Obito had, embarrassingly to Fuyumi, stayed for dinner where he and her father got into a debate.
"So you say but a mind needs a body that can catch up," Enji said, moving a black Checkers piece over three of the teen's own. "Hmph."
"But having a creative mind is going to do more for you no matter how strong the opposition is," Obito said as his transformed King hopped several pieces backward, taking Enji's pieces.
"I can't agree."
"I understand."
Fuyumi swallowed as her mother served her food with a worried stare.
"A-Are you sure, Fuyu-chan?" Rei asked quietly as the two men went back and forth over a checkers board. "I-I know you want to help but maybe…"
"I-I have to, mom," Fuyumi said with a determined frown. "I want… I want us to be a good family again."
Rei felt her heart shudder at the idea that her child would take it upon herself to fix her mess.
Maybe if she'd been stricter, maybe she should have monitored Touya more, Rei wishes she knew what she could have done… but those chances likely passed her by this point, unfortunately.
'What a terrible mother I am,' she thought with a sigh and nod. "Just… Obito-kun seems like he's decently strong from what I've heard, I'm sure he can keep an eye out for you."
Fuyumi nodded.
As the men's game came to an end, Enji beating Obito by two pieces, they got up from the living room before coming into the kitchen.
"Hmph, he's decently smart," her father said, much to her hope?
She didn't know, she was bringing home her fellow hero-to-be student and her father liked him.
That was… good?
"What have you prepared, Rei-san?" Obito asked and the mother of four blinked before nodding.
"Just some white rice, beef sausage, and those vegetarian beans Inko told me about," Rei said as Enji raised a brow.
"Inko?"
"She's Obito's mother."
"... Ah, from when you all went out the day before, that time," Enji said as he saw down in a powerful seat while Obito took the one in front of Natsuo and Shouto, coincidentally the one next to Fuyumi as Rei sat at the opposite end of the table of her husband. "Hmm," he considered Obito some more.
The former ninja had no idea what was going through his mind.
"Itadakimasu," the group said in unison.
Obito considered his first move, his eyes moved to the sausage that was, coincidentally, right in front of Enji.
Their eyes met and both men's gazes began to narrow.
Chopsticks shot out and, in a spectacle of disbelief, they latched onto one of the sausages.
"Don't you know your manners?"
"Aren't guests allowed the first bite?"
Fuyumi's mind was set in confusion as the two tug-of-wared over a sausage.
'What the heck are they doing?' She didn't understand.
Was this a guy thing? She didn't see Shouto and Natsuo that often before today so she didn't know!
"Why'd you and my father have a war over our food?' Fuyumi asked with a sweatdrop as Obito rubbed his cheek a bit. "You gave each other bruises! What happened?!"
"... A minor miscalculation."
"That got you a bruised cheek over food?" Fuyumi asked flatly. "Goodness, I guess there was a silly side to you… Hm, hm," she said before considering the idea and giggling. "It's way different than your super-mysterious visage."
"I show such a thing?" Obito asked with a grunt. "I'm a no-nonsense person, I guess that can come off as weird in middle school."
"It does," she said as they sat on the porch to the girl's backyard. "S-So, when we train, should I bring anything? Notebooks? Weights? A thermometer?"
"Honestly, I'll bring the weights and a few situational exercise pamphlets," Obito said with a groan. "For now, I need to worry about how I'm gonna break this news to everyone else. They're going to ream me the moment I change my mind."
Fuyumi frowned. "I'm sorry… for all of this."
"It's no issue, you were right, I can be a hero and a policeman, I was just being stubborn."
"You do know you have a right to not want to do something, right?" She asked with a frown.
"I know, Fuyumi-san, but I want to help, this is less out of having no self-will and more about me wanting to make things right," Obito answered and she hummed before the two were run at by Shouto and Natsuo.
"How are you, Shou-kun? Natsu?" Fuyumi asked and the boys hummed before going to sit on either side of the teens.
"We wanted to see if we couldn't do a little training in the backyard," Natsuo asked quietly. "We can get a little bit in before tomorrow."
"Oh… I didn't think of that," Fuyumi said as Obito nodded with a hum.
"Very well, come on, let's stand up," the oldest there said as the four of them did. "For now, stand apart and activate your quirks in the direction of the forest.
The three did before Shouto blinked.
"Um, which one?" He asked and Obito nodded.
"Your ice one."
"Okay!"
"On three. One… Two…" Obito counted, watching the three tense. "Three."
The torrent of ice and slurry rushed out before coming to an end at Obito's whistle.
"Good, one moment," he said, Sharingan fading away as he jogged to the ends of the 'streaks'. "... I see," Obito considered. "Hmm."
The three siblings watched him circle, observe, and prod each of their streams of ice.
Natsuo and Shouto watched in excitement while Fuyumi felt an iron ball in her throat.
"Okay, so, let me get the obvious things out the way," the fire-breather said as the three nodded, Rei coming to sit on the porch of the backyard. "For one, Shouto's went both the farthest and the widest," Obito said as the boy cheered. "It's also a mix of ice and snow, so you have some potential there."
Shouto smiled proudly.
"Next, Natsuo's is blue in color, I'm not sure what that means but it's more likely to turn to a slurry," Obito said as the boy blushed a bit. "It's not a bad thing, you could potentially cause a blizzard on a rainy day."
"N-No way!" The boy gaped while Shouto's eyes widened in disbelief. "T-That's so… cool!" Natsuo said with a blush at the pun as Obito snorted.
Fuyumi swallowed as he nodded to hers.
It was easily only half as long and wide as her youngest sibling's, embarrassingly enough. It was also pure ice in a worrying way.
"Finally, your sister's own is the most curious," she blinked at that. "It's pure white and almost completely made of ice. There's not a lot of snow and ice, it's a pure ice structure while being the densest of the three of you."
"R-Really?!" Fuyumi hoped that was good. "H-How can this help people?"
"It can be by making defensive and offensive things, for example, a shield and sword, maybe a large block that could trap someone inside, and so on, you just need practice," Obito explained as she nodded.
"T-That sounds useful," Rei said as Obito nodded.
"I'm curious, Rei-san, are you capable of using both ice and snow?" Rei blinked at his accurate line of thought.
"I can," she said, holding out both of her hands.
The said forms of her element came out in a steady stream that wasn't even close to as powerful as her children.
"I believe they also get the extra power from their quirks from Enji."
"I figured," Obito said as his eyes flickered to the opened curtains above. "Hmm, another ice. All of you, make your quirk into a large pile, as high as possible."
"Where to?" Natsuo asked.
"Try the top of your house," Obito said as Rei began to sweat. "As in, don't let it lean on it but make it as tall… Actually, let's move back a bit more."
The woman looked grateful.
They did the same as they had before and Obito hummed at the structures.
White flames left his mouth in small cloud shapes before he jumped on it and floated all the way to the top of the highest pillar.
"It's essentially the same as before," Obito said. "Though only in height with Shouto's being the tallest and Fuyumi's being the shortest."
The oldest cried crocodile tears as her youngest brother wore a proud smile.
"Hmm," Obito considered Fuyumi's spire. 'It's like the others, it's blunt?' He thought, looking down at the being-consoled girl. 'A mental barrier?'
Sure, she'd likely never fought a person in her life but everyone had a fighting instinct in them.
… Why did this bode as a bad omen?
"Alright, so, I think, for the night. I want you all to just exhaust yourselves, okay?" Obito asked. "Make as much ice as you can and I'll melt all of it. Is that alright, Rei-san?"
"Hmm, it should be, the grass back here was made resilient by a contractor Enji spoke with at one point. It's good at handling his and Shouto's fire quirks," Rei noted.
"Alright, you three ready?" Obito asked and Fuyumi swallowed.
"Y-Yes!"
"Yes, sir!"
"I'm ready!"
"Then on three. One… Two… THREE!"
Their hands raised and the three let loose towards the forest, the rushing frost moving at good speeds to almost be at the edge in a minute.
Obito landed in front of it.
"Katon: Gokyaku!" He shouted mentally.
He breathed in and flames rolled in his lungs.
Then he made the customary flame jutsu hand gesture by his mouth.
The three balked at the big ball of red fire that stopped their ice from continuing.
"W-Whoa, it's red," Natsuo said before his eyes narrowed and he grit his teeth. "We should try and beat it!" He said to his siblings.
Shouto nodded rapidly before jutting his hand forward along with his brother.
Fuyumi, meanwhile, shook at the sight of it.
'W-What's wrong with me?' She didn't understand as her body trembled. 'It's not an attack at us so w-why am I so…'
Scared. She began to breathe in raggedly. She was so scared and it, unironically, made her freeze up.
"... Nee… Nee-san!" Natsuo shouted at her and Fuyumi jumped as the entire thing came to an end, her siblings looking tired as Obito jogged over to meet them. "W-What happened? You stopped."
"... I-I…" Fuyumi swallowed as Obito frowned before hands rested on her shoulders. "M-Mom?"
"It's fine, it's fine," Rei said with soft tones before smiling at Obito. "I think that's enough for today, don't you?"
"Yes," Obito said with a nod as he looked at Fuyumi once more but the girl's head lowered. "There's nothing wrong, Fuyumi-san, facing our fears is likely the first thing we'll learn as actual heroes."
He walked past, patting her on the shoulder before ruffling her brothers' hair.
"I'll grab my stuff, take it easy, everyone. See you at noon."
With that, he spat a small ball of white fire into that house that shot in and out like lightning before returning with his bag in its clutches.
Even in her state, Fuyumi gawked at the odd control of fire.
"Heh, I told you, my flames are telekinetic in nature," Obito said with a smirk before spitting out a flaming cloud. "Later," he said once more.
And vanished in a burst of white circles of flames.
Watching him go, Fuyumi's hands clenched.
"Come on, everyone, time to go to bed," Rei said and the three nodded.
'What's wrong with me?' Fuyumi thought.

Now in a white nightgown, Fuyumi brushed her hair mindlessly.
Time and time again, she brushed her hair and the young woman wasn't really aware of how long she'd been looking in the mirror.
"... Fuyu-chan?" Came a soft voice from behind and she flinched and her head turned to see Rei, her mother looking concerned as she stood against the back of the closed door. "I've been calling you for the last three minutes," she said as Fuyumi grimaced and put her brush down.
"S-Sorry, mom," she said and Rei sighed before coming over and sitting on her daughter's bedside, looking at her expectantly.
Fuyumi swallowed before following her example, the two females of the Todoroki home looking down at their feet.
"I'm proud of you, you know that, right?" Rei said and Fuyumi nodded. "I… I should be doing something… anything, I'm your mother and that hasn't changed and yet my fear holds me back… especially after losing Touya."
Fuyumi's hands gripped her bed, cool mist spilling from them.
"Shh, shh, it's okay," she was pulled into her mother's side and didn't fight it. "... Tell me, Fuyu-chan, are you sure you still want to do this?"
"... I-I need to… I have to," Fuyumi said but her voice was quiet. "O-Obito-kun figured him out a-and he was gonna do it but I couldn't just let him do it alone! B-But!" She stuffed her face into her mother's shoulder and Rei let out a sigh.
'Why are the children trying so hard to fix our family?' And why was she so useless in all of it? 'I have no idea what to do…'
All she could think was to keep doing this, give her daughter the support she needed… but even Rei wasn't so sure.
"I froze up like an idiot today and Obito probably thinks I'm not cut out for it."
"Come now, you don't think Obito thinks that lowly of you, do you?" Rei asked in confusion and Fuyumi sniffled.
"He's so different and strong and smart and y-yet I can't even follow instructions! I know he wasn't going to attack us yet I just-"
"Shh, none of that, listen, my daughter," Rei said, holding Fuyumi's shoulders. "You're a bright, beautiful, young woman who can do anything she sets her mind to," the girl blushed with her head down. "... And I believe you're mistaken about Obito-kun. At the beginning of all this, he thought you hated him."
Fuyumi's head snapped up in disbelief. "W-What?! I don't!"
Rei grinned. "I know but that doesn't mean he didn't feel some kind of way in the beginning."
Fuyumi couldn't believe that… before she winced. "... I-I always avoided him in s-school… i-it's no wonder he thought I did," her head fell and Rei hummed.
"Well, he certainly doesn't hold it against you and he seems on track to the why," Rei said with a sigh. "Still, it was rather rude, Fuyu-chan… how about a little 'I'm Sorry' present?" The mother of four said with a grin.
Fuyumi tilted her head.

Obito made it home in record time, keeping his quirk use in the guise of the clouds-
"Oi, kid, you know that's illegal, right?" Came a voice from his side as he came to an abrupt stop.
Obito blinked before turning his head to see a… "Dragon?" He said in confusion. "How did I not see you coming?"
"Heh, I bet you had lots on your mind," she, it sounded feminine, said before looking down. "Come on, I can play it off like I'm dropping you off," the obvious heroine said and Obito sighed before floating over to her back. "You seem to have a pretty good grasp of your quirk."
"Thanks, as it turns out, I'll be becoming a UA hero student soon so that's gonna help."
"You don't seem too keen about it," she said as they came to a stop on the street outside his home, the dragon shrinking in size. "Wanna talk about it?"
When she did, Obito got a good view of the hero.
She was about as tall as he was minus an inch or two with fair skin, yellow eyes with slitted pupils, and blonde hair held back by a green headband.
Wearing a red qipao with white accents and a jagged yellow emblem on the bottom of the front end of it, she also wore knee-high black boots.
"H-Heh, Ryukyu, sidekick," Ryukyu introduced herself to Obito who hummed.
"Obito Midoriya."
"So, what's all this about? Just thinking in the clouds? I think you could get away with that if you stay stationary."
"No, it's… well, let's just say I made the sudden decision to become a hero to help someone," Obito said vaguely, getting a blink out of her.
"You chose to become a hero over wanting to do it originally?" Ryukyu balked at him. "Kid, I have no idea how you work."
"Not everyone needs to be a hero."
"Yeah but that doesn't mean they don't usually want to."
"Fair," Obito said. "I just decided that this change would be necessary to help them, they're in need of support as someone else who also decided to become a heroine."
"Really?" The dragoon hero scratched her cheek, showing nervous teeth. "So, you're doing this to impress your girlfriend?" She said with a blush before he shot her a look.
"One, not my girlfriend, she's barely an acquaintance, two, I'm not trying to impress anybody. I told you, she needs support," he explained with two raised fingers.
"R-Right, my bad, it's just… Who just decides to be a hero a month before the Exams?"
"I'm not worried about getting in," Obito said with a shake of the head as Ryukyu balked. "I'm confident in my ability to beat anyone there at any exams, mental or physical, it's my… acquaintance, I'm worried about."
'No, seriously, what the hell?' Ryukyu didn't think she'd ever meet such a confident teenager who suddenly decided to be a hero to help some random girl he met. "You gotta understand, this is kind of… weird."
"Haa, I know," Obito groaned as the door to his house opened to reveal Hisashi.
"My boy? It's almost twelve, what happened?" He asked.
"I got caught up in a… lot of things," Obito said with a hand rubbing the back of his head. "I'll tell you all the details in the morning but, uh, this is gonna be a sharp twist in everything I've told you… Unfortunately."
Hisashi considered him. "Alright, I guess it has to do with Fuyu-kun?" He asked and Obito grunted. "Gotcha, thank you, hero-san."
"No problem, I just found him and thought he'd need to get home," Ryukyu said with a smile and wave before she yawned. "Now, I'm done with my patrol and it's time for some well-deserved sleep."
"Take care, Ryukyu-san," Obito said with a nod and she chuckled.
"Same, good luck with your… worries?" She said unsurely but he nodded.
"Definitely something slightly negative."
"Huh, alright, later," she transformed into her dragon form before shooting into the sky.
"Hmm… So, this isn't really 'girl' problems, is it?" Hisashi asked his oldest who rubbed the back of his head.
"It's more like her 'family' problems so I'm not trying to divulge," the former Uchiha said and the man nodded.
"Welcome home, there's still some tonkatsu on the table for ya."
"Thanks, dad."
~NRK~
The next morning saw Obito sitting in the living room with his family, everyone in either green or black pajamas.
"So, I've told you all before that I'm not going to be a hero," Obito started off with a grunt as his family nodded. "... So, listen, mother, this isn't what you think," he also stated, confusing Inko.
"I don't follow," she said before considering his words. "... Wait, Fuyu-chan!?"
"She's got a part in it," Obito explained. "... Haa, screw it, come to the end of the month, I and she will be taking the UA Hero Exams."
The three went wide-eyed, mouth agape, at him in an instant.
"What?!" Inko squeaked. "B-Baby! She's not forcing you to do something, is she?!"
"I-I get the feeling this is to do with her family," Hisashi stuttered in disbelief. "My boy, what happened?"
"Haa… Fuyumi's trying to be a hero to face that trauma, we assume she had, essentially," Obito chose the story.
It was right, it was trauma but it was so much more than that.
"The thing is, I'm involved by way of wanting to help and train her family, especially because when I didn't know, I gave her advice that really came around to bite me in the rear," Obito said. "And I couldn't very well back down from my own words, that'd make me worse than scum, so I'm going to be becoming a UA student."
"THIS IS SO AWESOME!" Izuku shouted at the top of his lungs! "You're going to UA!"
"M-Mitsuki! I need to call Mitsu-chan!" Inko ran out of the room, leaving the males to sit there and process what'd been said.
"Are you okay with this?" Hisashi asked quietly and Obito grunted.
"I'm annoyed by how things played out but I would have done this regardless," his father raised a brow. "Fuyumi-san added herself on her own and, with just that, she's tied me to making sure she comes back alive and kicking."
"... Haha, my son, you're far kinder than anyone will know," Hisashi said with a chuckle. "So, is that the real story or the one that's as vague as possible?"
Let it be known that Obito's father, in this second life, was observant as hell and it showed in Izuku's own behavior.
"As I said, don't want to divulge too much."
"And it's not 'girl I like' related, is it?"
"It's not," Obito said flatly and Hisashi laughed. "I'm just an idiot on rare occasions, it's normal in a growing boy."
"Shouldn't I be saying that?" Hisashi asked with a smirk that Obito snorted at.
"Maybe."
"N-Nii-chan! You have to come up with a hero name!" Izuku said with shining eyes and a big grin. "It's gotta be super cool! L-Like, um, Flaming Might!"
The two older males broke down into laughter.
"I-I thought it was a good name," Izuku pouted before both patted his shoulders.
"Izu-Izu, trust me, there are cooler names than Flaming Might," Hisashi said with a gasp. "Lord, he's gonna put me into an early grave."
"I've got an idea to my ability, Izuku," Obito said with a smirk. "There are few names I've considered but two come to mind. 'Akatsuki' and 'Kamui'."
"Noooo waayyy," Izuku's mouth fell at the names. "T-Those are so cool~!"
"I know."
"So, which one?" Hisashi asked. "You could also bring them together somehow."
"..." Which one…
His entire existence had previously been defined by the Akatsuki, it'd been his organization, his method to peace.
… But a false peace, a floundering attempt to fix things that shouldn't have been made to be fixed that way.
Kamui… It was the beginning of all of this, wasn't it? His power allowed Madara to interact with him.
'... And yet, it was only through this power that I could correct my mistakes, hadn't it?' He thought with a frown. 'Kamui's ability had taken me all the way to my proverbial finish line.'
This loyal power hadn't been the reason he'd fallen to hell.
And he'd make sure that it never would. "The Divine Flame Hero, Kamui," Obito said with a determined nod.
"Very nice," Hisashi looked shocked and impressed all in the same measure. "Okay, okay, I'm liking your idea, especially due to how your flames can change."
"It's awesome!"
-WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE'S GONNA BE A HERO!?- Came a familiar, aggressive, voice from down the hall, Inko rushing back into the room with her phone in hand. -Brat, WHAT THE HELL?!-
"Haaa."
A quick explanation of the 'why' with a healthy dose of 'It's definitely not what you think' had Obito thankful that those around him were sort of level-headed.
"Still, that's a big change, young man," Inko said. "What are you going to do about your internship?"
"I'm still doing it," Obito said. "As Fuyumi-san said, there's still police work even within the hero spectrum, better to know it from now."
-That sounds reasonable… No, it doesn't, do you really want to do this?- Mitsuki asked.
"No but I need to," Obito said with finality. "As I said earlier, this will also allow me to prepare the boys for entering UA if nothing else."
-R-Really, Obito-nii-san?!- Katsuki's voice came from the phone. -So, you're really going to do it?-
"I will be, Katsu-kun."
-Hell yes!-
-Mind your language, Katsuki- Came Masaru's voice over the line, the sound of a teacup being put to a plate being heard. -Well, I hope you can find your path during all of this, Obito-kun. Being a hero's no light thing-
"I understand if nothing else, I'll treat this as a new experience, I'm not worried about passing any possible battle exams," Obito said, confusing the group. "Do you all honestly think the Exams won't have some sort of battle in it?"
"Well… Actually, no, that makes a lot of sense," Hisashi considered as Izuku tilted his head.
"A battle… A-Against other people?" He asked and Obito shrugged.
"Maybe, maybe not. Maybe it will be against the robots we see during the Festivals. I don't have that information but I can make guesses. There are all kinds of quirks, I'd assume that there are different tests for different types."
-That does make sense- Mitsuki said. -Hmph, well, we'll be by later, you have your group training date, don't ya?-
"Please don't call it that."
-Hehehehe-
-I'm coming this time!- Katsuki declared and Masaru's chuckles could be heard over the phone.
-I'll take him over if you don't mind-
-Sure, I've got work, still, after all. Thanks, hon-
"Then our day is settled," Inko said with a smile. "Still, you met Endeavor, how'd it feel?"
"He's certainly impressive," Obito said. "That man is the most muscular I've ever seen in real life, it's kind of ridiculous."
Yes, even among the shinobi of the past, Endeavor had muscles that could compete with the best of them, so that was actually pretty high praise.
"Alright, we'll get ready, when are we supposed to meet them?" Hisashi asked.
"Noon."
"Then let's eat and clean up."
And so they did for close to two hours, cooking, eating, cleaning, and dressing took place before the group reassembled in the living room.
Then there was a knock on the door, confusing the family.
"Who?" Inko wondered before gasping. "Oh, wait, it has to be Masaru!"
Obito nodded, getting up and walking to the door. Turning the knob, he opened it to reveal… The Todorokis… along with a crowd of people gaping at the aforementioned family at his doorstep.
The group was dressed similarly to his own family in light blue tracksuits and white sneakers while Fuyumi and Rei had their hair tied back into ponytails…?
"What's that?" Obito asked as Fuyumi blushed and handed him the box. "?"
"I-It's a 'Sorry' gift for how I might have treated you in the past," she said with a completely red face as Enji raised a brow.
"What did she do?" He muttered in thought as Rei smiled nervously.
"I see, thank you," Obito said as he held the door with his back. "Come in, it was about 30 minutes before we were gonna walk to the Quirk Coliseum."
The family came in, Enji humming as he walked in, shocking the other Midoriyas.
"Hmph, cozy, I suppose," Endeavor said as he looked at the surrounding living room.
"You can sit on the couches, I'll pack the rest of the supplies," Obito said simply as he moved and put the box he'd been given on the counter. "Hmm," he opened it and was assaulted by smells that took his attention. "I've never received 'I'm Sorry' Chicken before," he said in amusement.
The arrangement of the sweet-smelling poultry had been done like a big four-leafed clover with a garnish in the middle and some lemons in the middle of each 'pedal'.
"I tried something a little different since I knew we were training today," Fuyumi said with a slight stutter and a hand combing through her bangs.
He locked onto the slight burns on her palm, several around the bottom.
"Thank you," he said with a nod, wanting her efforts to be fully appreciated. "Honey lemon, correct?"
"Y-Yeah."
He nodded and took one of the slices before humming.
"Ah, you like yours more sour than sweet," he noted and Fuyumi nodded. "Same," Obito said as he tossed it into his mouth. "Hmm, this is good."
"I'm glad!" Fuyumi said with a small smile. "What else needs to be packed?" She asked and Obito hummed.
"Just things from the deep freezer," he said, moving to a large freezer by the fridge. "It's just getting all the stuff and ice… You don't mind, do you?" He asked with a chuckle and Fuyumi nodded.
"S-Sure."
Watching the two go, Rei and Inko smiled while Hisashi chuckled before turning to Endeavor.
"So, Enji-san, how has your latest workday gone?" He asked and Enji hummed, taking up most of a couch that his sons barely managed to keep stable on the other side of. "No real predicaments, right?"
"Hmph… It was simply more patrolling, any real cases are likely to come tomorrow," Enji said after some thought, getting a raised brow out of Hisashi.
"That's specific and expected."
"Of course, as it turns out, oddly enough, villains aren't exactly fans of Mondays and Tuesdays. Wednesday is when we typically get more reports."
"That's interesting."
"Shouto-kun, Natsu-nii, do you know what you're gonna do today?" Izuku asked the two Todoroki brothers who tilted their heads in unison with the latter blinking.
'Natsu-nii?' Natsuo kind of liked that. "U-Um, Obito-san didn't tell us yet. We did basic stuff last night, though."
"The height, stream, and stamina tests," Izuku nodded with a grin as they blinked.
"Oh, right, Obito-nii would tell you," Shouto said and Izuku smiled. "Do you know?"
"Hmm, typically, me and Obi-nii just spar or workout."
"He did say we were doing mental stuff, didn't he?" Natsuo considered and both younger boys nodded.
"Oh, right, he's got puzzles!" Izuku said with shining eyes as Enji raised a brow.
"Hmm," he cupped his chin. "Puzzles, to increase their mental skills. I question how that will affect their reaction speed."
"It's likely gonna be timed," Hisashi said with a chuckle. "Even the simplest of things, like a puzzle, can be a test if you're timed and given a reward at the end."
"I take it he does so often?" Enji considered.
"He does, usually it's either scenario questions, puzzles, or timed flame obstacles."
"Timed flame obstacles?"
"Obito has a telekinetic grasp over his flames to an extent," Inko informed. "I'm not sure if you knew. For him, he can make the flames as weak as a tickle or as hot as a bucket of boiling lava. He's capable of making shapes with weight and not. It's just about perfect for making a little obstacle course."
Obito's eyes widened for a moment at a thought. "Yes, it is… And, Fuyumi-san, you're going to help," he said with a nod as Fuyumi balked at him.
"B-But I've never done anything like that before!" She squeaked.
"Exactly," Obito said and she slumped. "You'll be doing a ton of things you've never done before, now is the time to get all that out of the way. For you, this should actually be an apt exercise, though, it'll incorporate a final mechanism."
"Final mechanism?" Enji considered with a thought. '... Ah, I see,' his eyes flexed in surprise before he nodded. "A trap house of sorts."
"Trap house?" Rei blinked. "... Oh, that'd probably be the safest way for Fuyumi to catch up," she said with a smile as Fuyumi blinked.
"Trap house?" The female teen rolled the words on her tongue. "Like, just making traps?"
"That will be a part of it but, no, your end goal for our training, Fuyumi-san, is to make a domain that you control all the space in. You aren't ready for an up-front confrontation so we'll deal with that bit by bit, until then, you need to learn how to play keep-away and got-me."
"Got-me?"
"O-Oh!" Izuku said. "Nee-san means tricks and stuff."
"Sleight of hand?" Rei said.
"No, illusions via her ice," Enji considered.
"If she can mislead people into a big trap, then it'd be a good way of staying out of the opposition's grip," Hisashi said with a chuckle. "That's certainly creative."
"... O-Okay," Fuyumi said with a determined frown. "I'll do it!"
"Good."

Getting to the Quirk Coliseum, the group, sans Enji, saw a familiar trio flanked by one more.
She was about as tall as Yu was and had long black hair that fell to the middle of her back.
When she turned along with the waving Kaoruko, Obito saw her violet eyes and white skin that sported a beauty mark under her left eye.
Wearing a purple tank top, black yoga pants, and black flats, she had several weight bangles around her biceps.
"Wait, holy shit, that's ENDEAVOR?!" The four girls balked as Obito snorted. "Y-You guys never said anything about this!"
"W-We didn't know!" Yu said with a squeak. "W-Wait, Obi-kun? Fu-chan? What's going on?"
"I'm handling a training session of sorts," Obito said outright and the new woman looked at him.
"... oh, you're that weirdo," she said and Hisashi started laughing along with Natsuo, Yu, Kaoruko, and Izuku. "Yeah, that guy who's super-fit but doesn't want to be a hero, yeah?"
Time for this reveal. "Well… There's been a slight change in plans," Obito said and the girls froze. "There are reasons behind this… but I'm going to be joining the upcoming Exams with Fuyumi-san."
"YESSSS!" Yu jumped for joy, body growing to Endeavor's height as she wrapped the two teens up in her bosom. "Yes! We now have a kickass team!"
"H-Help!"
"Yu, for the love of God!"
~NRK~
Obito's eyebrow twitched as he carried the 'grower' in a bucket-shaped gout of white flames.
"H-Hey, I was joking! I'm sorry! Don't cook me!" Yu cried in horror as Obito growled while Fuyumi ran a hand down her face.
"Learn from your mistakes," he said with a hiss before releasing her, flames falling away leaving not a hint of burning on her outfit or skin. "Do that again and I'm hanging you from the UA flag pole."
"Eeep!" She vanished behind their newest addition. "Y-You wouldn't do that! They'd trace it back to you!"
"Is that the only reason?" Yoha asked with a sweatdrop. "Like, nothing else?"
"What else would there be?!"
"... Right, this is hilarious," Kaoruko grinned, bubbly beyond reasoning as she snickered next to Obito. "Senpai! What happened?!"
"Circumstances and support," Obito said with a grunt as Fuyumi blushed. "Fuyumi wanted to be a hero and since I was training her, much more crash course-level training, I don't think it's safe to leave her alone like this."
The literal bubbly girl whistled. "Damn, talk about crazy luck!" She said with a grin as Obito raised a brow. "Think about it, you've been training us, yourself, everyone, for years and, last minute, you find a student that will cause you to be a hero. It's kind of romantic."
"Calm yourself."
"Hehe~"
Fuyumi blushed at the insinuation while Rei and Inko giggled.
"Well, we've got a personal room thanks to Enji-san, best to make the most of it, yeah?" The mother of two said.
"Hmph, alright," Obito said as he took off a backpack he had on, confusing the girls as he pulled out a large, thick, binder. "Time for some word puzzles."
"Eh?" The woman, yes he'd figured out she was a woman and not a girl, blinked. "What, you're also a literal tester?"
"It's a mental exercise to improve their thinking speed," Obito said and she hummed. "... Actually, before we continue, I don't know your name."
The woman blinked before laughing. "Haha! Not bad, I totally forgot, too," she said before shooting him a wink. "The name's Nemuri Kayama, hero name Midnight, I was helping my potential interns with some training and they've told me all about you."
"I see, loose lips, you three, goodness."
"Hey, we can talk about a pal who's totally gonna be on my hero team!" Yu said with a pout as Obito rolled his eyes.
"Right, so, I've developed several tests for anyone who wants in," Obito said with a nod to the Todorokis and his family.
The four girls decided to join in.
With pencils, clipboards, worksheets, and a timer out, Obito nodded.
"Ten minutes for ten puzzles. Each puzzle contains an anagram, noun, and location of a place. On the bottom of your sheets are the hints to each. The questions move up in difficulty per puzzle and you'll find that you'll be scored based on timing and how far you got," Obito said, standing in front of everyone, even Enji decided to get in on some of this. "This is a general test so, for those who aren't used to these kinds of things, don't feel bad. This is your first rodeo, so to speak."
"What's the prize?" Nemuri asked. "Money?!"
"Nope but I'll cook you breakfast, lunch, and dinner of your choi-"
"YES!" Yu's eyes shined. "Bring on the food!"
"R-Really?!" Kaoruko asked with a big grin as Yoha chuckled, her snakes dancing in amusement. "This is a totally worth it prize, Endeavor-san!"
Enji raised a brow at that before Shouto nodded.
"Obito-nii makes amazing food!" The boy said with wonder and Enji hummed.
"We'll see, won't we?"
"Alright, everyone ready?" Obito said with a look to all of them. "Alright, timer starts now!"
Pencils hit paper and Obito nodded to the muttering group.
Enji found the first three puzzles done in under a minute, their ease kind of disappointing before he hummed at the fourth puzzle.
Noun - A word for the length of a circle.
'Diameter.'
Location - the name of the second-ranked Hero school in Japan
'...' Second-ranked… 'Ah, Shiketsu,' he'd almost forgotten about that school.
Anagram - Seven letters, where the ocean and sky meet
'Where the ocean and sky meet?' Enji considered that question. 'Where the two meet… the boundary?' He checked around his puzzle with a frown. 'No, too long. Divide is too short… Seven letters.'
Something poked at the back of his brain…?!
'Horizon!' He looked for it and his brain reorganized the letters he'd seen before smirking as he circled the letters. 'Sneaky bastard.'
Okay, he was kind of impressed.
Fuyumi blanked at one of the questions.
Noun - This is divided by 'X'B/2 to find the area of a triangle
'... U-Umm… think, think,' Fuyumi bit the end of her pencil before her eyes widened. 'Height!' She smiled as she found it.
Location - A place where heat, rock, and fire meet
'... Volcano?' She checked and wore a shaky grin, circling the word. 'O-Okay, now for the easy one.'
Yu wanted to rip her hair out.
'What do you mean 'When birds fly south!?',' she wanted to go up there and choke her classmate. 'Dude, don't do this to me… Wait,' Yu's head snapped up off her desk.
Noun… Migration!
She smirked to herself, cackling under her breath. 'You're gonna make me as much food as I want, ya sonuvabitch.'
Nemuri sweatdropped at the dark energy emanating from Yu. 'Alright, cool it, cool it,' she looked back at her puzzle, moving onto the fifth one by the fifth minute. 'Still, this guy… he's scary good at giving enough hints while leaving out the keywords.'
And that anagram shit, ooh boy, she hated that.
The group's timer rang out and Shouto, Natsuo, Izuku, Yu, Nemuri, Rei, Hisashi, and Inko wore relieved expressions.
Enji, Fuyumi, Kaoruko, and Uwabami looked at their puzzles once more before nodding.
"Let's start with those of you who finished first," Obito said before chuckling a bit. "This is an ironic turn of events," he said as he looked at Enji and Fuyumi. "You two finished by the nine-minute mark, at the same time."
Enji blinked and looked at his… oldest who shot him a weird look of embarrassment.
He cupped his chin in thought.
"As for your scores, 100 points each," Obito said with a hum. "I'm not surprised by Enji-san's score but Fuyumi… I'm curious, did you find one part of all this easy?"
"U-Um!" The girl stammered. "A-Anagrams are like little lines, I like connecting them a-and thought they weren't that bad."
"Hmm, they were a rather good test of my mental speed," Enji said with a nod of approval. "These kinds of things are perfectly workable for her situation."
Rei, Shouto, Natsuo, and Fuyumi sighed in relief.
"I'm glad to have your praise," Obito said with a smirk that Nemuri hummed at. "Next, Kaoruko… chan," the girl grinned. "You finished just by the ten-minute mark but you got four of the locations wrong along with three anagrams."
"Y-Yeah, I was trying to at least finish, ya know? And Anagrams are my enemy, especially like this," the blue one said with a nervous chuckle.
"You still finished, as you said, 80 points," Obito nodded and she cheered. "Finally, Yoha, you had some interesting speed, I noticed your snakes also read along."
"Yup, hm, hm," Yoha giggled a bit as her snakes wiggled. "I share senses with them so I can have them kind of proofread when I read. They've helped a ton with assignments."
"I can tell, you only had two locations and anagrams wrong with one noun… 85 points."
"That wasn't fair, dude!" Yu said with righteous tears of fury. "I can't beat FREAKING ENDEAVOR! Smarts are totally lopsided!"
Enji smirked and Rei chuckled nervously at that fact.
Petty much?
After giving out the rest of the scores, Obito spoke about the prize.
"So, I can have a day for both of you, just let me know when you want a free three-meal day," the reincarnate said and Enji hummed.
"Any Sunday works," the hero said with a hum. "Your cooking is given praise, I'll be the judge of that, though."
"I look forward to surpassing your expectations."
"Heh."
"And, for you, Fuyumi-san?" Obito asked and the girl blinked for a moment.
She swallowed. "T-Then we'll do it the same day as dad's day off," Fuyumi declared as Enji raised a brow at her. "I don't want you to have to go out of your way so often, especially since you're training us, a-and dad typically likes similar things to me, anyway."
"Hmph, alright," Obito said with a nod. "Well, onto the next exercises. Time to see your actual reaction times," he said as he beckoned Fuyumi forward.
She swallowed before getting up and walking towards him, the fire-breather nodding.
"Your quirk is far denser and more stable than your brothers and mother. So your quirk is probably the best for making structures as I said before, making a zone where you alter it out of view."
He breathed in before breathing out a large spiral ball of red flames that made kept rotating after he cut off the oxygen.
Then he made the Tiger hand seal and the flames went from red to white before spreading out in a wide circle that shot out white balls of fire at random intervals.
"Focus, Fuyumi. Keep a shape in your mind and bring it out through your quirk," he said as he spread out his hands before slamming them back together.
The fire burst on contact, blowing her hair back a bit but she felt no heat. Fuyumi swallowed before raising her hands.
White ice exploded outward before she grimaced.
It shot out of her hands before curving around in a wide arc, not dissimilar to his former technique. Then the floor within the circle began to frost over before her arms started to tremble.
The thickness of the ice 'walls' was pretty good and Obito hummed as he sneakily spat out a small, needle-thin, flame.
"Ahh!" Fuyumi jumped and fell on her rear, eyes closed as she trembled, the ice creation she'd made causing a low mist to spread. "T-That's hard!"
"Yes, it is," Obito said with a smirk as she blinked at him. "But it confirmed something I was curious about with your quirk."
"You noticed something?" Enji said in confusion, looking at the boy who'd been impressing him as of late. "What specifically?"
"Fuyumi's ability with her quirk is different from her siblings," Obito said, confusing the Todoroki family. "Shouto can't do what she just did, Fuyumi has the ability to shape and sense with her quirk, to an extent."
Fuyumi stared at him in disbelief as Enji choked along with Rei while Natsuo and Shouto gasped in shock.
"What makes you say that?" Nemuri asked. "So, it's a mutation?"
"No, well a little bit, after all, Endeavor can also shape his flames, can't he?" Obito said and the man himself looked at Fuyumi, his daughter doing the same to him. "I had a feeling about it but even between the three of you, your quirks are different."
"All that in under a day, senpai!?" Kaoruko said in shock and awe. "I knew it! You're built for this kind of stuff!"
"I-I don't understand," Rei said as Inko hummed.
"Rei, being honest, how often do any of you really use your quirks?" The green-haired woman asked as Rei blinked in disbelief. "Exactly. In the same way, you can use both ice and slurry, Shouto can use powerful fire and ice, Fuyumi can do this, and I'm sure Natsuo also has a thing for himself. You all just never use them."
Natsuo and Shouto looked at one another. "B-But what's different about mine?" Natsuo asked and Obito nodded.
"You can make pure snow and affect the air around your quirk," Obito said and the Todoroki family gawked at him. "The fact remains, no quirk is the same as another, especially when two different quirks give birth to yours."
Endeavor covered his mouth in thought.
'I… I never knew,' he realized with some disbelief as Obito helped Fuyumi off the floor. 'Every quirk isn't the same… no, that should have been obvious.'
Even if his children had all inherited one quirk or the other, it wouldn't be smart to say that's it. They likely got several attributes from both that were inherited but never seen… because he'd not considered them…
You should have.
Enji's eyes narrowed at a small voice at the back of his head.
Maybe if you had-
'Nothing would have changed,' he told himself before shaking away his thoughts as the others chatted. '... Still, it's all because of the boy.'
Had Obito not supported Fuyumi then they'd never know about this.
Still… Enji wasn't unaware of how his methods were viewed by his kin. They just needed to see reason!
Perhaps Obito could change things in such a fashion as well.
"You understood that with just two tests?" Hisashi asked.
"Well, no, I'll also apologize, Fuyumi-san. I shot a small flame at the structure to confirm my findings," Obito said with a bow and a hand on the back of his head.
'No, seriously, what is this kid?' Nemuri considered in disbelief.
All of that in two showings? How could anyone see that coming with just two examples?! That went beyond being smart!
"That's insane, nii-chan!" Izuku said with a hum. "Like, I didn't think you could see that."
"It's something I need part of my quirk for," Obito said as his Sharingan blazed to life. "The small minutiae are all seen by my eyes."
"That's right, the thing is, Obito is someone with a quirk mutation," Hisashi explained as the Todorokis blinked. "Yes, this part of his quirk, his Sharingan as he calls it, is not something I nor Inko have any part in."
"It's all him," Inko said. "And its ability is… well, ridiculous, for lack of a better word due to its main purpose."
"What'd ya mean?" Yu asked. "How good can his eyesight really be?"
"... Well…" Obito rubbed the back of his head. "I can see blood cells."
"..."
"..."
"... Excuse me?" Yoha asked as her snakes stood up on end. "You want to say that again?"
"I can see the bloodstream through my skin," Obito reiterated as Nemuri and Kaoruko choked. "My eyes allow me to see small molecules of oxygen that I can use to turn my flames white but, in that same vein, pun not intended, I can also see the other things at that same level."
"That's ridiculous!" Rei said in disbelief as Enji's own mouth dropped. "T-The sheer possibilities for a random person to have such vision is!"
"It's something that could be seen as being as helpful as Recovery Girl," Enji said with bright eyes.
"W-Wait, hold on, how the heck did ya come to that conclusion?" Yu asked.
"... No, think about it, constant vigilance no matter where on the body he's supposed to be seeing, why he could probably monitor several patients at once and see the changes in their bodies!" Yoha said with a gasp. "Obito-kun! No wonder you wanted to be a cop!"
"Yes, that was the original intention, right?" Nemuri said. "Man, if I was a criminal I'd be terrified of you, you could probably find a missing piece of an atom that'd lead you back to me."
"Hmph, it'll be useful during investigations, that's the type of hero I'm planning to be," he said.
"I-I want…" Fuyumi began to say only for her eyes to widen at an idea. 'W-Wait, will that help?' Her eyes twitched to her father.
Her father was what she liked to designated as a 'Battle Hero', heroes who fought every day, did patrols and were called in for big villains.
If she were to say that she wanted to be a teacher, would she be ruining her chances?!
"I-I want to see what it's like being a normal hero who does patrol and stuff," Fuyumi said with a cough as Obito shot her a knowing look before he nodded.
"Hero work is more than just patrolling, Fuyumi," Enji said and Fuyumi blinked. "You won't get anywhere by just doing patrols, you need cases, reputation, use your analytical mind to find leads and defeat opponents not everyone knows about!" He said with a raised fist in declaration and flames shooting up off his head.
Fuyumi sweatdropped. "D-Dad?"
"... Right," he cut off the flames and grunted at Rei's giggling. "The point is, there are heroes who have both… if you will 'part times'. For example, Midnight does patrol but also is in administration."
"U-Ugh!" Nemuri shivered. "I hate paperwork! Why are we dealing with that boring stuff?!"
"Hmph, then decide to specialize more," he said.
"W-Wait, doing normal stuff won't get me into the rankings?!" Yu shrieked and Enji rolled his eyes as Uwabami chuckled.
"No, not unless you're so good you can appear everywhere in a matter of seconds," the snake girl said as Enji grunted again. "Me, I'm gonna make my own way. Beauty's never not gonna be important! So, I'm gonna get my face out there in rescue and on TV!" Yoha said with a big grin as Endeavor hummed.
"It's certainly a way to raise popularity."
"Well, she'd also need to plan well, no?" Rei said and he nodded. "Rescue, battle, and television sound like a lot, Yoha-kun."
"I-It is, I know… Which is why I'm planning on having a hero team!" She said as Yu cheered.
"Yes! Me, you, Kao-chan, Obi-Obi, and Fuyu-chan! Think of it, we could cover all our bases!" The giantess said and Obito considered it for a moment, cupping his chin, as Hisashi chuckled.
"It'd be a good start, at least. Maybe you'll all go separate ways, maybe you'll even find each other insufferable, it's still the safest way to not only begin your careers but you can also help Fuyumi-kun in that time as well. Enji-san, Nemuri-kun, Yoha-kun, are there specialized courses for students who want to make teams?"
"Hmm, I don't know," Yoha said with a chuckle. "It's only been one year for me."
"I know that they do," Nemuri said with a sad grin. "I knew a pack of guys who used to want to be a team. They got the choice to make a 'Temp Team' for the second half of the second semester and could be given small patrols… You know, small league stuff."
Obito nodded, not saying anything about Nemuri's pained grin.
"Alright, come on, Fuyumi, your job is to create an entire obstacle course," he said as she nodded nervously. "For the sake of simplicity, I'd consider an obstacle course as a long track with a series of three obstacles before the end goal, at least the bare minimum ones."
"T-That seems doable," she said with some surprise.
"We all start somewhere."
He went on to give everyone but the Todorokis their orders before focusing on the new group.
"So, for starters, what are your goals, everyone?" Obito asked and the family, minus Enji, looked confused. "For example, I want to make a blast of ice that can topple a building, I want to take down anyone without them seeing me, achievable goals."
"... Achievable?" Rei asked with a tilt of the head and some nervous laughter. "O-Obito-kun-"
"No, he's got a point," Rei hated how she knew Enji would react. "There's no point to training for the sake of it. You need something to aim for, something that seems plausible even if it's, metaphorically, impossible."
"M-Metaphorically impossible?" Natsuo said before looking down with a grunt from his father's gaze. "W-What could that mean?"
"... A goal where it's something everyone does but isn't as simple as that, right?" Fuyumi asked and Enji hummed impressed. "R-Right?"
"Yes," he said with his eyes at Obito. "What are your goals, I'm curious."
"Well, for my foreseeable future, I believe that solving the most cases in Japan will be adequete," Obito said, his and Enji's eyes locking. "As you said, Endeavor-san."
"Hm, hm, good," Endeavor said with a smirk. "That's a goal, a target, and ambition."
"Of course but can't get too far ahead of myself," Obito said as he looked at the family altogether. "What's everyone's goals? Or do you need some time or help to come up with one?"
"... F-For now, I guess being capable of turning a hot day into a cool one," Rei said and sweatdropped at her husband's contemplation.
"Changing the weather, ey?"
"What?! No, not that far!" She squeaked. "S-Something like just around the house, Enji!" Rei whined and he blinked.
"Ah, yes, that's reasonable."
'Ya think?' Obito sweatdropped.
Was the Number 2 kind of an Ambition Airhead?
"T-Then I want to make a snow day for my school!" Natsuo said before chuckling nervously at his parents' stares. "N-Not like I w-want to do that or anything!"
"Hmph, do it and I'd tell you to keep doing it," Enji said and Rei's eyebrow began to twitch. "Hmph, snow days, ey?"
"Enji."
"I'm not saying anything scandalous, that's a powerful motivator, getting out of middle school. Nothing more or less."
Why did it feel like her husband was a special type of idiot?!
"T-Then I want to do the first thing you said!" Shouto declared and Obito hummed before nodding.
"You're following the right path, that's for sure, you've got power in spades, Shouto-kun," Obito said and the boy grinned. "I guess, in your case… then I think I have an idea."
Enji grinned before shooting out his flames at the target before ice and slurry collided a moment later, the puppet barely saved from melting completely but that wasn't his loss.
"You take too long! You need to plan ahead! Think, Shouto, think!" Enji said before he blasted the dummy once more before Shouto's ice slammed into it. "Good!"
As the two went at it, Obito had Natsuo holding a glass of water and, above it, was a floating ball of white flames that Obito had left there.
"You're going to practice freezing the steam, alright?" Obito said and the boy nodded, focusing on the water as he sat down. "Focus only on the mist, Natsu-kun. And, when you do, I want to see if you don't have a slight telekinesis like your sister. Try to swirl it around and, if that doesn't work, try waving your hand around in a circle, alright?"
"Yes, sir," the boy said with a nod and super focus.
Obito ruffled his hair with a chuckle before walking over to a nearby sauna.
Peeking in, he frowned at the gasping Rei, the woman's hands trembling as she applied her quirk over her head for a temporary bout of relief.
"Are you alright, Rei-san?"
"I-I can't say yes, can I?" She asked with a shaky grin. "Oh, an open door, that feels so nice."
She'd even taken off her jacket but that didn't help and she felt herself melting away.
"I think you should come out now and try using your quirk," Obito said with a sweatdrop as she wobbled to her feet before he helped her out, letting her sit down by the door with a long breath.
She took up the large water bottle at her side and downed a third of it in under three seconds.
"Puwah!" She released her lips and felt so invigorated! "Water's never tasted so good before!" Rei cried tears of joy as Obito chuckled.
"How long were you in there for?"
"Give or take… ten minutes."
"Alright, you know what to do," Obito said as he walked off towards the sound of shattering.
"Yeaaaaahh~" Rei gasped in joy and satisfaction as she covered herself with her quirk.
He shook his head in amusement.
When he finally made it to the sounds… well.
"Yeah! Yeah! Die!" Came the shout of Katsuki Bakugou in a red shirt and sweatpants, his hands shooting forward rapidly to use his quirk against one of Fuyumi's ice walls.
He made good progress as it cracked loudly before shattering, the young blonde breathing out tired breaths of victory.
"Is everything fine over here, Katsuki?" Obito asked and the boy grinned as Izuku kept slamming his fists into a similar ice wall to the destroyed one. "Hehehe~ I knew you couldn't keep up with me, Dek-"
The boy's bandage-covered fists lashed out one more time before the ice wall cracked like the blonde's hand and Izuku grinned tiredly.
"I-I'm getting there, Kacchan," he said with a determination that the other boy snorted at… but he came over and looked at his childhood friend's wall. "I-I've been doing what you taught me, nii-san, if there's a weak point, hit it! If there isn't, make one!"
"Correct, let me see your hands," Obito said with a proud nod before kneeling down and undoing the moss head's bandages. "... Hmph, your bones are still growing," he said as he saw noted the bruising on the boy's knuckles but they were only at that point.
In the beginning, Obito had Izuku focus on packed sand in pots, punching them down to the bottom.
Then, they worked on the trees in the park which he was still working on.
Fuyumi's walls made a nice 'next step' that he had both boys trying to break.
"This is your first wall, yes?" Obito asked and Izuku nodded, the older sibling redoing his bandages before he breathed out a ball of red flames.
It moved over Izuku's knuckles, burning white, before staying there.
"Take a rest, you two," Obito said with a smile as he walked off only to be followed by them. "... Very well."
They moved to another portion of ice walls that were set up in a semicircle.
The two brothers nodded as Hisashi whistled out a thin stream of flames that punched through one wall while Inko sweat as she swiped her hand down and to the side.
Another wall gained a huge carving a moment later, getting a smirk out of Katsuki.
"Yes! I reign supreme!"
Hisashi started laughing barely a moment later as Inko giggled.
"How's everything over here?" Obito asked as Izuku ran up to their mother, flames following his knuckles the whole way. "Any progress, mom?"
"H-Hmm, a bit, I guess," Inko said with a nervous smile as she raised her hands and black material flew out of the cut she'd made in an ice wall to her hand. "I-It's really not easy, Obi-kun, I can't seem to get a hang of this."
The minuscule metal particles formed around her fingertips before sweat fell from Inko's brow as it reached mid-palm before stopping.
"Haaa…" She let out a breath before Obito, Katsuki, and Izuku examined her work. "I-It's hard but I'm glad you explained to me about automating it. That's helped a ton, hon."
"I'm glad," Obito said before looking at his, posing magnificently, father. "I take it things have been going well?" He asked with a smirk as Katsuki and Izuku snickered.
"As a matter of fact, my boy, things are," Hisashi said with a chuckle. "Using whistling! That's genius! Of course, it's not that simple."
"Of course."
"But I'm liking the stopping power," Hisashi said with a grin. "Now, as for that Flame Bullet, I'm working on it. Building flames throughout my body's oxygen supply isn't exactly… normal, yes?"
"It isn't but that's the point, there's oxygen all about your body that can be used, you just need to stretch more and learn more about breathing. You can reach flames that are hotter than mine, best to use that to its fullest."
"Heh~ As always, you're always so meticulous," Hisashi said with a thumbs-up. "I think it's time to check in on your lady friend," he said with wiggling eyebrows as Inko started giggling some more.
"Save it," Obito said with a flat face and a roll of eyes. "Izuku, Katsuki, actually rest this time with mom and dad. I'm probably gonna need to talk with Fuyumi for a bit."
"Alright," the boys said with nods.
"Be right back whenever," with that, he was off.
"Ne, ne, dad, mom, is Fuyumi-nee Obito-nii's… g-girlfriend?" The two's child said with a blush and stutter.
"Hm, hm, hm, well, it's mostly teasing," Inko said, patting both boys' shoulders. "Obito's so mature for his age, we worry that he might not be interested in such things because of that gap between him and other kids."
"Yup, your brother's a real cut of prime rib," Hisashi said as Inko snorted. "Yet, like he's said before, he likes the big picture but I think he does so way too much. He needs to live his life and Fuyumi-kun presented an interesting change in him."
"He's takin' care of her," Katsuki said with a tilt of the head. "I kind of get it, Fu-nee isn't ready so he's gonna be talking with her a lot… but he did that with me and Deku! How is this any different?"
"Well, he did help raise you two but Fuyumi is Obito's peer and that comes with different kinds of obligations," Inko added. "Add on that she's also a girl, the daughter of one of Japan's most successful heroes, and has a powerful quirk, she's gonna be an odd person for him to deal with."
"Yup, so your bro's gonna have his work cut out for him, this is completely new territory for Obito," Hisashi said and both boys nodded.
"Got it."
He heard that telltale sound of sparkles and sheens along with feeling a slight rumble from the ground.
"Fuyumi-san," he said out loud, hearing the jump and stutter from within the mist that surrounded his feet. "Are you alright?"
"I-I'm fine… I-I'm sure!" She said but Obito's eyes narrowed as he heard the chill in her voice.
His eyes burned red before he breathed out burning red flames that caused steam to kick up around him, warming the air.
"A-Ahhhh," he heard her moan before hurrying in that direction to find his wayward student. "I-I'm sure I could have handled it," Fuyumi told him but the way her gaze didn't meet his told Obito that she knew what was wrong.
Her clothing was frosted over in multiple places along with her skin becoming a bit paler. Her hair had stiffened in some places as well while her hands trembled… Obito sighed at her.
Walking over, Fuyumi merely blinked before he had both of her hands in one of his while his other one was around her lower back?!
Her face burned bright red as steam likely started coming from there as well!
"I-I-I," she stammered before he led her to a wall. "H-Huh?"
He set her down before Obito kneeled in front of her and held her hands in his.
The digits had started turning purple at the tips and Obito stared at her with intensity, causing her embarrassment to double while her head fell.
Sighing once more, Obito held her hands in his before breathing out in soft pops of his lips.
Burning white rings came to surround her hands and Fuyumi hissed when feeling returned to them.
"You went too far," Obito said softly before breathing out several balls of fire that settled around Fuyumi in a semicircle. "Fuyumi-san."
"I-I was just testing my limits," she shot back with a small frown that he raised a brow at. "I-I have to catch up… Dad has never looked so… agreeable as he has in the past hour, Obito-kun! Y-You were right! I have to do this!"
"And you will but trying to beat yourself up isn't conducive, right?" He said intently and Fuyumi frowned at him in defiance. "Fuyumi, I thought you were trying to make things better than your father?" She flinched.
"E-Excuse me?"
"Isn't this kind of pushing exactly what you didn't want your father to do?" He laid on and she froze. "So, are you telling me his methods were right?"
"I-I never said that!" She growled at him before flinching as he came right up to her face.
"Then why are you doing things the way he does?"
Fuyumi struggled to find both the answer and her ability to remain cool, the feeling in her fingers returning far faster.
"You're worried, I know," he said softly and Fuyumi bit her lip. "But, at the same time, your health also matters."
"... I have to get stronger… I can already see this working so well, I've never seen all these sides of my father before," Fuyumi admitted.
His comical pettiness, his consideration, his odd looks, his dramatics, his feelings.
For probably the first time in her life, Fuyumi felt like she and her father were either becoming closer or she understood him a bit.
The fact alone had nearly shocked her comatose but she also realized that Obito had been right and now she had to do this 110%!
"I need to keep this going, to impress him, to become valuable concerns. If I can-"
"If we can," Obito said outright and to her face, causing her to look up at him with teary eyes. "I told you, didn't I? The both of us are in this, I couldn't leave you and your situation well enough alone. I'm involved until I'm not necessary anymore."
She sniffled before nodding.
Two heads were better than one, he was her guide to the world of violence, heroism, and practicality.
Obito Midoriya was her light to the world of heroes.
Still… 'I'm sorry, Obito-kun,' she thought with a face full of regret that he likely thought was from her previous action. 'I'm grateful but I can't do this so slowly.'
She had to fix things and if a little tiredness, and frostbite, were her only downsides, she'd live with them.
It wasn't like she was subjecting someone else to this! I-If it was just her own self… she'd survive.

And, so, Fuyumi Todoroki trained every possible chance she could get as the weeks passed.
As expected in that timeframe, Obito had been on his internship. During the days, she took over the group's training by trying to perform Obito's original task for her, making an obstacle course.
She'd been getting better at it thrice as fast since she was getting as much training in as possible.
So, in literally under two weeks, she'd been capable of doing four obstacles! When Obito had praised her, Fuyumi grinned.
When her father commented on how impressed he was with her progress, she'd damn near exploded into euphoria.
Though she wouldn't lie, she'd been slacking a bit when it came to her schooling. B-But it wouldn't matter, right?!
UA Exams, if she ended up taking them, only cared about the quirks and one written test. She'd just ask her father if she could get some form of 'tip' for the exams!
Still, she'd been trying so hard that Obito noticed her, in the worst possible way.
~NRK~
It had been lunchtime when he finally said something.
"Fuyumi-san," he began as they ate their food. "I'm sorry but have you been training on your own the entire time I've not been around?"
Her mind choked but her face gave nothing away.
"I don't understand," she lied as easily as she breathed. "What's wrong? I've been progressing pretty w-well," Fuyumi cursed her stutter.
"... Fuyumi, I get it, I do, but your progress is unnatural."
"That's not a good thing?"
"It'd be a great thing… but I've been noticing the bags under your eyes as of late, as well," Fuyumi frowned at Obito's words.
"Y-You did?" Hadn't she used make-up?
Then she froze as Obito frowned.
"No, I didn't."
The silence between them was damming.
'H-He caught me so easily?!' Fuyumi hadn't expected to be outed so effortlessly!
She swallowed. "I have been training, on my own. It's just little things that don't require too much effort, Obito-kun!"
"You say that but your progress is still too high. You're not a fighter, I've said this before and that wasn't words to discourage you," he said with a frown that she reciprocated. "For you, it'd mean that you need to practice almost five times as much as a fighter. Take your time."
"... It's always that, isn't it?" She said with a mirthless chuckle. "You keep saying that but I need to grow stronger! We, I, can't just wait anymore!"
Obito looked alarmed.
"Fuyumi-"
"No! Every time I make progress, I thought you'd be happy for me," she said with a wobble in her voice, the two's privacy the only thing stopping Obito from stopping her. "Each time, you always seemed prepared to say something but you didn't! You were proud of me! S-So why can't you just be happy with my progress?!"
"..." Obito stared at the girl whose eyes, while teary, burned with an emotion that he grimaced at. "... Fuyumi-san… Fuyumi, I am proud, your own training had made you grow in leaps and bounds… but that's the problem," he said as she frowned at him. "No, listen-"
"Goodbye, Midoriya-kun," she said with venom, packing her things and leaving the room. "... I-I thought you were supposed to have my back… G-Good thing I learned the hard way, right?"
She slammed the door shut, leaving Obito to run his hands through his hair as he groaned.
"This is the problem, Fuyumi," he said to himself. "You're growing too fast for your own mind to keep up with."
~NRK~
Fuyumi sat on the roof's edge, knees pulled up for her to wrap her arms around and lay her head down on.
'I… I really exploded on him.'
The anger had cooled far too quickly for her tastes and now all she was left with was regret.
'I'm trying so hard, he said it himself, I need to push beyond normal training,' that's what she understood. 'So, what's the problem?!' Fuyumi didn't know.
And that niggling feeling of thought popped into her head unwanted.
If he knew this, why was he telling her to slow down?
The thought wasn't new, she'd been thinking this ever since their first week together.
'...' He knew something that she didn't, understood something she was unaware of? 'Dammit, no, no, no,' Fuyumi shook her head with a grunt and then sigh. '... A little time apart will do us some good…?!' Her face went neon red."
"W-Wait, I mean as friends, we're not dating!" She shouted to the roof in embarrassment. "... G-Goodness, what would you have done, Fuyumi, if someone had heard that?"
"I don't know," she froze at the sound of an unfamiliar voice behind her. "But, please, give me ideas, Todoroki-chan."
Fuyumi's head snapped around and she was quickly up on her feet, surveying the person behind her.
It was a woman who had spoken, a slender one that had thick, long, black claws and olive-green skin.
She had moon-shaped red hair and a narrow head which held red eyes and a wicked smirk as she walked over to the Todoroki in her long white black coat, white shirt, and black pants, clawed feet clacking against the roof tiles.
"C-Can I help you?" The girl said with nervous sweat. 'Who is she? Did she come in when I wasn't paying attention?' It was possible, she was kind of occupied. "Ma'am?"
"It's nothing, I was just curious, after all, you're up here instead of in class," Fuyumi choked before she began to rush off the roof.
"I'm sorry! I'll be going-!"
"Now, now, now," the woman stepped into her path with a big grin, getting a pause out of the girl. "I'd like to talk, milady," the growing more ominous lady said with a widening grin as she lifted the bottom of her shirt.
Fuyumi took several steps back at the sight of burn marks that trailed up to the woman's bra from her navel.
"Since your father was so kind to me."
A pair of shadows descended behind her, leaving Fuyumi to freeze and turn around to see another figure. The sounds of screaming from down below setting her nerves on fire.
One of them was a hulking man whose form could be described as 'top-heavy', his upper half was broad, muscular, and covered from head to toe in metal like the armor of a mechanical ape.
Dressed in a pair of black hakama, a gray tunic, and a black skullcap, three large pistons released steam from his back.
[Found target, Fuyumi Todoroki. Time to execute?] The robotic being asked the woman who grinned.
'Target?' Fuyumi trembled. 'T-They're villains dad put away?' That meant they were here to kidnap her, right?
"Ma'am if you'd be so kind to come with us," the woman said with a chivalrous bow but her eyes were alight with a sick amusement. "Or, should we do this… differently?"
Fuyumi swallowed before her eyes narrowed. 'No, this is what you wanted! I can prove to Obito that I'm capable! This is my path to herohood!'
So, let's start off with this, yes?!
The two villains smirked before gaping as ice shot out from the girl's hands, forming a barrier around her.
The sheen off the ice gleamed in the sunlight before they could see the blurry form of the girl through it.
Ice lunged forward at the woman and she barely jumped over it before the villainess swung out one of her claws.
The claws shot off her fingers and crashed into the ice wall but only dug in with their tips.
Fuyumi smiled as she then slammed her hands into the floor, ice shooting out and spreading around the rooftop.
~NRK~
Obito kicked the goon to the side before flipping over another and bringing his elbow down on his noggin, the woman crashing into the floor of the schoolyard.
All around the school's perimeter, he could see the closing purple barrier that told him one thing.
They were trapped and these guys were looking for someone here.
"What are you here for?!" He shouted at one of his opponents before skipping up and over a large man's fist before using his forearm as a platform.
His feet slammed into the man's bandaged face before he jumped high into the sky.
He breathed in before spitting out several balls of flames.
"Katon: Hosenka!"
The balls grew white and larger before crashing into the opposition in explosions of white fire, cratering where they'd hit and setting his foes ablaze for a bit.
They didn't last long, as was expected, but he smirked at his desired results before turning his head to the sound of spreading ice to see the roof on top of the building he'd been eating lunch in being covered in the stuff.
"... Fuyumi! Fuck!" He ran off towards the building before spitting out several balls of fire along the way at villains that were still around. "Screw off!" Obito shouted in anger.
He slammed his hands together before taking in a deep breath. His body grew warm as he sucked in oxygen from the cells in his shoulders.
"Katon: Goenkyu!" (Fire Release: Great Flame Ball)
Flames shot out from his mouth to the floor around his feet as the villains came in close.
The flames spiraled about in a great flame tornado that exploded into a sphere of fire the size of half the building.
~NRK~
Fuyumi swung out her arms and ice tore off the rooftop.
'Another miss!' She growled a bit and looked around before sweeping her arm, and body, around herself to create another barrier. 'How am I missing them?' Fuyumi didn't understand.
She was basically conquering the rooftop and she'd even caught them a few times! So, how did they keep getting away?!
The Todoroki let out a frosty breath before touching the ground again.
As it turned out, in her testing, she and Obito were more alike than was possible.
The ice around her shifted before a hole was made in her Prevention Ice, her barrier technique.
She rushed out and hid in the frost, hiding by another ice spire.
Fuyumi had tested this little bit of hard-to-see-through mist in the Quirk Coliseum. It was a good visibility inhibitor so she thought she'd be fine.
Then she blinked as she hit her knees. "O-Oh, I-I must be pushing it," how long had she been doing this?
Then the area around her began to… melt? Steam poured off the tips as they slowly but surely began to slacken and moisten, confusing her further as steam and mist filled her vision.
She tried to wave it away but frowned as her vision grew more blocked.
It couldn't have been more than a few minutes-
Something slammed into her chest and she nearly choked on her tongue, the feeling of pain blossomed all-throughout her body as some grabbed her.
"Gah-!" She spat out spit and her eyes trembled at both the feeling of the hit and the sight of blood in her saliva!? "W-What?!" Fuyumi tasted wetness, and copper, on her tongue as her glasses fell from her face.
"Hmm, you're so difficult," came the familiar purr of the woman as a 'burring' noise reached Fuyumi's ears before the mist and steam began to swirl in on several locations, clearing her vision to see her body in the grip of that machine.
The rods from before vibrated before coming to a stop, the vapors sinking in.
'What?!' T-They could do that?!
"Goodness, it's a good thing we got you before you decided to take the Exams, no?" The woman said with a big grin as she came into view, glowing eyes fading back to normal as she stomped on the girl's already cracked glasses. "Now, are you going to be a good girl? Or will Hana have to hurt you again?"
The tightness of the grip around her body, arms as well as they were at her sides, tested how squishy she was.
"AAAHHH!" Pain!
So much pain! A-And her father lived through this?!
It lessened but her vision flashed as more blood spilled past her lips.
'Am… A-Am I going to die?' The thought shot to the forefront of her mind. 'Am I about to really d-die?!'
The idea made her mind freeze as it replayed all the recent memories she'd made in the past three weeks.
The gifts for the boys.
Obito entering her life fully.
The training.
Her father's weird sides like his pettiness and pride showing.
Pushing herself to her limits… Obito's warnings.
All of it slammed into her as she tried to freeze over the metallic arm holding her.
"I…" She couldn't, her body already felt like it'd been freezing from the inside out before but now the pain seemed to make her feel colder. 'I-I can't…' Fuyumi realized in horror, tear building at the corners of her eyes. 'I-I pushed it too far and I c-can't…'
She remembered Obito's earlier words and it came crashing down on her.
Fuyumi had gone beyond her limits while believing she'd gained incredible power with all the good sides… She'd gotten arrogant and that was costing her her life.
"Now, now, my dear, you can't cry now… After all, we haven't even done anything yet," the woman said as 'Hana' dropped the girl to the floor. "But time is a wasting, I guess seeing you so pathetic is a good enough prize, and telling the Number 2 that we killed his daughter like this? Oh, that's precious. Hana, give her the end of her life," the woman said with a cackle as the robot made whirring sounds as flames shot out of the pistons on its back.
[Affirmative.]
A fist raised and Fuyumi cried like the fool she was.
"O-Obito-kun! I'm sorry!" She cried one last time as the metal descended-
A white flame-covered hand dented the metal within its grasp, causing the two villains' 'eyes' to widen before burning red eyes narrowed.
The white flames exploded outward in a show of force so magnificent, they were blown off the rooftop towards the cram school building roof half a field away.
Fuyumi's vision was blurry as can be but her eyes blinked some of the tears away in confusion.
"H-Huh?" She was still alive.
"I barely made it," a voice said in her ears as the sounds of fire reached her, burning flames that were all concentrated in one direction.
'Dad?' Strong hands lifted her up into even stronger arms… but they weren't the same.
The arms were smaller and more fitting for the person who came into view as he cleared her eyes of tears.
Though the water began to fall again as Obito looked at her with concern, holding her close.
"Fuyumi…" He whispered and her wails began to follow.
"You were r-right!" She broke down. "I-I didn't know what I was even doing! And I was going t-to… I was going to die!" Fuyumi cried in horror.
All of this, it'd been her fault somehow.
Wanting to be a hero? What a joke!
"No, none of that," Obito whispered as he cleared her angry tears away. "You… I wanted you to gain strength slowly, you were right, though. I was so proud of you for going beyond your limits to get what you wanted. As much as I want to deny it, I didn't want you to go slow. I did tell you I'd give you a crash course in violence but I relented because of your father's methodology being the 'answer' we'd find."
"W-What?" Fuyumi didn't believe him. "I said all those words to you, how could you still want to even talk to me?"
"Because, as I said, you were right, in a way. You sought more training and I should have done something for you. I should have spent more time with you, hell, maybe we should have done physical training so you could feel fulfilled… I failed you as your teacher," Obito said as he wiped some more of her tears away.
What nonsense was he spouting? How could he ever believe he was the reason she'd almost died?!
"..." She sniffled before her forehead fell into the crux of his neck. "I couldn't hate you… I-I was worried. Everything was going so well, I didn't want to lose all of this but not being good enough."
Obito's eyes closed before they opened with resolution.
"If you still want me to-"
"I do," Fuyumi said immediately, a bruised, shaky, but resolute arm coming to grab his shirt. "I want you to be my trainer, I want you to make me a hero!"
His eyes widened at her as she moved her head from his neck to lock gaze with him.
'... They're so bright,' Obito thought incredulously at that moment.
Pained but powerful blue eyes shot him a look of admiration that he felt some embarrassment from.
He nodded and Fuyumi noted just how fascinating his eyes truly were when they were altered by his quirk before remembering that he was supposedly on fire.
Her eyes went to his hand around her left bicep and she blinked at the glowing white flames.
"You need medical attention," he realized a moment later, grimacing at the bloodstains on her shirt and chin. "But they're on their way," Obito said as he stood with her in his arms.
Then Fuyumi yelped as he spit white fire over her body, the act confusing, and terrifying, her even though she knew how his quirk worked.
… She'd thought before the feeling of heat rose in her body, the white flames slipping into her skin slowly as Obito's eyes looked up and down her frame with a determined frown.
An impact crashed onto the roof behind him and he sighed before the flames slipped out of her body, leaving her confused before her eyes widened at the feeling of slight breathlessness and lighter pain in her body.
"I've warmed the connections in your cells," he said like what he'd done was normal. "It's not perfect healing, I'm not fully aware of how my quirk can work at that level but it can help," Obito said as he allowed her to stand by letting her down. "So, for now, we need to tend to our opponents, no?"
Fuyumi blinked at him, breathing in breaths that felt so much crisper and yet more painless than they had been earlier.
The two villains from before looked at them with sneers, from the woman, and dilating eyes, from the robot.
[Other target removal program, activated] The robot said as the pistons on its back spat out more flames. [Dynamic Punch!]
It cleared the distance towards the two teens with ease.
"Watch me, Fuyumi," Obito said softly as he stepped in front of her. "I know you'll become strong."
When the opponent appeared in front of him, Obito flowed around its punch before using its bulky arms as a platform as it destroyed the roof tiles.
A sharp whistle nailed it in its neck, sending it tumbling to the side before a sudden burst of breath enveloped it in a bursting ball of red flames that sent it flying.
"Small movements," Obito said before turning to the villainess and shooting out several small fireballs to knock her projectiles off target. "A short usage," he said again as that flaming robot came charging again. "The basics."
It swung out once more only for a kick from Obito to find its mark on its chest.
Then the flames coating the metal being coalesced around the offending limb before burning white.
"Enhoko." (Flaming Gait)
It exploded off his foot and slammed into the barrier all the way across from them, tearing through the roof of the building it flew past in the process.
"Finding ways to apply your quirk with small access is vital," Obito said as Fuyumi blinked before nodding. "Now, you should try," he said as he pointed at the female villain who froze.
"B-But…"
"We've seen it, no? Your quirk and mine, they're similar in a lot of ways."
Fuyumi's eyes closed before they opened, shining sapphires glaring down the villain that had been with that stupid robot!
Then frost shot out from her feet and covered the building's roof one more time, trapping that villainous woman's claws that she began breaking with her claws… in a futile attempt.
Fuyumi's eyes glowed before her hands came before her and grasped together.
"Frost Lock."
Ice shot up around the woman in a cylinder, freezing her completely.
"Well done," Obito said, quickly catching the girl before she collapsed to her knees. "A lot of rest is in your future."
"Y-Yeah, you're right," Fuyumi said with a slow stutter. "Along with training, right?"
"Oh, definitely," she chuckled a bit at his words. "I mean, your grades have been kind of slacking," then Fuyumi choked. "You dropped from the top 20 to the top 50."
Her mouth dropped in horror before a crash of force slammed into the barrier overhead followed by a blaze so powerful, it tore off the top of it as well.
The sounds of dual impacts on the roof got both teens to look at the rushing-
"You're safe!" The two were enveloped by Endeavor, the man's eyes holding them at arm's length before locking in on Fuyumi's bloody chin. "Doctor, All Might!"
There, behind him but not that much further behind, was the Number 1 Hero in all of Japan.
He was a hulking tall being, wearing muscles that seemed to fit perfectly on his frame to emphasize his sheer height. His blond hair set in its recognizable slicked back form with its twin antennae.
Wearing some spandex that was colored blue, red, white, and yellow, his cape settled as he walked up to the three.
"What happened?!" The hulking hero asked in alarm as he saw Fuyumi who was quickly shaking her head as much as she could.
"W-Wait, wait! Hold on! I-I mean, I don't feel as bad, thanks to Obito-kun," she said with a big blush as Obito snorted.
"She'll still need to see a doctor but I've done what I could," the male teen said.
"I don't understand, what did you do?" Endeavor frowned as he looked at his daughter's… state. "I don't see bandages."
"Don't be that kind of father, right now, please," Obito said with a flat look as Fuyumi got it.
She blushed bright red. "N-No, no! Nothing like that happened!" She squeaked and Enji was left confused. "H-He did a form of fire healing, I guess."
"You can heal with fire?" All Might asked with interest as Obito shrugged.
"I've done my research for the sake of trying different ways of using my flames," he explained simply. "Add on with my quirk's mutation and I can actually apply myself in ways that I'm thankful for."
"... Cellular vision," Endeavor realized in shock before looking at his daughter who was still kind of blushing but nodded at him. "... I see," he said with a hand running down the front of his face.
He looked off to the side where the frozen pillar of that female villain was.
"What happened?" He asked with a frown before the two explained what they knew.
Obito from down below and Fuyumi from up above before their stories mixed.
"Wait, they wanted to kidnap you?" Enji asked with some fire in his voice and atop his head. "Why?"
"... S-She said something weird, actually," Fuyumi said with a frown. "She knew I was going to take the UA Exams."
"... Is that not normal?" All Might asked and the three threw him flat looks. "Apologies," he rubbed the back of his head.
"No, we only decided to give or take almost a month ago," Obito said.
"I didn't tell anyone but my family, four friends including Obito-kun, and my teachers due to not needing their recommendations," Fuyumi admitted and the three men's eyes narrowed. "One of our friends is already in UA while the other two are going there."
"No, I think it's odd how a random villain knew about your decision… and I'm curious about which of your teachers it is," Endeavor said with a glare at the ground.
"... Actually," Obito spoke up with a frown. "Literally the first week of her training, one of our teachers did leave," he said with some worry. "I thought it was weird, he said he was taking a new job but most wouldn't do such a sudden change and would wait until their tenure is at least done…"
"What was his name?" All Might asked.
"U-Unagi-sensei?" Fuyumi asked with wide eyes. "H-He never seemed too off b-but he did pay a lot of attention to me during classes."
"... Endeavor, I'll take these two down to the ground, I believe you have an investigation to handle," All Might said and the Flame Hero nodded with a grunt.
Enji looked at both of the teens once more before nodding.
"You two did well, handling a villain isn't as easy as people make it sound."
"A villain," Obito frowned as he looked off to the edge. "There's supposed to be another one."
The two's eyes widened.

Hanatarou Mark III dug with ease through the bedrock before pressing a finger to his ear.
-Hana! What happened?!-
[All has come to an abrupt end. The capture of Fuyumi Todoroki has gone awry, Master]
-What happened, I couldn't see anything from the screen we pulled up-
[A boy with the ability to breathe flames has interfered.]
-Breathe fire? Endeavor's son?-
[No, he has no relation to the Flame Hero. He is different.]
-... Inform me more when you come back-
[Yes, Master.]

Coming down with motherfucking All Might had done more than get the two a few stares.
Fuyumi got the most, the girl's bloodied state garnering several flashes of a camera.
His eyes widened in disbelief before his hands began to burn with a bright blue flame, similar-colored eyes narrowing in anger.
"WHO THE FUCK DID THIS?!" He shouted at the monitor before watching in mounting anger. 'What FUCKER decided that attacking my little sister was a good idea?!'
When they brought in an ice sculpture, his eyes darkened before he memorized the woman in ice.
"Today's your last day on Earth, bitch."
He growled at the sight before replaying a part of the video.
"The girl's status has been handled but we have more than ONE hero who was on the scene! A rather ironic twist of fate!"
That guy with her, a person who could breathe fire?
He focused on the two the entire time, looking at how they interacted, how Fuyumi reacted, how the girl seemed to stay close to this 'Obito Midoriya' who was doing his best to keep their path open with a burst of white walls of flames.
When the live feed ended, he finally moved, body releasing cricks and cracks from his sustained bad posture.
Burn-scarred arms moved as he left his 'room'.
Walking down the halls of this place, he found who he was looking for.
"Tell me, are you going to attack her as well?" Said a man from a chair with a chuckle. "I'd say you won't but I can never tell."
"Bite me, Ujiko, I need to get into whatever place that bitch in ice is going to end up at."
"... The villain?"
"Yes, the villain."
"... Okay, just making sure."

The ride to the hospital let Fuyumi just… collapse.
Sitting in the back of a car with Obito, her head rested on his shoulder, hand holding onto his bicep.
"You're tired," he said as she nodded, eyes fluttering closed. "Get some rest, you deserve it."
"..." Fuyumi's eyes closed but only after she adjusted herself some more onto his shoulder and side.
Obito sighed as he leaned back on the seat.
"You deserve some rest as well," said the man across from him.
Wearing dark brown slacks, black dress shoes, and a white dress shirt under a tan trenchcoat.
His skin was fair, eyes black, and head kind of long with a short mop of clean-cut black hair on his head.
"Naomasa-san."
"Get some rest, Obito-kun, I'll awaken you when we get there," Naomasa Tsukauchi said with a smile, putting his notepad away.
Obito nodded before his eyes closed.
And soon two teens were asleep.

That's a wrap for this second chapter of Void Breathing.
This also ends the 'Origins' of our two heroes-to-be.
So, yes, let's talk about Fuyumi's character.
She is a person who loves, likes the idea of, and wants her own, family. It's shown in the series that she does resent Enji but puts it aside to try and make their situation work.
Here, in this fic, we're not only at the beginning points of that fact but she's a lot less mature but willing to do what it takes to make her family work again. I.E. Willing to give up her dreams, metaphorically, to become a hero.
And, in that same vein, by choosing that lifestyle, her choices change.
Not only does she get to interact with Endeavor more on 'his level' but her brothers are being trained alongside her, she's got her family's love and support, a powerful motivator but that's not the biggest one.
She's seeing her family unit acting like… well, a family makes or breaks a lot of her decisions that aren't based on herself. So, as they get closer to the 'deadline', she gets anxious.
While having support and love from her mother, Enji's neglect has hit her in her confidence due to her having to pick up caring duties she really shouldn't have to if he were a normal dad.
Add on that she, likely, before Obito entered into her life, didn't really hang out much outside due to her familial situation and she's barely got friends, Fuyumi Todoroki is a self-esteem bomb and that's her biggest downfall in this chapter.
She gets arrogant thinking of how things, for her, are going well and thrives to make that keep happening even without knowing the whys and worries of her situation.
Fuyumi not only overtaxed herself but she had been slacking, which isn't as bad due to her future choice, in cram school. She's not sure what 'balance' is in these situations.
And she pays for it, big time. It's one lesson of many she, and even Obito, will learn over the course of their herohood.
Ciao.
