"I don't recall saying there was anything wrong with wanting to know," I snap at him.

Simon places his hand on mine, "Calm down Chloe."

I flinch at him touching my hand but try not to make it noticeable. I guess I succeeded because Simon didn't seem to notice my flinch. Derek moved closer when Simon touched me. It was his protective side that he could not help. Simon did not notice, his focus was on me.

"Are you alright now Chloe?" Simon asked after the moment of silence. I nodded.

"I'm fine Simon," I reply.

He gives me a small smile that he believes that I have calmed down.

"Chloe?" Derek's voice comes into focus.

"What?" I hadn't realized that I stopped paying attention.

"Did you zone out or something? Did you hear anything I just said?"

"Sorry."

"Its fine, I said that I talked to Dad and they will be moving the man tomorrow. So you don't have to worry about him."

"Oh ok, good." I felt relieved, "I still want to know who that guy is though."

"I know but Dad doesn't want anyone knowing," Derek shrugs.

"I know but that worries me even more that he won't tell."

"Come on Chloe, it is fine." Simon chimes in. I give him a smile that shows that I believe him, although inside, I don't think that I believe him. I feel like I know this man and I don't know why I think that I know.

We hear a voice calling from downstairs and Derek says that it is their Dad calling for him and Simon. Derek gives me a quick hug and tries not to hurt me as he does so. He got up off the bed to leave, as he did so, Simon waved to me and followed him out. It was not a Simon type of exit in my opinion, which showed me that he was being honest when he said he had not forgiven me yet. I could tell he didn't want to leave the room because he thought I would be leaving again. There was no trust in his expression as they left. Derek shut the door behind them and I swear I heard the lock click.

I tell myself that I just need to brush off all of this. I readjust myself in my pillows and close my eyes. I didn't think that I was that tired but I fell asleep rather quickly.

Blackness surrounds me as I drift into a dream. It's a peaceful dream to my surprise. At first. I'm in the form of a wolf. My fur blonde like my hair. I'm running through the woods as fast as I can but I'm not running from someone, I am chasing something. I focus on the scent of something ahead of me and pick up the pace. I am determined to catch up to whatever I am after. I know it is a dream but I feel free in my own body. Laughter escapes from something up ahead and whatever I'm chasing playfully taunts me.

"Come and get me Chloe. I know you can run faster than that," a male voice echoes and I speed up.

I run straight into an open clearing and skid to a halt. Where did he go? I let out a growl and spin around as I hear something in the brush around me. I can't pinpoint where it is though. The voice laughs again.

"Come on Chloe. We were just having a little fun, don't take it so serious."

Then a black wolf steps out from the brush and looks at me. My heart stops and I jolt awake. I sit there breathing heavily and look around my room. No one is in here besides Liam and myself. No one saw my panic.

"Whats wrong Chloe?" Liam asks, there is no concern in his voice though, only boredom.

"Um…Nothing…I'm fine…" I reply.

"You ask me to help you but then you won't tell me when the wolf is in your dreams. Tsk Tsk Chloe. We are having some trust issues again."

"Ok fine. I think it started out with Derek and I playing in the woods but then…I'm not sure what was going to happen…"

"You're focusing too much on the mutt. Forget about him."

"Forget about Derek? I don't think I can do that. I'll do anything to keep him safe but I will never forget about him."

"You're foolish."

"And you're just going to have to deal with it Liam."

"I don't know why I'm helping you."

"Because you don't really have a choice."

"You might want to shut your mouth. Your friend is coming." Liam warns me and a minute later the door handle jiggles.

Yeah, Derek did lock the door. The person takes a moment to unlock it and then Tori enters.

"Tori?"

"Hey girl. I'm not supposed to be in here but I thought you might want some girl company."

"Sure why not," I don't really feel like arguing with Tori at the moment.

She sits down at the foot of the bed, facing me. "How are you feeling? Kit said I wasn't allowed to do any more healing on you."

"That's okay, Kit's doing his job of keeping you guys safe."

Tori rolled her eyes, "He is being a control freak. Locking you in here and that guy in the basement and the rest of us are under constant surveillance. I can't go anywhere in this house without being questioned."

"I'm sorry Tori. It's my fault."

"Of course it is! You just couldn't tell us your little secret and let us all fix it. No, you had to be your own little annoying hero again and save the day. Only this time you nearly got yourself killed."

On purpose. I think to myself I wanted this curse gone. Even if it meant my own life too. I was doing it to protect you guys. You just wouldn't understand unless you were in my body. Experiencing what I am experiencing.

"That's enough Tori. Now get out of here. I told you that Chloe needs her rest," Kit was standing at the door. Man, people just don't knock around here anymore.

Tori glares at him, a few sparks fly from her hands and then she storms out of the room cursing under her breath. Kit shuts the door behind her and walks over to me.

"Alright Chloe. You're still in bad shape but you are human again so we are going to speed things along and heal you up."

"You said it had to be gradually healed though."

"I know I did and that's how it should be but there is a great amount of danger here now that we have been discovered. If that man knew we were here, others must know as well. And we cannot move you in this condition so we have to take the risk and heal you all the way now."

I nod but glance over at Liam. He has his typical expression on.

"Alright let's do it then."

Kit walks up beside me and his hands hover over my body. He whispers spells of some sort quietly as his hands hover up and down me. I feel the warm glow in the broken bones as they start to mend and heal. The last of the werewolf in my appearance molds back into human. I watch as the bruises disappear from my skin and gashes and cuts are mended. The warmth spreads throughout me and pain lessens until it's gone. I close my eyes and let Kit heal me. It's amazing to not hurt every time I move.

After some time, Kit finishes healing me. It took a lot of energy out of him and he seems exhausted now. He sits down and takes a breath. Liam stands at the foot of the bed, extremely bored.

"How do you feel Chloe?" Kit asks me

"I feel very much better. It's amazing," I say honestly

Kit smiles, "Well I'm glad that I could help. I hope this works out for you. It was a dangerous move to heal you that much at once."

"Can I ask you something?"

"Of course Chloe. What is it?"

"Where is Aunt Lauren? Derek and Simon refuse to tell me."

Kit places a hand on mine, "I'm sorry Chloe. She couldn't come with us, it was too dangerous. I like your aunt very much, I didn't want to have to abandon her like that."

Pain strikes my heart, "But… but why? What happened…?"

"Chloe, after you blacked out in the alley, your aunt went crazy. First she tried to attack Derek, she blamed it all on him and threatened to kill him. She tried to kill him Chloe. I don't know what snapped in Lauren but she went after you as well. We had to try to stop her from killing you as well. Lauren kept screaming that you weren't Chloe, you were just Chloe's body. She screamed that you were gone, dead. I'm sorry Chloe but we couldn't risk keeping her around after that."

I didn't know if I could believe it or not, "Where is she?" I manage to ask.

"I don't know where she is now. We had to put her on a train ride to California and knocked her unconscious. She could be anywhere in the country now depending on when she woke up."

I start hyperventilating, this could not be true. Aunt Lauren would never try to hurt me. This was not true.

"I'm sorry Chloe. Maybe we can find her some day after we have you under control."

"Ok…" I sigh, tears roll from my eyes.

Kit tries to distract me from being upset, "Hey, would you like to see the house?"

I wipe away the tears and nod, "Yeah."

Kit helps me out of bed and we walk out into the hallway, it's a long hallway, doors all the way down. I am the last room down the hall. So they can corner me if I tried to leave. There is only one route of escape. I realize. I follow behind Kit down the hallway, wobbling a little as I walk because it has been a while since I walked this far. Kit talks as we walk, I can tell his is exhausted though.

"This is the second floor of the house, all bedrooms. Each of us have our own on this floor, I'm right across the hall from you in case you have another emergency. It will be just like at the hotel, I'm here to help you."

"What about the owner of the house? Doesn't every safe house have someone in charge of it?"

"Yes but this is an abandoned safe house. Supernaturals still own it but we stopped using it several years ago because it was discovered by an enemy. No need to worry though, no one will come looking here because they know it is abandoned."

It takes me several minutes on my wobbly legs but we make it down the stairs slowly. Kit doesn't seem to mind my slowness with him being tired. I notice Liam following us when I am going down the stairs. I mouth the words to him, 'Get away from here, you'll get noticed.'

Liam laughs, "I would already be noticed if I was going to be. There are no other necromancers around here."

I roll my eyes at him and follow Kit.

"This staircase leads into here, the living room. That door leads to the kitchen and that door leads to the hallway. I don't want you going into that hallway. It's off limits for all of you."

"Why is it off limits?"

"The door to the basement is in that hallway. You are all forbidden to be over there until the man is moved."

As soon as I hear this I instinctively take a step back from the hallway and let out a small growl. Kit looks at me and laughs.

"I was expecting you to react like that. That's exactly how Derek would whenever there was someone he didn't like."

"Like when the mailman came," I joke, we both laugh.

I hear a grunt from the kitchen door and I look over, it's Derek, leaning against the door frame.

"Very funny Chloe."

"It was just a joke," I reply, looking down at my feet.

"What are you doing out of your room?"

"I went ahead and healed her," Kit interrupted.

"But Dad, you know how dangerous that is."

"Yes Derek, I do, but it had to be done. We need to leave soon."

Derek looked unsure of what to say. He gave Kit a look asking why was I let out of my bedroom. Kit ignored it, as far as I could tell.

"Derek take Chloe to the kitchen for a snack. Dinner will be soon," Kit replied then walked down the hallway with the basement.

Derek looked at me and took a step towards me, I thought he was mad so I took a step back. Derek came up quickly and then wrapped his arms around me.

"How do you feel?" He asks, looking into my eyes. I see a glint of the change as I look back. He is under more stress than I know.

"I feel much better now. Kit did a great job. I know it took a lot of energy out of him though."

"Dad will be fine Chloe. I'm more worried about you."

"Derek, I'm fine now and I won't leave you guys again," I lie, "Besides, it's you I'm worried about. You don't think I can see the change coming? You've got to get somewhere safe."

"I'm fine Chloe. This isn't the first change remember."

"Yeah, first one is the worst," I comment, Derek flinches at this, "It's still dangerous here. We don't know what's outside."

"You don't Chloe, I do. And you won't get to know what's there."

"You mean you don't want my help?"

"Of course I do Chloe, but it's become too risky. I'm sorry."

I sigh, "I understand." I brush past him and enter the kitchen.

Derek sighs ad follows me in. Simon and Tori look at us as we enter.

"Chloe?" Simon looked confused.

"Dad healed her up, he wants her to have a snack," Derek replies.

I look back over my shoulder as they talked for Liam. Relieved to see him in here. I may hate him but he's my only ally until I can find Kyle again. Liam walks past me and places his ghostly self in a chair.

"Chloe?" Simon gets my attention, "What are you looking at?"

"Nothing, I uh thought I heard something."

"Oh ghost girl gets all the attention when she gets spooked." Tori says.

"I'm not spooked," I snap.

"Whoa there, careful wolfie," she teases more.

My fists clench and Derek puts a hand on my shoulder to stop me from doing anything stupid. Simon tosses me a bag of crackers and I seat myself at the table besides Liam. Derek takes the seat and passes through the ghost.

""Hey! I was here first mutt!" Liam shrieks and jumps up. I cant help but laugh a little.

"What's so funny?" Derek asks.

"Nothing. I just thought of something funny."

Derek doesn't look like he believes me but he does not argue. He rolls his eyes and we have a few crackers.
