A/N: It's been 84 years... LOL but I am so happy and very pleased with this next chapter to my very first and most popular and controversial fic that because of it and all of my followers support, I am the writer am I today among the fandom. :) I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. As you can already guess, the next chapter following this story will be the end of this long awaited for journey. I can't wait to hear what you all think.
Hours later, an officer came into Daniel's office, knocking on the door as he soon stepped in, "Sir. Are you not heading home soon?"
Daniel nodded, standing up from his seat as his eyes scanned the time. It was past 10. "Yes," he placed his jacket on, "Before I leave, I wanted to ask you to keep a close eye on Emma Swan for me."
The officer nodded, "She's been lying in her cell without any trouble so far."
Daniel chuckled, "Make your rounds to her cell. Feel free to wake her once in a while. You won't hear any complaints from me." he reached over for his keys that were still on his desk, making his way out the door, "Have a good night."
"Good night, sir. Be careful going home." the officer closed the door behind them as Daniel went on his way. Only, there was no way he was planning on going home tonight. The drive was long ahead of him, but this might be his only chance to see a certain brunette without the interruption of Emma being around.
As Daniel made his way around the hallway to his office, he stopped in his tracks as Lily was now standing in front of him, "Lily?" he looked over his shoulder to make sure they weren't seen, "What the hell are you doing here?"
"You didn't think I would come to see Emma after your text message?" she asked.
Daniel chuckled, "What on earth do you see in her?"
"What do you see in Regina? Can I see her or not? I'm not leaving until I do."
Daniel's eyes looked over at Lily, "Just for a moment. I'll inform the guards to let you in."
Lily scoffed after taking a quick sniff of his clothes, which reeked of alcohol, "Drinking on the job? Really?"
"Did you come here to see Emma or to lecture me?" He asked rather annoyed, heading back into the cells area with Lily in tow.
"Are you sure you don't want to come along, dear?" asked Cora, walking towards the front door with her husband, both dressed up elegantly for the night.
"I'm sure, mother. I'm just going to shower and head to bed." Regina held the door open for both her parents.
"Well, Jefferson should be back soon. We'll only be gone a couple of hours."
"Be sure to lock up, sweetheart." Said Henry.
"I will. Have fun." Regina smiled. She couldn't remember the last time she had seen both her parents this happy.
Lily shook her head at the sight of Emma, lying on a hard bench within her cell that was part of the wall. Her forearm draped over her closed eyes.
"You poor thing." Emma's head snapped up, as well as her body to the sound of Lily's voice, "You see what staying married to Regina has gotten you? Even James would be disappointed."
"What are you doing here, Lily?" Asked Emma, standing closer to the bars.
"What do you think?" Asked the brunette, "I came to see you," she stepped closer to the outside of the cell bars, her eyes dead on the blonde's, just as her hand cupped Emma's who's hand was wrapped around the cold steel bars, "Unlike Regina, here I am. Faithful as always to you and only you."
"Lily-"
"Do you want to know what your darling Regina is doing right now, while you are locked up in here for a whole night?" She continued, even through Emma's hard glare, "She's having sex with Daniel as we speak, while you are here, left alone in this cold cell."
Emma removed her hand from Lily's grasp, her eyes dark green with anger, but no longer from jealousy, but frustration, "What the hell has happened to you? You were never like this, the Lily I knew would never make up such stories just to get a rise out of me."
Lily chuckled then, "Who says they are stories, Emma? I saw Daniel before coming in to see you, he's the one who let me through." She paused, stepping a bit closer towards the bars, almost wanting to become one with them, "While Daniel and Regina have their own little fun, maybe you and I should take this opportunity to rekindle what was started."
The blonde's head shook, "You're delusional if you think anything will ever happen between us. I am married and I have a kid-"
Lily slammed her palms against the bars, her fingers tightening around their coldness, "Who says that kid isn't Daniel's?" She sighed, reaching out to touch Emma's arm, "Can't you see that you are just being played by a woman who is more than willing to still whore herself to-"
"Don't you dare speak of Regina that way!" Steel bars shook, Emma's lip twitching up in anger at the sight of Lily's tiny smirk. "I am warning you, Lily."
"You want to keep being blind to the truth, be my guest, but as I told you before, Emma…" Her fingers caressing the leather of her jacket, "When the day comes and you finally realize what is right in front of you all along- that Regina doesn't and never truly loved you. I will always be there to pick up the pieces."
Emma walked closer to the bars, her eyes locking on Lily's green ones, "Get the hell out of here. Don't let me see you again or next time I won't be so generous as to ask you to leave."
"Poor Emma. You just need time to see the truth." The brunette's voice was a mere whisper, "Which you will. Soon enough."
The blonde's jaw clenched in anger, "Don't you even think of going anywhere near my family."
"Me?" Lily chuckled, "Oh, Emma. I'm not the one you need to worry about. I'm not the one who is headed to your wife's parent's house at this moment."
Emma's eyes grew wide, "Daniel. You helped him, didn't you?" Her anger grew as Lily simply began to walk away, "Lily. Lily, get back here!" Her palms banged on the bars, "Lily! Lily!"
"She turned down a conjugal visit?"
Lily's entire body turned to the sound of Gold's voice, her line of vision falling on his hypocritical smirk.
"Robert? Where the hell have you been?" Her brows furrowed, watching the man as he walked in circles around her.
"Planning." He smirked, "And waiting for the right moment." He moved around her once again, "For a moment that would surely work and benefit us all."
Lily chuckled, "Sure. Like your last plan, where you neglected to mention that Emma's life would be attempted on."
"That was a mistake. I rushed into things, when I should have planned better. And," He smirked, "Had I known you would be desperate enough as to seeking help from that idiot, Daniel, I would have come to you sooner."
"What are you on about now, Robert?" She rolled her eyes, wanting to get out of there fast. Her eyes looked down at a small glass bottle that was placed before her. Robert's fingers holding it perfectly in place, inches away from her face.
"Solutions, my dearest Lily. Permanent solutions." He smirked.
Regina came out of the bathroom, her purple silk robe wrapped around her body, her wet black hair draping over her shoulders. Even as she moved around the bedroom, her hand reaching for her bottle of lotion, smoothly rubbing it on one leg then the other- her mind was on Emma. Hating the fact that her wife had to spend the night in a cold prison cell, all because of-
"Daniel?" Her head turned towards the bedroom door, her brows creased as it was being pushed open by him. "What the hell are you doing in here? How did you even get in here?" She asked, standing up right.
He chuckled, "You forgot the many times I used to sneak in here to surprise you? How many times I didn't jump out that window." His eyes took in the sight of the brunette's old bedroom, "Of course, that's all changed now, right? Now you have Emma." He spat the blonde's name, scoffing and shaking his head, while his droopy eyes began to drink in the sight of Regina's body. Almost as if he had x-ray vision and could see right through her robe.
"Daniel." Said Regina, holding out her hand as he slowly began walking towards her, "You're drunk. Why don't you just leave before you do something stupid?"
His brows creased, "Are you really that afraid of me? Do you honestly think that I could ever, or would ever want to hurt you?" He paused, "I simply want to make you see the truth to things, Regina."
"By breaking into my parent's home?" Her brow raised, her hand still held up towards him.
"It's not like you leave me much of a choice." He snapped, "But maybe now with Emma away for the night… with everyone away for the night, I can make you see things differently. How they truly were meant to be. You see, I spent all those years trying to make you see it, while Emma was gone and I lied- that's true. I was hopeful that would make you see the reality of things."
"What reality, Daniel?" She rolled her eyes.
"That you have always belonged with me. Always." His eyes began drinking her in again, "Don't you remember that? We both swore it."
His eyes drinking her in made Regina have an uneasy feeling set into the pit of her stomach. So much that she began to walk back as Daniel moved forward, "Daniel-"
"You swore it, Regina. Long ago, remember?" He spat, his jaw clenching with sudden anger. His arm reaching out for the struggling brunette, wrapping tightly around her waist, pressing her own with his.
"Daniel-!"
"You swore it." He hissed, his face only inches apart from her own, holding on tightly to her body. His nostrils flared, taking in her rich, clean scent. "You were always so beautiful to resist. Well, you don't have to hold back anymore."
The brunette's hands pushed against his chest as best they could, struggling to get away from him as soon as she felt his lips forcefully capture her own.
There was a time, long ago where she didn't mind kissing Daniel. Where she dreamed of one day giving herself to him in her entirety. But not like this.
"Daniel, stop! You aren't thinking clearly!" Said Regina, feeling his hand cup the back of her head with force, holding her against him against her will. "Daniel-!"
"It's alright, Regina. This is what we both wanted, remember?"
Her brows creased with frustration and anger, her hands doing their best to push the man away from her, body wiggling in his arms, "Are you listening to yourself? Do you really think forcing me to be with you while my wife is locked up is going to make everything better? Is that really what you want to do? The type of person you want to be?"
"Nothing makes it better, Regina! Nothing!" He squeezed onto her body against his a lot more now, his eyes piercing hers, "After everything I did for you in trying to find Emma, and you still couldn't see my love for you. You chose to not to see it."
"Well, this certainly isn't going to make it any better." Regina spat, staring him down.
He chuckled, "No. But, as it turns out we've both changed over the years, haven't we? You see, I never realized what type of woman you had become, compared the one I once knew." He quickly moved her up against the bed, until the back of her knees hit the edge of the mattress, tossing her onto it with force. His body quickly hovering over hers, his hands tightening around her wrists, holding her in place.
"Daniel, don't! Please!" Regina begged, her eyes stinging with unshed tears that rolled down her eyes as she closed them shut due to his foul breath, which reeked of alcohol. "Daniel, think of what you're about to do! Emma will-!"
"She'll what?" He challenged her, his lips inches away from her own, "This is how Emma got to have you after all, right? This is how she managed to make you fall in love with her, by forcing you into having sex with her."
"Emma didn't force me into anything-"
"She forced you into a marriage that you wanted no part in, along with your mother!" He hissed, his grip tightening around her wrists.
"It may have started that way, but I gave myself to her willingly!" She finally shouted, her eyes darkened with anger as they locked into his, "This marriage may have been forced in the beginning but with time I began to see what type of person she truly was and that she truly loved me. And every night that we shared a bed, it was all my doing."
His nostrils flared with anger as he determenly held her down, "No! No, you're just saying that to hurt me!" His forehead pressed against her own, "You may have been with her, but it's me you always loved, wasn't it? Say it. Say that it was me and I'll forgive you. We can run away right now and be together, just like we always wanted to do."
Suddenly a grunt escaped him, his body rolled off of Regina's and onto the side of the bed. His hands cupping over his groin after having received a direct hit to it by Regina's own knee. Only, before Regina could make her escape, just as her hand reached and her fingertips barely touched the doorknob, he was already dragging her back into the room, ending in another struggle.
"No! Daniel, get off of me!" Regina pulled at his hair, pushed away at his face while Daniel was on top of her again, this time on the hardwood floor of the bedroom. Her heart was pounding away with each second, feeling as his hand wanted to start grabbing and touching places that were forbidden to him.
As the brunette looked into his darkened eyes, she realized that not only was he drunk but angry to be rejected by her once again.
"You promised, Regina! Together forever-"
"No!" She pushed and pushed away, feeling her wrists being overpowered once again, pinned down to the hardened floor.
"Now, we'll see if Emma will want you after finally being mine." His lips came down, making contact with the skin on the brunette's neck, just as her robe had been undone and not only left her exposed, but the black lace to her bra and panties were as well, along with her own skin.
"Daniel, this isn't you- please, stop!" Regina begged, tears rolling down the sides of her face, feeling completely overpowered.
It was then Regina's eyes shut tighter than they ever had before. Thankful, that if this was going to happen this way tonight, at least she was happy her son wasn't here to be a witness to it.
It was then that Jefferson entered the bedroom, having heard all the screaming from just the entrance. He saw red, like any brother would if they had come home to what he came home too. He didn't think of anything, but to grab Daniel by his clothes, pull him off of the brunette, standing him to his feet and delivering a punch directly to his face that sent the man back onto the floor. And why stop there? Why give him a chance to get back up? Daniel was soon overpowered, just as Regina had been by him a few seconds ago, his waist straddled onto while the same fist that had impacted him before, impacted him again, and again, and again, and again, repeatedly, he felt his world spin.
Regina horrifyingly watched the scene taking place before her for a few short moments until she had the capacity to react, grabbing a hold of her brother before he ended up killing a drenched bloodied Daniel on the floor.
"Jefferson, stop! Stop!" She pleaded her brother, grabbing a hold of his arm, that was still strong enough to deliver two more punches before coming to his senses. His eyes became soft once again at the sight of brown orbs locking hard before him. "Stop, stop. Look at me, I'm alright. I'm safe."
Jefferson's rapid breathing calmed down soon enough, his knuckle stained with Daniel's blood, who was lying on the floor, barely movable or conscious. His soft, steel blue eyes looking down at him as he stood, towering before him.
"I warned you." His finger pointing to Daniel, who was grunting to sit up, "You came near my sister again and I'd kill you."
Regina had seen her brother change in many ways throughout the years. She could still remember when back in the day, he didn't show any regards for her feelings, or anyone's for that matter- except his own. But all that bad rep he once held in her eyes was gone in the blink of an eye in this moment. Not that she didn't believe he had changed for the better before, she did, but it was a reality that hadn't quite set in for her yet. A change her brain somehow found it hard to process, until tonight.
Feeling how his arms protectively wrapped around her, closing her robe back up to save her frightened dignity, was enough to change her image of him forever.
"Consider yourself lucky that Regina decided to spare your miserable life. If it were up to me, you'd be dead." Jefferson's eyes followed Daniel's movements as he stood to his feet, wiping away at his blood that was coming out from every direction it could find on his face.
Daniel's head was pounding, but not by the consumed alcohol. Jefferson's swings were hard enough to sober him up.
"Get out of here, and don't let me see you near her again." Jefferson warned him, his eyes glaring back at him coldly.
While Daniel's own eyes just looked to Regina, taking in the shocked and frightened look on her face. That's when realization had sinked in. What had he become? Regina was right. He was never like this, and he certainly would never take her or any woman by force. Sure, he's made some bad choices throughout the years and tried playing dirty against fate to try and have the woman he always loved come back into his life. But, this wasn't him.
"I'm… I'm sorry." He muttered, wiping away at his bloody, broken nose with the back of his hand before calmly walking out of the room and out of the house for good, leaving the two siblings to finally catch a breath and hold each other in a tight hug.
"Are you alright?" Jefferson asked, breaking away from their hug, his eyes finding Regina's again.
She nodded, looking down at his hand, taking it carefully within her own, "Are you? Look at your hand. We need to get you to a hospital to get it checked out."
He shook his head, taking his hand back, "It'll be alright. It's just swollen."
"Jefferson, please, I would feel better if we got you checked out."
He chuckled, grabbing a hold of the brunette by her shoulders, "If anyone needs to get checked out, it's him. I'll be fine, don't worry. All that matters to me is that I arrived on time. He's lucky Emma wasn't here, or she would be locked up right now on accounts for murder."
"Emma." Regina sighed, plopping down on the bed, her eyes following her brother's movements as he soon joined her, "Jefferson, whatever we do, we can't tell Emma what happened."
"What do you mean we can't tell her what happened?" His brows creased with anger once again, "Regina, he tried to-"
"Tried, but he didn't. Thanks to you." Her hand cupped around the man's bicep, giving it a gentle squeeze, "But you as well as I know that if Emma were to find out about this, she wouldn't think twice about going after him. And with Robert still out there, and God only knows what Lily could be up to- Emma has enough on her plate to worry about. She doesn't need this incident added on."
He nodded, embracing the brunette in another hug shortly after. He knew that she was right. If Emma so much as knew what was about to take place here tonight, she would lose it entirely.
Regina and Jefferson were outside the station first thing, bright and early. The brunette was almost dancing on her feet with happiness that she would soon see Emma. She knew that after last night, Daniel would release her. He had to.
Sure enough, Emma began walking through the station doors, hands stuffed inside her jacket pockets. A pearly white smile flashed before her family.
"Em!" Jefferson shouted, a pearly white smile of his own flashed before her. His arms pulling her into his embrace once they met halfway. "It's so good to see you. I think a shower is in order."
"On that we agree." Emma chuckled.
"Alright, step away from her, please." Said Regina, moving past her brother to embrace her wife next. It wasn't much a surprise anymore when both women's lips came in contact with one another in a long and passionate kiss.
Jefferson's brows rose, his cheeks turned pink. He cleared his throat, not so much as to interrupt their love bubble moment, but just to remind them that he was still there. Only their kiss didn't part for one second.
"Well… I'll just… bring the car around." He excused himself, giving them a bit of privacy.
Arms snaked around each other's bodies, all while lips continued dancing in a well deserved and missed kiss. Eyes remained closed even as they finally parted from their kiss, but not their embrace.
"How's Henry?" Emma quickly asked, having had their son on her mind all night long.
"He's still with Mary Margaret and David. He has no idea what's happened, don't worry."
The blonde nodded, "It's best he doesn't."
"Agreed." She paused, "Jefferson's right, dear. You are in need of a shower." Regina smirked.
"Are you planning on joining me in that shower, Ms. Swan-Mills?" Asked Emma, her smirk matching her wife's.
"You'll have to wait and see." The brunette winked, her smirk growing just as her lips came in contact with her wife's thin pink ones once again, sharing a few peppered kisses before embracing her in a hard given hug. It was then, from afar, her eyes took in another pair of eyes staring back at her.
Even Emma looked behind her once they finally parted from their embrace. Her green eyes glaring at Daniel who had been staring for God knows how long.
"Everything okay?" She had to ask, feeling a source of tension in her wife that she did not like.
Regina, always being able to put on her best smile, did just that as she looked back into her wife's eyes before her, "Everything's great. You are coming home, which is what matters." She placed another kiss to thin lips, just to be on the safe side of her wife calling bullshit.
Emma's arm snaked around Regina's waist just as Jefferson pulled over to the side of the curve, holding the door open for her, entering the vehicle right after.
"Uncle Jeff!" Henry came in running to his grandparents home, hugging Jefferson with all of his strength.
"Hey, Henry!" He smiled, ruffling the boy's hair, "Did you have a fun sleepover?"
"The best!" He beamed.
Mary Margaret smiled, "David and I took him to the zoo."
"Ooh, I bet your mom's will love to hear about that."
"Where are they?" Henry asked, rushing off towards the stairs, "I want to go tell them!"
Jefferson was quick to reach for the boy, pulling him back by his shirt, "Ah, wait, wait, kiddo. Why don't you tell them later, okay? You know, your grandpa Henry is making his famous apple pie. Go and see if he can give you a slice."
Henry gasped, running straight into the kitchen, already smelling his favorite pie.
Jefferson sighed with relief that he managed to listen to him and not burst in on both women. He chuckled as he exchanged knowing looks with Mary Margaret. "Kids. So innocent."
"Any plans on having any of your own once you marry?" She had to ask him.
His brow raised, "Kids?" He chuckled again, placing a hand on his hip. "I've… actually never thought about it."
"Well, you should. I think you would make an excellent father." Mary Margaret beamed, leaving the man wondering about possibly having kids one day.
Regina sat in front of her mirror, brushing away at her wet hair. The sound of Emma brushing her teeth sounding just inside the bathroom.
"You know I was thinking…" A splash was heard, indicating the rinse of a sink just before the blonde came out of the bathroom, drying up her wet, golden locks. "Maybe it would do us some good to go away for a while. Just the three of us."
Regina looked over her shoulder, a brow raised, "If I didn't know you any better, it sounds like you already have a place in mind."
Emma smirked, her eyes drinking in her wife's beauty as she walked up to her, enjoying the feel of the brunette's hands while they dried up her blonde hair for her. "I was just thinking we could take Henry back to the ranch, go riding with him. Have a picnic. All I'll have to do is go on ahead to make sure everything is in order for your arrival."
"You'll be driving there, right?" She had to glare while asking.
The blonde chuckled, "Of course. When have I ever flown there?"
"Just making sure." Regina smiled, placing a quick kiss on thin lips, while setting the wet towel aside. Her fingers finding a new home within golden locks, "I think that's a great idea. Henry would really enjoy going back there. In fact… you should take him with you. He would love that."
"What about you?" Emma asked.
"I'll be fine. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning anyway." Regina brushed her off.
"A doctor's appointment?" Concern grew in the blonde's green eyes.
Regina smiled, "It's just a routine check-up, darling, relax." She placed a kiss to her lips, "I swear it. My mother will be going with me."
The blonde nodded, "Fine. I'll take Henry with me tomorrow. I'll invite your brother, see if he wants to tag along."
"I think he would love that." Replied Regina, her arms draped over the blonde's shoulders.
"Mom, can we go now?" Henry poked his head out of the yellow bug's window, eager to get to their destination.
"Not so fast, bud. You forgot to say goodbye to your mom." Said Jefferson, placing a kiss to the brunette's cheek, "Are you sure everything is alright? You know mom, she doesn't tell me anything now a days."
"Everything is fine." She smiled, "Watch over them, please."
"With my life, dear sis." He ruffled Henry's hair just as the boy ran past him, straight into his mother's arms.
"Bye, mom. I love you."
Regina placed a kiss to the top of her son's head, "I love you too, darling." She nudged him, watching him run back into his mother's car, "Go, have fun. Help out your mom and your uncle."
"I will!"
"Don't I get a kiss goodbye?" Asked Emma, leaning in and capturing her wife's plump lips with her own.
"You get two." Regina smirked, giving her another kiss before sending her on her way. "Call me once you've arrived."
"Of course." She placed one last kiss on the brunette's lips, which made Jefferson roll his eyes.
"Hey, lovebirds!" He shouted through the car window, "While I'm young, huh? Let's go."
Regina glared his way, smiling at Emma, "Alright, go, before he drives off without you."
"I'll see you later in the day. I love you."
"I love you too." Regina waved goodbye to them, watching as they drove off.
The line rang and rang and went unanswered once Emma had called Regina to tell her they had arrived safely to the ranch. After everything they had been through, it set a small uneasy feeling to the pit of her stomach.
Emma sighed, hanging up the call once the brunette's voicemail picked up.
"Relax, Em." Jefferson patted her arm playfully, "Knowing my mom, she has her busy dress shopping for my big day."
That made the blonde smile, "Yeah. You're right."
"Hey, where is everyone? I remember there being a lot of people working here." Asked Jefferson, looking around the empty land.
"They had the day off today. They should be here tomorrow." Replied Emma.
"Damn. So no food, huh?"
She smirked, patting her brother in law's shoulder, "Come on. I'm sure there is something we can make in the kitchen, before we get to work."
"All I'm saying, is there better be pizza." Jefferson followed the blonde into the house, along with Henry in tow.
While there, they did just about every chore there was to do. It felt great for Emma to be working around the land again. She could even say she missed it. Working with her hands, after all, always gave her a sense of tranquility. And now with Henry around, she had an even happier time showing her son the ropes to working a good land. What kid didn't enjoy playing in the dirt after all?
Jefferson wiped the sweat off of his forehead, "You know, Em. It's cute how you want this place spic and span before my sister's arrival. Regina really deserves the best, but if I don't get something to drink now I am going to end up collapsing on you."
Emma was next to wipe the sweat from her forehead, "It is a little hot."
"A little?" He scoffed, "It's so freaking hot, I can cook an egg out here."
She chuckled, "Alright, I'll go see if there is anything to drink in the kitchen." Her eyes looked down to her son, "Henry. You're the boss. Work him hard."
Henry beamed, standing to his feet, hands on his hips and chest puffed out as he looked at his uncle who had just found his place on the dirt, "Alright! You heard her, I'm the boss! Now, get to work, soldier!"
Jefferson groaned, closing his eyes for a short moment. Already hating the heat that was beaming down hard on him.
A good walk later, Emma entered the cool ambient home, her eyes taking in every sight of it, feeling as if it were her first time here ever since her accident. She remembered all the times her and Regina fought time and time again within these very walls. What a long way they had both come from then.
A tiny smile crept at the corner of her lips as she headed straight into the kitchen.
Her hand reached for the handle on the stainless steel fridge door, pulling it open and happy to find a freshly made, ice cold pitcher filled to the very top of freshly squeezed orange juice. Quickly reaching for three glasses, she set them down on the counter, grabbing a hold of the pitcher next, serving herself a glass before serving the rest. She wasn't about to deny herself of a cold glass of her favorite drink.
Her eyes closed once she savored the cold, acid like liquid overpowering her taste buds on her tongue and run down her throat. The full glass of served orange juice soon became half, which quickly became nothing. Just an empty glass, ready to be filled again.
Emma exhaled to herself, her eyes opening back up while she sat the now empty glass down on the counter. Reaching for her cell phone, she re-dialed Regina, in hopes that this time the brunette would pick up on her call.
That still remained unanswered, which left her no choice but to hang up on it again.
"She won't answer."
Emma's head snapped up from looking down at her phone to staring right at Lily, standing inside the kitchen with her. Her lips parting in surprise, "Lily, what the hell are you doing here?"
"I always know where you are, Emma." She smiled, "So, when I heard you were here without Regina, I had to come see for myself. Finally you see the truth to things."
"What truth? Yours?" The blonde's brows furrowed, "That you and I belong together?" She scoffed, "Do yourself a favor and get that stupid idea out of your head."
"Why is it stupid? We belong together, Emma- that's not stupid!"
Emma slammed the glass down on the counter in anger, "Get the hell out of my house. Or so help me, I will call the police."
Lily chuckled, "Go ahead. Call the police. They'll never make it in time." She paused, taking in Emma's eyes, who were beginning to become droopy, "It's too bad you'll never know why Regina isn't answering her phone. Or why Jefferson and Henry didn't see me coming in. Too bad you will never know what's happened to Henry."
Despite her vision starting to become double and blurry all at once, Emma rushed towards the brunette, her hands squeezing at her throat, "What the hell did you do to my son?! Where is Regina?!"
She chuckled, gasping for air, "I didn't have to do anything. I am only guilty of pouring a little something into your drink. You can feel it now, can't you? I can see it starting to build up."
The grip the blonde's hands provided started weakening. Like magic, at the mention of her doing, Emma started feeling more and more lightheaded, so much that her body leaned over against the counter, her hand reaching for her stomach as it suddenly felt like it was being ripped apart from the inside. Beads of sweat were building up on her forehead, running down her face.
"Agh!" The blonde groaned, shattering a glass in the process of bending over the counter some more. She tried so hard to catch a breath, but given that her stomach was being ripped apart, with her testines probably exploding- it was becoming much of a challenge.
A single tear fell from Lily's eyes, hating watching her beloved twisting in agony, "I know. I know it hurts, but it'll be over soon. I promise you that."
"Wha- what… did- did you… do to me?" Emma groaned, keeping her hands on her stomach.
A tiny smirk crept on Lily's lips, "I'm simply making you see that we belong together. Now we will be free of everyone keeping us apart and we can finally be together for all eternity." She moved over to the pitcher of orange juice, serving herself a glass.
"Lily, no!" Emma groaned, "Please. You're better than this… you've always been…" Her eyes shut tight due to the pain, "Please. Don't. You need… to get help."
She shook her head, "All I ever needed is you." She drank the entire liquid one one whole gulp, looking back at the agonizing blonde before her, "Now, the poison just needs to consume me and I will be with you forever."
Strands of blonde hair draped the sides of Emma's face as she remained bent over. Through agonizing pain and groan after groan, she stretched out her hand, guiding herself, pushing herself to move forward. To get help, if there was even any. To get to Jefferson and Henry. She needed for them to see her. Once they saw her, she would be safe.
Lily chuckled, following the blonde through the kitchen and down the hallway, leading her into the living room, "There's no use fighting it anymore, Emma. This is the only way you will see the truth to things." She groaned, starting to feel a sharp pain overtaking her own stomach. "Now, I see… this was always our destiny."
"Henry!" She yelled out, grabbing onto the walls and furniture, hoping to be heard as she soon headed out the door with Lily not too far behind. "Jeff- agh!"
It was then her body decided to give out on all the strength it had left, plummeting to the ground and tumbling down the stairs, onto the dirt ground. Her lips pale white and dry at this point.
Lily was able to drag herself down the steps, crawling with all her might towards an unconscious Emma. Her arm draping over the blonde's stomach, a single tear rolling down her eye. Lastly, she was able to master up one last strength to place a delicate kiss on pale, thin lips.
"We will be together very soon, where not even Regina will be able to keep us apart." She whispered.
Lily looked up as she then heard a chuckle, feeling the shadow of someone standing before them.
It was Gold, kneeling before them with a smirk of victory. His favorite sight being of Emma's pale green eyes barely staring back at him, too tired to keep them open for so long.
"Can you hear me?" His hand lightly slapped at the blonde's cheek. "I certainly hope so, because I have some excellent news for you." He paused, drinking in his triumph, "Fortunately for you, you aren't dying today. Not until I decide it, at least. This…" He motioned between her and Lily, "Was merely a distraction to formulate my next plan." His hand reached inside his jacket pocket, withdrawing a prepared syringe. "This is an antidote. I inject this into you and you will live, I promise." He smirked as he watched Lily's surprised expression, "Unfortunately for you, my dearest Lily, there won't be enough."
"Robert…" Lily groaned, "This wasn't part of the plan."
Robert smirked, "This was always part of my plan. I can't have Emma die just yet, not like this." He patted on the barely conscious blonde's shoulder, "I have big plans for you yet. The fun is just beginning." He tapped on the syringe, letting the air escape from it. Pulling up the sleeve to her jacket, he brought the needle close to her forearm, injecting the antidote into her bloodstream.
Emma's eyes closed completely, feeling the sting of the needle, her mind racing with many thoughts of her where her son could be, where Regina could be. Now it made sense why she wasn't answering her phone. Robert took her and now Henry, and who knew what happened to Jefferson.
"Oh and uh," Robert leaned down, whispering into Emma's ear, knowing well she could still hear him, "Don't you worry about your family. I will let you know where to find them. Soon enough." His eyes moved towards Lily, who still looked up at him in shock. Her life slowly being drained away.
"Why?" She whimpered, feeling weaker and weaker by the minute.
"Life is a chess board, my dear Lily and you were a pawn that needed to be removed." Robert replied, standing to his feet and walking away calmly
It wasn't long before Lily passed away, right beside Emma's weak body, exactly when Robert was driving away in a black car, leaving a trail of smoke from the dirt as he did.
"Emma!" A familiar voice echoed in the air, not being able to register it until Jefferson bent down before the blonde, "What the hell happened to you?" He moved Lily out of the way, picking Emma up, his head throbbing from being struck, "Emma?"
"Robert…" She barely whispered.
"Shit." He looked around, seeing no sign of Henry, knowing all too well he had been taken. He withdrew his cellphone from his pocket, quickly dialing 911, "Please, send an ambulance to Swan's acres. It's down route 56. Hurry!"
"Regina…" She barely whispered again, wanting so badly to be able to gain her voice.
"I know, Em. We'll get them back, I promise. That bastard won't get away with this." He promised her, "Just hold on, okay? Help is on the way."
Her droopy eyes closed on her again, drawing a blank from that moment up to arriving safely to a hospital.
