Chloe's POV

Woke back up in my cell like usual. I hated that I basically rotated between three rooms. But there was nothing I could do about it. I was too weak to fight back.

My door opened and I rolled over to see who it was. Aunt Lauren stepped in, she didn't bother to close the door behind her. I wanted so bad to growl at her and make her leave but I couldn't bring myself to.

"How do you feel?" She asked

"Weaker," I said. "Obviously."

"You know that you aren't necessarily weaker," Aunt Lauren rolled her eyes.

"What?" I asked confused, how could I not be weaker? Simple tasks were hard.

"You're reverting to your human strength. Which yes was weaker than your werewolf strength, but you're not necessarily weak. You just need to readjust."

So their treatments were working...

"How'd you do it?" I asked.

"Combination of magic and science, mutating your DNA to human. Doing it all at once would kill you. That's why they're doing it in stages."

I rolled back over away from her. She was evil, doing this to me. There was never really a chance of me escaping her, but even if there were; there was none now. I couldn't do much of anything.

"I suggest you get up and go for a walk," Aunt Lauren said. "The sooner you adjust, the better."

The feeling of defeat filled me so I did what I was told. I shoved myself up and off the bed and followed her for a walk up and down some hallways. Not paying attention to a thing she said.

Derek's POV

Everyone wanted to stop and stay somewhere for the night but I wasn't going to sleep anyways so I finally got a turn to drive. It was hard for me to follow the speed limits, I wanted to floor it and find Chloe.

The sun was coming up over the horizon as we entered the town. I pulled off at an abandoned looking parking lot.

"Tell Lauren you are meeting her earlier than you expected," I told Dad.

Dad looked at me, "Are you seriously telling me what to do right now?"

"Are you going to stop me?" I said back. "Do you really want to continue to sit in this car with me or do you want this show on the road?"

Dad knew sitting around for a few hours would be pointless, he pulled out his phone and dialed Lauren's number. She picked up quickly this time.

"I'm here," Dad said.

"Oh," Lauren was surprised. "I'll be over as soon as I can then. Where are the boys?"

"Were they supposed to come with me?" Dad asked.

"I'd rather talk to you alone but if you can't find somewhere to kick them for a bit; we'll handle it."

"I'll drop them by the library, tell them to research or something," Dad told her. "See you soon."

Dad looked around at all of us, "Don't do anything stupid while I'm gone." Then got out of the car with Tess. She had insisted last night that she go with him in case this was a trap, he would need back up.

As soon as they were around the corner and out of sight, I turned the car back on.

"What are you doing?" Tori asked.

"I'm not sitting here while Kit enjoys a burger," I said. "We are going looking for that building."

I waved my hand out the window for the pack to pull up next to us. They pulled up and rolled their window down.

"Whats the plan?" Sylvia asked.

"They are going to talk to her aunt and try to get information. If you guys want to hop in here with us, we are going scouting for anything that could be the facility."

Nate was openly unhappy about sharing a car with us but got in. One car driving around would be less suspicious than two. I put us in Drive and off we went, street by street, looking for anything that could be it. I noticed I was starting to grip the wheel tighter and tighter. I was so anxious to find Chloe and get her to safety.
