Hey everyone,
First off, my apologies, I have been saying this story takes place in season 5 when it is actually season 6. Next, I just want to thank y'all for reading and reviewing this story. I'd like to do some clarifying for y'all in regards to characters and relationships.
Nathan Grant: Nathan was first stationed in Hamilton where his sister Colleen lived with her daughter Allison and husband (un-named because he will not appear in this story). He was transferred to Coal Valley at the request of William Thatcher where he met Elizabeth Thatcher and married her after a year of courtship. His death occurs three years later after being called into service to help support the transfer of a large gold shipment passing near Hope Valley. His death came about after an ambush that took his life as well as the life of Constable Doug Burke.
Allison "Allie" Grant: The neice of Nathan Grant and the step-neice of Elizabeth Thatcher. Allison has not seen her uncle Nathan since he left Hamilton for Coal Valley. Her father, who abandoned her and her mother, was absent for the majority of her childhood. The last time she saw her father was when Constable Jack Thornton arrested her father theft and attempted murder after witnessing him, in a drunken rage, attempting to take the life of Colleen. Jack Thornton became the father figure in her life and was soon dubbed "Uncle Jack" by Allie, having never really had a chance to know her biological uncle, Nathan Grant.
Cody Hastings/Stanton: Cody Hastings came into the life of Abigail Stanton one year after the arrival of Elizabeth Thatcher. For the first fourteen years of his life he lived alone with his older sister Becky (two years older than Cody) on the other side of the mountain. He would spend his early days climbing all over the mountain until the influenza took the life of his mother and father. After that he and Becky began the long trek over the mountain to Coal Valley, but a broken leg prevented Becky from going any farther, sending Cody on his own into Coal Valley to find help. He returned with Constable Nathan Grant to find Becky the worse for ware, but alive. At the time the company doctor was still in town, but did not have the proper equipment to help Becky make a full recovery, requiring her to be sent to the nearest city, Hamilton, for proper medical treatment. Upon her return, Abigail Stanton adopted both Cody and Becky. Becky is now married to a doctor and living in Hamilton where she is the mother of two.
Cody and Allie: Although outgoing and self assured, Allison Grant becomes a mess whenever Cody Stanton comes around. This worsened upon finding out that Nathan Grant was the Constable for Hope Valley until his death, and just as soon the young man she likes very much is in the infirmary due to her carelessness which lowers her confidence a little, but does not damage her inner spirit and fire. Cody likes Allie very much and gets embarrassed when Lee asks about her, not ready to confront his feelings. He resists his feelings for her at first, but can't help himself whenever she is around (hence the picnic basket with lunch for her and Fiona). He knows one day she will leave Hope Valley and doesn't want to have his heart broken when she does.
Jack and Elizabeth: What can be said for these two except that they are meant to be. the heart of WCTH has always been the love story between a Mountie and a school teacher. Elizabeth has moved to a place where her heart is ready to be open again and she wants to be with Jack, but worries about wether or not it is too soon. While there is still roads to travel, you can be sure that Jackabeth will walk them together.
