Ruby walked along the route, and along the way, she caught some Pokemon. She got the hang of it, and battled them until they were weak enough to capture. She caught a

Rattata

Bellsprout

Oddish

and Pidgey

She was honestly impressed at the Pokemon she managed to catch. Ruby was still boggled that the Pokemon were able to fit inside the balls.

Present...

Ruby was pulled out of her story, as she heard someone hitting their head on a Poke Ball. The culprit was Nora.

"Nora, what are you doing?" asked Ruby.

"I wanna see what it's like inside this thing," said Nora, "If they can get inside, then so can I!"

Nora then resumed hitting her head on the ball until Ren took it from her.

"Thank you Ren. Now, where was I?"

"You caught Pokemon," said Winter.

"Oh yes."

5 years ago, Earth, Route 2...

Ruby was about to head into the forest, when she heard a voice cry out, "Hey, you Ruby Rose?"

Ruby turned to see a teenage girl.

"Who are you?" asked Ruby.

"Name's Alice. I'm a family friend of the Oaks. I wanted to meet you. Oak said that you took Charmander. Guess you beat me to it."

"Wait, you wanted Charmander?" asked Ruby, "Oh, well, if you'd like, we can trade our..."

"No, don't!"

"Why not?"

"You can't trade your starter. They're not objects, they're your partners that stick by your side!"

"Partners."

Ruby then flashed to Weiss, Blake and Yang. She slightly teared up.

"You okay?" asked Alice.

"Yeah, just, remembered someone close I lost."

"I'm sorry. Hey, could you battle me?"

"Wait, battle?"

"Yeah!"

Rival Alice would like to Battle!

Rival Alice sent out Squirtle!

"Okay, go Charmander!"

"Oh, this will be easy! Squirtle, use tackle!"

"Um, Scratch Charmander!"

Charmander then slashed, and Squirtle stopped in his tracks, holding his head.

"Use, um, Ember!"

Charmander then launched a small fire attack, and it hit home. Squirtle squealed out in shock! It hurt a bit, but not too much.

"Okay, um, use growl!"

Charmander growled, and the Squirtle cowered in fear a bit.

"Squirtle, you can do this! Use bubble!"

Squirtle launched some bubbles, which were effective against Charmander.

"Charmander!"

Charmander stood up, and stood his ground.

"Okay, scratch!"

Charmander then went for a scratch, and scratched a few times at Squirtle, and Squirtle then fainted.

Ruby has defeated Rival Alice!

"Wow, even at a disadvantage, you're strong!"

Ruby received 1,000 Poke Dollars!

"Man, that was incredible! Was that your first battle?" asked Alice.

"No, I met a few other trainers before hand," said Ruby.

"Oh. That explains it. Well, here, let me heal your Pokemon."

Alice healed Ruby's Pokemon.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome. Also, if you ever need to heal your Pokemon, go to the Pokemon Center right there!"

"There, Nurse Joy will heal your Pokemon for free, and you can pay for a place to stay for the night and stuff like that."

"Wow. That's cool."

"And if you ever need to resupply on Poke Balls, or other things, go to the Poke Mart there."

"Well, thank you," said Ruby.

She then stocked up on Potions, and Poke Balls.

Ruby walked through Viridian Forest, and she looked at the Pokemon around her.

"Oh, what cuties!"

Ruby held out her hand, and the yellow one sniffed her hand. Ruby then carefully rubbed it's head, and it said, "Chaaaaaaaa!"

Ruby walked around, and even battled some trainers. She walked through the forest, until she reach the exit. She looked at the city around her.

"Wow. Look at this place!"

Ruby then released her Pokemon, and she gave them all attention, and fed them all. Ruby loved these guys. They were cute, and she was told that they would get stronger. She wouldn't fail them, like she failed Beacon. She promised to keep them safe, and never turn her back on them.
