Chapter 4: Alcatraz Scavenger Hunt

"Last time on Totally Epic, the teams competed in a game of capture the flag. The Platinum Eagles took victory, and the Titanium Tigers sent away Sabine when her fear of spiders cost them the challenge. What'll happen this time? Who'll win? And who will go home? Find out on this episode of, Totally Epic!" Monica announced.

It was afternoon, and the contestants were just hanging around. Hayley was practicing her martial arts skills in an empty area.

"Gee you're pretty good." said a voice.

She turned around and saw Magdalena and Dixie.

"Oh, uh thanks." Hayley replied, quietly.

"How long have you been doing martial arts?" wondered Magdalena.

"Ever since I was a kid."

"Wow, must take up a lot of time." Dixie observed.

"It does. Unfortunately."

"Well why don't you take a break?" Magdalena suggested.

That stunned Hayley.

"Back at home my parents had me train from dawn to dusk. And they only had me take breaks for food." Hayley told the camera.

"Sure, but what can we do?" she asked.

"Well we can teach you different hair styles." suggested Dixie.

"Really?"

"Sure, come on." Magdalena told her.

Meanwhile, Yasmine was sitting around fiddling with her hair. Just then Joshua came up to her.

"Hey, Yasmine. What's up?" he asked.

"Oh, hey Joshua. Just sitting here." she replied.

"Why are you just sitting here?"

"I don't know."

"Well I was going to show the rest of the team my skateboard moves. Wanna come?"

"Sure. Why not?"

And she followed him. The teens continued hanging out, until dinner. They all went into the tent, and ate some pork chops while Hayley had a salad.

"Thanks for showing my the different hair styles." Hayley told Magdalena and Dixie.

"No problem, Hayley." Dixie replied.

As she ate her salad, she glanced over the pork chops everyone else was eating. She wished she could have one, but an allergy was an allergy. Then Monica came in.

"Good evening, contestants. I hope you're ready for tonight's challenge." she announced.

"We're actually doing a challenge today?" asked Caleb.

"It's kinda late isn't it?" wondered Benneth.

His other team members looked at him.

"(Pfft) I should've known better. This show's like Total Drama of course they are gonna be challenges at night." he said.

"When you finish dinner, go outside and meet on the bus." Monica told them, and she left.

Once they all finished, the teens went outside, and saw a bus waiting for them by the road. As they boarded, they saw Monica and Co-hostess Hailey already on board. They took their seats, and Monica drove them away.

"I wonder what we're doing?" thought Madison.

"I'm sensing that it's gonna be something frighting." Jaime piped up.

They drove for a while, and then the bus stopped, and they got off at a bay. Off in the distance was an island with a large building on it.

"What is that place?" asked Madison.

"Alcatraz Prison. One of the most haunted places in the country." Monica told them.

"Wow." breathed Destiny.

"For this challenge, you're going to be competing in a scavenger hunt inside."

"Everyone get in the boat, life vests are inside." Co-hostess Hailey instructed.

The teens got into the boat, and put on their life vests. Once they were all ready, Co-hostess Hailey drove them to the island.

"I have a feeling this is gonna be creepy." whispered Hayley.

"Don't worry, Hayley. It'll be cool." encouraged Conrad.

"You believe in ghosts?" Zachary whispered to Caleb.

"No." Caleb told him.

When they got there, they all got out of the boat, and waited for Monica's instructions.

"Now each team will have to find five things hidden in the prison. You'll each be provided with a flashlight." she told them.

Co-Hostess Hailey handed them all flashlights, and each team a piece of paper.

"You'll have two hours to find each thing. And be careful to not to get scared by any ghosts. And...go."

And with all that, both teams made their way into the prison.

Once inside, the Platinum Eagles went one way and the Titanium Tigers went another.

"So what's on the list?" asked Yasmine.

Caleb shined his flashlight on the paper he was holding.

"We have to find a pen, a rubber band, an old book, a shoe, and a leaf." he read.

"Sounds easy enough." said Destiny.

"Let's spread out." declared Joshua.

And they started searching. Meanwhile, the Titanium Tigers were looking over their list.

"We gotta find a pencil, a sock, a thumbtack, a battery, and a quarter." read Magdalena.

"Hopefully we can find them without running into any ghosts." said Hayley.

"We're not gonna run into any ghosts." Conrad told her.

Then they started searching.

On the first floor Monica and Co-hostess Hailey were in front of some screens that showed different parts of the prison.

"There are the Platinum Eagles." informed Co-hostess Hailey.

They were searching around a room.

"Time to shake things up a little." Monica said.

She pressed a button, and things were about to get a little spooky.

"See anything yet?" asked Joshua.

"I'm looking." Madison informed.

As they looked, they heard something.

"What was that?" asked Zachary.

The sound was like foot steps walking around outside the room.

"It's probably just the other team. Let's keep looking." said Caleb.

"Hey, I found a rubber band." informed Yasmine.

"Nice work, Yasmine." complimented Destiny.

They then left the room, and moved onto another.

"Didn't get them." Co-hostess Hailey told Monica.

"They're not finished yet." Monica replied.

In another part of the prison the Titanium Tigers were searching a room.

"See anything on the list?" asked Magdalena.

"Nothing yet." informed Jaime.

Back up in the surveillance room, Monica moved a control stick around. As the Tigers kept looking, they saw a shadow move across the wall. Everyone froze.

"Did anyone else see that?" wondered Dixie.

Then they saw the shadow again.

"Okay, I'm not really a believer in the supernatural, but did we just see a ghost?" Benneth asked the camera.

The team flashed their flashlights around, looking for the shadow.

"I don't see anything." said Conrad.

"Let's keep looking." instructed Magdalena.

They slowly did, and managed to find a quarter. And they all quickly left the room.

"Looks like you rattled them a little." said Co-hostess Hailey.

"Yes, I did." Monica replied.

They both chuckled.

For the rest of the challenge, the teams searched for the objects in different rooms while Monica and Co-hostess Hailey used the effects to try and scare them. But even though they were getting a little scared and shaky, the teens continued to try and find the items on their lists.

"Attention teams, you have ten minutes left." Monica announced.

"We better find the rest of the stuff quick." said Caleb.

"What else do we need?" wondered Madison.

Joshua checked the list.

"We need to find a shoe." he informed.

"It's gonna be hard finding one in a place that's been closed for years." mentioned Destiny.

"Let's spread out." suggested Yasmine.

And they each went in a different way. The Titanium Tigers also split up to find their last item, which was a battery. Monica and Co-hostess Hailey found this a great way to really scare the contestants.

They used shadows, lights, and sounds to make them jump, startle them, and creep them out.

"Okay, Zachary, just try and find a shoe, then I can get out of here." Zachary told herself.

He looked around the room she was in, and managed to find a shoe.

"Bingo." he said, grabbing it.

As he was leaving, she was suddenly came face to face with someone. Except it wasn't one of her teammates, a member of the other team, or Monica or Co-hostess Hailey.

It was an older man, wearing an old fashioned prison uniform, and he was completely transparent. Completely caught off guard, he shrieked and dropped the shoe. he shut his eyes, and then opened them, the man was gone.

"Zachary, are you okay?" asked Yasmine, coming into the room.

"I just saw...a man...see through..." Zachary stuttered.

"It's okay, it was just one of the special effects. Come on." Yasmine urged.

He got the shoe, and followed Yasmine out.

"Attention, contestants time is now up. Race to the place where we came in, first team there is the winner." Monica announced.

"Quick, which way is it?" asked Magdalena.

"I think it's this way." suggested Conrad, pointing to the right.

And the Titanium Tigers hurried that way. The Platinum Eagles were confused on which way the entrance was.

"Let's try this way." Destiny told, pointing left.

"Let's go." declared Madison.

Each team rushed down their respective ways. It was a bit difficult finding their way back using only flashlights. Destiny decided to try and lead them, but they kept getting a little turned around.

"Destiny, are you sure you know the way back?" asked Joshua.

She looked around, and urged them to go another way.

"I'm really not sure, but I have a feeling where the entrance is." Destiny confessed.

Monica and Co-hostess Hailey stood at the entrance, waiting for the teams. Just then they heard footsteps approaching from both sides.

"Here they come, who'll be the first team?" Monica announced.

It was neck in neck, but the Titanium Tigers got to it first.

"And the winners are the Titanium Tigers." Co-hostess Hailey cheered.

The Titanium Tigers cheered happily while the Platinum Eagles groaned.

"Platinum Eagles I'll see you at the elimination ceremony, Titanium Tigers for your prize you'll get a brunch buffet in the morning." Monica told them.

And with that, they left the prison, and got back on the boat.

"You know you guys really went all out with that hologram." Zachary told Monica and Co-hostess Hailey.

"What hologram?" wondered Co-hostess Hailey.

"The hologram of the ghost prisoner." Zachary clarified.

The two hostesses looked at each other.

"Zachary...we...didn't use any holograms." Monica explained.

That made Zachary freeze, if that wasn't a hologram could it have been...?

Back at the lot, the Platinum Eagles cast their votes, and went to the elimination ceremony.

"All right Eagles. You've cast your votes, and now it's time to see who's staying and who's leaving." Monica told them.

"I know exactly who's going home tonight." Caleb told the camera.

"When I call your name come get your tiki charm. Joshua." He got up, and got his.

"Madison. Caleb. Yasmine."

It was now down between Zachary and Destiny.

"And the final tiki charm goes to..."

Destiny and Caleb looked at each other.

"Zachary."

"Yes." Zachary whispered, getting up.

"Aww." groaned Destiny.

"Sorry Destiny, it's time to go." Monica told her.

"I tried my best." Destiny told her former team, and she left.

"And there goes another member of the Platinum Eagles. Who'll be next? Find out next time on Totally Epic." Monica announced.
