Kobayashi sighs as she finished her day at work. Today was busy, and she couldn't wait to get home.
'I still can't believe how much has changed since I met Tohru. I never thought I make friends with a dragon. Still, I do wish she'll tone down the dragon things about her. Then again, that is who she is.' She thought as she walked towards the train station.
Kobayashi looked into the sky, thinking how different her life has been. She had completely forgotten the kind of person she once was. Still, she wouldn't change it for anything.
"Meilo?"
Kobayashi flinches at her first name being used before turning around. She was surprised to see a young woman dressed in a cute dress and looked very surprised to see her.
"Ami?" She said, surprised.
Ami then smiles before rushing up and hugging her.
"It is you! Is so good to see you!" Ami cheered, not knowing she had pushed Kobayashi in between her blossoms.
"Ami!" She cried through it was muffed a bit.
"I haven't seen you in years! So much has changed since our last meeting!" Ami said, still not letting go.
"AMI!" Kobayashi shouted, pushing her off.
"Will you keep those out of my face?! You know I hate that!" She shouted before taking a breath.
"Oh! Right! Sorry, I forgot." Ami blushed before Kobayashi shook her head.
"So, what brings you to this side of Japan?" She asked.
"Just a little trip to get away from my brother. He's still a jerk after all this time." Ami sighs.
"Let me guess, he still thinks that you're wasting your life away?" Kobayashi asked.
"Yeah, but Let's not talk about him. I've been hearing some things about you, cuz." Ami smiles.
Kobayashi smiles. Ami was one of her favorite cousins from her mother's side of the family. Though she would get jealous everyone time she saw her bust, but it never keep the two from growing closer.
"Oh! I had a run-in with Kevo! I wish to apologize for what I said about the maid outfit when we were younger. I kind of hand the habit to go with the crowd at the time." Ami said, feeling bad about it.
"It's okay. I'm already over it." Kobayashi said, sighing.
"So, may I join you? I can tell you just got off of work and are on your way home." Ami asked.
"Are you sure you can handle the train?" Kobayashi asked.
"Hmph? Who do you think I am? My brother? Of course, I can handle the train!" Ami scoffs.
"Alright. Might as well introduce Tohru and the others to you." Kobayashi said, smiling.
"Torhu?" Ami asked, confused.
"I'm home."
The train trip was a little awkward, to say the least. The sudden joints would have forced her to land in Ami's bust or Ami would have accidentally landed on her. Ami apologizes during the whole trip and she only got her to stop.
"Welcome home, Miss Kobayashi."
Ami looked surprised to see a maid greeting her cousin, who looked to be very cute.
"Ami, this is Tohru. Tohru, this is my cousin, Ami Ritchiraifu." Kobayashi said.
"Nice to meet you," Tohru said, bowing.
"You hired a maid?" Ami asked her cousin.
"Yeah. She lives here too." Kobayashi said.
"Miss Kobayashi has been so kind to me. She's the best!" Tohru said, smiling.
"Huh, sound like you have a crush on my cousin." Ami snickers.
"Ami!" Kobayashi said, not wanting her to stoke Tohru's feelings toward her.
"Well, I don't want to hurt her," Tohru said, thinking.
"That's not what she meant!" Kobayashi said, upset.
"Anyways, I'm just about to start dinner. Is your cousin staying?" Tohru said.
"Yeah," Kobayashi said, looking at Ami.
"I love to," Ami said, smiling.
"Kobayashi!"
All three women turned to see Kanna running up, after hiding her horns and tail. She then hugged Kobayashi, surprising her.
"Hey, Kanna." She said, a bit surprised by the hug.
"And who's this?" Ami asked.
"This is Kanna, I took her in," Kobayashi said.
"You took her in? Well, I hope you're being a good mom!" Ami smiles.
"Yeah," Kobayashi said, still not sure if she really was a mom.
"Who's this?" Kanna asked.
"I'm Ami. I'm your mother's cousin." Ami said, making Kobayashi sigh.
"Nice to meet you," Kanna said, making Ami coo.
"She's so cute!" Ami said, pulling Kanna into a hug as she rubbed her cheek on hers.
Kanna was a bit confused about the action, but she did like it. Ilulu then walks up, surprised to see her.
"Oh? Another one?" Ami said, surprised.
"I'm Ilulu." She said.
"Call me, Ami," Ami said, putting Kanna down before hugging her.
"Um, Miss Kobayashi? Is she okay?" Tohru asked.
"Ami has a habit of hugging cute things. We have tried to get her to calm down, but I see that she still does it." Kobayashi sighs.
Kobayashi watched as her cousin fawn over Kanna and Ilulu, making her smile. She was glad that she ran into Ami first. Who knows what her other cousin would do?
Later,
"Oh my! That was delicious!" Ami said, after eating the food that Tohru made.
"Thank you! I worked hard on much the most delicious food for Miss Kobayashi!" Tohru smiles.
"Tohru..." Kobayashi sighs.
"I should warn you about my brother, though. It doesn't matter how well-made the food is, he will call out even little detail even if it's made the way he wants it." Ami sighs.
"Why?" Tohru asked.
"He's a spoiled brat that cares for no one but himself," Ami said.
"And he seems to treat me like I'm lower than dirt," Kobayashi asked.
"WHAT?!" Tohru asked, shocked.
"I never understood why. On the day we met, he was cold to me just as soon as I said "Hi" to him." Kobayashi sighs.
"So he's a buttface?" Kanna asked, making the cousins laugh.
"That's one way of putting it!" Ami said.
"Sounds like a real jerk," Ilulu added.
"Yep. Carlos never cared about others. He hated the fact that our aunt left the family to be a normal housewife." Ami said.
"Why do you mean?" Tohru asked, confused.
"Melio didn't tell you? Her mother came from a rich family." Ami said.
"WHAT?! YOUR MOTHER WAS RICH?!" Tohru shouted in shock.
"She doesn't talk about it. And honestly, I don't care that I come from a rich family." Kobayashi said.
"That's good. I remember seeing some humans that act like they were on top of the world because they were rich." Tohru said, thinking of the many kingdoms she destroy because the rulers were greedy humans.
"What do you mean?" Ami asked.
"Oh, I was a traveler before I meet Miss Kobayashi. I saw some things that made me see the ugly side of humans." Tohru said.
"Really? Must have been nice." Ami said, sighing.
"Ami?" Kobayashi asked, making her cousin look up.
"Sorry. I wanted to travel myself, but Carlos is canceling all of my plans before I can set them up. Staying that I'm part of the Ritchiraifu Family and we don't need to go anywhere. I had to sneak out this time." She said.
"He's going to be mad when he finds out, huh?" Kobayashi asked.
"He is. Already looking for me, I bet." Ami sighs.
"Why do you move out?" Ilulu asked.
"I'm trying! Carlos thinks I'm going to be just like our aunt! I'm the older sister! I can make my own choices!" Ami shouted.
"Ami..." Kobayashi said, patting her cousin's shoulder.
"Sorry. He just makes me so mad." Ami said.
Before more could be said, the door busted open, and a well-dressed man entered the apartment, looking quite mad.
"AMI!" He shouted.
"Carlos," Ami said, glaring at her brother.
"How dare you! I told you to stay within the Mansion grounds!" He shouted.
"I'm a grown woman! I can make my own choices, you brat!" Ami shouted.
"And throw everything away that we stand for?!" Carlos asked, angry.
"It's MY life! You have no say in it!" Ami shouted.
Kobayashi sighs. Her cousins get like this every time they're in the same room.
"So, that's her brother?" Ilulu asked.
"Yep. I see he still hasn't changed." Kobayashi said, shaking her head.
She stood up and walked over to her cousins. She pulled Ami back a bit and face her other cousin.
"Meilo..." Carlos growls.
"Carlos..." Kobayashi said, glaring at her least favorite cousin.
"Stay out of this. This is a family matter." He said.
"In case you have forgotten, I'm family too," Kobayashi told him.
Carlos growls before trying to push his cousin out of his way. However, Kobayashi knocked his hand away before stepping closer.
"Ami is right. She's can make her own choices. You can't control her." She said.
"What do you know?! You're part of a lower class!" Carlos said.
"And I should care why? Everyone has a life they want. I'm happy with mine." Kobayashi said.
Carlos glares at her. He then slaps her, catching everyone off guard.
"Miss Kobayashi!" Tohru shouted as Kanna and Ilulu looked shocked.
"Stay out of my way, you crossdresser!" Carlos said.
Kobayashi then glares back at him. She already faced down other dragons, and Carlos was nothing like them. Though, she will not lie in saying that Tohru's father scares her the most.
"I will not let someone like you..." Carlos started before Tohru, Kanna, and Ilulu got in front of him.
"How dare you hurt Miss Kobayashi," Tohru said, growling.
"And don't you dare treat her like something she's not!" Ilulu added.
"Leave our home," Kanna said.
"Why you!" Carlos said, going to hurt Tohru.
He was surprised to see Tohru grab his arm before feeling her squeeze it.
"If I were you, I'll leave before things get real messy," Tohru warns him.
"Let go of me! Do you have any idea how much this suit cost?" Carlos said, trying to pull away.
"More than your life, perhaps?" Tohru asked, squeezing his arm tighter.
Carlos could feel his arm bones slowly getting crushed but stubbornly refuse to budge.
"Let go," Carlos said, trying to free his arm.
"Tohru."
The dragon turned to see Kobayashi crossing her arms, clearly more upset with Carlos than her.
"Throw him out." She said.
"Glad too," Tohru said, dragging him to the door.
"Hey! Let go of me, you low life!" Carlos shouted.
Tohru froze at those words before glaring back at Carlos. Carlos stopped struggling when he saw Tohru's eyes. For someone reason, they seem to pierce into his soul and felt like he was burning on the inside.
"Call me a low life again, and I will end your pitiful life," Tohru warned him.
Tohru then drags Carlos out of the apartment as Kobayashi sat down. Kanna brought over an ice pack for her and Ami sighs.
"I'm sorry about that." She said.
"It's fine. He's such a jerk." Ilulu said.
"Are you okay, Kobayashi?" Kanna asked.
"Yeah. I'll admit I thought you all were going to go dragon on him." Kobayashi said, taking the ice pack.
"Dragon?" Ami asked, confused.
Kobayashi thought it over before nodding at Kanna and Ilulu. Kanna let her horns and tail appear as Ilulu made her tail appear. Ami blinks in surprise before Tohru came back in. She saw Kobayashi nods and let her tail appear.
"Ami, this might sound unbelievable, but I swear to you that what I'm about to tell you is the truth," Kobayashi said.
"Okay?" Ami said, not knowing she was in the shock of her life.
And stopping here. What to know Ami's reaction? Picture it yourselves! I know I said that Kobayashi's grandparents were next, but I need some more time to think about them and saving them for last. So I brought in her cousins instead. Ami and Carlos. They are from Kobayashi's mother's side of the family, and they are from a rich family. The family name translates to "Rich Life", though I do want a better last name for them.
Also, I have noticed that I'm only getting reviews from the same three reviewers. This story is marked under family, and it seems that this is falling into one of my "Okay stories, but not the one I'll usually write." Guys, I can't be known for my Danny Phantom stories only. Yes, there is a crossover between this and Danny Phantom, but I'm taking a break from my Danny Phantom stuff. There is another idea I have for Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, and it's a bit more action-pack, but I wanted to finish this one first. I can't just be getting reviews from the same three people all the time. Look, I'm not mad. I'm not trying to force you all to review, I just thought I heard a bit more about the family members I brought in.
I'm thinking on bringing in Kobayashi's Aunt and Uncle for the next chapter, so I'm not quite done with Ami and Carlos yet.
