Chapter 10: Who's Afraid
"Previously, on Totally Epic; for Pi Day the contestants competed in a good old fashioned pie fight. Though they weren't ordinary pies. In the end Conrad ended up going home due to getting hit with the most pies and not using all the pies he was given.
We're now down to the final six. Getting close to the end. Who'll be victorious and who'll be next to go? Find out now, on Totally Epic!" Monica announced.
It was evening and the teens were just leaving the mess hall.
"That was a good dinner." said Hayley.
"Yeah, Shepard's pie and chicken pot pie for dinner." added Caleb.
"And apple, peach, and blueberry pie for dessert." mentioned Dixie.
"I could get used to this Pi Day." replied Joshua.
"I wonder what our next challenge will be?" thought Yasmine.
"It'll probably be something good." Magdalena pointed out.
After changing into their jammies and brushing their teeth, everyone went to bed.
The next morning they all woke up, got dressed, and went to the mess hall for breakfast. Then Monica and Co-hostess Hailey walked inside. "Good morning contestants." Monica greeted. "We're now in the final six, congratulations to you all."
"You've made it this far, conquering many challenges." added Co-hostess Hailey.
"The final six. Awesome!" Joshua said to the camera.
"I can't believe I actually made it to the final six. This is so exciting." squealed Yasmine.
"I didn't think I'd get this far in the competition; but I'm glad I did." Caleb confessed.
"Final six, yes!" cheered Magdalena.
"I knew I could get this far in the race. I just need to keep on being me." explained Dixie.
"This is really amazing. I wonder if I'll go even further?" wondered Hayley.
"Today's challenge starts after breakfast. When you finish eating, meet at the clearing." Monica instructed.
And she and Co-hostess Hailey left the mess hall.
"I wonder what we're doing this time?" thought Hayley.
"We'll find out soon enough." replied Dixie.
After everyone was finished eating, they went to the clearing. To their surprise there were chairs and a big screen.
"We're gonna watch movies?" asked Magdalena.
"Yes, but not just any movies." said Monica stepping out.
Co-hostess Hailey stepped out carrying a stack of DVDs.
"This challenge is a two part-er. First is a movie marathon featuring horror movies." Yasmine got a bit nervous.
"This can't be happening. I absolutely hate scary things." Yasmine confessed.
"How long is this marathon going to be?" asked Caleb.
"All day. But not to worry, you're allowed bathroom breaks and refreshments will be served."
"Sounds simple enough." replied Joshua.
"Then take your seats, while we get the first movie set up." Monica instructed.
And with that the teens got into the seats, and started watching the movies. They watched all the popular horror movies such as, "I Know What You Did Last Semester", "All Hallows Eve", "Squeal", "Kid's Play", and "Camp Horror".
Some of the teens were intrigued by what they saw; others were freaked out, and Yasmine had covered her eyes a lot. By the time they watched their last movie, the sun was beginning to go down.
"Whoa, those were some good movies." said Magdalena.
"Yeah." agreed Caleb.
"I'm just glad they're over." Yasmine piped up.
"It's okay, Yasmine." comforted Joshua.
"Besides, they're just movies." added Dixie.
"I wonder what the next part of the challenge is?" wondered Hayley.
"Glad you asked, Hayley." said Monica coming towards them.
"It's now time for the second part of your challenge. Follow me."
She led them to the woods where Co-hostess Hailey was waiting for them.
"We've prepared a little ghost walk for you."
"Ghost walk? (Scoffs), like they do for kids at Halloween festivals?" asked Magdalena.
"Yes, but this certainly isn't for kids." Co-hostess Hailey told her.
"She's right. This ghost walk has realistic scenes from the movie that you'll be walking into. There are different paths you can take, but each one is equally terrifying. To win you have to get through the whole ghost walk. If you get too scared all you have to say is "I'm scared", and you'll be escorted out by one of the interns, but it could cause you to be eliminated." Monica explained.
The teens looked at each other and at the entrance to the ghost walk.
"I can't believe it. A ghost walk?" groaned Yasmine.
"And your challenge begins, now." Monica declared.
And with that the contestants went into the entrance to the ghost walk.
"This is going to be interesting." said Joshua.
"And creepy." added Hayley.
Then they came to the different paths.
"Looks like this is where we split up. Let's do this." declared Caleb.
And with that they each went down a different way, though Yasmine was last to pick one.
"(Sighs), here we go."
And she went down one.
"And there go our contestants. Who will get through all the way, and who'll be scared stiff? Find out when we come back to Toally Epic!" Monica announced to the crowd.
Magdalena was walking down a path that was getting darker by the second.
"I wonder what movie this is based off of?" she thought.
As she walked she heard rustling behind her. She looked behind her, but there was no one there. So she walked on; but then she got that eerie feeling. Then she saw something around the corner of her eye.
It looked like a man wearing a one piece black suit, wearing a black mask, and holding a knife. It was then she realized she was on the path that was based on "All Hallows Eve".
"Oh boy." she whispered.
In Joshua's path his was based on "Kid's Play". There were many creepy looking toys lying around.
"Man, I can't believe some kids actually enjoy playing with these things." he observed.
As he walked on he heard a small voice.
"Hi, Joshua." it rasped.
He quickly turned, and saw a creepy looking boy doll holding a cleaver.
"You've gotta be kidding me."
Yasmine walked on, slowly shaking.
"Oh, maybe the movie that's based on this path is one of those not so scary ones." she hoped.
But little did she know, she was on the path that was based on "Squeal". Just then there was a loud scream! That scared Yasmine so much, she ran on.
Dixie was walking along, seeming doing fine.
"I wonder which movie this path's based on." she wondered.
As she walked on, she saw the scene was changing to that of a school hallway.
"Looks like "I Know What You did Last Semester"."
Then she heard footsteps behind her. She slowly turned around, and saw a scary looking man in a janitor's uniform looking at her.
"And here's when I run." And with that she took off.
Caleb's path was based off the movie "Camp Horror".
"Well maybe I won't run into the villain."
The villain of the movie was a masked escaped mental patient. But little did he know the "villain" was sneaking up behind him.
And Hayley was on a path based on the movie, "Slashing Chains".
"Whatever you're going to throw at me just try it. I still have my martial arts skills."
Then she came face to face with a chainsaw wielding madman.
"Oh boy. Here we go." she said, taking a fighting stance.
All the contestants tried to get to the end of the ghost walk. It was incredibly scary for all of them. Magdalena ran like crazy from the man with the knife. Joshua kicked the doll, and tried to avoid getting hurt by it.
Yasmine was screaming and running like crazy, even when the killer wasn't chasing her. Dixie screamed in terror as the crazy janitor tried to attack her. Caleb was running from the escaped lunatic like crazy, and Hayley was fighting off the madman.
"Where's the exit? Where's the exit?" Yasmine cried.
She quickly ducked behind a tree. She waited for the killer to pass, she slowly came out from her hiding spot.
"(Sighs) Now to get out of here."
Joshua was fighting off the evil doll.
"Get away you stupid thing." he snapped.
He kicked the doll away, and ran off. Hayley kept fighting her villain, but this guy was strong. He managed to pin her against a tree. He was about to strike her, when she shouted,
"I'M SCARED!"
Just like that, the madman stopped. Then an intern came up to her.
"Come on, I'll show you the way out." he told her.
"Oh man, I hope I'm not going home." Hayley hoped.
With Caleb, he was running off from the mental patient. Thinking quickly he stopped in his tracks, and the patient crashed into him. Once he fell back, Caleb took off. Dixie managed to give the janitor the slip, and continued on.
"This challenge is so mine." she told herself.
Magdalena managed to get away from the man with the knife.
"That was close."
But as she tried to go forward the man appeared in front of her. She shrieked in terror.
"Okay, now I'm really scared!"
And with that, the man stopped and an intern came to help her.
"Oh man." she complained.
Monica and Co-hostess Hailey were waiting at the end of the ghost walk.
"I hope the effects wasn't too much for them." thought Co-hostess Hailey.
"Don't worry, everything in there are just robots and special effects." Monica assured.
Then they heard footsteps approaching.
"And here they come."
The first one to come bursting through was Yasmine.
"I'm safe, I'm safe." she gasped.
"Yes, you are cause you're the first one out." Monica informed.
"Huh? I won the challenge?"
"Yep." answered Co-hostess Hailey.
"Awesome!"
One by one the other contestants came out. Magdalena and Hayley came with their intern guides, then Joshua, Dixie, and Caleb.
"All right, Yasmine is our winner, so she gets immunity. I'll see you all at the elimination ceremony."
At the ceremony, everyone cast their votes and sat in their spots.
"All right, everyone the votes have been counted so let's get to it." Monica started.
"Joshua, Dixie, Caleb."
After they got their tiki charms, it was done to Madgalena and Hayley.
"And now...the final tiki charm goes to..."
Hayley and Magdalena looked at each other nervously.
"Hayley."
"(Whew), sorry Magdalena." Hayley said, getting her tiki charm.
"Aw man." Magdalena replied.
"Sorry, Magdalena time for you to go." Monica told her.
"Right."
"We enjoyed hanging out with you." Dixie mentioned.
"Yeah, nice meeting you." added Joshua.
Magdalena smiled at hearing that, and went to leave.
"And there goes another contestant. Who'll be next to leave? Find out next time on Totally Epic." announced Monica to the crowd.
