The boys came in and I shut the door behind us. Tori immediately went to work on the soundproofing and lockdown. They sat down on my bed, I sat down on Tori's. She stayed near the door.
"What's going on?" Simon asked.
I took a deep breath before speaking to try to control my nerves. The last thing I needed right now was to stutter. Tori gave me the go ahead nod.
"We've brought you guys here for different reasons, but the main reason is there is something I need to tell Derek. Simon, you asked to stay in the loop more so its best you hear it at the same time and get all the same information."
"And Tori?" Derek grunts.
"Tori is helping me make sure that no one outside the room hears the conversation and no one leaves this room until everyone's calmed down."
"You're temporarily imprisoning us?" Simon gasps.
Derek shifts his shoulders, "Because of me isn't it?"
"Just listen okay? Before I lose my nerve and don't tell you."
"Go ahead," Tori smirks, still thinking I'm dumping him.
"The man who's been chasing us and hurt us. I know who he is." I paused.
The boys sat listening. I couldn't figure out the expression on Derek's face.
"There was one night back at that house, I went down to the basement and talked to him. He showed me who he was and what he was truly capable of. He has the ability to command and control me. He showed me that night. I got tossed around a bit but by myself, not him. He didn't have to raise a finger."
I hoped someone else would piece it together.
Derek growled angrily, "You went down there, by yourself. When you knew he was there to hurt you."
"Calm down, let her finish." Simon said.
"No," Derek raised his voice. "I don't give a damn about what else she has to say. I don't want to hear more tales of stupidity."
"Ouch," Tori laughed.
"It's in the past," Simon said. "Let her talk."
"He wasn't really there to hurt me," I said. "He's been trying to hurt someone through me. He's been trying to use me."
"And this is something you thought you should keep to yourself?" Derek growled. "Great to know you're on our side."
"Derek," Simon snapped.
I turned to Tori, "Yeah, maybe this wasn't a good idea. Maybe we should call it off and tell them about Dad later."
"Dad?" Simon and Derek echoed.
I turned back to them, knowing I caught their attention. "Oh now you want to hear what I have to say."
"Uh Chloe," Simon tapped on his nose.
I brought the back of my hand to my nose and wiped away blood. Derek tossed me the washcloth like it was nothing new.
"That's what you don't react to?" Simon was bewildered.
"It's nothing new," Derek said.
Simon looked at us in shock.
I held the washcloth to my nose and spoke, "Can I tell you what I need to now or are you going to keep shouting about how stupid I am?"
Derek didn't answer.
"That man is not some random guy, not some hired guy, or anything like that." I paused. "He's the bloodline of the pack. The Alpha."
It was silent while it sunk in and then all hell broke lose. Derek shot up from the bed and got in my face. I shrunk back against the headboard.
"You expect me to believe my father is out there?! You expect me to believe he's the one trying to hurt us?!" A string of cusses and questions flowed from Derek's mouth. He gripped the nightstand that was in between the beds trying not to lay a hand on me. It splintered between his fingers.
I blurted out between questions, "Kit knew too! He didn't want you to know because of how you'd react."
Derek stopped for a moment, anger seething from him.
"Do you really think I'm stupid enough to believe all of this?" Derek roared. "You expect me to believe that my father is trying to hunt me down and my dad was keeping this all a damn secret?"
Simon finally managed to pull Derek back a foot or two. "Calm down. Why would Chloe lie about that?"
"Why the hell would she keep it a secret either?! Aren't we supposed to be a damn family?!"
Derek pulled himself from Simon's grip and went to the door. He punched it and tried to pry it open. But with the magic seal, there was no way through. Derek punched the door again and got in Tori's face.
"Open that door NOW before I break it open!" Derek hit the wall above Tori's head.
I couldn't believe what I heard next.
"Not until you shut up and apologize to Chloe!" Tori shouted back at him. "Can't you see her right now? Would she be like that unless she was telling the truth?"
I didn't know until Tori mentioned it, I had a stream of tears going down my face. I didn't know if they were from Derek scaring me or the guilt of not telling him sooner or the guilt of telling him.
Derek turned around and looked at me. Ready to rage again. He was furious over the accusations towards Kit and the Alpha.
"Both of you are under my control because you're my blood," I quoted the Alpha.
Derek froze.
"You're telling the truth," Simon said. Not a question, a statement. "Derek's father is back."
I nodded.
"And Alpha's have control over their bloodline? They can make you do what they want?"
I nodded again.
Simon sat down beside, forgetting Derek for the moment. He wrapped his arms around me in a hug.
"Then regardless of what my dad said, you should have told us sooner."
I buried my face in his shoulder. "I'm sorry."
"I'm going to kill that son of a-" Derek began. I think he finally believed me.
"Derek," Simon snapped at him again. "You're not going to do anything but calm down right now."
I didn't look up to see Derek's reaction. I heard a growl and the crunch of him punching a wall again. Then he sat on my bed.
It stayed completely silent for another five minutes. Tori was the one to break the silence.
"Well that was fun, I'm going to get a snack." Tori took down the spells and left the room.
Simon lifted my head softly, "Let's take a look at that nose."
Derek's back was to us, he sat at the foot of my bed motionless. Clenching his bloody fists. Simon took the washcloth from my hand and wiped up the blood. I was about to say no when he cut me off.
"Remember this isn't my first rodeo. Dr. Simon specializes in werewolf injuries."
He tilted my head back and to the side, looked in my ears, and at my tongue. It took me a minute to realize that he wasn't really looking for anything, he was just trying to make me smile.
"Did it stop bleeding?" I asked.
Simon nodded, "Looks like it. You should go wash up real quick."
I nodded and got up to go to the bathroom. I looked at Derek again, the stonewall silence was almost more deafening than when he exploded.
