I don't own Kingdom Hearts or the Avengers. They each belong to Marvel, Disney, and Square Enix. Note: That's weird somehow a huge chunk of my first chapter vanished. So, sorry for the confusion. I have no idea how it even happened. So, I fixed it. Thankfully, I made a copy of this chapter, although it doesn't have my review responses. I'll put back the reviews to the way I recall writing them too.
Thank you for understanding.
Alright, and here's the official first chapter. The world in this chapter is the world that started it all in the Kingdom Hearts series. You know what I'm talking about so, let's take care of the reviews then we can begin the chapter.
the mysterious Mr.E: Oh, it will be. It will be.
NaruSaku fan in Kentucky: To answer your question, I'm going to say late 2010 to be safe, but none of the movies will be too recent so, you won't see any of the newer ones in this.
olehbilenko93: Thank you!
Guest: Thank you!
Monkey D. Conan: Oh, we're going to see lots of family fluff in this tale so don't you worry about that. It'll be enjoyable all the way through.
Maximum Rhapsody: No, nothing too crazy like that. He might get a little something extra in the later worlds, but otherwise, that's it.
edboy4926: Thanks, but we won't really be digging too much of that really. And Sora doesn't have Spider-Powers no will he ever. Not to mention, Ben Reilly happened in this timeline.
Sorry, it might not be 100% accurate of what I said last time, but I think it gets the general idea. Now, with that out of the way, let's start the first chapter...
Chapter 1: A boy named Sora
In the 31st Century, Kang's army waited for their leader's return from the past. There was currently a panic. A disruption in the timeline unlike any of them has seen before. It would be only a few hours at most before the timeshifted from the altered past. All of a sudden, Kang appeared in his Time Chair alone, back at the peak of his power, and ready for his next attempt to conquer the 21st century. Despite Scarlet Witch's attempt to keep him in the present, he was able to travel threw time despite the pain. He even managed to throw the two meddlesome hitchhikers off between the reaches of time and reality without any side effects... or at least, that's when he thought as he returned to his time.
He certainly didn't expect this much of a panic when he returned. Did something go wrong when traveling through time? Just then, one of his subordinates quickly ran up to him with a panicked look on his face, "What is going on? What happened while I was away?!"
"Sir, this been a massive shift in the space-time continuum," His goon answered, "Something happened in the 21st century that is altering the timeline."
"Impossible," Kang's eyes narrowed, "I was just there. I haven't done anything that would cause this big of an issue."
"It's true, Lord Kang," Another goon answered as he handed him the database, "See? Check it yourself."
Kang took it before quickly analyzing it and blinking in shock. They were telling the truth. He looked for any mistake or flaw in the calculations but found none. This shouldn't be possible. He took his counterparts' advice and returned to his timeline to prevent this from happening. He then looked back to his subordinates, "Did you find the source of the change?"
"That's the thing, sir," The first goon answered, "It happened the moment you returned to the chair and activate the coordinates to this time. Something with your chair malfunctioned and damaged the walls between the 21st century and the worlds outside of it."
Now, that really got Kang's attention, what could have happened that would damage the barriers between worlds as he traveled back to his home time. That's when it occurred to him, "The Witch! Wanda Maximoff's hex must have damaged the safety protocols when we traveled threw time and damaged the barriers!" Dang it, he shouldn't have risked traveling while the woman's powers struck his chair. It caused the very damage he was trying to prevent. Kang asked, "How bad is the damage?"
"Under normal circumstances, since the worlds are almost unaware of each other even in that era, would be an easy fix as they wouldn't understand what happened," The second goon answered, "But someone managed to take notice of this and has taken advantage of it along the Heartless to appear rough 10 years before they first appeared in that time."
If Kang's eyes could anymore wider, they fall right out of his skull, only one man in that era could possibly know about the shift of time and knowledge of the Heartless to do this much damage. Master Xehanort. Or very least a version of him. According to his research, Xehanort of that time had no memory of his past events aside from the path that had been etched in his heart. So, Xemnas or Ansem sound not have been around at that time, but one version, that could traverse forward through time to prepare his ultimate plan. And there was only one that could possibly stop him and he was only a child at that point in time He feared to ask this, "And what of Sora? What happened with Sora's time?"
They closed their eyes as if they knew Kang already knew the answer to that question. Kang groaned as he leaned back in his chair, "What have I done..." He closed his eyes as he prepared to ask, "How much time do we have to fix this?"
"Only a few hours at most," One goon answered.
Without wasting time, he checked the status of his Time Chair. When he got the results, they weren't good. When the Scarlet Witch's hex affected his chair as it traveled time, it had sustained heavy damage. He couldn't go back before he returned to his time to undo this. He could only go back to when it already happened. They could be fixed but it would take days and that was time they didn't have. In mere hours, time would shift to the new time. There would never be the 31st century. Nothing left to conquer because Xehanort had already won.
No... NO! He refused to believe that! Kang had mastered time! He knew there must be a way to fix this.
But in order to do so, he needed to think outside the box. If he could get to Sora before Xehanort does, bring him to a world that could protect him and fix the damages Xehanort will cause... it might be enough to fix it. He quickly ran through the simulations, he could make a breach that would allow a portal to appear that could take someone to the Islands just before the Seeker of Darkness could reach him, but he'd still need to be in his chair and it wouldn't have enough power to enter through himself. It would have to be someone in the timestream during the events that could reach...
His eyes widened. Spider-Man and the Scarlet Witch were also there. It was risky but... He quickly turned to his system's AI, "Damocles! Run a simulation! If I send the Avengers known as Scarlet Witch and Spider-Man to the Destiny Islands with the information of the situation could it be enough to fix the damage to the barriers?"
"Running simulation," Damocles began running an algorithm before a result appeared, "Simulation at 78.999999% chance of restoring the current timeline but there could be slight changes."
"Can't be any worse if Xehanort wins," Kang muttered to himself. He hated to turn to the Avengers of all people for help but there was no other option. Xehanort could not be allowed to succeed. Sora must become the hero he was supposed to be in order to stop him. He ordered his men, "Prepare to time-jump. Send me back right before I lost the Avengers within the timestream."
"Sir?" One goon questioned, "Even if you did tell them what's happening? What makes you think they'd believe you?"
"But offering something they cannot refuse to take," Kang answered with his eyes closed, "Now do as I say! NOW!" The goons quickly went to work as Kang prayed that it would be enough to work...
"Had you heard of the ancient Keyblade War?"
"Huh? Of course, I have."
"Long ago, Keyblade wielders waged a war over the ownership of light."
"Yeah, the Master's favorite story."
"I wonder what they planned on doing with Kingdom Hearts after... making it appear."
"Who knows? I don't get why anyone would initiate a war."
"So...you know the 'Lost Masters?'"
"Who?"
"They're the ones who started the Keyblade War."
"Never heard of 'em. Where'd you hear about that?"
"Or... they're the ones for whom the war started."
"I'm not following you."
"You can drop the facade."
"Facade?"
"'On that land shall darkness prevail and light expire.' A prospective Keyblade Master should know this."
"If you say so."
"The Gazing Eye sees the fate of the World. The future... it's already been written."
"Really? I'm not so sure about that. Besides, who's to say I can't change it? And maybe light will prevail."
"Pretty confident. But things aren't in your favor."
"Perhaps. But unlike darkness, there is more to light than meets the eye. You might be surprised."
"Oh, I hope so."
"Hey, hey," A familiar voice lightly shoved Wanda to wake her up, "Are you dead? Please don't be dead. I've got enough guilt on my conscience as it already is."
The Scarlet Witch groaned as she stirred out of unconsciousness opening her eyes slightly to see the masked vigilante Spider-Man staring down at her, "Spider-Man?"
"Phew! You're not dead," Spider-Man sighed in relief as he slowly backed away giving the woman some room.
She rubbed her hand as she pulled herself up on the sandy beach. Wait, beach? They were just in SWORD headquarters with the other Avengers to stop Kang. How'd they ended up on the beach? She took a good look at their surroundings, before realizing they weren't even in America anymore, she turned to Spider-Man, "An Island? How did we end up on an island?"
"Yeah, I was kinda hoping you had an answer to that," Spider-Man admitted as he gestured to his surroundings, "Last thing, I remember was trying to prevent Kang from escaping into the future which we happened to tag along with him."
The Destiny Islands
She then pulled out her Avengers ID card, "This is Scarlet Witch to the Avengers. Can anyone read me?" No response, "Anyone? Cap? Stark? Clint? Vision?"
"Yeah, that was the first thing I tried when I woke up," Spider-Man admitted showing his own ID card, "Same amount of luck as the rest of my life." He admitted, "Gotta say, this isn't how I thought our first team-up would go."
Wanda nodded as she picked herself off from the sand, brushing off her hair and her clothes as Spider-Man continued talking, "Anyways, we never really met before today so, hi, I'm..."
"Spider-Man. Yes," She admitted, "I read all about you from the Bugle."
Spider-Man seemed to blink under his mask, "Oh..." He then rubbed the back of his head, "So... do you don't believe everything you..."
"Relax, the rest of mutant-kind had received worse backlash in the past," She reassured him, "Captain America and Iron Man always had faith in you as well as the X-Men. That's good enough for me."
Spidey sighed in relief, "Oh, thank you..."
"So, since we dealing with Kang," She continued, "I guess the real question is where and when are we? We are dealing with a time traveler after all."
Spider-Man assumed, "Well, I can't say when are we without seeing the people of this time or you know, dinosaurs running around. I would guess this is Hawaii Islands... if they grew star-shaped fruit."
"Star-shaped fruit?" Wanda blinked before Spider-Man pointed to the fruit that washed up on the shore. Sure enough, there really was a star-shaped fruit. Nothing she had ever seen or read about before. She picked it up to observe it before turning to Spider-Man, "You wouldn't by any chance heard of a star-shaped fruit before?"
"Uh, no," Spider-Man shook his head, "I have a degree in chemical engineering, not planting. Besides, I don't recall it being a part of healthy food groups when I was younger."
Wanda nodded in agreement, "Neither have I. Guess we're going to need to look around for more answers."
"Right, I'll swing around to the other end of this island and see what I can find," Spider-Man nodded, "You can check this end and do the same."
The Scarlet Witch nodded as she tossed the fruit aside, "Alright. Guess it's all we can do. But if you run into trouble, use your Avengers ID card. We can still use it to contact each other."
"Right," Spidey nodded as he fired a web to trees above them, "See ya in a bit."
He then swang off to search for anything that could indicate where and when they are. Guess it was up to her to do the same. She then glanced back at the island. Upon looking back at her surroundings, it became apparent that the island may not be as deserted as they had first thought. There were several wooden structures around the island. Such as the small dock behind her and the shack that stood several feet from her.
Along with a wood bridge that connected to a small island. She then gazed up to the large tree off to her left, where she saw a makeshift treehouse built into the tree. It must mean that there are others here as well. That was good, she guessed, if they could find someone, they could answer both when and where they are. From there, they could find a way back home and prepare for whatever plans Kang has in store for them.
Hopefully, they could find someone friendly soon. She cuffed her hands together before starting calling out, "Hello?! Is there anyone there?"
But there was no answer. Only the sounds of the tides and the seagulls which flew overhead. Wanda made her way toward the waterfall.
"We don't mean any harm," she insisted, "My co-worker and I are a little lost."
There was a sudden wooden clank as she felt her foot hit something. She glanced down where she saw a toy sword laying over the sand. The Scarlet Witch knelt down and picked up a wooden toy sword in her hand. It must belong to a child. She glanced up at the treehouse above, scanning the high treetops.
"Please, we're not here to harm any of you." She insisted, "If you could take us to a parent or an adult..."
Just then, she heard something snap, causing her to turn to the source of the sound. A broken stick was stepped, just recently, as something small quickly retreated into the cave next to the waterfall, she quickly called out to them, "Wait! Hold on! I just want to talk!"
She quickly chased after the small individual, hoping she wasn't giving him the wrong impression...
This was not how Peter thought his day was going. It was just your ordinary standard life of Peter Parker. Get out of bed, call to check up on his Aunt May, start his morning patrol as Spider-Man, take a few selfies of himself to sell to the Daily Bugle, get yelled at his boss for not getting any incriminating evidence that Spider-Man was behind the crimes he stopped before getting paid minimum wage, go on afternoon patrol, stop the Shocker from robbing a bank. Normal stuff, well, normal for his strange and bizarre life.
Then, he gets a call from Captain America on his Avenger's ID card saying that Kang the Conqueror had broken out of his cell and somehow managed to regain his suit. What was he supposed to say to the First Avenger? No? Besides, he recalled how dangerous how Kang was, Tony had to recruit him as team leader of the 'New Avengers' in order to stop him.
While he was fine being just a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, maybe going along with this will make him a full-time member. It had to count for something, maybe even pay well. Well enough to quit the Bugle and pay back his Aunt May for raising him when his own parents couldn't. What could go wrong?
Apparently, getting sent God knows where and God knows when. The only friendly face was the newest full-time member of the Avengers. Now, he heard that she was beautiful but the stories didn't do justice. She was gorgeous. Although, getting stuck on an island with her after fighting a Time Conqueror wasn't exactly what he had in mind for their first team-up.
By the time, he reached the other end of the island where he blinked under his mask, "Woah! Check out the obstacle course!"
True enough, there was a whole obstacle course that every child wishes they could have. It even had its own zip line. A freaking zip line. Who even had the time to build all of this?
Well, at least that meant there were people here. Question is, where is everyone? This place should be packed with children at the very least. He gave the whole place a look over and couldn't find anyone. From what he could tell from the sun, where ever they were, it was midday, so unless it's a school day, there should be people here. If that was the cause, maybe they should check the neighbor island. It look like the whole town was over... Spider-Man's thoughts were put on hold when he spotted something out of place, "Hello? What do we have here?"
He leaped down to the sand and spotted a small round device too advanced for any technology that was around now. This had Kang's name written all over it. He slowly approached the device, "Well, Spider-Sense isn't going off so... it might not be dangerous. It could be a clue to find out what's going on here?"
He picked the device to examine it a bit more. Just then, his Avenger ID card went off, as he went to answer it, "Yo, Scarlet. I think I might have found something..."
"I think I may have found someone," She answered through the ID card, "Meet me back over here but don't do anything to freak them out. They seem a little shy."
"Right. Be right there," Spider-Man nodded before he webbed the device around his person like a shack. He then swung off to the other end of the island to find Wanda and the mystery person she had found. Maybe they could finally get some answers...
Wanda put away her Avengers card after reporting to Spider-Man that she had found someone. Seemed like he found something too, but it have to wait. She slowly approached the inside of the cave, going down on her knees, she didn't want to scare whoever was in there. She spoke with a very calm and gentle voice, "It's okay. Please, don't be afraid. I promise I'm not here to hurt you or anyone."
From the corner of the cave, a small figure peeked out and stared at Wanda's green eyes, "Are... are you one of the monsters?"
The voice sounded very young, but she was even more concerned by the term 'monsters.' She knew some humans viewed mutants as monsters, but she didn't feel like this was the case. Something else had scared this boy. It might've had something to do with Kang. She reassured the boy, "No, I'm not a monster. I am an Avenger."
The figure tilted his head as if they didn't ever hear of such a name. Wanda continued, "Please, come out. I only wish to talk. Nothing more."
Finally, the small figure slowly peered from behind the corner, gazing up at Wanda, curiously. She smiled down at the boy, tilting her head to them. As if to try and show the child that she was friendly. The child then emerged from around the corner, stepping into the light. They were then revealed to be a boy no older than five years old. He had spikey brown hair, big blue eyes, wearing a white shirt and red shorts, and brown sandals.
The boy gazed up at the Scarlet Witch, still seeming nervous. Those big blue eyes gazed up at her with a look of awe and fear. Even when met with Wanda's expression of awe, taken by how cute the boy was. She greeted him, "Hi, there."
The boy tilted his head at Wanda's choice of clothing, "That outfit... are you a superhero?"
Wanda chuckled lightly, "As a matter of fact, I am. My name's Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch."
She then waved around her hand showing off her mutant powers a little as the child stared in awe. She then asked, "Now then, what's your name?"
"I'm Sora," He answered excitedly as the fear vanished seeing that she was a for-real superhero.
"Well, it's very nice to meet you, Sora," The daughter of Magento smiled. She then asked him, "Now then, this might seem a little strange, but do you know where I am?"
"You're on the Destiny Islands," Sora revealed to her, "This is the play island where me and my friends like to play but the grownups won't let us come here on our own until we're older."
Destiny Islands? She had heard of many islands but that name seemed to be lost to her. She never even heard of Destiny Islands. She then asked, "Okay, now here's a stranger question still, what's today's date and year."
While very confused about that question, he told her the current date and year. Well, at least she now knew they were still in the present. But if that was the case, why haven't the other Avengers called back to her or Spider-Man's calls. Iron Man stated proudly that the ID card should work worldwide. Although, her thoughts turned concerned when she recalled that Sora mentioned something about monsters and that he wasn't allowed to be here on his own until he was older. Where were his parents?
"Sora," Wanda asked in concern, "Could you tell me what you're doing on the play island all by yourself?"
I was hiding from the monsters." Sora answered her.
"Monsters?" Wanda asked, curiously and concerned.
"We saw monsters last night," Sora insisted to her, "My dad took me here to hide while he went to get mom and my friends, Riku and Kairi. But he's been gone for so long, what's taken him so long?"
Wanda frowned in concern, something was definitely off. Did Kang return with another invasion? No, she and Spider-Man definitely would have seen and heard something by now. Something else was going on. She didn't like the sound of it? She then heard him ask, "Are you here to help us?"
His thoughts turned back to the boy, as she gave him a reassuring smile, "We were originally here to chase a very bad man but we most certainly help." This seemed to work as she offered him her hand, "Come, let's get you back to your family and we'll take care of the monsters."
Sora took it as she escorted the boy out of the cave, unaware of the man in the black coat was watching them two...
As they left through the entrance of the cave, Spider-Man landed in front of them, "Okay, so who did you find?"
Sora quickly hide behind Wanda's leg startling, she turned back to him with a smile, "No, no, no... it's okay. He's a friend of mine. He's a superhero too, you know."
Sora peaked his head from behind the Scarlet Witch, Spidey noticing the small child knelt down to his level, "Hey there, buddy. What's your name?"
"Sora," The boy answered, "Who are you?"
"I'm Spider-Man," The Web-Head answered, "You must be pretty brave to be all the way out here on your own."
That got Sora smiling a little, much to the heroes' relief, Wanda then turned to the device Spider-Man wore like a handbag, "What's that?"
Spidey turned to the device on his side, "Not sure, gotta be something we must have taken from Kang when he got to his floating throne of the future."
Wanda then push Sora back slightly before her eyes narrowed at the device, "So, it could be a bomb?"
"Relax," Spider-Man reassured her, "If was something dangerous, my spider-sense would have told me." She raised an eyebrow before Spider-Man recalled, "Oh, right, this is the first time we're teaming up so you wouldn't know... I have a sixth sense that warns me of danger, and unless it's black goo like alien, it's never been wrong before."
That seemed to relax Wanda a little, if it was truly a power he had then she could see why the other Avengers had taken an interest in the New York vigilante, "And you're absolutely sure it'll stay that way."
"I'm sure, and if my Spider-Sense does pick anything dangerous coming from the device, I'll make sure we're far away from it as possible," He answered. Wanda seemed to accept that answer, as he continued, "And with any luck, it could be our ticket back to the present."
"No need to," She answered getting his attention, "Sora had just told me the current date, we're still in the present day."
"Well, that's a relief," The Wall-Crawler admitted before pulling out his Avenger ID card, "Guess the real question is, why no one has gotten back to us?"
"We've got other problems," Wanda stated as she knelt beside Sora, "Sora also told me that monsters have been appearing on the island and his father brought him here for his own safety. He went to go back to pick up Sora's mother as well as his friends but he hasn't returned."
Spider-Man then asked in concern, "You don't think Kang's behind it, do you? I mean, he does have giant robots and dinosaurs at his beck and call."
"No, Kang would have made his presence known by now," The Scarlet Witch shook her head placing a comforting hand on Sora's back, "I can't help but feel something else is going on. Someone or something even more nefarious than Kang. I told Sora we'd help because..."
"...it's what we do." Spider-Man nodded before turning back to the spiky-haired child, "Don't worry. We'll find out what's going on and deal with whatever monster hiding in the shadows."
Sora beamed happily in gratitude before Wanda got his attention, "Before the monsters, was there anything else strange things are happening around recently. Anything at all could help us understand what's happening."
"Well..." Sora crossed his arms as he thought out loud, "There was one thing. Right before the monsters showed, a stranger in a black coat appeared on the islands. Something in my heart said that I should stay away from him but I don't really know why."
"A man in a black coat," Spider-Man thought to himself before admitting, "Doesn't exactly fit any of my own rogue's gallery..." He then turned to Wanda, "What about you? Do you know anyone of that description on S.H.E.I.L.D.'s most wanted?"
Wanda shook her head, she had only been among the Avengers' ranks for almost a year so, he doubted she knew all of Earth's Most Dangerous Super-Villains... only the ones who weren't mutants considering who her father is. The Scarlet Witch stated, "Our best bet is to head onto the main island and talk to the locals, maybe they can point us in the right direction. Whatever if it's Sora's parents or the man in the black coat."
"Fair enough," Peter nodded before turning back to Sora, "So... is there any way off this island?"
"There might be a spare boat by the docks," The boy suggested as he pointed to his right. The heroes turned in the direction to see the docks the boy just mentioned. Three approached the docks and saw one rowboat remained on the docks. The boy frowned, "Oh... it's dad's boat."
Wanda turned to Spider-Man who shrugged, "Hey, I looked all over. The only ones I could find here were you two." Sora frowned before Spidey quickly changed his statement, "But there's always a chance I've could have missed someone. You're dad's probably fine."
Wanda nodded to the part-time Avenger to make sure he didn't keep the boy's spirits down. However, she knew there was still one problem, "I don't know how to use a rowboat."
"I do," Spider-Man admitted getting her attention, "When I was younger I used to go fish with Un-" The Wall Crawler stopped himself before clearing his throat, "Anyways, I know how to use to get us to the main island."
"Okay, then you paddle then," She nodded before turning back to the boy, "Sora, as soon as we make it to the main island unless we find your parents or a parent of a friend you know, you better stay with us until we know it's safe, okay?"
Sora nodded as the Avenger helped Sora on the rowboat before climbing on herself. Spidey joined not long after before he began to untie the rope that kept it from floating away. He took a hold of the rows before rowing back to the mainland. As the three left, the dark figure walked out of the dark cave he watched them off as he muttered to himself, "This world... has been connected."
Meanwhile, far away from the islands, there was a small world with only one building belonging to a retired Keyblade Master. The home of Master Yen Sid.
The Mysterious Tower
After stopping Master Xehanort and Vanitas, in the Keyblade Graveyard, King Mickey Mouse had almost given up on his path to becoming a Keyblade Master himself. While Xehanort had indeed been stopped, Terra had gone missing and hadn't been heard of since. Mickey did manage to find Ven and Aqua but the former's heart was sleeping as if his heart left his body leaving him in a small comma. While Master Aqua took Ven to a safe place until his heart would return before going off to find Terra, only to end up vanishing herself.
He had returned the Star Shard he had borrowed from his mentor, along with his own Keyblade. He had failed his friends when they needed him most. However, with some encouragement from Master Yen Sid, along with his own two best friends, Donald and Goofy, he took on his Keyblade and continued his journey to become a Keyblade Master.
Months ago, he went to visit another friend of his. Ansem the Wise. He heard he had done some research on the heart but he felt concerned it would unlock a danger that threatened the world. When he came to Ansem with his concerns, his friend agreed the experiments must stop before it was too late. While Mickey was relieved his friend understood the reason he should stop, his ambitious new apprentice, Xehanort wanted to proceed anyway.
While Ansem forbade his apprentices from defiling the Door to all Worlds, the name drew some concerns for the mouse king. Xehanort. Thankfully, he didn't seem like the same Xehanort he knew. As far as he could tell, the only thing they had in common was the name. Plus, he trusted Ansem, when he said he see to it that their research would stop. Hopefully, his other apprentices were just as understanding.
Now, at the present, Mickey was completing his Mark of Mastery, when Yen Sid stopped him midtest. Mickey turned to the retired Master, "Master Yen Sid? Is something the matter?"
Yen Sid looked at his student before telling him, "Mickey, I can't help but feel something terrible has happened between the barriers that divided the worlds from each other. I fear something dark is among us."
"What do you mean?" Mickey put away his Star Seeker Keyblade as he approached the elderly man, "The Unversed vanished after Vanitas's defeat. What could be bothering the worlds now."
"I can't say for certain," Yen Sid answered, "But the Heartless seem to be slipping throw the cracks between the Realm of Light and the Realm of Darkness. More so one world in particular."
Mickey gasped in horror. His master warned him of the Heartless when he was younger. Creatures without hearts formed in darkness. But the Door to Darkness was still closed so they shouldn't be getting out that easily. Even more curious is why they only attack one world. There were plenty of worlds out there, why that one in particular. The King of Dinsey Castle asked, "Which one?"
"The Destiny Islands," Yen Sid answered, "Although I could not say why."
Mickey crossed his arms to think. Out of all the populated places out there, why would they attack those islands? Just then, he recalled one thing he had learned long ago, "Oh... Oh no! Master Yen Sid! I think I know why they are there." Yen Sid urged him to continue so Mickey did, "Before Aqua vanished, she told me that Terra had passed down the Keyblade to a boy that lives there. I think they're trying to get to him before he could learn to wield it."
Yen Sid stroked his beard, "Yes... that is the logical choice. The Heartless have a great fear of the Keyblade. They would do whatever it took to destroy the wielder." He closed his eyes, "Still, they could not have acted alone. Even with the cracks between the realms of Light and Darkness, I believe someone from the Realm of Light is leading this attack." Yen Sid turned to his apprentice, "Mickey, due to the crisis, I fear we must put your Mark of Mastery on hold. With Master Eraqus gone and his pupils missing, you are the only Keyblade Wielder that could possibly reach this boy in time."
"You don't even need to ask." Mickey grabbed the Star Shard from his master's desk and resummoned his Keyblade, "I may have failed my friends, I will not fail this boy."
With that, Mickey ran out of the room to rescue this child from the forces of darkness. Yen Sid closed his eyes as he whispered to the King, "May your heart be your guiding key."
As Spider-Man rowed back to the mainland, the Scarlet Witch kept the boy entertained by asking him, "So, Sora, what are your friends like anyway. You mentioned them before."
"Oh, Riku and Kairi are my bestest friends," Sora beamed not even caring if 'bestest' was actually a word, "We do everything together. Some day, when we get big enough, we're going to build a raft and explore to oceans to see if there are other worlds out there!"
"Really," Spider-Man chuckled as he thought of the memories of how he, Harry, and MJ felt taking the ferry for the first time. He could quite easily see why children loved the idea of exploring the open sea, "Sounds like quite an adventure."
Wanda smiled as well. Before she knew what kind of a man her father was, she had no interest in seeing what lies beyond the shores of Genosha. Especially because of how her life was with her brother before Magento discovered their existence. However, meeting the X-Man, Kurt Wanger, and how her father risked ruining the Earth for a war that no one wins... well, made her rethink her thoughts and her opinions of mankind. It led her to become an Avenger in the first back. She ruffled Sora's hair, "Sounds like a wonderful time."
Moments later, they finally reached the mainland, the boat they had borrowed from Sora's father, came up over the beach of the mainland. Sora came up over the side of the boat and hoped down onto the sandy beach below, "I can't wait to tell Riku and Kairi that I met too real superheroes!"
He then ran off towards the town as Wanda and Spider-Man climbed out of the boat as well. The former called out to the child, "Sora! Wait! Don't go that far ahead."
She turned to Spider-Man, who nodded, "You go on ahead and make sure nothing happens to the kid. I'll secure the boat."
The Scarlet Witch nodded before rushing after Sora. While she did go over the fact that he should go anywhere on his own with him, she forgot the fact at the end of the day, he was still a child and easily get excited for almost anything. As she followed to small child as Spider-Man tied the boat with his webbing to a secure dock, she notice something was amiss. It was quiet. Too quiet. There was no one around outside of them. No men, women, children, or even animals for that matter. It was like the island was completely deserted.
Just then, she heard Sora gasp out with a panic voice before rushing back to her side, "Sora? What's the matter?" She then looked ahead to see one other individual on the island. A man wearing a dressed in black from head to toe gaze down to the two of them or more accurately Sora. The hood seemed to block out any chance of identifying the man in the black coat. She stood on guard before calling out, "Spider-Man! We have company!"
Spider-Man quickly ran to her side to defend the boy from this mysterious new foe, "Well, I'm going to take a wild guess and say this is our guy."
Wanda nodded in agreement, before demanding, "Who are you?! What did you do to the people living here?!"
Instead of answering, the man in the black coat approached them, "How did you two get here? By choice or chance? You cannot control what you're not aware of."
"What do you mean?" Scarlet Witch asked as Sora hid behind he cape, mostly likely hopping this was all but a bad dream.
The man removed his hood to reveal himself. He was a young male adult with silver hair and yellow eyes. Neither Avenger seemed to recognize him so, they could only assume that he was a new villain. He gestured to the heroes, "You two were never supposed to be here." He then smirked to himself, "The again that shift in the time stream did open for some larger opportunities."
"Okay, we get it, you're evil," Spider-Man quipped before going into his battle stance, "Now, you just going to stand there and keep monologging or are we going to fight?"
"Very well," The mysterious new foe simply smirked before snapping his fingers. All of a sudden, a crack through reality opened much to the two Avengers' shock. Darkness oozed out of it and took the form of small shadow-like creatures with yellow eyes. Both heroes stared around as the monsters surrounded them, as the villain threatened, "Had me the child, and perhaps I won't let the Heartless steal your hearts."
"Yeah, I'm not okay with either option," Spider-Man quipped to hide the nervousness from the others, "It's usually women that are way out of my league that tend to steal my heart anyway."
The Scarlet Witch simply glared at silver hair man, "We won't let you take him!"
She then blasted a hex right at him but he vanished before the hex could strike. Spider-Man warned Wanda, "Duck!"
The daughter of Magento narrowly dodged a strike from one of these Heartless before Spider-Man kicked it away from her. She gave him a nod, "Thanks."
With that, the two began holding their own against the strange shadow monsters. Wanda fired red blasts of her own power to send the creatures flying while Spider-Man used the skills he had learned over the years of crimefighting against them. While the monsters, didn't seem so strong, they made up for the weakness with overwhelming numbers. Wanda fired another hex at the monsters but one faded into the ground like a shadow before moving behind the heroes to reach the child. Spider-Man's Spider-Sense warned him of the danger because once the monster came back out from the shadows, he fired a web line at the Heartless before throwing it into a small group of them.
Sora whimpered as he clutched onto the Scarlet Witch's red cape tightly, she took a brief moment to look down at him as she tried reassuring him, "It'll be alright. We won't let them take you."
"Don't make promises you can't keep," The villain reappeared from the rooftops. He knelt down to observe the two Avengers, "You truly have no idea what your up against."
Just then, the world began to shake around them. Spider-Man's eyes widened under his mask, "Ah, Earthquake?!"
"No, the Heartless found the Keyhole to this world," Young Xehanort grinned, "This world is about to be dragged into the deep darkness, almost ten years before the preordained time. I suppose I have you two and the 'Time-Conqueror' to thank for that."
Wanda turned to him in horror, "What do you mean?!"
The young villain simply smirked as he watch the battle for Sora's life continue. Just then, a massive Heartless much larger than the ones they fought before rise from the ground. Spider-Man groaned, "Oh course... they can be giant too. Like being overwhelmed by numbers wasn't bad enough."
"Keep fighting, Spider-Man," Wanda told the part-time Avenger, "There must be a way to stop them."
Spider-Man nodded as he prepared to fight along the mutant to protect the spiky hair chair to the end. Just as the giant Heartless was about to strike them with a massive fist, light like a shooting star flew from the sky and landed in between the heroes and the large Heartless. The teenager in the black coat hummed before wondering, "I wondered when he'd show up."
Both Spider-Man and Scarlet Witch averted their eyes from when the light came in when it died down, they were able to get a good look at their savior. Hold the giant fist with nothing but an oversized star-themed key, was a large anthropomorphic mouse. Both heroes were dumbfounded by what their savior was and the weapon he wielded, but what perplexed Spider-Man, even more, was the fact this mouse looked like a certain cartoon character he used to watch with his Uncle Ben, "Did we just get saved by Mickey Mouse?"
Mickey shoved the fist back and aimed his weapon at the head, "FIRAGA!" A blast of fire struck the Heartless's face making it back away from the group of heroes slightly, the Disney mascot turned to the three but stayed on guard in case any Heartless attacked, "Looks like I got here just in time!"
Wanda turned to the anthropomorphic mouse confused, but grateful, "Thank you... but who are you..."
Spider-Man turned to her in shock, did this lady not watch cartoons when she was a kid. Mickey simply told her, "I wish I had time to explain but we need to get this little fella to safety."
All three heroes turned to the young boy, he peaked out of hiding. Mickey gave him a friendly smile and his trademark laugh. Wanda then turned to Mickey with a nod, "Right."
"I knew it would be a matter of time before you showed up, 'your majesty.'" The villain from the rooftops with a smirk, "Did Master Yen Sid finally sense the cracks in the Realms of Light and Darkness as I have. Personally, I hoped to be long gone before you arrived but this doesn't change the slightest of my goals."
Mickey's eyes narrowed at the villain, "Just who are you?! Why are you doing this?!" Mickey's eyes widened as he quickly recognized the color of his eyes, "Wait... those eyes... Are you... Xehanort?!"
"Observant as always, 'your majesty.'" The man in the black coat, now revealed to be Xehanort, "But I'm not the man you met at the Keyblade Graveyard, not yet at least. But you can't stop what's to come."
Mickey quickly turned to the two Avengers, "You two need to take the boy away from this world. No matter what we can't let him take him."
He then aimed his Keyblade to his left as light shined around the tip of the giant key before a beam of light shot out of it creating a portal for them to cross, "Go! I'll try to hold them off as long as I can. I'll find you and explain everything later!"
The two Avengers nodded as the mutant picked up the small child and ran to the portal. Spider-Man quickly followed as they entered the portal. As soon as they were through the portal closed, and King Mickey turned to face the Heartless alone. Mickey's eyes narrowed at the Darkside before charging at him Keyblade in hand to take on anything this Young Xehanort could throw at him...
And that will conclude today's chapter. Our two Avengers have met both little Sora and King Mickey. For those wondering, yes, Disney does exist in the Avengers' world so, that's how Spider-Man knows Mickey, but why doesn't the Scarlet Witch doesn't? Why is Xehanort from the past striking now instead of Dream Drop Distance? What could he be possibly up to? Why am I asking you all this? Find out, in the next chapter where our heroes will appear in another familiar world we visited many times in the series before exploring the Disney Worlds. I hope you enjoyed the chapter, be sure to leave a review. Also, if you haven't already be sure to follow and fav. as well. Oh, and before I forget, I do have a poll up regarding the future of another fanfic crossover of mine: Spider-Man: Journey to Kingdom Hearts. Be sure to vote if you haven't already.
