The day of the UA Sports Festival seemed to come way too quickly for Fuyumi.
At present, she swallowed in her gym uniform as she sat in her family's kitchen with her family, writing down ideas, plans, and preparations.
"Remember, in the past Sports Festivals, there are typically three stages, it doesn't matter how many years it's been. That hasn't changed," Enji said as she nodded. "A race, a team battle, and a tournament between you and your peers. That's the typical format."
"Last year, didn't they do some sort of obstacle race?" Rei asked as Enji nodded.
"They mix it up between four kinds for each event before the tournament. They also did the cavalry battle," he added.
"Then… do they repeat the types?" Fuyumi wondered as Shouto looked at her notes.
"No, Nezu is particular about what does and doesn't repeat."
"So, there's no Obstacle Course but the Mountain Climb, Platform Jump, and Slide Junction," Fuyumi noted. "For the second one, with no Cavalry Battle, there is the VIP Maze, Pothole Pass Race, and the… Blind Map."
"Ah, that one," Enji's eyes narrowed as Rei smiled nervously at remembering that particular one. "It's an annoying one. In a team of up to four, every team will be moving your VIP through to the end and other teams can intercept you. There were specialized calls for the VIP to have you inside with them for protection."
"T-That sounds so cool!" Shouto said as Enji's face went blank. "Y-You did that, dad?!"
"... Unfortunately."
"Enji was a big target back then," Rei said as Natsuo nodded. "He'd get chased by every team and they used his fire to find him."
"That sounds about right, dad's full of nothing but bright flames," Natsuo commented as Enji grunted. "So, you and Obito-nii are going to be on the same team?"
"I doubt they'd let that happen," Fuyumi said with a frown before she blinked. "W-Wait, do they stop you from being teams?"
"Only if you don't rank in the top 42," Enji said and Fuyumi blinked before erasing something. "No, you still need to pick who you're going to choose if you can grab more than one person. For example, that gigantification girl may be useful if this wasn't in enclosed spaces. She'd give away all of you within an instant."
"... Sorry, Yu-chan," Fuyumi said as she put her friends' names, quirks, and stuff down. "Still… she could become a good trapper if necessary."
Enji smirked. "You're thinking."
Fuyumi giggled.

Obito nodded to Izuku and Katsuki in his gym uniform, the two boys in their blue pajamas as the three of them sat at the dinner table. Inko was, at current, getting dressed while they finished their oatmeal.
"Hmm, it's not a bad idea, you two but I'm going in blind to what event will be seen," Obito said as Izuku nodded, finishing his breakfast.
"Well… you already planned for all of them, right?" He asked and Obito nodded.
"I can cover most fields with versatile uses of my quirk, what matters is how some of the games are played. Will I be the VIP? What will they have changed in the fields in small ways? I'm without this info," he said as Katsuki finished, wiping his mouth with a paper towel.
"Hmph! You just gonna make sure everyone knows you're the boss! That's easy!" The blonde said with a grin as Obito snorted.
"Well, that's not how some things go, Katsu-kun. To be a good leader, you need power behind you, yes, but you also need to work with others."
"How's bossing 'em around not working? If you're right, they'll get it."
"Hm, well, not wrong but people will ruin your reputation more often than not if you force them to do something so much."
"Hmph."
Obito snorted before getting up only to get a call on his phone.
Pulling it out of his pocket, he smirked as he answered and put it on speaker.
"Hi, dad."
-My boys! How are ya?!- Hisashi asked and Izuku grinned.
"Hey, dad!"
-Izu-Izu, have you been good for your mom?-
"Yes! We made a lot of stuff in the kitchen!" Izuku said as his father chuckled.
-Very good. Man, I can't wait to get to you guys. I'll be home by the time you head out-
Obito raised a brow before snorting as he heard the front door open up to reveal the man himself, a grin on his face.
"When dad?!" Izuku asked, he and Katsuki completely focused on the phone as Obito facepalmed with a grin.
"I don't know, right now?" Hisashi said as Izuku's mouth fell and his voice turned to the side to see him.
"DAD!" He got up before jumping at his father.
"Yep. I've got to be here to watch your brother sweep the competition," Hisashi said as Obito and Katsuki smirked.
"Duh!"
"Of course."

The trip to school was far louder than Fuyumi expected.
Sitting in her father's car with her family, she swallowed at the sheer density of the people by her school's gates. Reporters, families, random guests, heroes, and so on. The amount was insane.
When they went into the private parking lot of the kids who had families involved, she blinked before smiling at one car that was parked already, a familiar family coming out along with one other from another car.
Obito looked up from helping his little brother out before nodding to her.
Hisashi had dressed as he had when he came home, in a suit minus his blazer and tie. Inko, meanwhile, wore a simple long-sleeved top that was black along with a long pink skirt that led down to her white slippers.
Mitsuki Bakugou, meanwhile, donned some blue jeans, a yellow shirt, and white tennis shoes while Masaru was helping out his pajama-wearing son in his own white polo, brown slacks, and black loafers.
Fuyumi's own father was dressed in his hero uniform, he'd be working after her events were done, while her mother was wearing a pair of blue capri pants, white sandals, a slightly thick white shirt, and a light blue scarf around her neck.
Natsuo donned some blue jeans, brown sneakers, and a black shirt while Shouto wore a pair of white slip-on shoes, blue shorts, and a white shirt.
"Morning, Rei-chan," Inko said with a smile as the families met. "This is Mitsuki Bakugou, she's my childhood friend."
"Nice ta meetcha, Todoroki," Mitsuki said with a grin as Masaru and Enji locked eyes, much to Hisashi's amusement.
"Hmm, you own that spitfire of yours?" Enji asked as Masaru chuckled while Katsuki grunted.
"I don't spit fire, I spit explosions," the boy said.
"Yes, he's normally very well-behaved. Masaru l," Masaru offered before introducing himself.
"I'm always behaved!"
"He's a good boy."
"Hi!" Shouto said with a smile. "Kacchan, right?"
"Hmph, it's Katsuki, the Explosive Murder Demon God."
"... Oh."
"K-Kacchan! Too strong, too strong!" Izuku said with a shaky grin.
"There's no such thing!"
"You're right, he is well-behaved," Enji said with an acknowledging smirk while Masaru smiled like he'd done this before.
"He's a good boy."
Obito hummed as he, Natsuo, and Fuyumi looked at the macabre of parents and youngest children.
"It's interesting," the brunette said as Fuyumi giggled a bit.
"It's all because of you, you know?" She said and Obito considered it before shrugging.
"It's so weird," Natsuo said as his sister chuckled before ruffling his hair. "Dad's socializing."
Obito smirked. "That he is."

They met up with their class that was gathered by none other than Nemuri.
"Welcome, my little ducklings!" She greeted them as the two found the rest of their friends there already.
Yu yawned while Kaoruko looked pumped. Keigo smirked while Onemu snorted with crossed arms.
Bocho smiled as they came. "You made it on time!" She cheered and the fire-ice pair chuckled with nods.
"We're not supposed to be late. Unless something changed?" Obito suggested but Nemuri shook her head.
"You kids are all just early risers," she said with a smirk before waving a flag to the side, the clapping of the crowd around them getting blushes from most of the A & B Hero Course students. "Come on! The other classes should be getting gathered by the other faculty, you all need to be prepared to step out!"
They followed her lead, ignoring the fact that Nemuri was in a skin-tight, clearly trying to match her skin color, bodysuit that was covered in bondage gear that consisted of thigh-high boots with garter belts that attached to a brown belt, a dangerous-looking leotard-corset combo that allowed her cleavage to roam free in their skin-tight confines, the bits of her leotard, that went between her breasts, riddled with red stones and attached to a spiked black collar, okay, he had to say something.
"Is that kosher in the least?" Obito asked with a twitching brow.
"It's fine, all the goodie bits are covered!"
"Barely! Barely are they covered!"
Fuyumi and most of the girls in their classes blushed. 'That's so daring,' they could never do it… Fuyumi hoped.
Keigo snickered while Obito's face contorted into an aroused rage. "Didn't know you were so forward," he whispered with a smirk.
"Keigo, I will peel off every feather and stick you onto the flagpole."
"... Okay, chilling, chilling."
Kaoruko, even as embarrassed as she was, snickered.
They made it to one of the four giant entrances into the UA stadium, blinking as they saw something in the distance that was covered by large walls of stone.
"That's one of the potential courses you all will be involved with," Nemuri said, her BDSM mask allowing her purple eyes to shine. "It's gonna be fun. This will be the first time I get to do this kind of thing!"
"Hopefully it's your last," Obito hissed beneath his breath as Fuyumi nodded with a hum.
They both had very impressionable little brothers, brother-figures included, to look out for.
"YEAHHH! ARE YOU ALL READY?!"
Nemuri's eyes widened and her grin seemed to return tenfold. "No way! They got Hisashi?!"
"Huh?!" Obito made a confused sound before Nemuri snickered.
"I had an underclassman when I was a student whose name was Hizashi Yamada," she said with a smirk as Obito's eyebrow twitched again. "Heh."
"YEAH! Then, we'll be introducing our class of heroes, won't we?! COME IN! HERO COURSE CLASS A AND B!"
"That's you guys' cue," the new teacher said with a grin as the group nodded. "Don't forget! This is your guys' impression! Every bit counts! So, chests out! Heads high! And don't forget to strut!"
"Ignore her, please," Obito said as he walked past the others entranced by Midnight's energy. "Good God, it'll be a miracle if these guys don't grow up to be horn dogs," he said blatantly as many of the students blushed. "Hush, you teenagers."
"You're a teenager," Keigo said with a smirk as Fuyumi blushed a bit from Obito's previous remark. "I get it, though."
"Hmph."
The moment they passed the tunnel, the true noise hit.
The bundles of cheers, shouting, whistles, and so on beckoned them forward.
Fuyumi, Keigo, and most of his friends gaped at the attention but Obito kept going.
Make an impression, huh? Well, he didn't care for the whistling crowd so he ignored them.
Whatever came of that, he'd live with.
And it seemed positive as the cameras focused on him.
"OH?! It seems someone finds your applause not good enough!"
Then they increased in volume and he had to stop just from the sheer volume and vibrations.
"Dammit!"
"THAT'S SOME NOISE! WE GOT HIM TO STOP!"
"Nii-chan didn't like that at all," Izuku realized with a sweatdrop despite his role played in all that noise. "B-But he was so cool!"
"He was, he was," Hisashi said sagely as Katsuki grinned viciously.
"Nii-chan wouldn't be stopped by pathetic cheers! They had to cheer louder for 'im!" The boy declared as Masaru chuckled.
"And that's what you gave, yes?" He asked playfully while his boy grinned wider.
"YEAH!"
"Hmph, well, he's certainly made his impression," Mitsuki said as Inko and Rei giggled. "Singled out ahead of the herd, that says a lot."
"It does," Enji said with a grunt. "Fuyumi's simply not made to be engulfed by such noise," he said as Rei hummed.
"She's not got stage fright but I can imagine this out of the blue would startle her," she noted and he nodded.
"Nee-chan just needs to stick by nii-chan! They can make it through it like she does at school!" Shouto said before covering his mouth as his parents looked at him.
"What happens at school?" Enji asked with suspicion as the boy wore a shaky grin. "Shouto."
"S-She says that he helps her get past reporters and stuff!" The boy admitted while Natsuo rubbed the back of his head.
"S-She once told us that he carried over her the walls at the beginning of the month!" The 13-year-old boy said with a stammer.
"H-Huh?!" Inko gaped in awe. "Baby! Why didn't you tell me?!"
"He can't hear you," Hisashi said with a smirk as Inko blubbered with joy. "Goodness, you're gonna embarrass him to kingdom come."
"He's so helpful!"
Rei chuckled at her friend's emotional spill. "She's always so full of passion," she said to Mitsuki who smirked.
"Man, you should have seen the way she sobbed at her own wedding."
"Ah! Do tell!"
"That's the kid you got into a school-recognized fight with?" Came a boy from Rumi's side.
"Yes, and it was awesome!" She said while he chuckled nervously. "Heh, he's even more awesome to fight than you, Kido!"
The boy gawked in disbelief. His skin was bone white and his eyes bright yellow as he sported a short stack of black hair on his head as he wore their school's gym uniform like the rest of the UA students.
"O-Oi! That's painful!" He said back, slumping. "Dude, no way."
"Hehehe, sounds like someone has to work harder," came a girl at Rumi's other side.
Having blazing light green-yellow hair and big orange-red eyes, her skin was fair as it pulled in a wicked grin.
"I heard about that! What happened?! Who won?!"
"We got interrupted before we got to finish!" Rumi groaned as Kido and the girl blushed a bit. "Not like that, ya perverts."
"O-Oi!"
"Don't fall it, Moe! She'll just pull us into her pace again!"
Rumi snickered.
"This is shaping up to be really good," Nezu said with a grin as Vlad smirked, their announcer grinning. "What say you, Present Mic?"
He was a slim man with fair skin, concentric green-and-yellow eyes, and long yellow hair that was gelled up into a large bird wing's form.
Wearing orange visor sunglasses, a black one-piece jumpsuit with hard leather on his shoulders and elbow. He had a gray, neck brace-like, set of speakers around his neck and had on black boots with fingerless black gloves.
"The boy is good," Yamada Hizashi, Present Mic, said with a snicker. "He wasn't fazed until we turnt up, that's some amazing posture."
"Obito Midoriya has been known to show a good amount of composure during every situation," Vlad said with a smirk. "He's my top student of the year. Hell, he might be in my Top 3 for every year I've taught."
"That's big praise," Mic said with a chuckle as the students were lined up. "I'm sure he's not slacking like I might have when I was but a student."
"Not even close."
"This will be a great showing for him," Nezu said with a grin. "Obito-kun's control over multiple forms of mastery is scary. He even matched up with a third-year in the past month."
"No way!" Hizashi gaped. "That kid's an animal… no offense," he said as Vlad King started laughing.
"None taken!"
"I didn't care for that at all," Obito said at the front of Class A.
"Heheheheh," Keigo smirked after wiping away a tear. "That was GOLD."
"Dude, there's no way for him to not have singled you out!" Yu laughed. "Oh, God, perfection comes with its downsides, doesn't it?"
"It means senpai's already got the world's attention, doesn't it!?" Kaoruko said with a big grin as Onemu squawked while Bocho raised her hands in cheer.
"N-No, dammit! I let him get ahead of me?!" The bovine girl gasped in horror.
"You got it, O-kun!" The 'noh' girl said in support.
Obito's eyebrow twitched. "Right."
Yoha chuckled next to Ryukyu, the dragoon heroine blinking.
"Huh, he's already making an image, huh?" She noted with some surprise.
"Obito-kun is both a cool-headed individual while sporting a hot spirit, it's amazing to watch," the snake girl said with a grin as Ryukyu snorted. "Why, that kind of composure is important, no?"
"It's certainly not unwanted."
"Now, will the top scorer of Class A come forward?!" Midnight asked with a grin as Obito snorted before Keigo pushed him forward, much to his disbelief.
"Excuse me?!" He balked while the bird boy smirked.
"You're my representative, duh," the bird boy said. "I'm no good with crowds and the like. Speak as my No.2."
"That confidence is gonna get you hurt, Keigo-kun."
"Noted but my dear-old stagefright."
Obito's eyebrow twitched before he stepped forward and onto a stage ahead of the Hero Courses, Business Department Course, the Support Course, and the General Education Course. "Hehe, a rep huh?! Man, the kids this year are something else!"
Something to say huh? "..." Obito's eyes narrowed.
If he was going to end up in this position, despite everything that's happened to him over the past couple of months… Well, guess it was time to go all-in, yes?
"Hmph," Obito took her offered microphone. "The only thing stopping every single one of you from reaching the top… IS ME," he said with finality as the students, the audience, and even the principal gasped at. "You think you can make it to the top and not see me there? Do you think that top scorer placement means anything?! You've got some big egos, you know that?!"
Yu's, Keigo's, and Kaoruko's mouths just dropped while Fuyumi's eyes widened.
"Dad, any last words to handle this event?" Fuyumi asked as the large group of families moved into the stadium.
"..." Endeavor, the No.2 Flame Hero, narrowed his eyes ahead of them. "You have to stand out. Among everything else, doing good, facing your peers, among everything else…"
"You show them who you are."
"You think you can talk down to us?!" A Class B Hero student shouted.
"YEAH?! We'll bring you down in a second! You're not even the top in your own class!"
"I'm not impressed," Obito said flatly as they yelled at him while Nemuri looked giddy with excitement. "But, since you all believe you can say that," he smirked. "From here on out, there'll be no games, I'll be Number 1 in every event. Forget Keigo, the lazy bird," the boy, himself, laughed. "I'm gonna make sure you remember where your finish line is."
Hisashi, Masaru, Enji, and Mitsuki started laughing outright.
Inko's eyes wobbled. "Fame's changed my baby!"
"N-Nii-chan?!" Izuku's eyes widened.
This was so unlike him! This outspoken confidence, the posturing, the words.
So, why did Izuku feel so riled up? What was this energy that had taken over his body?
Why did he want to compete with his brother, so badly, right now?
"Hehehehee…" Katsuki's grin was running on all cylinders. "Ya feel it, doncha, Izu?" Izuku's eyes shined. "This is what it means… THIS IS THE TOP!"
Shouto's eyes gleamed with an energy about them that could only be caused by Obito's words.
"You want to beat me? THEN DON'T HOLD BACK! THIS IS YOUR TIME TO SHINE! BUT YOU MUST OUTSHINE ME!"
His body trembled in excitement at the idea.
Natsuo gaped along with his mother as the two just watched the entire stadium become absorbed in Obito's out-of-nowhere high energy.
Rumi cackled along with Moe Kamiji while Kido snickered.
"The guy's got it, right!" She said with a big grin.
"He knows how to push them forward, that's for sure," Moe said with a big grin. "Man, what I wouldn't have given for him to be in our class. That kind of confidence could have put even Rumi on the back foot."
"The hell it would!"
"Right," Kido said with a smirk. "He's nowx got a reputation to keep up. Don't slack off."
The young rabbit woman looked even more excited.
"O-Oh," Yoha blushed a bit. "T-That's some confidence, good God."
Ryukyu even swallowed as well, nodding.
'Man, I didn't have nearly that much pizzaz when I was here,' she whined mentally.
The kid hadn't just put a target on his back from students.
He'd likely easily done so with all of the Heroes.
"... This kid's something else," Yamada said in some awe as he heard the stadium. "Heheheheh! Obito-kun knows exactly what he's doing!"
"He does, doesn't he?" Nezu said with a chuckle. "It's clear to me that he's encouraging them. Despite his second-place status, I question if he's not correct. Is he capable of claiming the top spot for every event? Or will he flounder? It's these types of things that make heroes."
"It is," Vlad said with a smirk. "And lazy bird is right! Dammit, Keigo!"
"Stagefright at its finest," Present Mic said before he smirked. "But things went way more than just well."
"We've got a competition," Nezu said with a grin.
~NRK~
He blinked.
"He's quite the boy, Dabi," Ujiko said with a smirk. "That's the kind of energy society thrives off of."
"Hmph, he does, does he?" Dabi said but his eyes searched Obito's own. 'They don't have the same fire, do they?' So, was he posturing?
From what'd been said, he wasn't even the top scorer. He was second-place… so where was all this blustering coming from?
You were second place… so why are you so confident?
~NRK~
He stared in awe at the boy on screen, looking at him with a big grin.
"This boy, Nighteye… he's got confidence!" He said, broad chest out and puffed, his energy at maximum! "Outstanding show, my boy!"
'Nighteye' smiled as he pulled up Obito's files. "He may very well be an amazing successor."
"He might be, doesn't he?" The hero said with a smirk.
~NRK~
Annoying! Annoying!
Who did this son of a bitch think he was?! He was a mere NPC in his games!
Red eyes narrowed as he scratched his neck.
"So… itchy… itchy!"
~NRK~
Obito handed back the microphone to Nemuri who grinned like she'd won the lottery.
"Hell, yes! Kid! This is the type of crap we live for!" She said with a big grin. "Haha! Then no time for waiting! It's time to see your first obstacles!"
A giant screen beneath the announcer's booth, two on the stadium walls, and one blackboard-sized one from the floor on stage sparked to life before several black blurs appeared on the screen.
The students watched with interest as the phrases came to a stop from their rotation.
[Platform Jumping]
Obito's eyes narrowed as one of the four entrances out of the stadium opened up, their way to go.
"Get to your starting zone!" Midnight declared with a giggle.
Obito didn't hesitate and hopped off the stage before making his way, his class mobbing him.
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!" Onemu gaped at him as the fire-breather smirked. "Excuse me?! Where's this energy when we fought, dammit?!"
"It was necessary. Especially as someone's representative," Obito said, looking at Keigo who grinned nervously. "I'm going to transfer all of this to you, you know that, right?"
"... D-Don't get any mad ideas, now," the bird boy said nervously.
"I'm not mad."
"That's pretty mad," Yu said with a big grin. "Dude! That energy was intense! I felt my bones shaking!" She declared as Kaoruko giggled.
"That was exactly the kind of energy we needed!" The Bubble girl realized. "I'm not nervous anymore."
"Good, it'll leave you all ready to contend with me," Obito said nonchalantly as Bocho gasped.
"O-kun! This is the energy that leads the world!" She declared and Obito chuckled nervously.
'Let's not,' he thought. "Well, I wouldn't want to do it, too much overhead."
Keigo still grinned a bit. 'The PHSC wouldn't want someone so boisterous… Heh,' maybe this would work out. 'Though, I didn't like those ominous words,' Keigo's smirk grew shaky. "Y-You were joking earlier, right?"
"Was I not just your representative?"
"..."
"Good, now you know."
Fuyumi giggled from Obito's side. "You took my father's words to heart," she said as he nodded.
"If I'm going to be here, I'll excel in every way possible. You'll have a large hill ahead, Fuyumi," he said and she giggled some more before her eyes shined in competitive glory. 'There it is,' her eyes were filled with the right emotion.
That was what she'd need to push her boundaries.
Still, were these guys really crowding him right now?!
He grunted as he was crushed between Fuyumi and Keigo, the two grinning nervously as they were packed in like sardines.
"W-Whoa! Chill out!" Yu shouted to no avail.
"Y-Yeah, a bit much," Kaoruko said, back-to-back with Keigo who grinned with a nervous swallow. "S-Sorry, Keigo-kun."
"N-Nah, it's nothing," he said as the gate began to show three lights. "Oh, no."
Kaoruko opened her top and rolled up her sleeves, revealing a white crop top and athletic arm sleeves, removing the sleeves and stuffing them in her pocket.
Fuyumi tightened her zipper while Yu grinned, opening up her own and tying it around her neck like a scarf while pulling her long white shirt out of her pants to let it come down to her knees.
It blinked red… before hitting yellow.
Onemu growled as she tied her gym top around her waist, showing a yellow muscle shirt beneath while Bocho bobbed in place like a bobblehead.
'It's about to begin!' Obito said mentally as he breathed in and out slowly, flames caressing his clothes. 'Time for a statement.'
It hit green-
He exploded out above and forward ahead of the crowd in an instant with a white burst of fire on his feet.
"Dammit!" Keigo jumped high before taking off, Kaoruko latched onto his back. "W-When?!"
"Hehe, sorry!" She said with a grin.
The three looked out to see numerous raised gray pillars… after a decently big field of robots.
Obito's eyes narrowed as he ran before jumping up above one 2-Pointer type.
He lashed out in an arc of white that decapitated it before blowing out a glob of white fire to grab its big, flat, octagon-shaped head.
Obito's eyes locked onto the approaching robots around him before breathing out, flames concentrating around his right leg before he jumped.
"Burning Divider."
He ax-kicked the ground.
And it split in two in a wide circle, destroying the area where it landed.
"Holy moly!" Izuku gaped while Hizashi cackled in pride.
"Yes! Destroy everything, my son!" He declared as Inko sniffled.
"No! Be a good boy!" She said defiantly.
"That's a kick of justice!" Katsuki said.
"It's a kick alright," Mitsuki said with a snort. "God, he'd be a real destructive BRAT if he had Kacchi's personality," she said, ruffling her son's hair.
"It's scary," Masaru said as his glasses glinted in the sunlight.
"Hah!"
"That strength is greater than I expected," Enji said with some surprise. "The flames condensed around his foot… but is that really it?"
"It happened a few times," Rei said and Enji looked at her, surprised, as she giggled. "I-It wasn't easy to see but he's been sending flames at his feet since the start of this entire event."
"W-When did you notice?"
"It was before he even made it to the field."
Enji hadn't, too caught up in Obito's proclamations from earlier. 'No wonder. He probably hid it under his pants leg.'
With those 'ninja sandals', he called them, on his feet, Endeavor had been thinking he hadn't done anything.
Natsuo's eyes bugged out. "F-Fire can do that?!"
"C-Can I do that?!" Shouto wondered with shining eyes as his sibling paled.
"L-Let's not, please."
~NRK~
Dabi flinched back at the sheer strength in that kick.
"What the hell?! Isn't he a fire-breather?!" He choked.
"He is, isn't he?" Ujiki snickered with eyes full of sick delight. "But he's not a fool who only uses his quirk in one way, Dabi! He's seemingly perfected his control!"
"..." Dabi clenched his hands as Obito Midoriya lunged out of the crater he'd made, legs snapping out with a growing ball of white flames that carved through robot after robot. 'Strong enough to beat me, though?' He didn't know.
If this guy was getting buddy-buddy with the Todoroki family, that might make things difficult.
Ice spread over the field in a line towards the ahead boy and Obito screeched to a halt before slamming his foot down before the ice could reach.
Steam and fire burst out only to be blocked by a cylinder of ice, Fuyumi Todoroki jumping over it.
Blue eyes locked on.
~NRK~
Obito flipped back before using his held robot head as a platform itself.
Keigo and Kaoruko balked as he kicked off it and clenched his hand tightly, the flames holding up the head expanding into a grand ball of fire that nearly created a wall of fire that blocked off the platforms.
Keigo's eyes narrowed and a decent amount of his feathers flew off. 'He's more controlled than that, these flames!'
He cut through with a combined effort.
'Aren't that hot!'
Kaoruko raised her hand before clenching it, bubbles shooting out ahead of them with a swipe of her hand. She swung back too, spreading out bubbles that hung behind the flame wall.
"Heh, smart!" Keigo said before she giggled. 'Oh, God, why is she in a crop top?!' And, from his peeks back, she looked real good in it, too! 'Dammit!'
Behind the wall, Fuyumi frowned before Onemu blasted past her, full bull form as she reared her arm back.
Then she skidded to a stop and swung out counterclockwise.
"Backlash WAVE!"
Wind pressure sprung up and threw the Todoroki's hair about, nearly breaking it out of its ponytail tie.
The fire burst back along with the bubbles behind it.
"Crap!" Kaoruko said in horror along with Keigo. "Up! Up!" She pulled on Keigo in urgency.
Keigo did in terror as well, shooting up away from the bubbles only to grimace as he struggled against Onemu's attack.
"Bad winds!" He shouted as they flew awkwardly to the side. "Urgent landing!" Keigo added as his wings flapped as hard as they could, the two of them coming to a roll atop a platform. "Oh, so close."
"Y-Yeah," Kaoruko said as the bubbles from before slicked the platforms below them. "... W-Wait, didn't we forget someone?!" She shrieked as they looked up-
"I-I can't believe it!" Present Mic's voice came over the speakers as Obito smirked in his relaxed position, one leg pulled up while the other kicked back and forth slowly from the edge of the 'WIN' platform, his pants legs, up to his knees, burnt. "O-Obito Midoriya has taken first place with EASE!"
They choked in disbelief as he smirked down at them.
"My words aren't for show!" He declared to his gaping competitors.
~NRK~
"Damn!" Hisashi balked as Masaru chuckled. "I-I mean, yeah, flame clouds, but this is ridiculous!"
"Nii-chan won!" Izuku said as Kacchan fistpumped.
"HECK YEAH!"
"Hmph, his condensed flames, yes?" Enji said as Rei nodded with some shock. "Those platforms… They go up to 80 meters into the air. Yet, he got atop the last one so quickly. Are his flames' bursts that powerful?"
"W-Whoa," Natsuo balked. "I-I guess his words weren't just words," he said to Shouto who nodded.
"Hmm… Nee-chan! You can do it!" Shouto cheered with resolve. "She's gotta make it in the Top TEN!"
"Hmph, that's certainly the most doable," Mitsuki said with a smirk as Inko nodded.
"O-Obito-kun has been training them all, though. Who can reach up there the fastest?" She wondered.
"Damn!" Rumi said before laughing like an idiot. "Dude, that's a minute or two under my time!" She cackled.
"Is there another monster like her?" Kido asked in horror as Moe chuckled nervously.
"It seems so…"
"Damn! Get 'em, kid!" Yamada declared as Nezu chuckled. "He really wasn't playing with them!"
"He's calculating every moment. That flame wall… they were so distracted by it and the others they never noted his climb," Vlad said with one eye closed. "With his flames' speed, the condensing on his feet, and his quick movements, Obito dominated with ease," he said with a smirk.
"I knew it!" Nezu said. "I thought it was weird at first. How'd he get such strength in a short amount of time but he's adding every time he breathes out. He's taking every available opportunity to increase his output."
"T-That seems less like the thinking of a student and more of a hero," Present Mic said with a nervous grin.
"Well, that's why they're here!"
Yoha gaped as Ryukyu chuckled.
"He condensed his flames time and time again. I could see it," the dragoness said with wonder. "It's the amount of control, though, that makes it scary," she said nervously. 'No, seriously, how many steps ahead has he planned it!?' This was ridiculous!
"... Obito-kun has always been a calculator. He's just like us, too, still learning but his quirk, to him, it's like it's second nature down to his blood moving in his veins. He's a real animal," Yoha stated with a chuckle. "My underclassmen are seriously amazing, too."
The other students' disbelief was the right moment for Fuyumi Todoroki to shoot past them with rising icicles.
There was still a race going on, after all.
~NRK~
Fuyumi jumped from icicle to icicle, eyes shining as she looked up at that figure on the highest platform.
'You're always like this!' She thought as she jumped onto a platform that was right below Keigo's and Kaoruko's own. 'You're always moving ahead. So strong, so calm, so smart!' Fuyumi praised as she watched her friends start climbing the stairs between platforms.
She slammed her hands down and ice shot her up several platforms, allowing the white-haired girl to jump ahead with a determined smile.
'Each time, I can never tell what you are. A genius? Hard worker? A Natural?' She thought as she saw Keigo begin to take off into the air.
A hand was thrown out in a swing that caused him to squawk as several pillars of ice shot out ahead of him.
"Fuyu!" Keigo cursed as he saw the length of the wall. "This isn't familiar or anything!" He exclaimed with one long feather held in his hand.
More feathers attached themselves before vibrating.
"You need a weapon with more stopping power for close-range. It doesn't hurt, Keigo."
"So, what should I do?"
"Heh, get creative."
'Ya son of a bitch!' He grinned as he cleaved through the ice with a pair of swings. 'Training was always so structured! Creativity was accounted for… but this is different, this is my creativity!'
He flew faster, cleaving through ice structure after structure, aiming for that figure in the distance.
Yu grinned as she grew to the size of a woman twice the height of Endeavor, shirt remarkably tight but still solid.
She jumped with the strength that her new size gave to her, leaping past levels and levels.
"Don't forget, you gain the strength of the size you grow to, with more physical training, that increase becomes bigger. Use that knowledge."
'I'm really giving you a lot, Fu-chan!' Yu thought as she made it halfway up the climb in seconds. 'Seriously!'
Obito was a serious catch! Couldn't just ignore someone like that!
'But I know you know,' she thought as she grew a few more feet, hearing her shirt stretch to its limits. 'So, I'll simply do my best, and if he's feeling it! No hard feelings!'
Yu punched through several pillars and jumped from one to another of the falling debris, growing with close-to-ideal sizes to balance well.
Kaoruko hummed as she set up a slick surface on many of the platforms with controlled flicks of her wrists.
Then, using momentum, she hopped from each edge dangerously but with practice.
"Environments I can see but isn't this dangerous?"
"Maybe but not everything can be done safely, I suppose. Still, this is as safe as it can get."
She grinned as she put two years of tight rope practice into play, jumping with increased momentum each time before making stickier bubbles.
Deep breaths with concentration allowed control that she hadn't known she could have.
Kaoruko threw some at Keigo's wings and he wobbled.
"G-Geez, this is the thanks I get?!" He said and she giggled with a big grin that sent his face into lava. "Daaammmmiiiittt!" He hit a lower platform. 'No, seriously, these women are going to get me killed.'
~NRK~
From within one of the resting rooms, watching the screens before raising a brow at Keigo's position.
'What is up with him?' His red face might have been bad. 'A fever?' She wondered with a hum.
Well, Keigo didn't seem feverish, he wasn't sweating harshly or gasping for breath due to being sick but due to effort.
Obito's claim of the Number 1 spot wasn't for boast, he'd completely dominated the current course with ease and that was terrifying.
He was just a normal kid, right? There was no way he was some super-prodigy… right?
~NRK~
Obito watched them all with pride as they fought for the 'top'.
Training these teens… being honest, he found that he liked working with people with different quirks and teaching them how to apply themselves.
He chuckled as a big black blob came into view that latched onto a platform.
It shrunk onto its contact, allowing Bocho Shinpi to stand the closest to him, much to his amusement.
"I-I'm aiming for the top!" She declared shakily before squeaking at the ice, feathers, and wind pressure that had her teetering on the edge. "Eep!"
"Hm, hm, hm, focus!" He commanded and she squeaked once more before growing bigger which became her downfall.
When she got big enough to latch onto the next platform, a bunch of feathers shot around her before pulling her back.
"E-Eh?!" The Nob Blob shrieked as she was pulled back long enough to allow several figures to overtake her. "Nooo!"
She grew bigger, dispelling the binds, and reached out in a blanket shape over Keigo, Fuyumi, and Kaoruko.
"Eh?!" The Todoroki jumped before reaching another platform. "Oh, God!"
Keigo grinned nervously as he flew down between pillars, ignoring the blanket of 'Bocho' above. 'She's seriously taking the blob thing to its limits!' Well, training had done well for her but it was kind of worrying right now!
He swerved in between platforms before rising behind the WIN platform. 'Second-place isn't so-'
Ice exploded out from one platform to his side and over his opening, several other platforms, and some of Bocho's body.
"No!"
Fuyumi grinned nervously as she made it those last couple of steps, breathing out frost as she fell to her knees, small red flames circling her.
"Thank you," she said as she let out a sigh of relief.
"And, coming in second, is Fuyumi TODOROKI!"
The cheers were loud enough to even reach them here, causing her to giggle a bit.
"Damn, you beat us!" Kaoruko said as she and Keigo barely made it onto the platform at the same time. "Dang it!" She whined as Keigo chuckled.
"Well, which spots did we get?" He asked as they looked back to the stadium. "We'll find out, I'd say."
"Mmmm," Bocho pouted as she landed on the platform, helped up by Obito and Fuyumi. "Fifth place."
"It's still higher than 42nd," Fuyumi said, groaning a bit as she warmed up. "Mmmm, thanks again, Obito-kun, this is a lot easier than waiting for it."
"It's what it is."
Right then, Yu and Onemu crested the edge of the platform in unison.
"MADE IT!" They shouted, slapping their hands onto its surface only to stare at one another. "No, I made it first!"
"Hm, hm, they've got that same energy," Kaoruko said as she sat down, cross-legged by Keigo. "But, man, that took some effort," she said, wiping away some of her sweat.
Keigo had simply been looking at her to smile only to turn away with a red face from supple skin. 'Dammit!'
God, d-did he think she was attractive?!
"My life is undone," he said and she shot him a raised brow.
"I see. Third place hurt ya that much?"
"... a little bit."
"Maaann! I wanted at least fourth!" Yu cried crocodile tears as Fuyumi giggled a bit, thankfully fully warmed up. "Fu-chan, you did good!" She said while crying, throwing her friend a thumbs-up.
"Thanks. You're still in the Top Ten, though, Yu-chan," Fuyumi said with encouragement.
"M-Maybe."
"God, I dropped from my score placement," Onemu groaned as Bocho smiled.
"It's d-different, though," she said and the bull girl shrugged.
"I guess."
~NRK~
The trip back to the stadium was painless, Obito, Keigo, Bocho, and Yu helping their fellow students to get back more easily.
When they made it, though, the cheers they received were just as loud as when they first arrived.
With more experience with it, they all waved or cheered in Yu's and Kaoruko's cases.
"Woo! We're some mad stars!" Yu said, previous funk completely forgotten. "Hehe~"
"This certainly brings you up!" Kaoruko said with a grin.
"Hm," Obito hummed softly as they returned to the awaiting Midnight. "That's one down," he said blatantly and the sheer gall got many laughing. "What's next?"
"I like that bluntness! A real crowd-pleaser!" She said with a grin before waving her flag with a flourish. "The next game will take place in 20 minutes! That game is!"
The screens spun before coming to a stop on one option.
[Pothole Pass Race]
"What's that?" Yu wondered and Fuyumi explained.
"By getting on a large gravity grid with a team of two to four on a large square sheet, you have to navigate a field of potholes. If you fall in, you lose," the Todoroki explained as the others choked. "If I'm remembering correctly, you can use quirks to cover the holes but if the VIP touches the floor, it's also an automatic loss."
"Correct! The name of the game is headbands and how many!" Midnight said as the screen changed to show their rankings.
Obito Midoriya
Fuyumi Todoroki
Keigo Takami
Kaoruko Awata
Bocho Shinpi
Yu Takeyama
Onemu Shinya
…
…
...
"Yes!" Yu cheered as Onemu slumped in defeat. "I got sixth!"
"And, by way of your standings, these are your points!" Midnight said with an ominous grin that Obito's cheek twitched at.
Then he looked at the screen and just walked off to the side.
"Yeah, this'll be fun," he said as the others gaped.
[Obito Midoriya: TEN MILLION POINTS]
"I am so screwed-"
"Join me!"
"Come on! Class A Supremacy!"
"Ignore them, we can make an outstanding relationship."
"You mean our quirks, right?" Obito asked and the girl blushed. "You mean our quirks, right?!"
He groaned as she grinned.
"Uggh," his eyelids went half-lidded while, a bit away, his friends snickered.
"Ya know, that's certainly a guarantee into the higher standings," Yu said with a shine in her eyes. "Yea, let's go over there!"
"Well, we should still choose our teams, huh?" Umi Hire asked with a whine. "I can do good directions," she offered with despair, ears flagging.
"... Actually," Fuyumi spoke up. "If the goal is to keep or gain the highest scores, we'd need someone who can help up maneuver around, a good blocker, lookout, and reach. Umi-chan, how good are your eyes, seriously?" She asked with determination as Umi blushed a bit before rubbing the back of her head. "You had some of the best sight in our special classes."
"Yeah, well, I can see things pretty clearly over 50 meters. I always went on fishing trips with my parents, we'd find fish of all kinds," she admitted.
"Alright, then will you team with me?" Fuyumi asked with a smile as the fish-eared gal cried tears of joy. "What of you, Keigo-kun?"
"Oh, we're going after the big cheese?" He asked with a smirk as Kaoruko snickered. "Yes, please. I want to take him down before he does anything I'll regret."
"Still worried?" Kaoruko asked with a smirk and he grinned nervously. "Yup!" She laughed some more.
"Hmm, a fourth member," Fuyumi thought as Obito was lifted up by a bigger Yu, a grin on the blonde's face. "You two teamed up?"
"Anything to get away from those animals," Obito said with a flat expression as he was let down. "You all decided yet?"
"I've got Umi-chan and Keigo-kun," Fuyumi said and he nodded.
"The detailed vision of both, along with Umi's hearing and Keigo's feathers, that's a powerful machine," Obito said as the fin-earred girl gaped and blushed. "I can handle most situations but I need back-up," he turned to Bocho who gasped. "Bocho, you mind joining my team?"
"I gotcha, O-kun!" The girl said with a smile. "Now, On-chan, Kao-chan…"
Kaoruko looked between her choices. "Hmmmm," she grinned before taking a stand by Fuyumi, getting a nod from Obito.
"I see, I see. Then, Onemu-"
"I'm coming, I'm coming," the bull girl huffed as Keigo grinned. "Takami, I'll kill you."
His mouth shut and he 'threw away the key' with a grin that most of the group found amusing.
"Come, we'll need to plan," Obito said to the three girls with a nod, walking away. "So, from what you know about the event, what do you all think?"
"Well, we've literally got the winning ticket," Yu said as Onemu nodded. "The fact remains, though, we'll be gunned after like we're prized chicken!" She shivered.
"T-That's true b-but can't we just float away and wait out the end of the match?" Bocho asked but Obito shook his head.
"You need to still have the metal plate they give us to win. Maybe if we don't lose it but that's more difficult than it sounds," he said with a finger raised. "The metal plates fly out of bounds if you don't put weight on them, meaning they need a minimum of two people."
"Wait, why two?" Onemu frowned.
"Because that's the smallest team you can have," Obito said and their eyes widened. "Exactly."
"B-But then you'd be able to just float up there, right?" Yu asked with a frown.
"That'd unwise, never mind that Keigo's a rather amazing swordsman, fighting anyone up on my flame clouds would end badly. What happens if one of them cuts through it? If they fight me and I lose concentration, which of you can promise to catch me?"
"Well…" Yu considered it with a frown. "Aren't you fast enough?"
"Usually but I can't plan for everything. Having a back-up is supposed to be for good reason. Especially if I burn up all the oxygen in an area."
"Well…" She frowned. "So, what can we do?"
"Easy, I shouldn't go up but you all can," Obito said with a nod as Bocho smiled.
"It'd be by clouds, right?" She asked and he nodded.
"I'll give anyone who's given the duty of aerial support a cloud… and one who'll stay by the side of the plate regardless."
"I like that idea," Onemu said with a smirk.
"Good, because you're doing it," Obito said and she grinned. "You've got legitimate long-range attacks. Powerful palm strikes, huh?"
"My family has learned martial arts long before the beginning of quirks," Onemu scoffed. "I have way too much history behind me to ignore the arts and forms."
"T-That's cool!" Bocho said before nervously smiling. "W-What's my job, though?"
"Easy," Obito smirked.
"So, what role am I covering?" Keigo asked while Fuyumi smiled.
"W-Well… You have aerial combat down. I'm sure Obito is already considering all vectors so, with your superior form of flight, we can lock him down before he does something creative," she said.
"We're not going to be trying for the other ones, are we?"
"Not true," Fuyumi smiled as Kaoruko snickered.
"Oh," she said. "We're going for a pincer and smoke. We did that to Obito-senpai a lot."
"What's that mean?" Keigo asked.
"It means us fighting Obito-kun isn't everything, I think?" Umi wondered and the two nodded.
"I'll tell you on the field. Kao-chan is going to be our detractor. She'll send up threats for the others if they try to attack us," Fuyumi added as Kaoruko grinned.
"If I'm remembering correctly, the metal plates are shot out fast like pinballs," the bubble girl said. "So, I'll have to wait until we slow down."
"Well, I could slow you down with my feathers but we'd need to read the field, no?"
"Exactly, you're also our security perimeter with Umi-chan," Fuyumi said as Umi perked up. "You need to keep your ears open for us all. Whether you're looking around or not, you have the widest range of defense."
"... A-Alright!" She said with a swallow of determination. "So, still, are we really about to fight Obito-kun for that headband?"
"If we want to guarantee a win, we'd need to get his one headband or a lot of the other ones… and that's why we're going for both."
The field was set as the groups of students stepped onto decently large metal squares.
"Hmm," Onemu tapped it with her foot. "Ya know, this thing is decently sturdy… I'm terrified."
"Correct thinking," Obito said. "Right now, we're in a situation where we'll be thrown about either by ourselves, our attacks, other teams' attacks, and or bouncing. We have to focus on all of our jobs to keep afloat as is. The first team to gain control over their sheet gets the best advantage."
"T-That's not wrong," Bocho said, tapping the back of the sheet. "So, that's why we're doing things this way?"
"Yes. The faster we control our momentum, the better position we'll be in."
"Still. What do you expect me to do, Obi-kun?" Yu asked while tapping her noggin. "I mean, I'm gonna be so far away from the action, it'll be hard to help."
"You're our last line of defense," Obito said with a smirk. "You still being up there is our win condition as things continue."
"... That's not cryptic or anything."
"It shouldn't be."
"Alright!" Came Midnight from atop that mobile platform from earlier, standing at the side of the center of the field. "Turn on the gravity!"
The groups jumped as their metal plates shifted upward.
"... Oh, this might be more difficult than I expected," Obito said.
"O-Oh… Oh no," Fuyumi uttered as the group felt their plate's weight distribution. "This might be harder than it looks."
"Yeah," Keigo said, standing up just fine while the girls kneeled onto the metal for stability. "Still, this is good. With the plates, we've got a better chance at controlling the field," he added as a trio of traffic lights sprung up by midnight. "And it seems like things are about to start up."
"We know our plan! Time to beat the competition!" Fuyumi said solidly, getting smirks and grins aplenty from her teammates.
"Yeah!"
It hit yellow.
"Our plans are in motion!" Obito said as he stood up from the plate, arms crossed as the girls crouched down.
Bocho was in the middle of the back while Onemu and Yu took up the front corners.
"Let's do this!"
"YEAH!"
The lights hit green and the four were shot out to the right, Obito holding his posture as his eyes blazed red, capturing Keigo's flight into the air. 'They're capitalizing!' Still, these forces weren't to be messed with.
His head swirled around as he saw all the others.
They bounced off the side of the 'arena' and they nearly wobbled the entire thing.
"Ten minutes of this?!" Yu gaped as their sheet didn't spin, at least. "Plan now?!"
"Yes!" Obito called out and the three grinned.
Onemu grew to her full quirk transformation while Yu and Bocho hit the ten-foot height level, bodies growing to compensate.
And it did magnificent work as they came to a slow shift in momentum, much to Obito's smirk.
"Good!"
He spat out three flame clouds and Yu and Onemu jumped onto ttwo of hem as Bocho grew more before covering half of their metal plate.
"Going up!" Yu said as she rose into the air while Onemu grinned from beside their plate.
"Alright!" The bull-girl grinned. "Still, what's our first move?"
"Getting headbands!" Obito said before his eyes moved to their left. 'Coming for the golden ticket, eh, Fuyumi?' He thought with a smirk. "Left, Onemu!"
She saw the approaching Fuyumi Group and grinned as her flaming platform widened, giving her perfect stance area.
"BULL FORCE!"
Fuyumi's eyes widened as their plate was thrown to the side only for her eyes to widen. "D-Dang it!" She swiped her hand over the ground as she saw an odd-looking patch of ground.
They were thrown up a slope of ice and landed heavily on the other side as a rumble came from beneath her ice, causing it to shatter and fall into a hole.
"T-They knew!" Umi said before her ears perked up, eyes snapping behind them. "Incoming!"
Kaoruko's eyes narrowed before she swung out behind herself, bubbles filling the air as the opposing team gaped.
One of their members, a person with an earth transmitter quirk, threw his hands out towards the ground and a large half-pipe of rock had them cresting the bubbles.
"Crap!" Kaoruko said only for a volley of red feathers to slam their attackers back to the floor before spinning, the group of students growing more wobbly the more they spun.
Then they hit a pothole and screamed as they fell, the feathers swiping by before returning to a grinning Keigo who tied their headband around his neck.
"Nice, Keigo-kun!" Fuyumi said with a grin before her eyes looked around for Obito. 'Where is he?'
"They're good. So, that's Keigo's role," Obito noted as he, Bocho, and Onemu shot to the side, thanks to the bull girl's temporary landing, and attacking, on the plate. "Still, that's the right idea, lower the numbers and we'll deal with fewer groups."
"Still, how do we do that?" Bocho said in her blobby form. "Only you can attack reliably."
"What's that supposed to mean?! I can attack just fine!" Onemu said.
"Y-Yeah but you'll tire yourself out," Bocho said as the bull grunted.
"I know how to take concentration breaths, I'm good."
"Hold on, 'what' breaths?" Obito asked and the girl smirked. "After, not now. And she's right," he said as his eyes narrowed before a quick whistle of fire slammed into the ground by their side.
Out of five meters, two holes broke open, allowing a pair of approaching teams to balk in horror.
One barely dodged while the other couldn't in time.
Obito shot out a stream of flame that snatched up their mask before bringing it back to his hand.
"Easy. That's eight total students down."
"Oh, this one's tricky," Hisashi said as Masaru hummed.
"It's a bit like Minesweeper. Each one you break, another potential team gone but also your chances of going down as well. And, adding onto that, what happens if they actually fall in with their points? Do they just not count anymore?" The glasses-wearing man hummed. "Dangerous."
"They have to make it with their points and their plates, it's like being surrounded by villains," Enji said. "For them, this is the moment where they decide if they can handle pressure."
"S-Still, isn't this too much?" Inko asked.
"To be fair, if too many fall in, they start to tally the highest from the holes, too," Rei answered. "This is honestly the best way to promote pressure through games."
Enji's eyes went to his wife in confusion but no questions were asked.
"Yeah! Knock 'em down!" Rumi declared with a grin as Moe hummed.
"I'd have just flown," she said while Kido hummed.
"With my bandages, I could push our plate up over and over again so we'd be in no danger," he said.
"Nice!" Yoha said with a grin as Ryukyu chuckled.
"They're good planners. Pretty surprising to see such balanced teams, too. Obito's got weight control while Fuyumi's got the flight advantage," the dragoon hero said. "Still, as things get down to the wire, that's when the big guns are gonna come out… I-I think."
"If that ends up being the case, won't they be too fast to even attack?"
"It depends on how fast Obito will allow his plate to go. We're already down two minutes."
"Man, I remember doing this in my second year," Yamada said with a chuckle. "We eked out a win with my vocals."
"This time, we have such a group of powerful quirks involved. Unlike your year, only two groups have fallen out of the running by now," Nezu said as Present Mic smirked.
"Still, the tops of their classes are on the same team and they've trained together," Vlad noted with interest. "I really hope they all make it to the battle round. Watching how they've grown that way is more interesting."
Yu peered down before coming face-to-face with Keigo.
"H-Hey, buddy," she said nervously as he snickered.
"I'm not gonna let you take that fall, calm down," he said and she breathed out in relief. "Just looking at your plate."
She blinked before gasping trying to shoo him like he was some bird.
"Shoo! Shoo! Go away!"
"O-Oi, I'm pretty sure that's racist!"
"Beat it, birdman!"
"Ah, my fatal weakness," he said dramatically as he shot some feathers down towards her plate. "Oops."
Those projectiles were quickly incinerated by a burst of fire from the empty flame cloud at Obito's side.
The boy himself looked up at him and Keigo grinned nervously.
"Bye!" He shot away.
"Yeah, you better run!"
Obito scoffed as Onemu snickered.
"What can you see, Bocho-kun?" Obito asked as the noh blob extended up and looked around.
"Well, another pair of teams just fell. So, we've got seven left," she said as she went back to her normal shape. "Fu-chan is across the field."
"So, we're good. If three fall, no matter what, we're in this!" Onemu said and Obito nodded before standing up from his crouched state. "H-Huh?"
"Onemu, come back on," he said as he brought her flame cloud back over their plate, placing her down. "It's time to ensure some points," Obito said with blazing red eyes.
Then the clouds were condensed around his feet and he floated.
"I'll be right back." Was all he said.
He then vanished in a burst of white.
"H-Huh?!" Came a voice from a bit away and the girls barely turned to catch another burst of white. "M-My headband?!"
Another yelp happened like that and they turned to see Obito crouching behind a pair of boys, a headband in his hands.
"Thanks," he said before stomping down on their plate, sending them into a crazed spin. "Later."
He was up in the sky above Keigo in seconds, the two boys locking eyes.
"Come and get me."
"Magnificent bastard!"
They flew about, a white arc followed by a red blur that blew Yu's hair to the side, causing her to cover her face. "Seriously?!" So, he'd been lying? Or… "This is a plan thing, isn't it?" She nodded to herself, never noticing the headband around her neck.
Keigo focused before sending a wall of feathers in front of Obito.
"Three minutes!" Midnight shouted from below.
Gold eyes narrowed before he shot off to the side as Obito flipped back in the air, eyes on him. 'Yeah, keep doing that,' he smirked as he came in with two long feathers in his hands.
Red eyes narrowed and a flaming foot shot back into his quickly-made block.
Success!
Obito's eyes widened as something swiped past his neck. 'A trick!' He thought as he brought both his feet into Keigo's block, knocking him back. 'Out of oxygen here!' Obito thought with a mental command.
Yu's cloud shot over to him as he fell and she grew to 12 feet before catching him. "Nice! Finally got to do something!"
Obito smirked. "Whatever you do, keep your hair around your neck," he said as he kicked off the flame cloud. "Don't forget!"
Yu blinked as she did so involuntarily, confused. "Hmph?" She blinked and looked down at her neck to see…? "When did this get here?" Yu thought before shrugging.
No need for checking if Obito was right.
Obito, meanwhile, shot towards Fuyumi's group only to be intercepted by Keigo.
"Back for more?!"
"More of your points!"
The bird boy's feathers shot out into a tornado that left him with barely enough to float while Obito brought both his hands together and jutted them out as he whistled.
Fire burst out in a series of sharp angles that nailed the flyer in the back.
'Nearly hit the head!' He had to be careful.
Obito always made those weird gestures when he focused fully onto his quirk's next move. Use that information!
Then the raven-haired boy smirked and Keigo paled.
"Yikes!" Fuyumi called from below as several small explosions reached the boys-in-the-sky's ears.
Ice shot up to their level, sending the Fuyumi gang past the two males.
Obito burst over and reached out for the headband around her neck, a smirk on his upside-down face as Fuyumi gaped in horror.
They passed and he grinned as he shot back from Keigo's feather blows.
"CRAP!"
"Hehehe, not bad boy," Hisashi said as Inko breathed in and out rapidly. "Slow breaths, hun."
"Haaaaa..!"
"Much better."
"You got this, Obito-nii!" Izuku cheered.
"Get the bands back!" Katsuki shouted.
"Yeah, bring her down!" Mitsuki joined in. "No offense, Rei."
"None taken, it's not like you've known Fuyumi for that long," Rei said. "Do your best, honey!"
"Get him, nee-chan!" Natsuo shouted.
Shouto was torn. "Uh… Uh…! Win!" He chose the middle ground.
Enji leaned forward as Masaru cupped his chin.
"One minute left," they said in unison.
"Kick 'em down!" Rumi commanded as Obito kicked off of Keigo's forearms, sending them both in different directions. "HELL YEAH!"
"Oh crap, I think I'm getting too excited," Kido said as he leaned onto the railings. "YEAH! HIT 'IM WHERE IT HURTS!"
Moe was simply cackling at the two idiots.
"W-We're almost there!" Yoha noted with a swallow as Ryukyu bit her knuckle in anticipation. "A minute on the clock!"
"They've ignored the other contestants, though!" Ryukyu said.
Then two of the other five groups took out one another in an act of self-destruction, both falling into holes.
"I-If the last one falls, it's a guarantee!"
"Less than 60 seconds on the clock!" Yamada shouted with excitement. "This is it! We're in the final stretch!" He shouted even as Nezu blinked at something… interesting.
Then he chuckled. 'The boy's smarter than I realized,' he thought with a smirk as Vlad blinked.
"Wait, why haven't the points been updated?" He asked as Nezu chuckled.
"Don't worry, we can manually change depending on who has the right headbands in the end."
Onemu growled before rearing back both her arms. "Bull Crash!"
Both tensed palms shot out, throwing out explosive air that knocked another team off their plate. "Yes! Guaranteed!"
"O-On-chan! We're going too fast!" Bocho said in horror as they bounced off the side of the arena.
The only thing keeping them down was her increasing her size but she was reaching her limit!
Onemu grimaced from her pressed-into-Bocho-blob position. "Only a little more! Hold it!"
"!" Bocho groaned but held onto tightly.
"Come on, Obito! Bring it home!" Onemu shouted as Obito came towards them… only for her to pale. "No!"
His eyes widened as he turned in the air and crossed his arms to intercept… Fuyumi?! "We won't lose, Obito-kun!" She said to him, latching onto his forearms.
Ice shot down his body and he didn't have the power to break free and fend her off in equal measure… so she took it.
She took the headband he'd stolen.
She kicked him away and was caught by Keigo as Obito breathed out red flames that engulfed his body, the boy barely landing onto Bocho.
"O-kun?!"
"And time!" Came Midnight's voice as the plates stopped moving. "Hehehehehe! You kids are something else!" She said before smirking at Obito. "Didn't keep your promise, huh?"
Then Obito smirked as Fuyumi and Keigo landed, looking confused.
"What are you talking about?" He said with a chuckle. "We're still in first place."
Those in the area froze and Fuyumi gasped as she looked at the headband in her hand in horror.
"W-What?! T-Then where's the ten million?!" She squealed as Yu came down.
"Yu, mind showing your headband?" Obito asked smugly as Keigo froze.
"W-Wait, what?!"
Yu blinked before lifting her hair to-
"When the hell?!" She choked at the ten million headband around her neck. "H-Huh?!"
"Like I said, still number one."
The crowd gaped at his ploy.
"That's my boy!" Hisashi cheered with a yell. "MY BOY!"
"H-Huh?!" Inko choked in disbelief along with most of the close-families. "I-I don't understand! W-When did he-?"
"Kid, when did you?!" Midnight asked over the microphone as Obito's smirk was shooting on all cylinders.
"It was at the very beginning of my, and Keigo's, aerial battle. I gave it to Yu for safekeeping while using the other headbands I picked up to trick Fuyumi's team."
Enji's eyes widened as his mouth fell. "The sheer skill needed to pull that off… during the pass-by?!" He realized in shock as the cameras replayed the beginning of the two boys' aerial fight.
Then it zoomed in as they passed Yu, the sight of Obito's hand slipping the headband through her hair causing everyone to choke.
"Right then!?" Rei realized in shock as Masaru's glasses slipped down his face.
"... HEEHHEEH! YES!" Katsuki cheered. "NUMBER ONE!"
"Holy crap," Rumi blinked as Kido fainted and Moe gasped. "What the hell?! I knew he was good… but that good?!"
"I-I don't understand, how did no one notice?!" Moe asked.
And, luckily, her question was asked.
"How could you plan for them not checking? Hell, what about the obvious scoreboard?!" Midnight asked in shock.
"That's why you don't let them think about it. They might think the scoreboard is broken, maybe it bugged out. The only way they'd know for sure is to check the headband. By then, I'd already been distracting them enough to keep that from happening. Pretend like they have the best headband. Give my all for a measly 840 points."
"This kid's a demon!"
Yoha just sat there slack-jawed in awe at the sheer intelligence on display.
"N-No freaking way…" She said in awe as Ryukyu scratched her cheek.
"I knew he did something," she said as Yoha choked. "I told you, my eyes are good. The moment they passed that giant girl was when things got weird. I found it weird he'd pat her on the back so oddly. So, it was him hiding the points… damn," Ryukyu realized. "This kid is gonna monopolize those invites, Jesus."
Yoha couldn't disagree.
"I knew it!" Nezu said as Yamada and Vlad's shocked faces turned to him. "The scoreboards are checked every day, for a week, before the festival takes place! We'd never miss something like a bug!"
"S-Sir?! So, you lied to me?!" Vlad gaped.
"I couldn't have you potentially yelling out the secret. Sorry."
Yamada swallowed nervously as he adjusted his visor. "... Holy crap… AND THIS IS THE UPSET OF THE YEAR! OBITO MIDORIYA HAS KEPT THE WOOL OVER ALL OUR EYES!"
"THE BOY CAN'T BE STOPPED!"
"W-Was the difference that big? Oh, damn," Kaoruko gaped as they looked at Obito's back as he handled Midnight's question.
The aura of the 'top' seemed to spread out in front of them.
He looked back with blazing red eyes.
"I expect a good show."
They all grinned shakily before the energy reached their very cells.
"We're bringing you down!" They said in unison as he chuckled from his position of power.
Midnight felt the fire and lightning sparks from there and chuckled.
'This kid's a masterpiece, isn't he?' She thought with some sweat falling down her cheek. 'He's not some school student with good talent, is he? No, he's…'
Basically on the level of a pro. The words couldn't be stopped.
He was the 'top' for the last event.
"... Hehe, I guess this is what you wanted, huh?" Nemuri said as Obito crossed his arms.
"Of course, they want a barely-scalable hill? They'll get one."
"Your new cockiness is working for you," she said. "Hm, well, remember to rest up, kiddies! The top four groups are as shown! It's time for an hour-long lunch!"

"I-Impeccable!" His blue eyes widened to the limit. "That planning, the creativity, the intelligence! This boy will shake up the Top Ten more than likely!" But his grin couldn't leave his face.
This was their next generation!
"Hmph, what do you think of him?" Nighteye asked as he adjusted his glasses, green-yellow eyes glinting in an impressed manner. "He's perfect."
"Yes, he is," the bulky hero said before chuckling as he left the room. "I need to meet him as he is."
"Go, I'll be here, All Might, sir."
"Thank you," the Number 1 Hero in all of Japan said.

Dabi was left with his hands clenched as Ujiko let out excited breaths.
"Imagine such a High-End… Hahahaha! That's it, I'm in love! This boy… we need him!" The doctor said with the biggest grin Dabi had ever seen. "Hm, hm, internships start after the festival. There's no doubt in my mind that this boy will be interning. For now, we need to compose a Nomu who can handle him."
As the man went on about the possibilities of a 'Nomu' on his computer, Dabi was left looking at a powerful fire user with a cocky attitude and too many smarts for his liking.
He let go of the doctor's chair and walked off.
'We'll see if another bastard like him is created in the world,' he thought darkly.

He kept scratching his neck. "I hate him… I hate him!" He cursed the teen-on-screen's name. "He looks like… he looks like!" He didn't know.
But the older teen before him made his body shiver, his skin itch, and his head hurt.
"Shigaraki, stop it! You're going to scratch off the skin!" A voice from his side warned.
"I need to kill him!"
~NRK~
He blinked at the screen, drinking some tea in his apartment.
"Yamada really took up that job, huh?" He asked himself, fair skin creasing as he yawned. "Dammit, why am I watching this? I don't hire interns…" So, why was he so intrigued by this kid?
His rational nature, his smarts, his quirk application, his sleight of hand. Dammit, he was impressed… his clouds…
Black eyes went flat as he grimaced. 'NO… I don't even have an agency, why am I…' Besides, there was no way this kid would take 'his' over Endeavor's, right? "God, this'll be the only time I ever do this, ya fire-breathing brat."
Scraggly long black hair flopped as his finger trembled over his phone screen. A single contact beneath its trembling shape before he pushed it.

Nemuri snickered as she met up with Yamada in the announcer's booth.
"That was amazing!" She squealed with stars in her eyes as her former underclassmen snickered.
"That kid's got guts, smarts, and the skills to back it up, he's causing a frenzy," he said as he showed her his phone.
The top student in the world?! Is that what we're dealing with?!
Obito-kun has been officially counted by the forums to be 'pro hero' status! Is the majority so set on this young man's future?!
Those who can grab Obito Midoriya's attention for an interview will be given a small reward by ABS news!
"... aren't these guys a little too excited?!" Nemuri shrieked as Vlad King chuckled.
"He's causing waves. He's separated himself from the crowd by taking Takami's position as 'strongest', making a 'fact' as we speak, and showing a decent amount of smugness during it all. He's literally using everything to his advantage while encouraging the others," the Class B teacher smirked. "Trust me, these kids are special. I'm glad I got 'em."
"Stingy," Nemuri said as Hizashi chuckled.
"Well, at the end of the day, this one is making the most waves," he said, only for the three to blink at a call on his phone. "Who…?!" Yamada grinned widely. "It's Shouta! Bud, what's up?!"
-Uggghhhh-
"Sounds like you're doing great!" Nemuri snickered. "So, what's going on? I figured you'd be asleep."
-I still watch this thing on occasion- Shouta Aizawa said as the group nodded.
"Well, gracious one, your attention also on our fire-breather masterpiece?"
-... Ugh- Shouta groaned. -Freaking… I'm going to be sending in an invite, how do I do that?-
The three's mouths fell. "H-He's in on getting him to intern?!" Vlad gaped while Nemuri's glasses slid down her face.
No, ifs, ands, or buts, Obito really had been a masterpiece to make this happen!

Obito leaned against the hallway wall as he crossed his arms, looking up to lock eyes with Fuyumi who smiled at him, hands behind her back.
"I'm going to make all of you proud," she said with a giggle. "I… I don't think I deserve to be here, sometimes. Everyone is amazing in their own ways, they've wanted this for most of their lives but I did it abruptly, switching lanes and only lucked out by knowing you and the girls," Fuyumi said as Obito nodded. "But I can't just throw away everything I've done up to this point. I'll be letting down everyone who's placed their trust in me and trained me."
"No matter what happens, nothing will change," Obito said with his eyes locking onto hers. "We're friends, right? That hasn't changed. Life shows you choices, sometimes you're going to be left with crappy ones and go down a rabbit hole… Other times you'll find yourself with the perfect options, choices, and methods to make something happen. You don't control those, not completely, but you should use everything at your disposal to make your goals realized."
"Hmph, I guess I'm not surprised by that response," she said with a smile as they leaned off their walls. "I'm going to fight, push, and make it as far as possible. If that means fighting against you, I'll do it. Even if that's kind of… rough," Fuyumi asked with a blush as he snorted.
"Throw your everything at me, don't hold back. Come at me like you're trying to kill," she grimaced. "This is a lesson I never got to give you but it's one you'll put into practice soon. You have to give me your all, I'll accept it and throw back just as much to answer your convictions. We're friends and that means pushing you to become even better than yourself. To me, at least."
"... A-Alright, I'll try."
"That's all I ask."
Fuyumi blushed a bit at a thought before swallowing. "R-Right but there are some things we can't prepare for."
"Yes, we can-" Obito had begun saying, hands in his pockets, before freezing as Fuyumi moved away with a completely red face. "?!"
"Y-Yup, everything's unpredictable!" She said before running off.
Obito was left there, stunned, as he held his cheek where she'd… she'd kissed him!
What the hell?!
Fuyumi hid behind the bleacher stairs, holding her hands by her chest as she let out breaths of embarrassment that she closed her eyes at.
'I-I really did it!' She thought with more embarrassment, eyes cracking open at the sky above as she breathed out a small bit of mist. '... I-I'll deal with it after everything,' Fuyumi told herself with several slaps to her own cheeks.
"Fuyumi, there you are."
"Dad?"
"Nii-chan!" Izuku grinned as he found his sibling around a corner. "I knew…?!" The small moss head choked as Obito turned to him with a shaky grin.
All Might threw the small child a salute. "Welcome, boy!"
"Ack?!"
~NRK~
That's where we wrap things up.
So, we get the first two events which, all in all, go the only way they could. With Obito dominating.
It's not wrong to say that with a decent quirk, Naruto, Obito, Sasuke, Kakashi, fucking Kisame could own any single event in the UA Sports Festival. They've trained too long, too hard, and too efficiently in their lives to say otherwise.
So, yeah, in that same vein, Obito makes it about himself in a way that pushes himself to the top of people's minds but also the others into fighting him for his imaginary crown.
And the reactions are GOLD. I loved writing people's reactions to his sudden shifts in persona even if the reasoning is clear.
Onto other things… Shouta feeling inspired?! Is that possible?!
The very idea makes multiple heroes shiver in shock! So, I wonder if he'll get through, it'd be weird if he didn't.
One of the most important developments! Fuyumi gives Obito a kiss on the cheek! It's a powerful moment for both of them as she barely understands her feelings while Obito's so far back on the love-understanding totem pole he's an idiot.
So, yeah, he's gonna be dealing with the repercussions of that.
Finally, the No.s 1 and 2 meet their respective students of interest, it'll be fun to see what happened.
