Chapter 11: Truth or Dare

"Last time on Totally Epic, the teens watched a bunch of scary horror movies and then had to go on a realistic and scary ghost walk. Yasmine won immunity and in the end it was Magdalena who was voted off. The numbers are dwindling down, who'll leave next and who's a step closer to winning? Find out now on Totally Epic!" Monica announced.

The following morning, the teens were eating breakfast.

"It's getting close to the end." mentioned Joshua.

"I know, it's exciting and terrifying at the same time." Hayley said.

"Any one of us could win." piped up Caleb.

"I wonder who it will be?" thought Dixie.

"It could be any of us." said Yasmine.

"I can't believe I won the challenge the other day." Yasmine told to the camera.

"I guess if I can face scary things I could win."

Then Monica came into the mess hall.

"Good morning contestants. First let me just say congratulations for making it to the final five. When you're finished report outside."

And then she left. Once everyone finished eating they met up in a makeshift stand.

"All right, everyone, it's time for an old favorite, a classic, but certainly not an oldie. It's time for a game of...Truth or Dare." Monica told everyone.

Co-hostess Hailey then appeared rolling a small portable table with a large soda bottle on it.

"Truth or dare?" asked Caleb.

"This is going to be a piece of cake." he confessed.

"Yes, and here's what makes it fun." Co-hostess Hailey informed.

"The truths and dares have been submitted by fans watching the show. And after having the interns go over them, there are lots of crazy things written." Monica replied.

Everyone looked at each other nervously. "Here's how it'll work. The bottle will be spun, and if it lands on you you'll get the choice of a dare or you have to tell the truth to answer a question. If you complete the dare or tell the truth you'll get a point, you can refuse but it'll cost you a point. Whoever gets the most points at the end wins, this'll take about two hours."

"I've never played truth or dare before." Hayley said.

"But I've heard about it and seen it on TV. So I think I can do this."

"All right, Hailey, give the bottle a spin." Monica told.

Co-hostess Hailey spun the bottle, and it landed on Joshua.

"Okay, Joshua here are your choices. For a dare you can either drink an entire jug of pickle juice, or for truth you can about a really embarrassing time in your life."

"I'll take the pickle juice." Joshua said to her.

"Okay then, bring it out Hailey."

And with that, Co-hostess Hailey gave him a large jug full of pickle juice. And with that he chugged it down.

"Done." he said, putting the empty jug down.

"And Joshua gains the first point." Monica said.

"How'd that taste, Joshua?" asked Yasmine.

"It didn't taste that bad." he told her.

"Next." Monica announced.

Co-hostess Hailey spun it again, and it landed on Dixie.

"Dixie for your choices for truth you can either confess a time you did something really bad or for dare you have to pet a rattlesnake."

"Hmm, I'll take the truth." Dixie replied.

"Okay, let's here it then."

"Well, when I was a kid, I lured my neighbor's cat into a raccoon trap with tuna fish."

Everyone looked at her with weird looks.

"What, I don't like cats."

"Okay, and for telling the truth you gain a point. Let's spin it again."

Co-hostess Hailey spun it, and it landed on Hayley.

"Okay Hayley, for a dare you can spend one whole minute in an ice bath or for truth you can share an embarrassing moment in your life."

"I'll take the dare." Hayley replied.

"Then come on up."

She and did, and Co-hostess Hailey brought up a large metal tub filled with ice cubes.

"In you go." Co-hostess Hailey, encouraged.

Hayley took a deep breath, and jumped into the tub. It was cold, freezing, and not very comfortable.

"And 1 minute starts now." said Monica, starting her stopwatch.

Hayley shivered and she teeth chattered.

Time's up."

And with that, Hayley jumped out of the tub.

"And a point goes to Hayley."

"T-t-that ice bath wasn't s-so bad. I've had to get in them whenever I did a long workout at home." said Hayley.

Co-hostess Hailey spun the bottle again, and it landed on Caleb.

"Okay for truth you can tell us if you've ever been a bed wetter or for a dare you can eat one of the world's spiciest peppers.

"I'll take the truth. I can truthfully say that I've never been a bed wetter."

"And for telling the truth, you earn a point."

And so the game went on. Some got some crazy dares. Joshua had to get sprayed by a skunk, Dixie had to pet a porcupine, Yasmine was dared to eat a twinkie that was five-years-old, Caleb hit himself in the face with boxing gloves, and Hayley was dared to lick the bathroom floor.

For truths, Hayley had to confess she'd never lived like a normal teenager before. Caleb had to admit he when he was a kid his older sister dressed him up like a doll. Yasmine had to confess that her biggest dream would be to be a famous singer.

Dixie's truth question was "had she ever been arrested?" Luckily she was able to say no. And Joshua's question was "had he ever been in trouble by his parents?" That he confessed to. Of course some of them did lose some points.

Joshua refused to run around naked as a dare or tell about a dream he had. Yasmine didn't want to eat a live worm or admit a really embarrassing moment. Caleb declined to drink hot sauce as a dare or say whether or not he ever snuck out against his parents' wishes as a truth.

Dixie didn't want to let tarantulas crawl on her or admit something she as ashamed of. And Hayley refused to eat grubs or give a truthful answer about whether or not she had thoughts of running away from home.

This kept going on, and when it came down to the final five minutes.

"Well guys time is running out, every point counts now. And now taking the truth or dare points will be doubled, but if you refuse you lose double points." Monica informed.

"Looks like it's about to get real now." Yasmine confessed.

"Oh boy, this is gonna be a tough one." sighed Caleb.

Co-hostess Hailey spun the bottle, and it landed on Hayley.

"Okay, Hayley. For truth you can admit something silly you believed as a kid or for dare you can eat an entire raw onion." Monica read from a card.

"I'll take the onion." Hayley replied.

Co-hostess Hailey brought out an onion, and gave it to her. Haley then took a big bite and chewed it up. Her eyes watered and she had a look of disgust on her face. But she continued eating it.

Eventually she finished it.

"And Hayley gets double points." Monica declared.

"Hooray." Hayley replied weakly.

"Didn't that taste bad?" Dixie asked.

"Yes, it did." Co-hostess Hailey spun the bottle, and it landed on Joshua.

He had the choice of sticking his hand in a tank full of crabs or telling about a teacher he absolutely hates. Joshua tool the truth, and admitted that he hated his literature teacher. He found him sour and a complete grouch.

"I hope what I just said doesn't impact my final grade in that class." Joshua hoped.

"And two points go to Joshua. Next." Monica said.

The bottle spun again, and landed on Yasmine.

"Okay Yasmine, you can either let these tarantulas crawl on you for a dare or you can tell about a really weird dream you remember."

"(Sighs), bring on the spiders." Yasmine replied.

"You got it."

With that Co-hostess Hailey brought out a fishbowl full of live tarantulas and one by one, she placed them on Yasmine's body. Feeling the spiders walking on her arms and shoulders made her skin crawl.

"Yasmine gains two points."

"Great. Now can you get these things off me now?" Yasmine wanted know.

And Co-hostess Hailey took the spiders off her. Once they were all gone, she breathed a sigh of relief. She spun the bottle again, and it was Caleb's turn.

"Caleb for truth you can admit a big secret to us, or for a dare you can stick your hand in a tank full of scorpions."

"I'll take the dare." Caleb told her.

"Then bring them out, Hailey."

Co-hostess Hailey rolled a tank full of scorpions up to Caleb. After taking a deep breathe, Caleb rolled up his sleeve, and stuck his hand into the tank. He felt them crawl on his hand, and even felt their stingers brush up against him.

"All right, Caleb you can take your hand out now." Monica informed.

And with that Caleb quickly pulled his hand out.

"And you gain two points."

"Whew." Caleb sighed, holding his hand.

"Are you okay, Caleb?" asked Yasmine.

"Oh sure, I'm fine. At least they didn't sting me." he replied.

Finally it was down to the last minute. Now it was down to Haley.

"Okay, Hayley. Here's the last one, for dare you can strip down and run around wild or truth you can tell about a time that was the hardest moment of your life." Monica read.

Hayley looked a bit nervous, she really didn't want to do either of those. But time was ticking and she had to make a choice.

"I choose...neither." she sighed.

"Then I'm afraid you lose two points." Monica told her.

And with that the timer went off.

"And that's the end of the challenge. Let's see what the points look like."

The point screen showed that Joshua had the most, Yasmine second, Caleb third, and Dixie fourth. Not surprisingly, Hayley had the least.

"Joshua you are the winner of this challenge congratulations."

"Awesome!" cheered Joshua.

"Hayley, I'm sorry but you gotta go."

"I know." Hayley replied.

That night Hayley got her stuff and was ready to go.

"Sorry, you're leaving, Hayley." Dixie told her.

"Yeah, you played a good game added." Caleb.

"It's fine. I had a really good time, I learned how to be a teenager, and that I'm not allergic to the stuff I thought I was. I'm gonna have to talk to my parents about that when I get back." Hayley replied.

She said goodbye, and then left.

"And there goes another contestant. Who'll be next to go? Find out next time on Totally Epic." Monica announced to the crowd.
