face. Omega grabbed the bot and used his jet boosters to slam it into the wall. His top spun as he tossed E-101 Beta into the air. The EggRobo was knocked out of the EggMobile as the drone crashed into it, and the two fell to the ground. E-101 Beta got up, beeping in annoyance as the EggRobo crawled back into the vehicle.
"Come face the ultimate robot," Omega said as he fired a barrage of gatling guns and missiles. The EggRobo dodged the shots while firing back its own missiles while E-101 Beta fired back charge shots and backhanded away missiles. The three robots dashed down the corridor, firing all over the place at each other with explosions surrounding them.
"Target locked," E-101 Beta said as it locked onto Omega with its targeting system. It fired an army's worth of missiles at the young robot, only for Omega's top to begin spinning. Omega's hands backhanded the missiles away, causing them to fly all over the place. E-101 Beta blocked with its energy shield, but the EggRobo wasn't so lucky as it was pelted with missiles. The EggMobile sparked and exploded slightly as it began to spiral downwards, out of control. Omega noticed and rushed forwards.
"It is over!" he said as he took aim. His arm became a gatling gun, allowing him to shoot a barrage of bullets. The bullets shot up the EggMobile, causing it to explode again, dumping the pilot out. The EggRobo landed, only to be picked up by Omega.
"You were built in the image of the Doctor. You will suffice for now," he said. The EggRobo didn't get much of a chance as Omega unleashed a pointblank laser blast, destroying the top half of its body.
"Come now, brother," E-101 Beta said as it floated downwards. "Prepare for your-"
"DESTRUCTION!" E-101 Beta didn't even get to turn before Super Mecha Sonic charged with Spin Dash right through it, sending the broken pieces crashing to the ground as they exploded. Omega's eyes flashed red as he assessed the new, golden threat. Super Mecha Sonic laughed as it displayed a green Chaos Emerald.
"This is the end!" it said as it curled its hands into fists and fired off a barrage of energy rings. Omega's jet boosters flared to life as he rocketed past them towards Super Mecha Sonic. The two rammed into each other, but Omega crashed into the wall before falling down. He got up slowly before being rammed into by Super Mecha Sonic again, crashing through the wall before the hedgehog kicked him downwards to rocket up.
"Die!" Super Mecha Sonic said as it fired energy blasts. Omega fired a pair of lasers and waved them around, destroying the energy blasts before aiming at Super Mecha Sonic. The now yellow robot dodged with ease before curling into a ball and rocketing towards its opponent. Omega's rockets flared to life before he hurled himself to the side, barely avoiding the Spin Dash.
"Hahaha!" Super Mecha Sonic skidded to a stop and turned. Omega dashed up to it and attacked fiercely, punching it relentlessly and even spinning his top to attack with a series of back-hands. Super Mecha Sonic caught one and ripped off Omega's arm, spraying sparks and oil as the robot's eyes flashed red in shock.
"I am the mightiest!" Super Mecha Sonic said before punching Omega, cracking his armor and sending him flying. The red and black robot skidded to a stop, sparks flying from the crack in his armor.
"Grr…" he growled as he slowly got up.
"Pointless!" Super Mecha Sonic said as it curled up into a spiky ball and began spinning again.
"I will not surrender!" Omega said as he got to his feet. Super Mecha Sonic rocketed forwards as Omega unleashed every single gun he had. Missiles, bullets, lasers, and fire all blasted Super Mecha Sonic, but the robot powered through them. Omega had to dodge again, but the force sent him flying again. Super Mecha Sonic skidded to a stop, the golden glow fading away.
"As I said. Pointless!" Mecha Sonic said as it stomped forwards.
"And as I said. No. Surrender," Omega said as he took aim. Mecha Sonic laughed as it took out the emerald again.
"You will-!" Omega fired another barrage of bullets, forcing Mecha Sonic to cover its face as the bullets bounced off its body. Omega rushed forwards and rammed into Mecha Sonic, sending the two slamming into the wall. The two punched each other, but Omega overpowered Mecha Sonic and slammed it into the wall. The Chaos Emerald bounced away.
"I am Omega, the ultimate E-series robot!" Omega said as he took aim. Mecha Sonic got up and dashed forwards in another Spin Attack. Omega's arm glowed before unleashing a powerful beam. Mecha Sonic yelled as it collided with the beam and slowly pushed through. Omega's eyes flashed before the beam drastically increased in power and size. Mecha Sonic's roar faded as it was overpowered and vaporized. Omega stood as the cannon's power died down, before falling over.
"Objective One. Complete," he said before shutting down while his auto-repair began. A pair of boots landed near him.
"Huh. Neat." John said as he picked the robot up and walked out.
KO!
Thea: Huh. I thought Mecha Sonic would win that one.
Bryant: Well, every Badnik in this battle had their own advantages over the other, something fairly obvious at the beginning of the fight. Mecha Sonic had the immediate edge when it came to agility and speed, EggRobo had the intellect advantage, E-101 Beta had better options for offense and defense both at a distance and up close, and Omega had the most strength and destructive firepower.
Thea: Well yeah. But things got a bit clearer as we looked more.
Bryant: First, EggRobo might've been able to take the lead with its ability to access Eggman's larger personal arsenal. That would've given it the edge in speed and power, as the EggMobile could keep up with Super Sonic's speed and could be used to pilot Eggman's bigger mechs. However, it's important to note that an EggRobo is noticeably more fragile than the others. While the others would be able to take hits from characters as strong as Sonic or Knuckles, an EggRobo is easy to destroy with a single Spin Dash. Meaning that it'll be harder for it to continue pressing its advantage in the long run. Not to mention that the other three were capable of keeping up with characters that have routinely destroyed all of Eggman's mechs.
Thea: So the EggRobo was a no go. And while E-101 Beta definitely had a better chance at winning than the EggRobo, it couldn't compete with the speed and power of the other two.
Bryant: Keep in mind that Mecha Sonic and Omega were both designed to be counterparts to Sonic and Shadow, who are equal to each other and have proven to be so multiple times. E-102 Gamma proved to be superior to E-101 Beta twice, even with Beta's upgrades, and Gamma had to be saved by Amy in order to avoid being destroyed by Sonic.
Thea: So, that means that Beta wouldn't be able to compete as well against these two either, especially with Mecha Sonic's Super Form and Omega being the latest, and likely greatest, of the E-series of robots. That leaves us with just two.
Bryant: Mecha Sonic held the edge in speed by design, and its super form would certainly allow it to take the win against other opponents. However, Omega ultimately proved the superior at the end.
Thea: Omega was the more advanced robot, considering that he was built as the last of the E-series while Mecha Sonic was one of the earliest Eggman built. Not to mention that he had the edge in arsenal thanks to being able to keep Mecha Sonic at a range with his guns.
Bryant: The Super Form did provide quite a bit of trouble. However, keep in mind that even with its Super Form, Mecha Sonic was ultimately unable to defeat Knuckles. This is thanks to both Knuckles being able to dodge Mecha Sonic's attacks repeatedly, and due to Mecha Sonic's time limit.
Thea: So the question was whether or not Omega could keep up with Mecha Sonic's Super Form long enough to take the win. And he could totally do it!
Bryant: While we don't know the full extent of Mecha Sonic's power in his Super Form, we know that it should be comparable to Knuckles, as it was able to keep up with and even potentially defeat him. However, Omega is comparable to Shadow.
Thea: Knuckles had more brute strength, but Shadow had more speed due to being Sonic's main rival. Omega's not as fast as Shadow, but he has to be able to keep up with him if he was the guy who ultimately defeated him in the future.
Bryant: Not to mention that Omega was already stated to be similar in power to Knuckles. That means that, at best, Super Mecha Sonic and Omega were actually on equal footing. This means that Omega could survive long enough for the Super Form to wear off, thus leaving Mecha Sonic a victim to the faster and stronger Omega.
Thea: Each bot tried to fight, but Omega just proved himself to be the baddest of the Badniks. Which means the winner of this WI Battle is the E-123 Omega!
Thanks to Crush for suggesting this Battle Royale. Since three of these characters are minor bosses in the grand scheme of things, their analysis ended up being a lot shorter than they'd usually be, so I tried to keep Omega's at the same level. Anyways, it was fun writing this, as per the usual, leave a review! Azure out!

Screams were heard as people ran away from explosions and gunfire. A man dressed in a black and red outfit with red hair and an intimidating mask over his eyes walked forwards with his army of terrorists behind him. He looked over the city on fire before drawing his sword, revealing the blade to be red.
"Kill all the humans! Show them why the Faunus are to be respected!" he ordered.
"You think this will make you respected?!" a new voice demanded. A young black-haired man landed in front of him, his own sword drawn and covered with the same blue fire surrounding the new man. His friends dropped behind him, some wielding guns and others accompanied by their familiars. The first man grinned wickedly.
"Just try to get in our way!" he said as he raised his sword, causing it to glow a dark red and black light.
"Bright it!" the second yelled as his flames burned bright, filling his side of the street with blue light. The two charged and clashed blades, filling the street with an explosion of energy.
