Chapter 9: Pie Day

"Last time on Totally Epic, the contestant navigated a maze filled with creepy crawly surprises. In the end it was Zachary that ended up coming in last, and going home. Who'll be going home next and who'll win? Find out now on Totally Epic!" Monica announced.

All the contestants were standing in front of the mess hall, waiting for Monica and Co-hostess Hailey.

"I wonder what we're doing this time." thought Joshua.

"I hope it doesn't involve bugs again. I had to take two showers to make sure there weren't any beetles in my hair." said Yasmine.

Then Monica came up to them.

"Good morning everyone, and Happy Pi Day." she greeted.

"Pi Day, what's that?" asked Caleb.

"Today is March 14th, aka it's three fourteen."

"Oh, I see. Three fourteen, the same equation for pi." said Hayley.

"Exactly Hayley, which why in honor of the day, we have a pie themed challenge."

"I hope it's a pie eating contest." hoped Dixie.

Just then, Co-hostess Hailey came into sight pushing a large cart filled with pies.

"For today's challenge you'll be having a pie fight in the woods near the set."

"Sounds like fun." said Magdalena.

"But these aren't ordinary pies, they're filled with surprises." Co-hostess Hailey informed.

"What kind of surprises?" wondered Conrad warily.

"Ah, now that would be telling."

"Here's how the challenge works," Monica started.

"Each of you will get five pies, and you'll have to try and hit each other. Whoever can survive without getting hit and uses all their pies wins immunity and a prize of a brand new laptop. The one to get hit with the most pies or doesn't use them all goes home."

It sounded simple enough. Co-hostess Hailey then gave each contestant five pies.

"All right, now the challenge starts...now!"

And she blew a small air horn. And the kids hurried off into the woods. Once they were there, they split up.

"This challenge is so mine." Caleb told the camera. "These kinds of game are all about strategy and I know how to strategize."

Hayley looked around, with a pie ready.

"Now, where is someone?"

She heard a rustle from another spot, and looked. She spotted Joshua hiding in a bush a couple feet away.

"Target acquired."

She took one of her pies, and then threw it at him. And the pie hit him right on the back.

"What the...?"

"Got you!" Hayley yelled, and ran off.

"You've gotta be kidding me." Joshua took the pie tin off his back, and realized on his back was tuna fish.

"Monica was right, these pies are filled with surprises."

"(Giggles), this pie fight is fun. Kinda like the pie fights you see on TV." Hayley confessed.

Caleb was doing some sneaking around, looking for a target. Then he heard someone coming towards him; thinking quickly he hid behind a tree. Slowly peeking out he saw Magdalena coming towards him.

He got a pie ready, and when she was close enough, he jumped out and threw it at her. Magdalena yelled as the pie hit her right in the face.

"What flavor did you get, Magdalena?" he asked.

After pulling the tin off her face, and licking her lips, she gagged.

"Gross, sour cream. You're gonna pay for that."

"You'll have to try and catch me first."

And with that, Caleb quickly ran off. Magdalena tried to throw a pie at him, but she missed and ended up hitting a tree.

"Drat." she complained.

"Just like I planned. I found a good hiding spot, waited patiently, and when it was time to retreat I did, while making sure to dodge." explained Caleb.

"I can't believe I missed. I'm never gonna with the challenge this way." Magdalena complained. "I gotta pick things up."

Conrad was sneaking around the woods, looking for any targets.

"Come on, where is everyone?" he thought.

Suddenly, he felt something hit him on the side of his face.

"Wha...?"

He'd been hit with a pie that was filled with mayo.

"Bullseye!" shouted a voice.

He looked and saw that it was Dixie who'd got him.

"Well taste this, Dixie!"

He threw a pie at her but she managed to dodge it, and the pie hit the a bush. It turns out that, that pie had been filled with cottage cheese. Yasmine was looking around for a target to hit.

"Come on, there must be someone to hit."

She scanned her surroundings, until she found someone, it was Hayley. She aimed, and then threw a pie. And it hit Hayley right on her leg.

"Aw man."

She removed the pie tin and saw the pie had been filled with mustard. For the challenge the teens kept trying to pelt each other with pies. Some were able to dodge, others got hit, and unfortunately some missed.

Then another blow horn sound filled the air.

"All right contestants, time to meet up and see who wins." Monica announced.

Everyone came out the woods, some covered in more stains than others. And a few still had pies.

"Hmm let's take a look see." said Co-hostess Hailey.

They looked them over, and had them turn around to fully check them. Caleb was the only one who didn't have any stains and wasn't carrying any pies.

"It looks like we have our winner." observed Monica.

"Congratulations, Caleb."

"Yes!" he cheered.

As for the rest of teens they looked nervous.

"I still had two pies left, I hope I'm not going home." hoped Yasmine.

"I don't think I'm getting kicked off. Sure I got hit a few times, but I used all my pies." Joshua told.

"This bites. I got hit a lot, and I didn't get a chance to use all my pies." complained Conrad.

At the elimination ceremony that night, all the contestants sat on their spots.

"All right everyone, time for the ceremony to begin." Monica announced.

They all paid close attention.

"Joshua."

He got up, and got a tiki charm.

"Hayley."

"Magdalena."

"Dixie."

It was now down to Yasmine and Conrad.

"And now the final tiki charm goes to..."

Conrad and Yasmine looked at each other.

"...Yasmine."

"Yes." Yasmine cheered.

"Here you go, Yasmine. Conrad you seem to have gotten hit with the most pies, and you still had three pies left. So you're out." said Monica.

"I knew it." he sighed.

"Bye, Conrad." said Dixie.

"You did good though." added Joshua.

"Thanks, guys." he told the other.

And with that Conrad got his things and left.

"And there goes another contestant. Who'll leave next? Find out next time on Totally Epic!" Monica said to the audience.
