Simon's POV
Derek followed her scent to the werewolf hide out on the edge of Tess' property. There was the sound of something struggling inside.
"Are you sure you want to see her like this?" I asked Derek.
He didn't respond to me, he just yanked the door open.
Matt spun around, "What are you two doing here?! Get out."
We stepped in and shut the door behind us.
"I'm not going anywhere," Derek said to him.
Matt sighed, annoyed. Derek walked past him and knelt down in front of Chloe, she was cuffed to a chair, trashing about and making inhuman snarls. Her eyes were deeply bloodshot and fangs already were poking from her mouth.
"There's a way to fix this right?" I asked Matt.
Matt nodded, "She hasn't fed on anyone yet so she's still in a sort of transition state."
"How do we reverse it?" Derek asked.
"It's not pretty," Matt said. "In the transitioning state, the vampire toxin hasn't left her bloodstream yet. So we need to drain the toxin out of her."
"What?" Both Derek and I responded.
"You're going to kill her draining her blood," Derek growled.
Matt shook his head, "No, that's where you or your father come into play. Werewolves can heal quicker than human."
I was astonished, "You're going to cure her of vampirism by forcing her back to being a werewolf."
I expected Derek to yell no, or do something of the sort. All he did was look at Chloe.
"Matt's right, it would likely work."
"You're the one who has been preaching that she needed to be human and make her own choices," I said to him.
"We don't have a choice now," Derek snapped. He turned to Matt, "Just do it."
He wasn't going to forgive himself for it, I could tell now. But he was right that this was our best way of saving her.
I walked over and knelt besides Derek. Matt grabbed some tools and walked behind Chloe.
"Chloe?" Derek asked. "Chloe are you in there?"
Matt shook his head, "She can't hear you."
There was a spark of something in her bloody eyes.
"What's happening?" She asked. Her voice was strained.
"We're going go get you help, ok?" Derek said. A glimmer of hope in his voice, she wasn't gone yet.
The spark started fading from her eyes.
"Chloe?" Derek panicked.
The spark was gone and animalistic instinct returned. Chloe tried to lunge at us but the restraints held her back.
There was a gruesome sound behind Chloe and the 'tink' of water hitting a metal bucket. But there was no water here... I stood up to see what Matt was doing. He had cut into Chloe's arm to start the process, the sound was Chloe's blood.
I threw up at the sight and needed to step outside.
Derek on the other hand, wasn't going to leave her side no matter what.
I was talking myself up to going back inside and being there for Chloe when Dad came walking up.
"I have been looking everywhere for you two. Where is your brother?"
"With Chloe," I said.
Dad nodded slowly, "I heard what happened to her. It's too bad."
"They are fixing her," I replied.
Dad shook his head, "I know but you can never really get rid of something like that. She'll forever be a little different."
"What are you saying?"
"I'm saying that even though the vampire side will be tremendously lessened, they're creating a vampire-werewolf hybrid. A very dangerous creature."
I didn't believe him. Or didn't want to. Chloe? A vicious creature? Come on.
