This is my first ever Beastars fanfic, this story will take place in the anime version of Beastars with my own twist on it. The story will not follow the story arc of the anime, but it will contain some stuff from the anime. The story will mostly be centered around my two OC's, but it will have the original characters of the anime in it as well. I will also put the gazelle/leopard hybrid Melon in this story, but he'll be a teenager and will have a brotherhood bond with one of my OCs.
Here is some stuff about my two OC's.
Original Character (OC): Ian - Ian is a hybrid between a black panther and a komodo dragon. He has black fur with a mix of silver and white komodo dragon scales on the back of his neck and back. He also has silver and white scales on his body, arms, legs, hands, feet, and tail. Ian only has three silver scales on the back of his right ear, and has three white scales on his left ear. Ian is medium height with a slim and athletic build. He has round ears and long whiskers. Ian also has emerald colored eyes.
Backstory: Ian's mother was a black panther while his father was a komodo dragon. When Ian was little he saw his parents do strange things around the house. Ian's father left the house for a week at the end of each month and when he returned he had a big silver metal box with him, and it was like that for a few years. Finally when Ian was nine he disobey his parents for the first time and went into the basement and found evidence that proved his parents were behind a mass string of murders with the oldest being when he was four years old. When Ian's parents came home and found him in the basement, they tortured him by beating him with a fire poker. After they were finished beating him they threatened to kill him if he ever told anyone about what he had seen. However, Ian was able to send a secret message about what his parents had done to his best friend Dan, who called the police which led to the Sublime Beastar, Yahya and a squad of police officers barging into his home, which lead to his father's death and his mother's arrest and eventual execution. Ian was placed with a young female black panther, who was a psychologist, who eventually became his adopted mother. Ian is friends with Louis, Dan, and Melon.
Skills/Abilities: Ian is very skilled in stealth and martial arts. Ian is also very flexible and has great agility, and because of him being attacked and beaten by his parents at a young age, Ian has high pain tolerance. Ian also has very high skills with knives.
Original Character(OC): Dan - Dan is a red deer with a slim build and fair face with handsome features, and long, brown, elegant antlers. Dan also has golden brown eyes.
Backstory: Dan's father is a part of the Horns Conglomerate which means Dan is acquainted with Oguma's adopted son, Louis. Dan enjoys spending time with Louis. Dan also has a brotherhood type relationship with Ian, however, because of his friendship with Louis and Ian, Louis and Ian meet each other and form a special bond with each other with both of them being adopted. Also, unlike Louis, Dan is friendly, nice, and respectful. Dan also tries to help both carnivores and herbivores. Dan is friends with Louis, Ian, and Melon.
Skills/Abilities: Nothing is special about Dan, except he's very intelligent and he carries a handgun for his safety or for his friends, Louis and Ian's safety.
Here are some minor OC's that will appear in the story but not much.
Shade - Ian's biological mother, a female black panther
Tosha - Ian's biological father, a komodo dragon with silver and white scales
Rosa - Dan's mother, a female red deer
Devon - Dan's father, a male red deer
Zara - Ian's adoptive mother, a female black panther.

Chapter 1: One Life Ends, Another Begins
A young hybrid was running through the streets of a city. This hybrid was between a black panther and a komodo dragon. The black fur helps him blend into the night, but his silver komodo dragon scales shine brightly in the full moon's light. The hybrid was wearing black jeans, a white tank top, a black jacket, a black scarf, black running shoes, and black fingerless gloves. This young hybrid is named Ian.
Ian ran through the streets trying to get to his destination, wondering why his friend wanted him to come over so badly.
"Why does Dan want me to come over now when it's late?" Thought Ian. "Man, mom going to kill me if she finds out I snuck out at this hour, so this better be important, Dan"
Ian turned left and saw the mansion that Dan lived in. Ian ran over and jumped the gate surrounding the house.
"I guess we can officially say that I committed a crime by trespassing" thought Ian as he snuck up to the east side of the house and by using the trees next to the house, wall of the house, and his climbing skills, Ian climb up to the fourth floor and knocked on the window. The window opens up and the head of a young, but handsome red deer pops out.
"It's about time you got here" said the red deer.
"I ran as fast as I could Dan, what do you want?" Asked Ian.
The red deer now known as Dan grabbed Ian's right arm and pulled him through the window.
When Ian finished climbing through the window, the young hybrid made eye contact with another red deer.
"Louis" said Ian, as he greeted the other red deer.
"Ian" said Louis, as he greeted the black panther/ komodo dragon hybrid.
"What are you doing here?" Asked Ian.
"My father had business with Dan's father, so Oguma and I had dinner with Dan's family" said Louis.
"Okay, but why did you want me to come over so badly? Mom is going to ground me for life if she finds out I snuck out at this hour" said Ian.
"Calm down Ian" said Dan.
"Let's go, and head down the stairs" said Louis.
Before Ian can protest the idea Dan and Louis grabbed Ian and led him down stairs.
"Guys I'm not sure that this is a good idea" said Ian, not liking where this is going.
Ian was led into a room where Ian found Oguma, Devon, Rosa, and surprisingly his adoptive mother Zara.
"Mom, why are you here? What's going on?" Asked Ian.
"I was invited here by Mr. Oguma and Mr. Devon. They said that they have a surprise for you, so they wanted me to come over before Dan called you to come over tonight" said Zara.
"A surprise, what surprise?" Asked Ian.
Louis handed Ian a piece of paper while Dan handed him a box with a ribbon on it.
"As you know, me and Dan are going to start Cherryton Academy next week, and will be gone except for holidays and summer vacation, so me, Dan, and our fathers pulled some strings to get you accepted into the school with us" said Louis.
"We were hoping that you would join us, after all it may help you be around herbivores more often than just us two" said Dan.
Ian looked at the paper which was a acceptance letter from Cherryton Academy's Principal Gon stating that he had been accepted, all he had to do was sign. Ian then opened the box and inside was a brand new Cherryton Academy uniform.
"Also we talked to Melon and his mother, Melon has decided to attend Cherryton Academy with us" said Dan.
Ian's ears perked up at the mention of one of his closest friends. Him and Melon had been best friends since they met at the playground almost 5 years ago. Melon was being picked on by a group of carnivore kids and knowing that the life of being a hybrid is a royal pain in the ass, Ian didn't want the kid to suffer, so Ian turned and ran towards the group of carnivores and attacked them. Seeing a hybrid like himself come to his rescue gave Melon the courage to help his savior, and together the two hybrids fought the carnivore bullies. Ian and Melon introduced themselves to each other and their mothers, and from that point on, Ian and Melon had each other's backs in the challenges that life had thrown at them, and not once did they back down.
Ian thought for a moment before turning towards his friends.
"Well, if you two are going and Melon is going with you guys, I might as well join you" said Ian. "Who knows, it could be fun."
Later that night Ian, Louis, Dan, and Melon, who came over after hearing that Ian had accepted his invite to Cherryton Academy, sat on the roof of Dan's mansion while the parents talked in the family room down below.
"In two weeks a new life will begin for all of us" said Louis.
"It's going to be a whole new experience for us with a new school and new friends" said Dan.
"Hopefully we'll make some new friends along the way" said Ian.
"Agree, but with new friends comes new enemies" said Melon.
Melon had a point, carnivores didn't exactly receive the same respect as herbivores did, but being a hybrid between a carnivore and a herbivore or a hybrid between two different carnivores is basically asking for a beating from the older carnivores or being treated as a freak of nature from the herbivores.
"Well? Whatever happens, we'll face it together head on" said Ian.
Melon, Dan, and Louis smiled at Ian's response.
Louis's phone let off a beep, signaling that he got a text message from someone.
Louis looked at the text and smiled, as he put the phone away.
"I just got a call from Azuki, she's going to Cherryton Academy too" said Louis.
Dan, Ian, and Melon started to whistle and cry out in joy as they teased Louis about his future wife.
"Get ready boys, our new lives are on the rise" said Louis, as he stood up.
Dan, Ian, and Melon stood up and stood next to Louis, and together the four of them looked out into the night sky with the full moon shining bright, giving Ian's komodo dragon scales a silvery-white glow.
Soon after the boys calmed down and came down from the roof, Ian, Melon, and Zara headed home. Ougma and Louis stayed to talk business for a few minutes, but left not long after Ian and Zara had left.
When Ian and Zara arrived home, Melon said goodnight before walking off towards his own home. Zara kissed Ian on the cheek saying goodnight before heading to bed. Ian stood in his bedroom, looking out the window thinking how fast his life was changing. Ian took off his gloves, scarf, shirt, jacket, and shoes, leaving his socks and pants on, Ian climbed into bed and went to sleep. One last thought went through his head as he fell asleep.
"One life ends, another begins!"
The next few days went by pretty fast Ian, Melon, Dan, and Louis worked together to prepare for their journey in Cherryton Academy. Dan, Louis, Ian, and Melon were also selected to be in the drama club, which they all accepted. After multiple days of packing up and moving into the dorms, Ian was standing with Melon, Dan, and Louis at the gates of Cherryton Academy.
"You guys ready?" Asked Louis.
"Yep" said Dan.
"Let's do this" said Melon.
All three looked at Ian, who stayed silent.
"Ian, you okay?" Asked Melon, who was concerned about his friend.
"One life ends, another begins" said Ian, looking at his friends. "It's time to start that new life."
Louis, Dan, and Melon agreed as all four walked towards their new temporary home.
One thought runs through Ian's mind right before he enters the school.
"Alright new life, let's see what you got!"
