His hands closed around my neck. He could have twisted it and ended it right then, I can tell he wants to but Will wants to see me suffer first. He gradually increases pressure and chokes me. I choke and gasp for breath which does not come to me. Blackness is engulfing me and I'm fading away. I hear a distant voice calling out my name. I listen to it, it gets clearer as I die. The voice is of a female. Mom.

"Chloe my dear," she comes through clear, "Don't give up. It's not your time. I love you." Then she fades away again

Before I can find my mom again there is a distant crash and Will's grip is released from my throat. I gasp for breath as I spit out blood. Choking on my own blood. There's shouts and yells near the door and I am momentarily forgotten by the Pack.

My vision is blurred and I can barely move but I hear the commotion. A fight has broken out and the room quickly turns into a bloodbath. I have no idea what has happened nor do I care. I lay feeling like I'm dying.

As I slip away again, something tugs me back. Several familiar scents.

"Chloe?" A voice asks but I cannot see who it is and am too weak to respond, "Chloe, it's me, it's Kyle. I found my way back."

My heart stops and I struggle to hang on. The presence of a ghost is pulling me into the other side. Kyle doesn't notice what he is doing though.

"You're in bad shape Chloe. We have to get you out of here fast. I'll get the others," A voice says.

"CHLOE!" One screams out, although the scream is barely audible above the fighting. The figure rushes over to me and picks me up. I immediately begin screaming. Screaming in agony. Screaming in fear. I screamed so loud that more blood rushes from my mouth and I choke on it. Everything goes black.

Derek POV

I had figured out where Chloe ran off to and I was hurt, but I would do anything to save her.

We busted our way into the basement where the Pack was. I knew we were outnumbered but I knew we had to get Chloe. I wanted Simon and Tori to stay back and stay safe but they refused. No matter how much I threatened them, they didn't back down. Chloe was their friend too and they were willing to risk their lives for her.

I ached for her to be safe. How could she do this to us? Why would she do this? I just wanted her small fragile self back safe in my arms.

Our small army busted into the Pack's basement and the fight broke out immediately. The Pack against supernaturals. I caught her scent the moment I got into the room. Her blood was everywhere. I had to find her right away. Was she dead? Where was she?

I saw everyone fighting and then I got a glimpse of a cage farther into the room and I took off for it. Shoving Pack members out of my way as I ran towards the cage. Not focusing on where I was stepping, I slammed right into an individual and I immediately went to lunge at him and kill him when I froze and realized who it was. The Alpha was standing in front of my in an eerie calm. I knew he somehow knew who I was. He gave me a glare and a smile which made me blink back in confusion. What was this guy up to? He stepped aside and gestured towards the cage. I knew that this must be a trick. But I looked where he was gesturing and I saw the destroyed lifeless body of Chloe.

"You're welcome for taking care of your problem for you, mutt. Now take the body away from here and never return," the Alpha said as if he had harmed Chloe as a favor to me.

I growled at him and said some choice words before rushing over to Chloe. The only things recognizable was her scent. This bloodied figure looked inhuman and nothing like Chloe. I knew what the Pack had done. I knelt down by her side and screamed her name. Chloe never reacted, I begged her not to be dead. I lifted her gently off the ground and she released an inhuman scream. Louder than anything in the room. Several, Pack and Supernaturals, covered their ears in pain. I had been panicking this whole time but seeing her cough up even more blood sent me farther over the edge. I gripped her tight and protected in my arms and just plowed through people. Several Pack wolves lashed out at me as I ran by but most laughed evilly. They saw no sense in harming me when I am so close to losing Chloe.

I'm not sure what happened next because I was so worried about Chloe but somehow I got Chloe and myself out of there and into an abandoned alley. Of course I worried about the others but I was most worried about Chloe right now. I laid her down and searched for any sign of life.

Her head was covered in blood and her face was misshapen, halfway between wolf and human. Her teeth sharpened like a wolfs. Her skin was extremely pale and she had deep gashes all over her body. Her eyes were swollen and black and blue. Her arms were bloodied, pale, cut up but still human. I knew most of the bones in her body were probably broken. I place my hand gently over heart and feel it beating, barely and slowly.

"Chloe?" I whisper quietly, "Can you hear me?"

CHLOE POV

A jolt of pain to my chest wakes me back up and I hear a voice. I can't move, I can't talk, I can't see, I can barely hear. But I know who is with me and I fill with comfort. Derek is here. But then it really hits me. Derek. Is. Here. Now. With me. This is bad. He is the one I am trying to stay away from.

There's distant footsteps heading my way and I feel something against my lips when the footsteps get closer. Someone gave me water. The water flows into my blood caked mouth and does not taste good.

"C'mon Chloe. Please Chloe. Come on," Derek pours more water into my mouth. I make out voices behind him.

"Do you think she will be okay?" It sounds like Simon.

"Look what you have done. You've killed my niece, you monster," Obviously Aunt Lauren.

"Let her rest right now Derek. There's nothing we can do until she wakes," the calming voice of Kit.

"Can I clean her up a little? She looks like a mess," the voice of Tori.

"You will not touch her," Derek growled loudly, I don't hear a response towards Aunt Lauren from Derek.

I feel cold as ice and I can feel the warmth of Derek as he inches towards me protectively.

"He's right Tori. You will get infected if you touch her blood. Derek's the only one who can touch her right now," Kit says.

Derek pours another sip of water into my mouth and I faintly hear Aunt Lauren start after him again. Kit stops her and then they start bickering. Walking a little distance away so we couldn't hear them. Someone sits on the other side of me but far enough so we can't touch.

"Hey Chloe, you in there? Come on out girl and talk to us," Simon says to me.

Panic-stricken Derek had been listening to Simon and accidentally poured some water on a gash on my cheek. His hands had been shaking badly. I let out a shrieking whimper.

"Chloe!" All three of them shout and Simon and Tori take a few steps back to give Derek room to help me.

I spit the nasty blood out of my mouth, my voice raspy and barely audible, "Ow..."

"Chloe! Oh my god! You're alive!" Derek is so relieved

"For now," I say, my voice quieter than a whisper.

"Don't talk like that Chloe. You are going to be okay," Derek promises.

"Derek if you-" Tori starts.

"Shut it Tori," Derek growls.

"Hold on a second bro," Simon interjects, "Let her talk."

Derek sighs and Tori continues, "If you clean off her face, even just her forehead. I can heal her eyes. So she can see."

There's a long silence, Derek hesitating, he sighs, "Fine. Okay. But you will not do anything besides that."

Derek pulls off his t-shirt and pours some of the water on. He uses it as a towel and cleans the blood off my face. I whimper and flinch as he does and Derek continuously apologizes as he does it. He doesn't want to cause me any more pain than what I have been through. Which he can't even imagine what put me in this state.

Derek spends a few minutes cleaning me up and then it's up to Tori to heal my face. She places the fingertips of one hand lightly on my forehead and a warm glow flows through my face. The pain is filled in my eyes and I feel the swelling disappearing. A deep breathe makes me feel like I've pierced a lung and I scream in pain. My eyes open as I scream and I see Simon snatch Tori back from me and Derek's hand is quick placed over my mouth. I see that they are all covered in blood from their fight but this is the first good look at Derek that I have had in a long time. I just look at him and I notice his eyes and cheeks are wet. Derek had been crying. When was the last time I had seen Derek cry? Never I think. His face only a foot from mine, I see the panic and fear in his glowing green eyes and I see everything I have put him through. I know he doesn't know why I left. I know he doesn't know that he's in danger this close to me. I know that he has the Change coming soon.

"Chloe what's wrong? Why'd you scream? What did Tori do?" Derek asks me.

I feel the pain of the fresh wounds, "It wasn't Tori. I-I'm okay." I look away,

Derek sighed, "Drink more water please." He gives me a few more sips and places the shirt under my head for a pillow.

"Chloe," Simon says after the moments of silence, "Why did you leave us?"

I looked at Simon and then looked away. He shifted over into my line of sight determined not to let this slide. I looked away again and he moved again. I glared at him and then shut my eyes. If I couldn't look away from Simon then I wouldn't look at all. He sighed and went back to his spot next to Tori. Derek growled at me.

"Chloe," Derek growled, "Answer us now."

I shook my head and let out a gasp of pain from the movement, "You won't understand."

Derek growled again, "Stop being an idiot."

I opened my eyes a little and looked at Derek. I looked at him without showing expression. I was not going to put up with Derek's temper. I then closed my eyes again and listened to the silence. Derek had realized that he crossed a sensitive line and was silent. I didn't look to see his expression but there was a lot of tension in the air. They wanted me to talk and I wasn't going to. I could resist telling them for now but I didn't know if I would be able to resist Aunt Lauren and Kit the same. They were adults and they would figure it out.

I had felt very drowsy from the blood loss but it was now hitting me full force and I started to drift off to sleep. I eyelids felt heavy and my body was still on fire with pain. As I went unconscious I heard a voice near me. Someone had spoken but everything went fuzzy and black.

When I woke up sometime later, I had been moved. I woke up in a soft comfortable bed. I felt folded blankets positioned around me to hold me still in my sleep. I groaned and went to sit up. As I did pain seared throughout my upper body. Fresh tears sprang from my eyes and I laid back down. The pain was excruciating and unbearable. I needed someone to heal me or finish me off. I was not going to lay here in agony waiting. When I thought about that, my mind wandered to Derek. What did he think of me now? Did he want me? Was he scared of me? Where was he right now? Where am I right now?

At that thought I opened my eyes a slit. My vision was blurry from the tears and I unable to wipe them away. I looked around where I was and I seemed to be a typical bedroom. I knew what that meant. Kit had brought us to a new safe house. Which meant none of us were safe. I opened my eyes all the way and lay in the bed quietly. My throat felt dry and my stomach growled loudly. I had not ate a real meal in days and my appetite was going crazy. I gave a deep sigh which sent pain through my ribs.

Trying my best to ignore the pain coursing through my body, I thought instead about how I was to get out of this situation. Everyone was of course more on guard about not letting me leave and I did not have Kyle to help me anymore. I knew I had to call Kyle back.

I imagined Kyle and mentally tugged on him, calling him to me. There was no immediate response from Kyle. I knew he must be out there searching for me or he had moved on finally. I called to me the next person that I could think of that could possibly help me. I called upon Liam. I mentally tugged on him and there was no response, I was beginning to believe that this safe house blocked ghosts but then I saw a blurry figure appear in my room. I tugged harder and Liam appeared in the room, confused looking.

"Hello Liam," I say in my raspy voice.

He turned around and saw me and became angry, "You again! I thought we were done associating."

"Well I need you one last time," I said.

He sighs, "Not my problem."

"It will be your problem if I decide to send you back to your rotting corpse," I threaten.

"Fine," he growls, "What the hell do you want?"

"I need one or two things from you. I either need you to teach me to control or I need you to help me get out of here and escape my friends."

"Psh," he snorted, "Controlling werewolf instinct is easy."

"I'm desperate for death or help."

"Well now I'm interested," He laughed, "I guess, being dead, I have nothing better to do so I'll try to help. No promises though."

There was a knock at the door and the door opened.
