The duel between Maynard and Chazz was intense with neither side backing down. Even though Chazz was putting up a good fight, he was on the losing end of their match as Maynard was able to swiftly and easily dispose of his Ojama King card, which was the best card in Chazz's deck. With his signature card gone and no spell or trap cards in place, his field was left open for a direct attack. "Now, my Daybreaker! Go and attack Chazz's life points directly! And make him see the almighty power of the light!" Commanded Maynard who sent his monster forward.

Chazz braced himself for the oncoming attack as the monster who looked like a knight wearing white armor, came barreling its sword down upon him as Chazz screamed out in frustration when his life points fell to zero. That last attack created a small explosion which blew Chazz off of his feet and onto his back where he momentarily laid there unconscious. His mind was beginning to fade until a white light completely blinded his vision and it consumed his entire subconscious.

When Chazz opened his eyes, Maynard was standing over him with an extended helping hand. Chazz smirked as he saw the werewolf hovering over him and let out a sinister chuckle as he took the other boy's hand, who helped him to stand up. "Welcome to the Society of Light, Chazz Princeton." Said Maynard with a dignified glint in his eyes. Chazz still had that wicked expression on his face as he continued to smirk. "Thank you Maynard, for helping me realize the truth. I will do my best in serving you and Master Sartorius in your future endeavors." Maynard couldn't help but tilt his head back and laugh as he finally got some leverage over that idiotic vampire who he hated so much. Chazz was going to be a great contribution in their goal of making the entire world finally acknowledge the true power of the Light of Destruction.

Another day had passed, and Jaden was sleeping soundly in his bed until he rolled over and placed his hand on something soft. In confusion, he grunted and gave the foreign object a light squeeze which prompted an erotic sound to escape Anastasia's lips, who once again had snuck into Jaden's bed to snuggle him throughout the night. Jaden's eyes snapped open, and he saw his hand was firmly gripping her breast in his right hand. He quickly sat up and saw the sexy scene in front of him.

Anastasia was sleeping next to him wearing one of his baggy t-shirts which she had taken from his closet. And the shirt barely covered her modesty as he could see the silhouette of her perfectly round breasts underneath the thin fabric and her leg which was resting high on top of his own. The bottom of the shirt was barely able to cover her lower half as he noticed she was wearing a lacy purple thong. Jaden's face flushed into a deep scarlet shade as he quickly covered his eyes and removed himself from the bed, with his legs hanging off the edge and his feet resting on the floor as he gave a deep, exaggerated sigh. "Ana, if we are going to be living together, For the love of god… STOP SNEAKING INTO MY BED!" Anastasia awoke with an adorable yawn as she rubbed her eyes.

The lilac haired beauty glanced over at her beloved and smirked as she crawled over behind him and wrapped her arms around his shoulders and nuzzled her face into the crook of his neck, the tip of her nose tickling as his hair brushed against her face. "But you sleep so soundly when I'm next to you. It's adorable, my lord." Jaden didn't pull away from her embrace but was obviously uncomfortable by the close contact. Anastasia then released him, making him look at her, but his eyes grew wide when she saw her pull her collar down and revealed her neck. "Are you hungry? I don't mind offering myself to you." She said with a light pink blush spreading over her pale cheeks.

Jaden gulped as he felt his mouth begin to salivate. "But we're both vampires! Isn't it wrong for me to?-" He tried to speak but she placed a finger to his lips. "There is nothing wrong with vampires feeding on one another. It's just like us feeding on the blood of humans, but for us… It is considered to be rather intimate so we don't commit this act all that much. But I would not offer myself to you if I didn't think you were worthy of tasting me." She said as she tilted her head back, revealing more of her porcelain skin. "Come, my king. This is what you want, is it not?"

Jaden couldn't stop himself as he instinctively pushed her back down onto the bed and pinned her arms above her head. His breaths were staggered and shallow as he tried to fight the urge, but with no luck. His red slitted eyes began to glow with a crimson luster as he stared at the woman who laid beneath him. He leaned his head lower until it was in the crook of her neck, but he was still trying to resist the urge to bite down and claim her. Anastasia's light blush was now a deep shade of magenta as she wrapped her arms around him and gently started to stroke his hair. Her eyes were closed tightly in anticipation as she waited on her king to pierce her flesh.

He couldn't hold on any longer as he willed his mouth to open, showing his extended fangs which slowly began to descend onto her neck. In this moment, he honestly couldn't care less who he was about to drink from. His hunger had been so strong lately that he found himself lusting for it multiple times a day. His appetite was fierce to say the least, and even though he resisted and thought it wasn't ideal, he couldn't resist the urge to sink his fangs into the neck of the woman who was willingly offering her blood to him.

Before he was able to actually bite down, he heard a loud commotion coming from outside. The noise snapped him back to reality as he released her arms and sat up abruptly, his eyes no longer glowing with hunger. "What's going on out there?" He asked himself as he turned his head towards the door. Anastasia sighed in frustration, annoyed beyond belief by the tease she was just given. She was so close to experiencing the connection between her and her beloved king. "I'm sure it's nothing, my lord. Shall we continue?" She asked, hoping he would turn his attention back onto her.

Jaden shook his head. "No, I don't think it's nothing. I mean, it's seven in the morning! Who would be making all that noise at an hour like this?" He removed himself from above her and stood up, despite Anastasia's soft whimpers in protest who was trying to coax him back into bed with her. He walked over to the door and cracked it open and saw a sea of white colored coats that were huddled in a large, tight group in front of the Slifer Red dorms with an unknown person standing in front of the crowd, perched on a wooden box with a megaphone in hand.

Jaden quickly got dressed into his uniform after waking up Syrus to get ready too, and exited their dorm room as he leaned over the rail from the second story to watch the rally commence. Jaden's eyes fell onto the unknown leader who continued to preach to the group when his eyes widened, and almost popped out of his skull from the shock. Chazz adorned a white blazer worn by the members of the Society of Light, as he continued to rally up the crowd that was assembled before him.

"The world we live in is full of disappointment, deception and pain! The people of this world have lost their way and found themselves on the path of damnation unless we can save them! It is our solemn duty as wards of the Society of Light, to guide these lost souls back onto the righteous path!" With every word Chazz preached, the crowd erupted in glorious huzzah as they ate it all up. Chazz looked towards the balcony where Jaden was standing and pointed an accusing finger at him. "That right there, is our true enemy! That monster standing there is the incarnate of total darkness! And he won't get out of our way unless we make him! This is a declaration of war! Are we going to let a beast like him stop us from achieving our dreams?!" Said Chazz with a patriotic tone.

"NO!" Shouted the crowd back in response, all of them were riled up by Chazz's words which resonated deep within their souls. Jaden glared down at his friend who was acting crazy. "What the hell do you think you're doing Chazz?! The Light of Destruction is evil! You know that!" Jaden yelled out, desperate to reach out to Chazz who had obviously become a victim to his greatest enemy. Chazz placed the megaphone to his mouth before he spoke. "The only evil thing here is you, Jaden! The light is what brings us together in unity! We support each other like family! Unlike you and your kind who feasts on us and toss us aside like we're nothing! You vampires are leaches on civilization! You must be DESTROYED!"

That caused the crowd to erupt in applause as they chanted Chazz's name in unison, boosting his ego even more. Jaden could feel his rage begin to boil inside of him. Not because of what Chazz was saying, but because he was infuriated that the Light of Destruction had claimed one of his best friends and turned them against him. He failed yet again, to protect someone he cared about. The person he was most angry with was himself.

Jaden's demonic aura began to flare as a strong wind whipped around him, causing the humans before him to brace themselves and huddle tightly together unless they wanted to be swept away by the force. Jaden gasped, realizing he was about to lose control when he hunched down and pulled his legs to his chest, trying to get himself to calm down. "Breathe Jaden! Don't let it get to you… Come on, focus!" He said to himself with his eyes shut tightly. He took a couple of consecutive deep breaths as the wind started to die down around him and eventually stopped.

The members of the Society of Light all stood in silence, as they witnessed firsthand the dark pressure that the vampire king was capable of producing. It was just like Chazz had said to them, Jaden Yuki was a monster who needed to be delt with.

Jaden was met with an orchestra of boos and hisses as everyone cursed his name with hatred. Jaden frowned and flinched as their words struck his heart like a piercing arrow. They were his classmates, and not too long ago they looked up to him as their savior when he defeated the Sacred Beast cards and saved the world from destruction. But they no longer saw him as Jaden, the loveable Slifer with a gift for dueling. They only saw him as a monster who wanted to feast on them. It was hurting him deeper than he ever thought it would.

Jaden didn't say another word as he took off down the stairs past the enraged mob and into the forest so he could have a moment of silence to himself, and he could think and get his thoughts back in order. Syrus bolted out of their room soon after. He wasn't a part of the conversation, but he and Anastasia were on the other side of the door eaves dropping on the whole thing. "Chazz! You're making a big mistake!" Said Syrus as he complained between gritted teeth. Chazz didn't pay him any attention however as turned his attention back towards the mob and continued with his righteous speech.

Syrus was about to run after Jaden when Anastasia grabbed him by the arm, effectively stopping him. "Why are you holding me back?! He needs me!" Said Syrus with much desperation. He promised he would never leave Jaden alone ever again when he knew he was struggling. "What he needs right now is peace and quiet. A human like you wouldn't understand, but we vampires are sensitive to our emotions. And right now, he is on the brink of losing control. You and I are going to go to class together. I'm sure he would want me to watch over you and protect you anyways. If they were able to get ahold of Chazz, no doubt they might also have their sights on you. So do my king a favor and stick with me and go to class."

"But…" As soon as that word left Syrus's mouth, Anastasia dropped her friendly gaze and glared at him with her normally silver colored eyes turning red with reptilian pupils. Syrus sighed as he gave into her whims. He knew there was no point in arguing with her and decided to just listen to her advice. He would have another time to comfort Jaden when he was ready, but for now, he knew the best decision was to just leave him alone.

The school day had already started and Alexis was in the infirmary fully dressed in her uniform as she was ready to be discharged. She had spent a whole two days in the school's infirmary resting from her injuries, and she finally felt healthy enough to go back to class. Her wounds were healed pretty good but scars now stained her once flawless skin. Fonda Fontain, the school's nurse and physical education teacher, gave her a worried look as she sat at her desk. "Are you sure you're ready to go back? I can always write you a note of absence." She said to the popular Obelisk girl with worry filling her eyes.

Alexis fanned her hand and dismissed any ill feelings Miss Fontain had with a warm smile gracing her lips. "I'll be fine! I feel right as rain now! I don't think I can afford to miss any more of my classes anyways. So, thank you for taking such good care of me." She said with a respectful bow before she left the infirmary. As Alexis walked to class, she felt butterflies in her stomach. She was unconscious the last time Jaden came to see her in the infirmary, so she didn't really get a chance to talk with him before he left. She was nervous to see her boyfriend again knowing he was probably still upset about the events that happened two days prior.

When she made it to class, she was saddened by the fact that Jaden was nowhere to be seen. As her eyes scanned over her classmates, her chestnut colored eyes narrowed as she saw Syrus sitting next to Anastasia in Jaden's seat, which left a foul taste in her mouth. She walked over to the duo with a scowl placed on her perfect brow. "Hey, Syrus. Did I miss anything important while I was gone?" She asked her short blue haired friend with her arms crossed. Syrus looked up at her with a nervous smile as he chuckled. "It's good to see you back and ready for action!"

Syrus gulped when he saw the two beauties glaring at each other, which made the atmosphere around them turn icy cold. Anastasia stopped her cold stare as she forced on a smile and walked over to Alexis and pulled her into a hug, catching the Obelisk completely by surprise. "Let's put the past behind us! I'm sorry about my actions from a few nights ago. My king has forgiven me, and placed his trust in me when it comes to keeping you all safe. I vowed to him that I would not let anything happen to you! So please, let's be friends." She said with a chipper tone.

But as she spoke, she unintentionally started hugging Alexis tighter, still feeling bitter towards the other girl. Anastasia was good at faking being friendly, but she could not deny not that this human girl was a major threat in winning the heart of her precious Jaden. And that thought alone made her furious.

Alexis couldn't breathe as her face began to turn a shade of blue before Anastasia finally let her go allowing her to breathe. Anastasia looked at her still with that friendly expression, pretending that she didn't just attempt to suffocate Alexis to death. Even though she vowed to her king that she wouldn't cause any more harm, she found it hard when it came to Alexis. She hated that girl with a passion and highly disapproved of her relationship with her Supreme King.

Alexis sat down on the other side of Syrus who was stuck in the middle of the two feuding females, as he hung his head in defeat since he had no escape from the awkward position he found himself in. Their teacher entered the classroom, signaling the start of their lesson as he walked up to the podium in the front of the room. "I have an announcement to make! Signaling the end of this years first quarter, we have invited your parents to celebrate 'Family Day' with us here at the academy! So everyone, get excited to see all of your families soon!" Said their teacher who pulled out a confetti popper from his bag and pulled the string, causing cheap confetti to explode out in front of him.

He was met with a response of mostly sighs with an occasional few cheers as his students had mixed emotions about their families coming to see them at their school. Whether it be because they were scared of sharing their grades, or because they didn't want to be disturbed by their parents in their oasis away from home.

Alexis perked up after hearing the good news. This was finally her opportunity to introduce Jaden to her parents. She wanted to prove to him that she was not ashamed to be with him, despite all the hateful commentary they got from their classmates. She wanted to prove that her family would accept him with open arms, and to show that she was serious about their relationship. But Anastasia had a similar idea pop into her mind. With 'Family Day' coming, it was a good time for her mother, the current monarch of the vampire community, to come to the school herself and see their lost king with her very own eyes.

She was also planning to announce that she was claiming him as her fiancé, establishing their royal engagement. That was the true purpose of why she was sent to Duel Academy to begin with. As the current princess of the vampire society, it was her duty to produce a precautionary heir to the throne. And now that she knew that Jaden was an acceptable mate, she was ready to make her claim to the world. And she also wanted to do this because she was not going to let Alexis win without a good fight.

"How exciting! We all actually get to meet each other's families! Do you think your parents will show up, Alexis? I'm not sure about mine. After all, Zane was the star between the two of us. I don't compare at all to my older brother. But still, I hope they didn't forget about me." Asked Syrus to Alexis with a meek smile. "If they have already sent out a message to our parents, I have no doubt that my parents will be the first ones off that boat when they get here. They've been bothering me nonstop since the start of the school year since Atticus came back to us after being missing for three years." Said Alexis.

That was another reason why she was in love with Jaden. Her older brother, Atticus, was missing for three whole years. He was corrupted by the forces of darkness, and against his will was turned into one of the Shadow Riders who sought the power of the three Sacred Beast cards. And it was all because of Jaden that his soul was saved, and she was able to reunite with him. That was honestly probably the start of her affections towards him.

"Do you think Jaden's family will show up? Now that I think about it, he never talks about them." Said Syrus as he placed a finger underneath his chin. Whenever he tried to discuss with Jaden about their personal lives, Jaden had always tried avoiding the topic by bringing up something else, almost like he didn't want to talk about it. "Maybe he doesn't have a good relationship with them. We all know that he isn't the best student. And in Chazz's best words, he's a slacker. Maybe they got in a fight about him coming to Duel Academy. Or maybe they doubted that he would even be accepted. Which is silly, because he's the best duelist at this school." Said Alexis who was now also curious about Jaden's past. Just what would she expect from her boyfriend's parents? What was his childhood like, she wondered.

Jaden found himself back at the cliff where he and Anastasia had their intensive battle. The trees were still broken, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake from when he sent Anastasia flying and left crater within the earth. Even though the scenery around him was in disarray, he found this spot on the island to be the most comforting. The cliff had such a perfect view of the horizon that it brought him peace of mind as he stared at the endless sea which seemed to have no end.

As he relaxed, his felt his pocket vibrate, getting a text notification from his PDA. When he pulled it out of his pocket to read the message his face fell somber. Syrus had just messaged him about the school's new upcoming event, 'Family Day'. And Syrus was asking him if his parents were going to come. He looked at the message with his fingers hanging over the keys as he tried to think of a response, but he decided to not say anything as he repocketed his PDA.

In truth, Jaden was an orphan. He never knew his parents. Or at least he had no memory of them since he lost them when he was incredibly young. He didn't remember how he lost them; all he knew was that he grew up alone with only having himself to rely on. The only person he could consider family was the foster worker who helped to take care of him. But he hadn't seen that person in years. But what a surprise it would be if they did show up, so he didn't have to admit to his friends that he was an orphan. Not like he thought that that was ever going to happen.
