Chloe's POV
I imagined Liz and Kyle and pulled them towards us. I wondered where they had been all this time. Hopefully not out in limbo somewhere waiting on me, then I would feel bad for it being so long.
They appeared on the other side of the table.
"Hi," Liz smiled.
Sometimes I forget that others can't see them. I realized they were all watching me, waiting. Except Derek who was still trying to quiet my hunger by massaging my side lightly.
"They're here," I said.
Tori smiled at the idea of having her old friend back.
"Can she hear me or do you talk on my behalf?" She asked.
Liz rolled her eyes smiling, "I hear everything."
Kyle, who had been preoccupied with gazing around at his new surroundings, finally joined the conversation. He grinned seeing Simon.
"Ooo tell him I said hi!"
I chuckled.
"She can hear anything you say," I said to Tori. Then looked at Simon, "Kyle says hi. He's excited to see you again."
"How do you know Kyle?" Derek asked.
Simon shrugged, "I interrupted a conversation between him and Chloe once and I remember his name."
"He's the only one who does!" Kyle said.
"So do I," I reminded Kyle.
"Liz," Tori said to the general direction that I've been looking in. "I'd love to catch up with you. If I got some pen and paper, would you like to talk?"
We were all a little surprised by Tori wanting to have a private conversation. She was usually the one for showing off whatever she was up to.
Liz looked at me and nodded, "Catching up with her would be nice."
I relayed back to Tori, "She said that would be nice."
Tori stood, "Liz and I will be up in my room then."
She walked inside with her laptop. Liz smiled at me before following her inside. I wondered what they would be talking about but it wasn't my business I guess. Kyle sat down in Tori's seat. He gave me a weird look as my stomach decided to growl again.
"Why don't you eat something?" He asked. "You sound like you are starving to death."
"I am," I said. "But I can't."
Simon listened to me, trying to piece together what I was talking about. Hearing only half the conversation was probably annoying.
"Why can't you?" Kyle asked.
I shrugged, "Its difficult to explain. You guys have missed a lot since we last saw you."
Dang, I tried to be vague to keep the conversation between Kyle and myself. But that gave away to Simon what the topic was.
"Talking about your vampire traits?" Simon asked.
I looked down, not wanting to see Kyle's reaction.
"Can I offer an unpopular opinion?" Simon asked.
Derek looked up, curious. I nodded but kept my gaze down.
"The only way to get rid of the hunger is to satisfy it."
A low growl rumbled through Derek's chest.
"She is not drinking more blood."
"Isn't it kind of Chloe's choice?" Kyle butt in even though no one else could hear him.
"You have to see the logic though," Simon said. "She can satisfy the hunger; or she can go insane or starve to death. We don't know what will happen if she tries to ignore it forever. Its better safe than sorry. Until we can find a cure she should keep the hunger manageable."
I had to say that I saw the point he was making.
"And if there is no cure?" Derek growled. "She would just be giving into her vampire urges and instincts. Letting them take control and turn her into one of those creatures. Vampires aren't like werewolves, they are hell bent animalistic creatures not civilized beings."
Derek also had a good point. Oh god what do I do?
Jeremy appeared, coming up the stairs. He sat down in Kyle's chair. Kyle moved and sat on the table instead.
"Can I offer my two cents?"
Derek growled at him. "No."
Jeremy rolled his eyes, "Oh come on. All I was going to say was that its ultimately Chloe's decision. You can't make it for her."
"That's what I said!" Kyle jumped in. He looked over at me. "I like this guy, he cares about your input."
I chuckled, "You're probably the only one who does."
"Whys that?" Kyle asked curiously.
I was interrupted by Derek before I could answer him.
"Why is this funny?"
"Its not, it was something Kyle said."
"Kyle?" Jeremy asked looking around.
"Ghost," Simon explained. Simon looked at me. "What is your two cents on this Chloe? It is your body after all."
Jeremy muttered something under his breath about Simon copying him.
I shrugged, "Doesn't really seem up to me."
"But it is!" Kyle shouted.
"Because you know that it would be dangerous," Derek nodded.
I felt kind of cornered with this decision. I didn't think I would need to make it all of the sudden, I thought it was something I would have to decide down the road.
My heart rate picked up, which I'm sure Derek noticed.
"I uh have to go do uh something inside," I said and stood up. Rushing inside. Kyle followed me.
I ran to Tess, who had been talking to Kit, and hugged her like a child who had lost their mom.
"What is it sweetie?" She asked.
My face was buried in her shirt. I was trying to hold back tears. Kit knelt down behind me and set a hand on my shoulder.
"Is everything ok?" He asked.
"Everyone keeps making decisions for me," I said into Tess' shirt.
I could practically feel Kit get angry. He stood up abruptly and went straight outside to the boys.
Tess guided me to her bedroom to talk.
