Chapter 3: You Have Some Nerve!
Naruto told Jill and Yuri to call Carol and the rest of Alpha Team for backup while he had Gail and Kay take cover behind some parked cars.
"Naruto Uzumaki." one of the ROOT Operatives says in a loud, but even voice.
"You are needed back in Konoha, by order of Hokage Danzo Shimura." the second ROOT ANBU said.
'So Danzo is the Hokage, but does that mean that Granny Tsunade is?'
Pushing that dreadful thought to the back of his mind, Naruto focused on protecting the people that needed him right here and now.
Armed with his Glock P-260 he glanced up from his hiding spot. He saw.
'Those two? How did they find me here?' Naruto thought.
He looked back at Kay and signaled for the brunette to verbally engage the hostage taker.
"This is the LAPD, you are in violation of the law and you will be arrested and/or killed if you don't release the hostages and surrender now!" Kay shouts.
Naruto holsters his standard weapon and switched to his non-lethal version of the Glock P-260, which shoots pepper balls.
Taking careful aim, Naruto fires a pair of pepper balls at the ROOT ANBU.
The masked ninja released the hostage, a woman. She ran over to Naruto wheezing all the while.
"Get on the ground, face down and put your hands behind your head! Right now!" commanded Naruto, as Carol and the rest of Alpha show up. Sasuke knocks out the second ROOT ANBU who had taken a hostage, Naruto handcuffed the ninja and put him in the back of a squad car. As the car drove away, Naruto felt someone's eyes on him, turning around Naruto found Sakura staring at him longingly, narrowing his azure orbs at the pinkette for a moment. Then, he turned to Carol.
"Captain, I grew up with those two, so I can't be anywhere near them." he said matter of factly.
"Hey Dobe-." Sasuke said, but is silenced instantly when he feels the cold steel of Naruto's Glock pressed against the right side of his head.
"Say that again and I will splatter your arrogant brain all over this place." Naruto said in a low and threatening tone that made Sakura's heart leap into her throat.
'Naruto, what's happened to you? Where's the lovable, annoying idiot?' thought Sakura
Then, she saw one of the women, the one that reminded Sakura of Tenten came up to Naruto and gently placed a hand on his shoulder, the pinkette watched as Naruto lowers his gun and walks away from a completely unnerved Sasuke.
"Hey, I don't know what you said to Naruto, but judging by his reaction, I'd advise you not to call him that again." Carol said.
At the Station...
"Where is Naruto?" Sakura asked Yuri and Kari, who say nothing.
"Answer me!" she shouts.
Again, the two women ignore the pinkette.
Down the hall, Sasuke sat in Interrogation Room 3 with Regina, Kari, and Jill. The women were all glaring at the raven young man.
Naruto and Kay were at the blonde's desk making plans for a date when Carol and Carla came up to the pair.
"Naruto, come to my office, you too Kari." their leader said in a gentle tone.
With Sasuke...
"So, you and the pink haired chick grew up with Naruto? What was he like as a kid? " Jill asked.
"I bet Naruto was a cutie pie back then." Kari interjected.
"Tch, he was a loser." Sasuke said arrogantly.
Three sets of eyes lock onto the Last Uchiha, pure anger in them.
In Carol's Office...
"Naruto, please tell me about your childhood. I mean if it it is not too painful for you. " Carol says.
Kay and Carol were horrified when they heard about all the hardships and pain that Naruto had been through in Konoha.
With Sakura...
"So Sakura was it? Why do you want Naruto to go back to Konoha with you?" the Hispanic officer inquired.
"Our village is in distress, it's overrun by criminals." Sakura said.
"And you're betting on Naruto to drive out these people out of your village?"
Sakura nods.
With Naruto,Carol,and Kay
"So Naruto, so you know why those people are here?" asked Carol.
Naruto sighed.
"They are under orders to being me back to Konoha... by force if necessary." he says solemnly.
Kay gently places a hand on his left shoulder.
"Naruto, Y-you're not...going back there, are you?" Kay asked worriedly.
"No Kay, I am not going back to Konoha, everyone there save for a few people cared about me, I am going to find out where they are." he says.
Kay smiled before she leans in and gently kisses his lips.
The trio then walked into the interrogation room with Jill and Sakura.
"Where are Baa-chan and the others?" Naruto asked, fixing the pinkette with an intense gaze.
