Simon's POV

Tori used whatever spell or power and unlocked door after door.

"Where did you learn to do that?" I asked.

"I was trying to break into a warehouse so I had somewhere to sleep for the night and everything was locked. I got so frustrated trying to unlock a door that it just sort of happened. The blue light just kind of burst out of my hand. I've been practicing it since so I can use it without so much emotion." Tori explained.

We went to round a corner but I heard something and grabbed Tori before she could walk around the corner. I flattened myself against the wall and listened. There were hushed voices and loud bangs.

"What was that?" I asked her.

Tori shrugged. I heard a familiar voice yell jesus christ and I knew at the least, Derek was over there. I wanted to wait until I knew who else was there but Tori pulled herself away and walked around the corner. Something whistled by her head and she ducked swearing.

"Wait," I heard Derek say. "She's one of ours."

I followed her around the corner. It was Derek and the werewolves, Nate was holding a gun. That must have been what I heard.

"Have you had that this whole time?" I asked walking up.

Nate nodded, "Yeah. So?"

I looked over at Derek flabbergasted. That's when I realized he wasn't in good shape. Not like he had been shot or anything, but he looked like he was on the verge of a heart attack or mental breakdown. Or both.

"You good?" I asked him.

Derek didn't seem to hear my question. I snapped my fingers in front of his face.

"Hey, we need to keep moving."

"Left," Nate said.

Left? That wasn't a very helpful explanation. But I wasn't going to waste time asking question, Tori and I joined in on whatever they were up to.

Derek's POV

We started walking away from the people Nate shot, I felt sick to my stomach. Something moved up ahead of us and Nate shot again. It didn't register in my head who that was until I heard her voice.

"Wait," I said. "She's one of ours."

Tori and Simon came around the corner into our hallway. Simon started talking to Nate. My mind went back to Chloe, she was feet away from me and I failed. I couldn't get to her.

Simon snapped his fingers in front of my face to get my attention.

"Hey, we need to keep moving."

I started walking. Keep moving where? I thought to myself. Chloe had vanished again. I need to get better at protecting her.

We spent another probably ten minutes making our way through a maze of hallways. Any time we almost ran into workers, we waited around corners or dipped into empty rooms and waited for them to pass by. For a building so big, they really didn't seem to have that much staff on this floor.

We opened a set of doors that lead to a brightly lit hallway. Every door looked exactly the same. Heavy metal door with a heavy metal lock and keypad.

"This has to be the cells," I said.

Nate and Ron cracked their knuckles, "Lets get to work."

Ron tried a key card on the keypad of the first door. Tori, Sylvia, and Simon kept look out at the ends of the hallways. The key card worked and the lock came partially undone, Ron and Nate grabbed the lock and twisted it until it snapped off. They pushed the door open and no one was inside. It was for sure a cell though, it had a metal bed frame along the wall.

Ron tried the key card on the next cell door and it didn't work. We glanced at each other, not sure what to do. I pushed him out of my way, gripped the lock and tried to break it. My injured shoulder was not having it though.

"I'll trade you," Tori said to me.

I did not like that one bit, it was very demeaning that a witch thought she could outdo a mutated werewolf. I growled at her.

"Give her a try," Sylvia frowned at me.

I glared the entire time but did, taking her place by the door, watching out the small window for anyone coming. Tori walked up to the key pad, her hand started...glowing? The key pad started beeping until it sparked. Then the next one sparked, it flew down the line of doors. Whatever she did, broke all of them. Tori shot me a smug smile. I flipped her off. A siren started going off somewhere, I couldn't pinpoint where.

"Hurry," Simon said.

Nate and Ron got to work breaking open the cell door locks, one after another they were empty. Then they started coming upon people. They opened the door and people were backed into the corner scared.

They quickly got into a system. The two werewolves would move onto the next door immediately and Tori would pull them out, sending them to either end of the hallway.

"Whats going on?" A girl asked as she approached me and Simon.

"We're busting everyone out," Simon said.

"Derek," Nate called, almost all the way at the other end of the hall.

"Watch for people," I said to the girl and raced over to Nate, there were lots of footsteps above us now. Time was running out.
