Chapter 2: Building Race

(A/N: I will try and do better with the interactions between the contestants. You'll have to bear with me, this is my first time doing a fanfiction like this, and please don't flame me.)

Forty-five minutes later, the teams were taken down to the beach.

"Okay, now for your first challenge, you'll have to create a small replica sculpture of a famous US monument. The pieces are buried in the sand, and the monument is made up of five pieces each. Eagles will dig on the right, Tigers will dig on the left. And you'll have two hours to finish this." Monica announced.

"At least this won't be too hard." Hayley mentioned.

"And it's like the Total Drama challenge." added Conrad.

Co-hostess Hailey handed out the shovels, and the teams went to their respective spots.

"Ready...set...go!" Monica shouted, as she started a timer.

They all began digging around in the sand.

"All right, everyone find a spot, and start digging!" ordered Caleb.

"Someone has to take command. I figured I'd get a jump on it." Caleb told the camera.

"Guess, he's declared himself the team leader." Bo replied, as he pushed his shovel into the sand.

"Well we do need one, if we're gonna be a team." Yasmine told him in her quiet voice.

"Yeah, but we should vote first."

"I don't know, but I don't think Caleb's gonna last long on this team if he's gonna be like that." Bo mentioned.

On the other side, the Titanium Tigers were all spread out digging to find parts.

"I think I found something." announced Dixie.

She reached into the sand, and pulled out a medium white piece of plaster.

"Good find, Dixie." complimented Conrad.

She put it on their little platform.

"I think I've got one." Joshua announced.

He tried to pull it out, but it was sort of heavy.

"Here let me help you." offered Zachary.

He reached down, and pulled out a dark gray piece of plaster.

"So far each team has found one piece and are at a tie. But how long will it stay that way? Find out on Totally Epic." Monica announced.

Later on, the Titanium Tigers and Platinum Eagles continued to look for pieces and found a couple. Jaime looked around their area, and then spoke.

"I think there's a couple pieces located over there." Jaime informed, point to an area.

"How do you know?" Benneth wanted to know.

"I just feel it."

The Tigers went over to where Jaime said, and found two more pieces.

"Awesome, nice instinct, Jaime." Dixie complimented.

Jaime smiled a little.

"I can't really explain it, but I seem to have sort of a 6th sense when it comes to certain things." Jaime confessed.

"And the Titanium Tigers are in the lead." Monica announced.

"Come on guys, we gotta step it up." Bo informed his team members.

"Gee this digging sure is giving me an appetite." Madison mentioned.

"But we ate not too long ago." Yasmine told her.

"You can always eat."

"I always believe there's never a bad time to think about food. After all I think about food 24/7." Madison told.

"I got another piece." Destiny announced.

They quickly put on their platform.

"You know I'm wondering, Monica. Why didn't you put in traps like on that other show?" Co-hostess Hailey wondered.

"Oh, come on Hailey. I'm not cruel." Monica told her.

Soon the Tigers found their last piece.

"Come on, we have to put it together!" called Magdalena.

"Come on people, the Tigers are gonna beat us!" Bo shouted.

Caleb carefully looked around for a place they haven't dug up yet, and then he finally spotted one.

"Try over there." suggested Caleb, pointing.

They quickly hurried over, and started digging. Sure enough they found the last piece.

"Let's get this thing put together." said Destiny.

"One hour left, people." Monica informed.

Luckily the hardest part was now over, and luckily there weren't too many pieces.

"Okay, I think this piece is the bottom." informed Joshua.

"Let's try this piece next. By the way you think you the mess hall serves in between snacks?" added Madison.

But it didn't fit.

"Try this one." suggested Bo, handing her another piece.

Luckily this one seemed to work. With the Tigers, they tried to figure out which piece connected to which.

"Uh, could this piece go somewhere?" asked Hayley quietly, holding a piece.

"Let's try it." said Conrad, taking it.

He placed it on the bottom piece, and luckily it fit. As they worked time ticked on, so far it looked like the Tigers were in the lead.

"Come on guys, we gotta pick up the pace." Bo told them.

"We're going as fast as we can, dude." Joshua told him.

"Any idea what this monument is supposed to be?" wondered Sabine.

"Hmm, it's looking like...the Washington Monument." said Benneth.

"At least it's simple." replied Magdalena.

"I think we have something taking shape here." Destiny said, as she put a piece on another.

"It's looking like...the St. Louis Arch." observed Zachary.

"We can do this people." Bo told his teammates.

As the time came closer to zero, the teams worked hard to finish their monument.

"Just one more piece, who has it?" wondered Dixie.

Jaime found the last piece on the platform.

"Here it is." He quickly put it on and the Titanium Tigers yelled, "DONE!"

The Platinum Eagles couldn't believe it, they had lost.

"The winners of the first challenge, the Titanium Tigers!" Monica announced proudly.

The Tigers cheered happily, while the Eagles groaned.

"Hailey, would you like to tell our winners their prize?" Monica suggested.

"Sure thing, Monica. For winning the challenge you get a dinner at a 5-star restaurant close by." Co-hostess Hailey informed.

"All right!" cheered Magdalena.

"Great." added Jaime.

"That's awesome!" Dixie squealed.

Cool." Benneth replied.

"Sounds delicious." Sabine mentioned.

"I'm in." said Conrad.

"Yay." Hayley whispered.

"Platinum Eagles, you'll be sending someone home tonight. I'll see you at the elimination ceremony." Monica said.

The Platinum Eagles just looked at each other, which one of them would be the first to go?

That evening while the Tigers got on a bus to the restaurant, the Eagles had their dinner in the mess hall.

"So...which one of us is leaving?" asked Yasmine.

"Obviously, it's someone who didn't pull their own weight." Bo replied.

"We all tried." protested Destiny.

"If I'd known the prize was a dinner at a 5-star restaurant I would've worked harder. Just imagine what those Tigers could be chowing down on." Madison complained.

"Well one of us has to go." mentioned Caleb.

"Well I'm just gonna point this out." Bo started.

"Joshua you could've worked a little harder. Yasmine you gotta speak up a little more. Zachary you should've dug more. Destiny you could've pitched in and helped a little more. Madison you kept talking about food. And Caleb..."

"Hey." Caleb protested.

"Why are you critiquing us, what about you?"

"I gave it all my all." Bo told him.

"And we didn't try our best?" Caleb wanted to know.

The two stared down, and it looked like things were about to get ugly.

"Hey, guys, let's cool down." Joshua told them, getting between the two.

They did, but Caleb kept an eye on Bo.

"I don't know about Bo. He's definitely not the weakest in the group, but I don't think I like him." Caleb told. "I'm gonna have to have a word with the rest of the team.

That night, the Eagles gathered at the elimination ceremony.

"Platinum Eagles, you've all cast your votes. And now it's time to find out who's leaving and who's staying." said Monica.

Everyone looked a bit nervous, and some actually bit their lips.

"Here's how it's going to work. When I call your name you'll come up and receive a small tiki charm, whoever doesn't get one is out of the contest. Now let's get started."

This was the big moment.

"Joshua."

He got up, and took a tiki charm from her.

"Yasmine."

"Zachary."

"Destiny."

"Madison."

It was now down to Caleb and Bo.

"And the big moment. The final charm goes to..." Monica started.

Bo looked at Caleb, and Caleb looked at Bo. Then they both looked back at Monica.

"...Caleb."

"What!?" Bo asked.

"Yes." Caleb whispered, as he got up to get it.

"Sorry, Bo. But you're out." Monica told him.

"Fine." Bo said, and he walked away.

"And there goes our first eliminated contestant. Who'll be next to go. Will the Platinum Eagles be victorious in the next challenge? Find out next time on Totally Epic." Monica announced.

Bo got his stuff, and got in a cab that drove him away from the set. As he rode, he saw the Titanium Tigers having their dinner in a restaurant. Inside the team had a great dinner of steak, pasta, chicken, and all kinds of delicious sides.

"Now this is how a winner eats." Dixie declared.

"Let's hope we win some more challenges." said Benneth.

And everyone agreed.

That's chapter 1. Plz don't flame, and just to let you know I'm going to call my Hailey Co-hostess Hailey so she won't get confused with contestant Haley
