So to answer some questions. I do try to update this story in a consistent schedule which is at the first week of every month (which is until we reached the already written chapters). I wasn't able to update this a few weeks ago since "life" happened. But will still try to update again in the first week of March.
For PrincessOfNeoVerona18: I haven't really thought about that. I tried to stick to the scenarios of the original anime and just place my twist in it but I loved you're suggestion and will look into adding that to the story. Thank you for the suggestion

Ace just wants a normal life. He was never planning on following his stupid father's footstep in getting involved in the underworld business. So why the hell is it following him?
It started with him wanting a side job to earn enough to buy a tracking device to give Lucy. The girl gets in so much trouble that his poor heart can't take the shock knowing Lucy was on the other side of the world.
But apparently it will cost millions. He can ask for money from his parents but he doesn't want them to know. Rogue wouldn't mind and would support him 100%. To be honest he believes that Rogue already planted a tracking device to Lucy and him.
And it's not helping that feeding Lucy whenever they go on dates -I mean travel together- costs thousands for just one meal, and the girl eats 5 times a day. But he can't really help it, it warms his heart to be the one to pay Lucy's meal every time they go on a date. It's a date even if Lucy doesn't know. He just has to make sure that Sabo doesn't find out.
His money making started with beating up some gangs all around the east blue, but that takes too much time and he has to leave for a long time. It doesn't sit well that he has to leave Lucy for a long time for a couple of hundred thousand. So he looked for a good paying job that would allow him to stay close in the city with Lucy.
He found a good paying job in the Whitebeard company as a delivery boy. The name of the company rang some alarm bells but he ignored it cause of the huge pay.
(He shouldn't have ignored it.)
His job only consists of delivering packages every now and then and most of his time is in the office doing paperwork. Because apparently the head of the first division, Marco liked his work so he hired him in office work to help in paperworks. It pays a different rate than his delivery job and Marco reassured him that he can still do delivery and get paid separately. So who was he to refuse?
(He should have refused.)
He was also starting to like his co-workers. The whole company consists of 16 divisions divided into a variety of works. For him this whole Whitebeard company is more of a corporation of different business from advertisement, to recruitment, private investigation, etc. He was actually not sure why Marco and every other 15 division head trusted him so much in their paperworks that he was basically handling some of the company secrets. But what does he know?
(He should have known better.)
So when his co-workers invited him to one of their parties celebrating something, he gladly accepted it. Of course he couldn't drink since he's underage but they fed his black hole stomach with a different variety of food. There was even this weird looking fruit. It was a strange orange fruit with a swirly design. Oddly he wanted to take a bite.
(He shouldn't have.)
So he did.
(He really shouldn't have.)
And it tasted horrible.
(He should have stopped.)
But he continued eating because maybe it will taste better when you continue eating. But it didn't. That is when things started going south.
The moment he finished his disgusting fruit he felt that his head was on fire so he shouted in panic and ran towards the nearest water to take it out, which was the water fountain in the middle of the room. He dunked his head in the fountain to take out the fire.
He breathed in relief when he felt that the fire was gone but panicked again when he realized he couldn't move and he was now drowning in a water fountain.
He can already picture it, Sabo and Law laughing their ass off in his funeral because he died drowning in a 2 feet water fountain.
He wasn't even able to see Lucy for a very long time. The girl kept on disappearing for a long period of time traveling all over the place, she gave him souvenirs after every trip. Dying would be fine if Lucy was the last thing he saw but the last thing in his memory is eating a disgusting fruit, setting himself on fire, and drowning in a 2 feet water fountain. Pathetic.
He'll just have to make sure to haunt any boys that would try anything to his Lucy. Even in death he'll not let anyone take Lucy away. He's possessive and selfish that way. And if Lucy misses him enough, he'll find a way to revive himself from death or maybe find a young man that kinda looks like him and steal -I mean possess - I mean borrow his body.
But to his relief and embarrassment. In the middle of his plan to haunt every boy that surrounds Lucy, Marco saved him from drowning from the 2 feet water fountain.
He then realized that everyone was watching him in horror and amusement. Marco asked about the fruit and he told him he ate it and it was disgusting and he suddenly caught himself on fire, dunked his head in the fountain and drowned. He was expecting them to yell at him for being reckless or eating the weird looking fruit, but then everyone laughed, even the big boss Whitebeard was laughing. Looking around he felt really uncomfortable and there was this urge to run away and never looked back.
(He should have run.)
But he didn't because the pay was so good.
(He shouldn't have thought about the pay.)
And the people were great.
(Well, he's not wrong.)
So he stayed standing, staring at everyone, waiting for them to finish laughing.
(He really should have run.)
He really thought that nothing could go wrong by this time. I mean nothing could top off him lighting himself on fire and almost drowning.
(How wrong he was. Poor, poor Ace.)
To his horror he was told of everything and was now welcomed in their family with open arms. No, not the company he was working for, but the Whitebeard mafia.
Ace really wanted to curse every God there is when everything clicked in his brain. The reason why the Whitebeard name was so familiar is because they are the mafia that is closest to defeating his dad's mafia family before his retirement. They're not really enemies because up until now he knows that his shitty dad is still drinking with the mafia family. He also cursed himself for staying ignorant. He hated his dad so much that he refused to know every news about him. He really should have researched better so he was not caught up in this mess.
"Fuck." Ace murmured as he stared at the grinning idiots that surrounded him.

Ace sighs as he remembers how he was caught up in this place in the first place.
"Come on Ace, just go with us once in a raid. We're not like those bad people you heard about." Thatch a co-worker of Ace pleaded
He sighs again as he prepares himself for going home for the day. It was a long and trying day, and Thatch bugging him is not helping him.
"I said no." Ace said "I told you, I applied here as a delivery boy to have extra cash to buy something."
"Come on Ace, you've been with us for a year. If you really want to just save up for buying something you would have quite months ago. Pops' pay is above average." Marco, another coworker said
"You clearly don't feed someone with a black hole."
Thatch gasped "Don't tell me you already have a child!"
"WHAT! NO!" Ace roared "Sabo will kill me the moment I even think about that with L-" Ace paused when he realized he was spilling his personal life.
"Awww why'd you stop?" Thatch asked "Who's this girl you're saving up a fortune for?" he teased
"No one." Ace looked away blushing
"Marco! Ace is blushing!" Thatch yelled making everyone look their way
"Aw, little Ace is in love?" Haruta teased
"Its apparently someone with a name starts with L." Thatch informed them
"Not really that helpful Thatch." Vista said
"There are millions of girl with a name that starts with L." Izo agreed
"Will you guys stop prying into my personal life?" Ace groaned as they all exited the office and down the stairs.
When they reached the lobby a lot of his friends present were grinning at him teasingly and giving him a thumbs up. He raised an eyebrow at them.
"Ace, a girl is waiting for you." Jozu walked towards them and pointed at a small girl sitting in the lobby back facing them.
Ace almost froze while his other friends whistled in excitement
"Ohhhhh is that the mystery Miss L?" Thatch teased
"Is she pretty?" Haruta asked
"Yeah, very adorable and polite." Jozu said
They were about to ask Ace to introduce the girl when they realized that he was already gone and was already pulling the girl out of the chair.
They looked at each other and laughed. He was fast. He really doesn't want them to meet the girl. Too bad they're persistent bastards and they really want to see this girl.
"Because I miss you silly." They heard the girl giggled
"Ace, aren't you going to introduce us to your friend?" Marco teased as they stopped a few feet away from Ace and the girl
Ace groaned but spun around to face them. When the girl spun to face them he quickly pulled her head toward his chest to hide her face.
Everyone that saw that chuckled
"Ace what are you doing!" The girl panicked, "This is embarrassing." she whined
"So who's your little friend?" Izo asked grinning making Ace glare at him
"My name's L-" she tried introducing herself the best she can while her face was buried on Ace's chest
"Call her L." Ace stopped her from introducing herself
"Ace stop it, you're being rude to your friends." L scolded
"Yeah, Ace, stop being rude." Jozu agreed
"As you said, they're my friends, they'll understand." Ace snorted
"But I wanna see your friends." They could hear the girl pouting
"I'll show you their picture later." Ace said
"You're too selfish, Ace, we just want to see your friend." Thatch whined
"She's really pretty." Jozu said earning a glare from Thatch and other that was not able to see the girl
"I don't wanna." Ace whine
"You're being rude, Ace." L scolded again
"Come on L, your friends are waiting right?" Ace said ignoring her protest
"Yeah, they're so excited to meet you. Shishishi." L said "Come on Ace, let my face go." she whined when they started walking towards the door
"Later when we're out of sight." Ace said
"You're weird today Ace. Shishishishi." the girl laughed as they exit the building
The group was left staring at the door where Ace and his girlfriend left just a few minutes ago.
"I didn't know Ace was that possessive." Thatch laughed
"I was now more curious about the girl." Izo asked
"She was really pretty." Jozu said
"So unfair! I also want to see how she looks!" Thatch whined again "It's not like I'll steal the girl! She's like 10 years old."
"I think more than being possessive, he doesn't want her to be associated with us." Marco said
"I'm just curious about the girl that can make Mr. Grumpy blush and whine like a kid." Thatch argued
"Hey, I never said we'll stop. I just said I think I know why he doesn't want us to see her face." Marco grinned evilly

A few days of spying on Ace, the group found nothing.
"How can Ace be so good at hiding her?" Thatch groaned as they wait in the restaurant Baratie one of the most famous restaurant in the city
"Hello I'll be your waitress for today." A small girl in a maid outfit and cat ears said, making them look down. She was almost as tall at their table.
"Aren't you too young to be working?" Marco asked, raising an eyebrow. He knows that in the underworld slaves are common but to make a small girl work in a legal business is quite ballsy for the owner
"Oh, I'm a family friend. They let me help once in a while for savings. Shishishi" the small girl explained "So what will you guys be having?"
"Can we take a picture together?" Thatch blurted out when the girl was about to leave after taking down their orders.
Marco felt all the waiters near them froze and set their full attention at their table. He smirked, the girl was well protected in this restaurant.
"Why?" She tilt her head cutely
"Because you're just too adorable. I heard that you only wear costumes on certain occasions so I really want to have a picture with you." Thatch pouted
"Shishishi, okay." the little girl giggled
"I'll take the picture for you gentlemen." A blond-haired boy with twirly eyebrows said, narrowing his eyes at everyone present at the table.
Maybe they are the children of the owner? That will explain why they are letting the girl work and even dress up in the restaurant.
After a group photo, Thatch asked for a solo with the girl and lucky for him, the blond boy agreed. Because he honestly thought that the small girl will not refuse, and it's up to the blond boy to agree or not at the request.
"She really is so adorable." Thatch squealed "I bet Ace will get jealous." he laughed evilly
"Speaking of Ace, doesn't that girl's laugh sound familiar?" Haruta asked glancing at the kitchen door where the girl enter
"Come on Haruta, are you saying that Ace's little girlfriend is that cute little neko-chan?" Thatch laughed. "She's too adorable for Ace." he snorted
"Didn't you see her face, Jozu? Is she that girl?" Izo asked
"I had a glance and with just a glance I knew the girl was pretty. But I really can't say they're the same." Jozu said
The group then changed the topic because it was useless to continue to debate whether that small cute girl was Ace's small girlfriend or not. They'll just have to try again next time.
But the next table from them caught their attention, because most of them are kids and just a few teenagers. I mean they were in a fancy restaurant but the waiters were serving a bunch of kids like it was a normal scene.
"So what are you bastards doing here again?" The blond curly eyebrow groaned as he approached the table with kids.
So they are regulars. Maybe children from rich families.
"We wanna see Lucy-chan." The smallest boy with a funny looking hat- it have reindeer antlers as a design
"I imagine it was so adorable." The oldest looking girl of the group giggled
The blond waiter smirked, "You're just in time, she'll be leaving in half an hour, so you'll be her last table for today."
"Yey!" The other girl with orange hair cheered. She brought out a polaroid camera "I really love dressing Lucy!"
"Well, it's not everyday you find someone that would literally not care what clothes you throw at her." The boy with a long nose said
"You should see my collection! Lucy is just too adorable for her own good." The orange girl said
"Why are you collecting Lucy's pictures, Nami-sis?" the guy with bright blue hair asked
"Are you perhaps going to give it to Ace-kun? Yohohohoho." The oldest looking guy with afro hairstyle asked

"Did that dude just say Ace?" Haruta whispered so the other table would not found out that they're eavesdropping
"Do you think it's really possible?" Izo asked leaning closer to the table
"And her name is Lucy." Vista noted
"Oh my Oda, we just found out Ace's little cute girlfriend." Thatch squealed, "And she's adorable."
Everyone nodded. Even Marco finds the brat adorable. They can really understand why Ace doesn't want anyone to see her face.

"What are you talking about?" The girl, Nami, asked "It's for my portfolio for designs!" She showed a thick book from nowhere "But maybe I'll give a few to Ace."
"I'm surprised you're not going to sell it to him." the green haired boy said
"Eh, I already extorted enough money from him from the time being." Nami snorted, "It'll be a small gift from all the entertainment he showed us."
The long nose snorted "You mean, you wanted to see Ace nosebleed again?"
Nami laughed "Exactly!"
"You're evil." The green haired boy grinned
"And you're not?" Nami challenged grinning evilly back
"So are you also giving Sabo pictures?" The boy with the reindeer hat asked
"Maybe one or two if we saw him personally." Nami answered
"To also see his reaction?" The other girl asked amused
"That's why I love you Robin-chan, you know me so well." Nami laughed
After a few minutes the same cat maid costume wearing a girl that took their orders showed up at their table.
"Hello, what will you guys be having?" The girl, who is now named Lucy asked
"Awwwww Lucy-chan! I wanna hug!" Nami squealed pulling Lucy into a tight hug
"Nami, I'm working." she whine
"Don't worry Lucy-swan, you're already free. They just want to see you in costume." The swirly eyebrow boy said pulling a chair for Lucy
"So what are your plans today Lucy-sis?" The blue haired boy asked
"Ace's going to pick me up." Lucy said "Mommy and Daddy are working, and Sabo is busy again. So I'm gonna stay in their house until the end of the week, I think?"
"So how is your savings coming along?" Sanji asked sitting beside Lucy
"Just a few more thousands and I can buy the hat now!" Lucy cheered
"I really don't get you Lucy, you're the richest person I know but you refuse to spend all the money your parents give you." Nami said sighing
"I do spend them. For traveling. Shishishi." Lucy retorted
"But why are you buying a hat so expensive?" The reindeer hat wearing boy asked
"Its custom made. Shishishsi." Lucy said "Nami, did you get me a dress? I need to change now, Ace will arrive any minute now."
Nami was about to give her the paper bag but paused "Why don't you show Ace your costume?" she asked
"Eh, why?" Lucy asked innocently
"Nami, do you want Ace to die from too much blood loss?" The reindeer hat wearing boy asked
"Bet Ace will like it." Nami winked at Lucy
"Really?" Lucy asked innocently
"Too bad, Sabo-kun will not see it personally. Fufufu." Robin said giggling
"I think Sabo would kill me first before dying from nosebleed." Nami deadpan
"Then let's send Koala-chan a picture." Robin said "I'm sure she'll love it so much she'll show it to Sabo-kun."
"Robin-chan do you want me to die so badly? Sabo will kill me the next time we see each other." Nami deadpan, "Heck he might even invent a way to kill me through text."
"Fufufu, but Nami-chan sending Koala-chan a picture of Lucy would mean her showing the picture to others. The others who adore Lucy too much will want a copy of their own. You can just sell them a copy and make money." Robin said
The Whitebeard mafia can clearly see Nami's eyes turn into belli signs. "Robin-chan you're a genius. Why don't I also do it with Auntie Rogue and maybe Uncle Corazon?"
"Fufufu, the many, the merrier." Robin giggled
"Robin, why are you supporting Nami's money obsession?" The long nose boy asked
"Shut up Usopp! My materials for dresses are expensive." Nami shouted

"Do you think they'll sell me some?" Thatch asked his friends, tempted to walk to the table and ask for copies
And they can't honestly say that they don't have the same idea as Thatch.

"I see Ace coming." Sanji said standing up. "Ready your cameras."
The Whitebeard mafia watched in excitement as they saw the blond waiter walk towards Ace to escort him to their table.
Thatch almost laughed when every commander present brought out their phones to take a picture of Ace's reaction to cute Lucy's costume.
"Ace ready your heart okay?" Swirly brows said before stepping to the side to show Lucy
The whitebeard mafias can clearly see Ace froze and stared at the girl.
"Ace!" Lucy yelled and jumped to Ace in a hug. Both her hands were wrapped into Ace's neck and both her legs wrapped on Ace's waist.
"Lu-Lucy!" Ace yelled the moment he realized what was happening. "What the hell are you wearing?" He almost yelled hiding his now blushing face in Lucy's neck as he hug the girl back
"I'm a neko-maid-sama!" Lucy giggled "Do you like it? Nami designed this! She said you'll love to see this"
Nami grinned "You're welcome Ace."
Ace groaned but didn't move nor lift his head to look at anything.

"Oh my Oda!" Thatch almost yelled, he was recording everything in perfect view "This is gold! Pops would love this!"
"I now understand Lucy's friend when they said Ace has the best reactions." Haruta laughed
"I wanna hang out with her with Ace so bad!" Izo said "Nami girl said that Lucy let people dress her up! I wanna dress her up!" Izo whined
Marco smirked evilly "Then why won't we give Ace a surprise of our own?"
"What are you planning Marco?" Vista asked
"We have a legal company face." Marco grinned "And according to the publication department, we don't have a model yet. Let's hire a very cute adorable model we know."
Everyone on the table grinned. They'll meet Lucy whether Ace wants it or not.

"Ace are you okay?" Lucy asked after the initial shock of Ace.
He is now sitting with Lucy's friends holding his nose up to stop his nosebleed
"Yeah, just a regular nosebleed." Ace said
"Why do you keep on getting nosebleeds?" Lucy asked, "It's not really hot right now."
Brooke laughed "Ace is hot somewhere else Lucy-chan. Yohohohoho"
"Shut up!" Ace glared at Brooke but he only laughed at Ace.

On the other table everyone choked on their saliva getting the joke of the afro dude.
"I really want to meet her friends! They're a fun bunch."
They panicked when they saw Ace's head fall face first on the table. To their confusion no body in the table was concerned
"And he's down." The reindeer hat wearing boy said
"It's happening more frequently, Lucy-sis." The blue haired boy said
"Yeah, Ace's always tired because of work." Lucy frowned. "That's why I told him I'll pick him up but he always refuses me." she pouted "Told me he doesn't want his friends to see my face." she looked at her friends like she's about to cry "Am I that ugly?"
The whitebeard choke once again because who in their right mind will think that way (They still are not familiar with Lucy logic, so…)
"I think Lucy-chan Ace doesn't want his friends to see your face because he's jealous. Fufufu" Robin said
Nami nodded "Yeah, Ace is really possessive."
"Why?" She pouted again, "It's not like I'll replace him with his friends."
"It's because Ace is stupid." Swirly eye brow said and the whitebeard mafia can't help but to nod
"But Lucy, I'm curious, when Ace's first sleep attack, did you try to kiss him on the lips?" Ussop asked
"Why would I?" Lucy asked
"You know, like in sleeping beauty but in reverse?" He explained
"Oh that! I want to try but I can't." Lucy said
"Why?" Nami asked
"Well, Sabo will kill him. Then Toroa will revive him from the dead just to kill him again."
"Aren't you exaggerating Lucy?" Ussop asked
"Nope. They clearly told me that they'll kill him, find a way to revive him, and kill him again."
"That's not possible Lucy." Sanji said
"You still haven't met Toroa. He's super smart. I'm sure he'll find a way to revive someone to just kill them again." Lucy said
"I think Lucy-chan is right, Sanji-san. Everything is possible in this world." The afro dude said, and the whitebeard mafias caught the implication that there is a hidden message in that
"But that's too much work. Why not just torture him then kill him?" the green hair boy asked
"Well they told me they won't be content with that. They want him to experience death a second time."
"Lucy, your brothers are terrifying." the reindeer hat boy shivered
"Really? I think they're funny. Shishishishi." Lucy laughed
"I'm not sure if you're too innocent to realize how scary your brothers are or if you have a very sadistic and scary side you're hiding from us." Usopp shivered
"But I'm not." Lucy said "I just trust Sabo and Toroa not to kill Ace."
"Your trust in them must be made of steel Yohohohoho." The afro dude said
"Shishishi, of course I trust them with my life." Lucy giggled

The whitebeard mafia were quite uncomfortable after their last conversation. A bunch of 10 to 18 year old children are talking death, torture, and murder casually.
They're low-key afraid of meeting them now.
Oh who are they kidding. They are now more excited to meet this bunch of crazy kids.
