A Few Days After Ahsoka 's Visit

Anakin was watching a pod race on the data pad that Ahsoka had sneaked into his room for him so that he wouldn't die of boredom, when suddenly there was a knock on the to his room and a female voice said " Anakin can I come in ? "

Anakin froze for a moment it was Padme he hadn't seen or spoken too her for 3 years not since Obi wan's death and he had... no he couldn't think about any of what happened back then, "Anakin?" " Yeah hang on a minute " Anakin called out as he paused the pod racing video and place the pad on the bed side cabinet, and then said a minute later okay you c...can come in now"he said now.

A moment later Padme open the door entered his hospital room and said " I hope that you don't mind me coming to visit you after..."she paused and looked at Anakin and she looked down , they had not been on good terms the last time that they had seen each other 3 years ago and she had said some terrible things to Anakin back then and he had every right to refuse to talk to her now and kick her out of his room after the things she had said to him after Obi wans death.

But she had been hurting too damn it Obi wan had been her friend too and Anakin had shut down and shut her, Ahsoka and Satine out when they had needed him ,the most he hadn't been the only one who had been hit hard by the loss of Obi wan she thought herself and she had told him as much the night they had broken up and decided that their relationship and marriage was over.

But dispite all of that Padme had been devastated by Anakin's sudden slip into a catatonic state 3 years ago shortly after their confrontation, so when Ahsoka had contacted her yesterday and told her that Anakin had come out of his catatonic state, Padme wasted no time contacting Bant to arrange to visit him today after all Anakin was still her friend and she wanted to see how he was doing.

"So to what do I owe this unexpected attention " Anakin asked her now as the silence between them was starting to freak him out, " Ahsoka told me that you were feeling better so I thought come see for myself how you were that's what friends do " Padme replied.

At this Anakin look at her and said " is that what we are friends? Padme ?" he asked her " yes of course we are " she replied, at this Anakin sighed and said " Padme we' ve been a lot things too each other but I don't think that we were ever friends not really " .

At this Padme stared at him and said softly " d...don't say that don't start pushing me away again l... like you did when Obi wan died he was my friend too!" Anakin closed his eyes for a moment and said " I know but your not the one who failed him Padme ! I am!"

" Anakin! It wasn't your fault it was Count Dooku ordered Hardeen to kill Obi wan there was nothing that you could do" Padme told ,At this Anakin shook his head sadly and said " you don't understand you weren't there Obi wan died because I wasn't quick enough to stop Hardeen! , It's all my fault Padme!"

On hearing this Padme shook her head sadly said " no it wasn't and if Obi wan was here he'd be the first one to tell you that Ani " she replied sadly Padme didn't know what else to say to him and Anakin started to Act strangely a few minutes later glancing towards the chair on the other side of his bed and not entirely listening to what she was saying, so she didn't stay much longer.

After Padme left the force ghost of his friend spoke up from where he had been sitting for the latter half of Anakin and Padme 's conversation and said " she was right Anakin what happened 3 years ago wasn't your folt , I knew the risk I was taking when I took that mission I knew what it could cost me if things went wrong and my cover was blown".

As Obi wan said this Anakin stared out of window avoiding eyes contact, with his ghostly best friend and shook his head and said " no it was my fault I should have been able to stop it from happening I' m supposed to be the chosen one after all".

Obi wan sighed sadly and said " Anakin being the chosen one doesn't make you all powerful or mean that you can stop death " at this Anakin turn turned to face him and Obi wan saw the anger and in loss the younger man's eyes as Anakin snapped " Then what is the point of me being the chosen one then Obi wan ! Because if being the chosen one means that I can't save the people that I love and care out , then I don't want to be the kriffing Chosen one anymore Obi wan!"

On hearing this the force ghost couldn't help but feel sorry for Anakin as the burden of being the one meant to bring balance to the force was one that Anakin had to bare alone and no one could change that how ever much they may want to the Force ghost thought sadly.

Then he replied softly" it doesn't work like that Anakin you know that" Anakin just glared at him.
