My hearing was extra sensitive, I could hear every person's heart beating around me. But other than that I felt back to normal. Well, werewolf normal. I honestly wasn't upset with them for doing it though. They had saved my life.

"Something wrong?" Derek asked. Noticing that I had gone quiet. We were laying on my bed watching a movie off his computer. I was only half paying attention to it.

I thought back to the core of my depression, the sentence that made me want to sob if it was said out loud, "I"m the reason my aunt is dead."

"Chloe," Derek pulled me closer, seeing how I was on the brink of tears. "I think I can guarantee that she isn't dead. If we could get away, so could she."

"Why hasn't she tried to find me yet then?"

Derek shrugged, "She probably knows you hate her and is giving you time to cool off. Or she doesn't think you would face us non-werewolf so she thinks you are somewhere else."

"Non-werewolf?" I repeated back.

"Well, yeah, I can't say human cause you still have your necromancy powers; so non-werewolf."

I rolled my eyes.

"Can I do something I've really missed?" Derek asked me.

"Uh, sure," I didn't know what it was.

Derek put his fingers under my chin and gently lifted my head. He leaned in and kissed me. I heard his heart pick up a little. He had wanted to do this for a long time but was scared when I lost my werewolf gene. Derek's hand snaked to my lower back and he held me there, kissing me for as long as he could. Derek tried to hide the smile on his face as he pulled back to breathe.

"I've really missed you," he said. "For the first time, I feel like I've really got you back. I know that's selfish of me to say but I don't need to be extra cautious around you anymore and all that."

"Its not selfish," I told him. "I missed it too."

Derek kissed me again, "It's conflicting. I'll never forgive myself for doing that to you." His index finger lightly traced the scars on my neck. "But I'm happy to still have you here with me."

"It's conflicting to have someone you love take so much away from you too," I said, thinking back to Aunt Lauren again.

"I'm so sorry you went through that," Derek apologized. "I was working day and night to find you. I wish I could have come sooner."

"It's not your fault," I said. "I don't blame any of you for what happened. Who could have seen that coming?"

Derek sighed, "I for sure didn't or else I would never have left you alone with her."

My stomach rumbled.

"Hungry?" Derek asked.

I shook my head, "No."

"Chloe," Derek rolled his eyes. "I heard-"

My hand went to my stomach, it wasn't that I was hungry. There was a small pain in the pit of my stomach.

"I'm fine," I interrupted him.

Derek has gotten good at seeing right through me though.

"What's going on?"

"My stomach just hurts, not that big of a deal," I said.

Derek sat up, "Chloe, you've been through hell and back more times than I can count. You changed species how many times in a matter of days? If something hurts, we need to take it seriously."

I really believed it was just a stomachache but Derek had a point that I should be cautious until we knew where I really was at.

"Thank you for agreeing with me," Derek said.

I glanced at him confused, "What?"

I hadn't said it out loud that he was right but he knew.

"Did you not say that I had a point?" Derek asked, thinking I was messing with him.

"Not out loud," I shook my head.

Crazy coincidence maybe?
