Joey trudged wearily on his way home from school, burdened not only by his heavy backpack but also by the weight of relentless bullying. The constant torment had taken its toll, and he contemplated giving up for good. Hurtful comments about his sexuality and the taunts questioning his masculinity echoed in his mind. What did it even mean to be a "real man"? Joey wondered, feeling worn down by the constant barrage of negativity.
Fed up with the daily onslaught of abuse from his fellow students, Joey finally reached his breaking point. He decided to leave school, seeking respite from the hurtful environment that had become his reality. As he made his way through the bustling streets, lost in his thoughts, he inadvertently collided with Seto, his long-time crush. A blush crept onto Joey's cheeks, secretly relishing the nickname Seto had bestowed upon him-a puppy. It made him feel wanted and cherished, even if deep down, he struggled to believe that anyone could truly desire him.
Seto glanced up at Joey, his piercing gaze filled with curiosity and concern. Joey stammered an apology, explaining his hasty departure from school. "I can't stand it here anymore," he confessed, his voice heavy with frustration. "I won't allow myself to be bullied by those students any longer."
Surprised by Joey's revelation, Seto's eyes softened with compassion. He had once been a popular figure himself, and the sudden change in Joey's demeanor saddened him deeply. "I'm sorry to hear that you're being bullied," Seto replied, genuine concern etched on his face. "Why is this happening?"
Joey's disbelief at Seto's genuine interest flickered in his eyes, but he dismissed it, brushing off Seto's concern. "Don't worry about it, Seto," Joey muttered, his voice tinged with a hint of resignation. "It's my problem, not anyone else's."
Seto looked at Joey, his shock barely concealed. "Alright," he relented, sensing Joey's desire for distance. "But remember, if you ever need anything, call me." He handed Joey a business card, carefully inscribed with his work, home, and cellphone numbers-offering his support in any way he could.
Thanking Seto, Joey continued on his way, disappearing around the corner. However, fate had other plans for him as he stumbled upon Yami, Yugi, and Tristan walking in his direction. Dread washed over Joey as he desperately attempted to avoid them, but his efforts proved futile. Yami's smirk sent shivers down his spine, igniting a sense of fear within him.
Yugi's voice broke through the tension. "Hey, Joey, what are you doing out of school?" he inquired innocently.
Joey's resolve faltered as he hesitated for a moment, before reluctantly sharing his truth. "I'm leaving school because of the relentless bullying I've endured every day," he admitted, his voice heavy with the weight of his torment.
Yugi's eyes widened in disbelief. "Oh, Joey, I can't believe that. You were never bullied at school. Why would anyone do such a thing?"
Shocked by Yugi's denial, Joey's face contorted with hurt and frustration. "If you don't believe me, then fine," he muttered, his resolve hardening. "I need to go."
Yami interjected, a devious glimmer in his eyes. "Yugi, it's time we show Joey who we are and why he should never cross us," he declared, his tone laced with malice.
Yugi turned away,
