Summery/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of A Frostbitten Arrow. Enjoy the 3500-word chapter. I don't own RWBY or Destiny, Monty Oum, Rooster Teeth, and Bungie do.

Weiss looked at the door as her older sibling entered, she was flanked by a pair of Atlesian soldiers. The others, however?

"Winter, I see you've returned from Vacuo…" James stated while starting to look at the two new arrivals along with the Vacuo merchants.

A hunter, the elite assassins of the sandblasted plains of Vacuo and Mistral. One had a distinct purple and black cloak along with very distinct beige, blue, and white jumpsuit. The other? A warlock, a being that warped the very nature of their environment, something that was part of Atlas, James believed. Unlike the hunter? He wore a simple red robe and had dark beige gear. The hunter had their distinctive 'hand cannon' in a holster on their leg along with his knives. One looked WAY more laid back at the moment then it allowed.

"Father." Winter responded with a curt nod which was returned. She looked at the duo at the time while she crossed over to the couch where Weiss sat. "This is Argus of the Warlocks and Remus who is new to the hunters and part of the Night Stalkers." Winter added before she started to sit down next to her sister while looking around at the hunters.

"The assassin groups?" Weiss questioned, gaining a myriad of looks at her, causing her to look at the oak table. "I've heard a few things about the hunters. Their one of the things keeping Vacuo out of invaders hands." Weiss added as Remus hummed.

"And what are they doing within castle grounds?" James questioned to which both hunters looked at each other. "Winter, I thought you said you were handling an assignment in Vacuo, when did it turn into bringing back warrior nomads?" James asked, setting his hands under his chin.

Winter was silent a moment before Argus spoke up. Remus was silent, his face hidden behind the breathing mask all hunters wore. He leaned on the wall, resting a foot on it and crossing his arms.

"She asked for a group of merchants to come back." Argus added to which the merchants nodded. "And they asked for an escort. We meant no disrespect; I'm simply helping Remus to study to become a better hunter." Argus stated as Remus turned to him.

"Hunters don't walk around like proper gentlemen, old man." Remus interjected, removing himself from the wall a moment later. "Second? Yeah, shadow stalkers. The ones who left a kell dead after he escaped Mistral police. I'm surprised you know enough about them despite how secret the club is." Remus added, moving towards the couch.

James looked at the hunter who simply stood behind it. He didn't make a move for either of his weapons, but the ruler of Solitas was still wearily for the rest of the day.

"I'm well read the rest of the planet since the hunters graduated from being former nomads and such." Weiss responded, locking eyes with the hunter who simply nodded. "Father? Your aware that hunters are still allied with the coalition, yes? They wouldn't harm us, we're not Grimm or one of the myriads of hostile forces." Weiss added, pausing to look to the side with clear interest.

She had a thousand questions for the hunters, she knew that her parents were going to be curious. Both were protective, but it annoyed her at the moment while they did so. Both knew things she didn't, but she bit her tongue.

"Remus?" Argus questioned while he turned to the hunter Nightstalker. "Remember we're here on business. You could at least act like your serious about this arrangement." Argus added to which Remus hummed and nodded.

"I cannot believe what's going on currently…" James stated as he sighed and tented his fingers over his chest. "And what exactly is this business where it comes down to it? I would assume it is both parts business and military at the same time?" James questioned, raising an eyebrow as he did so.

He got nods in response. He turned to his wife, looking up at the ring of guards around the room that protected him and his family. James turned back to his wife a moment later.

"Perhaps we should talk about this business arrangement in the parlor?" James heard from his wife as she brushed off her dress. "Winter, can you bring Weiss back to her room? Me and your father would like to talk about this without bothering anyone else." She added with a hum as she and James stood up and began to walk towards said parlor, a squadron of guards following behind them.

Winter and Weiss watched the group vanish through the door, leaving Weiss, Winter, Argus and Remus, and the group of Atlesian soldiers who watched over the two children.

"Does she know about what you asked Klein every single night?" Winter questioned to which Weiss hummed, looking at her feet, shy at the answer. "Your very sneaky, little sister, but you're not fooling me at all." Winter added as Weiss looked at both Remus and Argus.

"I do not know what you are talking about, sister." Weiss put in as she brushed off her shirt. "But I have spoken to Klein, he's been our family retainer for 10 years. I believe I am entitled to a moment of his time at this moment and if I require his services? Then that is what I require from him. That proves nothing other than the fact I find myself requesting his services at the moment." Weiss added, pausing to crack her fingers and tilt her head quizzically to which her sister could only roll her eyes.

She knew what Weiss did and when she did it. Weiss was sneaky, crafty as well… But there was no fooling her that easily. She knew plenty of things from outside Atlas and Solitas, being both imperial princess and a military commander taught her that in spades.

"I'm sure there's more to your story then that, little sister." Winter stated, crossing her arms as she turned to look over the rest of the city. "Plus, I know you've been looking at the hunters. You want me to point out that I'm aware how your knowledgeable about the rest of Remnant? Father only told you at the rest of the areas outside here little by little. Only Klein would know about the hunters." Winter added, pausing to cast a gaze at both Remus and Argus.

"Funny, thought we had a better rep." Remus joked before gaining a look from Argus. "Arg? There's no way you'd ever be a hunter, your about as wound up as your boss." Remus added, brushing off his cloak a moment later.

"And yet you don't want to take anything seriously." Argus added, pointing a finger at Remus who shrugged, unsure what to say. "I get your 17 and night stalkers are wild cards, but you NEVER act serious. You constantly act like every single fight is just another game your always win. Maybe I'm not a hunter at all, but I'm curious how they operate being so lenient and without a code of rules." Argus said, making Remus roll his eyes.

"There's no rules in the wild, old man." Remus responded, looking at Weiss. "I apologize if his overwhelming perfectionism bugs you. He's just cranky he's not perfect like most warlocks' love yelling about…. Despite you being on OUR turf, home of the hunters and nomads of Vacuo." Remus put in, causing Argus to shake his head and walk to go and greet both the merchants and such.

"You and my sister have a lot in common then you believe, Remus." Winter said, causing the hunter to turn his attention to her at the moment. "She believes in dreams of grandeur and such as me… Forgetting father was the one who approved of me being in the imperial Solitas army, not mother." Winter said, smirking as she did so before she thought of her next move.

There was too much on her mind to think through when it came down to it. She knew her sibling was well aware of what she wanted and what she would have done if she was allowed to do it. There was going to be a lecture, Weiss had been through many. It didn't dissuade her like people seemed to think it would. She knew enough to serve on the frontlines of combat if need be.

"Didn't you say something about me staying here as part of the deal?" Winter heard from Remus who crossed his arms, more than amused by these antics. "Something about it being a 'cultural crossing', or some such thing?" Remus added, holding up his hand to which Weiss blinked.

Weiss watched a small ball like object emerge from the palm of his hand. A 'Ghost' as she believed they were called, the computer partner of the guardians and their best friends. The ghost was painted a deep red with desert brown lines across it's seems. They were far beyond anything the kingdom of Solitas yet had, Weiss had only heard stories of these creatures and how each one was nothing like the one who came before it.

"There is a message from the elder for you, Mason." The ghost added to which he nodded.

"I thought you said your name was Remus." Winter said before the ghost spoke up a moment later.

"Mason's name is Mason, his last name is Remus… Warlocks like to be formal, hunters do not, Lady Schnee." The ghost stated to which Mason hummed. "And yes, Princess Schnee did extend an invitation for you to stay in Solitas. They want you to still talk to the council." The ghost added as Mason hummed and shook his head.

"Thanks, Nomad. I'll do that tonight." Mason stated, turning the small machine towards Weiss. "Say hi to the crown princess of Solitas and heir to the leadership of the SDC." Mason put in, looking at Weiss.

"You are Princess Weiss, Nikole Schnee? Imperial crown princess of the grand throne of Solitas?" Nomad questioned to which Weiss nodded before the ghost flew over to her. "Curious, your sibling spoke very highly of your abilities which seemed to be on par with Mason's talents, his potential could be legendary if he didn't constantly act like the Fallen are target practice." Nomad added as Mason rolled his eyes.

"I'd like to remind you I'm the youngest Nightstalker in the entire group." Mason responded, pausing to brush off his cloak. "Plus? You're forgetting the biggest threat to Vacuo and the Oasis is the army of big musclebound Cabal and the Grimm. Not an army of scavengers like I've been killing countlessly. Cayde said I'm doing pretty good so far at the moment." Mason added, making Nomad roll his eye.

"Yes, Cayde would tell you that since you're his favorite student at the end of the day." Nomad stated, looking around with more amusement at the moment. "Princess Schnees? I would like to inform you both that there's plenty of merchants arriving from Mason's home port of the Vacuo desert. They are to remain under the hunter's care until further notice, however. Solitas is nothing like what we are familiar with, so I apologize for these precautions making the deal much harder to try and secure." Nomad put in as Mason hummed once again.

"He means, more people are coming, Mason is going to be helping them…" Mason said, leaning on the sofa. "And there's also a point of the council wanting to make a deal with the royal family. Vacuo is little more than a vassal to the rest of the world." Mason said before starting to gesture with his hands as he did so.

"There's no real leadership unless you count the council pulling our strings." Mason added, pointing at himself. "The hunters are pretty much the only thing standing between total destruction of all life there and on a few other planets… We don't get the best job, but it helps keep plenty of people safe, so we do it the best way we can possibly try." Mason finished, pausing to crack his fingers as Nomad appeared again.

"Perhaps we should return to the ship so the sisters may speak as family does?" Nomad questioned to which Mason could only shrug.

"Sure, we still got to report back to the council like you seem to enjoy doing SO much." Mason put in, placing a hand to his temples as he did so. "Anyway? You need us? We're be near the landing pads; Nomad is busy trying to configure my light to handle cold tempestuous or something at the time… Later." Mason said as Winter turned and hummed.

She knew both her sister and Mason would be talking tonight, just like she expected.
