Hello again! Welcome back to my yearly post and today do we have a doozy! This time we have more world building as we talk about aura. I borrow Cour's train of thought when it came to the stuff and wanted to dwell more into that... (and if you haven't already, please check them out, they are one of the best Rwby writers and I stand by that as long as he keeps writing winners!) But you didn't come here to read my creepy writer stanning, you came to read my even more creepy take on heroes! (That doesn't sound right...) So, sit back, watch as I butcher the plot and cast once more, and try my hand at character development (oh god), hope you enjoy!
Chapter 8: Lesson in Control (Yang, Nora, Reina)
Tick Tock… Tick Tock…
Ruby sat at the desk, her eyes darting around inside her head.
Tick Tock…Tick Tock…
Hanging above, a series of lights dwelled along the white painted ceiling glowing brightly, also a mysterious ball of paper stuck on one of the lights, probably from a previous class or something.
Tick tock... Tick Tock…
Scribbling left of the anxious reaper was Yang, who was surprisingly taking notes, as the writing on her paper symbolized… No wait… That was a drawing of Steel-Xreos getting pummeled very graphically. At least she is using her anger in a less destructive manner… Ruby thought with a wince. Sure the brawler was willing to take the course, still didn't mean she had to like the person who taught it.
Tick Tock… Tick Tock…
To the right was Weiss, who held a very crossed expression, if the twitching of her eyes were any indication...
"Ruby, settle down!" The Heiress yelled quietly, still facing towards the lesson despite the agitated girl next to her. "We are in the middle of class, you know. Do whatever it is you are doing after."
"But Weiss!" Ruby whisper-yelled back, "I'm just excited for later!" Though the heiress had a point, as Ruby glanced over and skimmed her partner's notes.
"Don't just copy me! And I don't know what you're excited for… what can someone who's younger than beacon's staff really do anyway?" The snow haired girl argured, slapping a hand away from stealing a finished paper.
"Owch" " I told you not to touch my stuff… " "Trust me Weiss, Ste-er Xreos' training was a lot more intense than you think. Reminds me of my uncle's routine now that I think about it..." Ruby finished with a pondering look.
"Oh, did your uncle drop you from a cliff headfirst?" Weiss mocked with a snort.
"Hey Uncle Qrow trained you too!?"
"..."
"..."
"Your family never ceases to disappoint, you know that." Weiss said with a blank expression.
"Hey! You haven't even met Zwei yet!"
"And that is?"
"Our dog."
"... Focus on the lesson before I lose any more brain cells"
"I thought you were trying to be nicer now…" Ruby added with a pout.
"I am…"
Standing under the hot sun after hours of torture (classes with Oobleck and Peach) wasn't something Yang would normally do, if at all, but here she and the rest of her team were to take part of a class run by an arrogant prick. Sure she could respect the man's(?) strength, but that doesn't change the fact that A) he humiliated her, but B) shot at her sister! If their uncle or father heard about it, strong or not, he was a dead man walking.
Strange how they haven't… Yang thought to herself, fanning her shirt as the heat raged on above. Regardless of who it is, I'm sure the headmaster would have done something if a student's life was threatened. Something's definitely fishy about this and it ain't Blake's lunch… Frowning at the thought, and dodging Blake's accusing stare, the blond brawler finally had enough with their situation.
"So are we just standing here or are we actually going to do something!" Yang yelled, shaking her fellow "trainees" out of their stupor.
Glaring at the guy who seemed to waste their time, Xreos seemed to only sigh at her outburst, annoying the brawler more, before taking initiative.
"I was waiting to see if more people were showing up, I rather not have anyone join mid-session. I only have so much time to spare for this course."
Getting more than a little pissed, Yang was about to continue yelling before the girl with auburn brown hair spoke ahead." Well, it doesn't look like anyone else is coming so perhaps we should start."
Looking past the girl, Xreos eyed the road before shrugging his shoulders. "Alright then. Like yesterday, we will start with one hundred laps across the track with no breaks followed by today's warmups." He started before getting interrupted.
"What!?" The yellow and white duo of RWBY shouted excluding the red and black portion as Ruby had seen the run the day before, and Blake had a portion of the run back in the fang- though she was still taken back a bit from the amount given.
"Eh? Got a problem with that, I thought you were strong huntresses…" Xreos taunted with thinned lips.
"This had nothing to do with one's strength, that kind of workout is more in line with the atlas military" Weiss protested, arms crossed with a frown.
"Good, then you already know what's in store in these sessions" Xreos stated returning the gesture.
"Well, what about the fact that this track is about ten kilometers long!?" Yang shouted back.
"What about it? You plan on fighting monsters that have superhuman strength, not like having a normal workout would help in the long run."
Weiss fumed at the man's nonchalance statement and was about to continue shouting at the violet huntsman before Blake interrupted. "I think what they're trying to say is how would a workout like this help out in the short term?"
Glancing at the hidden Faunus, Xreos pulled out his stopwatch before speaking. "What do you know about aura?"
Confused, Blake raised a brow while answering, "It's the strength of our soul given form to help protect and strength hunters."
"Not the textbook stuff, I meant what it does to a person." Xreos added, before sighing again at Blakes confusion. "Can anyone tell me what aura does to a person?"
"Ooh ooh me me!" Nora rang out from the back, a hand waving in the air expressively, "Pick me teach, meee!"
"...Valkyrie…"
"I dunno about other people but I get this really electric feeling, like I could bench press a bunch of Jauneys in a second!"
"Please don't bench press me Nora" Jaune said exasperatedly.
"I said I feel like I could… Besides it takes at least a hundred or so to get a workout in. No offense fearless leader but you weigh like a feather"
"Non taken… I think?"
"Can we get back on topic!" Weiss yelled before pointing a finger at Xreos. "And what does aura have to do with this workout?"
"For someone who has a class in the stuff you sure don't know a thing do you" Xreos said unimpressed. "Though Ms. Valkyrie was sort of correct, aura on its own could affect people differently. What I was trying to point out however, was the common fact that aura boosts the rate a person heals the same, regardless of speed or semblance boosting."
"How does this affect the run?" A girl with electric blue hair spoke out, still confused over the impromptu lesson.
"In a complete basic sense, when working out, you tear your muscles in order to develop better and stronger ones. I'm sure most of you have routines and or exercises to get you where you are today." Xreos said while gazing over a certain blond. For his part, Jaune only glared back. "Well, if aura heals a hunter from any physical damage, what if they focus it to heal them after a workout? Or what if they kept it on the entire time? Would they be able to do even challenging workouts to, in turn, boost their strength? That is the purpose of these beginning runs and warmups, to break and rebuild you quickly despite the logical standpoint of normality." The violet huntsman ended looking over the open gazes of the others.
"Are you insane! The amount of aura one would have to have it constantly on to heal is ludicrous! You will have to be almost built in the stuff in order to get close." Weiss complained after recovering from the idea.
"Then don't have it on constantly, you wouldn't be able to constantly have it on when in a fight anyways, unless you want to burn through your reserves." Xreos retorted.
"That doesn't even mention the amount of control a person needs to have to manipulate their aura so precisely in order to heal something as specific as our muscles." Surprisingly it was Ren who spoke out, worrying the rest of JNPR as his voice was colder than normal.
Sighing once more, Xreos only rubbed a hand on his head. "That is why this is an extra course. I believe I warned you all about the lengths I will go to. "You will be a hunter by the end no matter what" if we are to cheat and improve faster then of course the price for said improvement would be high. Though I will state that this training is possible, after all I took part once before."
A couple gasps rang out at his revelation, but Xreos ignored them to continue, "So if you can't handle it then perhaps it is best if your teams don't take part. Nothing wrong with having a normal career, perhaps it will be better in the long run." There was a strange urging in his tone, almost pleading.
Ren looked towards Jaune, seeing a content smile, he sighed before shaking his head. "I am still willing to take the course, I merely had some concerns with the curriculum."
A disappointed frown appeared on the violet themed hunter before it disappeared just as quickly. "Consider it heard." Before looking at the heiress.
Weiss huffed before too looking at her leader. Ruby shuffled under her gaze but gave the same content look in the end. Scoffing, Weiss glared at Xreos, "RWBY has no problems either, but I still have complaints about your work ethic"
A small chuckle came out of Xreos' mouth before a blank expression appeared "Same with you then"
Raising a hand, he gestured towards the track as he brought up his watch. "Well, if no one else has any complaints, your run starts now. What? You need some fanfare; I said it starts now so GO!" He shouted when they gave confused expressions which morph to a sprint when he proceeded to whip out his weapon.
As the group of students rushed to start, Xreos' expression changed towards a guilt frown as he sighed once more. "Damn this world, and damn you Ozpin for this job…"
/-/
I swear I'm going to turn him into a purple pancake when this is over… Yang thought with a huff, wiping the sweat off her face as she gasped for air. Like the man said, the group had to run a hundred laps around the school's track with not a single break during less then end up running it all over again. While the run itself wasn't bad, her uncle Qrow had used worse lengths than a hundred on a ten kilometer when she decided to jump in on some of Ruby's lessons, it was the "no break" portion that hurt her. Even when it was something as simple as slowing down to catch some air, Xreos added another hundred to the run. That's not to mention the after either, cause when they immediately finished the violet themed man simply had them do thirty sets of pushups and sit-ups.
Good thing I had a light lunch today, do not wanna be like vomit boy over there… Said "Vomit boy" was holding his stomach as he choked in air as if he had almost drowned.
"Alright, somewhat better this time, the amount will only increase from here on out so appreciate breaks you earn" Xreos said, earning a chorus of groans and gasps. "After this, for our next portion, I'm going to have our new members join in with some of you."
Looking over the sweaty teens, Xreos calculated in his head before giving a curt nod. "To start, Schnee I want you with Rollins and Ren, we're doing the same as yesterday but this time I want you both against Schnee for the first few fights" He stated before getting interrupted by said Schnee.
"What!?" Weiss shouted before coughing a bit as she was still sore and tired, "Y-you want me to face off against two opponents after all this!?"
"Yes. I've seen your fights Ms. Schnee, and I know you have a hard time facing off against multiple opponents, being able to improve against that weakness will help you in the long run. As for your exhaustion, that's what the break is for." The violet Huntsman stated before turning towards the others.
"Next, Rose I want you to practice fighting against Nerman before actually sparring, only hand to hand the whole time."
"No, don't take me away from my baby!" Ruby cried, cradling Crescent Rose like a single mother being separated from her last child.
"It's the same deal, your CQC is horrendous and Nerman as a close quarter specialist will help improve that." Xreos explained, surprisingly more patient than before.
"Then Belladonna, I want you and Nikos to fight, learning how to deal with a superior opponent early on with help out in the future." If the more subtle member of RWBY noticed the back-handed assumption of her abilities, she ignored it in favor of getting a bit more energy before the (correctly) assumed (as Pyrrha still hasn't seen defeat in the mock spars that Professor Goodwitch has in her classes) beat down.
"Next would be Xiao-Long, I want you with Valkyrie and Lunberg. Controlling that temper of yours would do a long way from a sudden demise" Ignoring the mutter jerk the blond said under her breath, Xreos finished sending the groups off.
"Finally Arc you're with me, let's see if there isn't something that can be salvaged"
Instead of the normally nervous or accepting response the blond leader would have, all of RWBY were surprised to instead hear a, albeit still shaky due to an overwhelming workout that none of them were fully used to, determined voice with a small hint of anger that wasn't very hidden. "B-bring it…"
After making sure everyone was ready for the day's session, Xreos gave another nod before sending them off.
Moving along the dirt path, Yang started to recognize a pattern when it came to this course as she once again waited for something to happen. "So, Teach… How are you going to teach me to learn "control"? Gonna play chess? How about a good ol' round of sitting still like in those mistralian movies?" She guessed, trying to bring some life to the empty walk.
Though Xreos didn't seem like playing along, staying quiet as he brought the three of them to an arena. After making sure the system was in order, he finally acknowledged the others behind him.
"Alright, Valkyrie, Lunberg, take your positions, Xiao-long on this side."
"Wait. What are we doing?" The only blond asked, reluctantly getting into position.
"Oh, are we having a free-for-all! I love a good brawl, though Renny says I'm not allowed to get into any, something about civilians or something…"
"You asked how I'm going to teach you control, well you are to fight Valkyrie and Lunberg alone" Xreos stated, ignoring Nora's comment
"What!? I can throw drown, but how the hell is two on one supposed to teach me anything!" Yang protested, seeing no point in such a disadvantage.
"For starters, there may be a time where you find yourself alone or outnumbered. For those situations you need to think smart, and plan in the moment." Xreos explained, surprising patient towards the blond despite his previous actions, "Now enough talk, you are to go until you can't fight anymore, and remember, beyond a broken aura."
Scowling, Yang brought up Ember Celica in an offensive position. "Fine then, let's get this over with."
(Optional theme F.O.E Persona Q Damusicmahn ver)
As she readied up, so too did her opponents, with Nora holding Magnhild in its hammer mode and Lunberg pulling out a repeater rifle, though much bulkier than any normal rifle.
"Ready? Begin!" Xreos shouted, activating the arena's dome to keep the damage to a minimum.
The second she heard the match start, Yang rushed towards Lunberg, though Nora had the same plan.
"Not so fast!" The bomber shouted, swinging Magnhild straight at Yang.
Switching to a defensive position, Yang blocked the heavy hit getting sent back a bit.
"Hrgg" Grunting at the hit, she changed targets as she threw a couple of shotgun boosted punches towards Nora.
"Back off!" Missing her first swing, she managed to get a direct hit as she slugged the orange bomber across the cheek, stunning her for a second which was then followed up by another hook.
In her rage, Yang forgot about her second opponent, who gladly reminded the blond via a few rounds to her back.
"Agh, damnit!"
"Sorry not sorry!" Lunberg taunted, reloading and firing another volley of rounds.
Swapping targets once more, Yang fired a few rounds behind her, quickly reaching the sniper, and throwing another set of punches.
Punches that were mostly blocked via the big repeater, as Lunberg mitigated the serious blows to her biceps and face and shoulder bashed the brawler away.
More stunned than hurt, Yang fired a few rounds at Lundberg before Nora reemerged with a few swings from Magnhild.
"Don't forget about me!" She cheerfully yelled, causing the brawler to be on the back foot once more.
Dammit She shouted internally, dodging both sniper fire and hammer strikes. I can't push forward! If I focus on Nora, the other girl shoots me, If I focus on her and Nora gets through! How the hell was this supposed to teach me control!? Only thing I'm learning is that Xreos doesn't know shit! Frustrated, Yang let out a shout as she was pushed back by another swing from Nora.
"Would you back the fuck up already!" The brawler shouted, her hair igniting into flame as a wave of heated aura pushed her aggressors back.
"Whew, now I'm getting fired up!" Nora joked as Yang rushed forward, faster than before.
"Sorry but Puns are my thing!" She stated, sending a powered punch at the hammer-wielder, knocking her far away.
"Woah!"
"Now for you!" Yang taunted, cracking her knuckles, rushing towards Lunberg.
"Now we can talk about this" The electric blue haired girl started, before raising her weapon to block an onslaught of punches.
"We just did" Yang cockly smirked, breaking the sniper's guard, sending her to the ground.
"W-wait quick question, is your hair really on fire?" Lunberg asked, throwing her hands in the air.
Stunned a bit at the random question, Yang scratched her head. "Huh yeah, found out the hard way if you know what I mean…"
"Oh nice, thanks in advance!" Smirking, Lunberg threw her hands back, quickly springing to her feet as she tackled the blond brawler, throwing her hands to her hair.
"H-hey back off! What the hell was that for" Yang shouted, punching Lunberg away.
"What did Valkyrie say? Oh yeah, I'm getting fired up!" The sniper shouted, a manic glare appeared on her normally reserved face, her electric blue hair seeming to hold a dazzling aura like a gem who's reflecting a beam of light.
Rushing towards the brawler, Yang was surprised to find her opponent's punches to be hitting a lot harder. Shit... She's just like Nora!
Throwing a boosted punch of her own, Yang managed to push the sniper back far enough to get some breathing room. Only for Nora to show up once again.
"Not fair I wanna go super too!" The bomber protest, swapping her weapon to a more a more range friendly version.
Dodging explosion after explosion Yang was barely able to get close to Nora, before Lunberg came back with her gun. Though calling it a gun would be inaccurate. As Nora swapped to range, the boosted sniper swapped to melee, breaking her repeater in half, turning it into two axes.
Avoiding slashes, Yang was barely able to avoid a hit from Nora who swapped to close quarters, before a familiar click was heard from her left. Looking at that, Yang noticed a gun muzzle as Lunberg smiled.
"Looks like the fires all burned out!" She shouted, firing at the brawler finally finishing her aura as Yang collapsed.
(Music over)
"Woohoo we win!" Nora shouted excitedly, somehow not exhausted at all.
"Y-yeah!" Lunberg agreed, not as energetic, as her semblance and aura broke too, slouching on her gun.
"Not quite" Xreos stated, drawing looks from both of them.
"Huh? Yang's aura is out though?" Nora said confused, tilting her head to the side.
"I feel like I'm repeating myself too much. I said the match will continue until you can't fight anymore, that means beyond your aura breaking." The violet huntsman stated, turning towards Yang. "Now Xiao-long, can you still fight?"
Grunting, Yang slowly stood up before raising her fists defiantly. "Y-yeah!"
Giving her a suspicious look, Xreos continued, "I'm not sure you are. Let me ask again, are you still going to fight?
Glaring at him, Yang shouted back, "Didn't you hear me!? I said I am, so let's do this!"
Sighing, Xreos gestured back towards the duo. "Then the match still continues, keep fighting till you can't fight anymore."
"W-what y-you can't be serious; she can barely stand!" Lunberg protested, as Nora stood silent.
"Would you focus on yourself, I said I'm good so I'm good not let go!" Yang retorted.
"I refuse, I am not going to fight someone who's injured!" Lunberg shouted back, ignoring Nora raising Magnhild.
"Then move out of the way, don't want you to get accidentally hurt if you aren't fighting" Nora stated, more subdued than before.
"W-wait what?" was all Lunberg said as the dome went back up and Nora charged towards Yang.
(Optional theme Painful Fate/zero ost)
"Aghh!" Shouting out, Yang raised her fists, throwing much slower punches due to her exhaustion
Not having any difficulty blocking them, Nora simply struck yang in the gut with her fist as the blond reeled in.
"Gack" Yang choked out, grabbing a hold of Nora, striking her across the face.
Nora grunted, and moved with the hit, and due to it not being as strong as before, wasn't as stunned to which she punched the brawler back, breaking her nose.
"Aghh!" Yang reeled back, gasping at her face
"Stop it, stop this madness" Lunberg yelled at Xreos.
"Don f'u bare! Yang shouted, muffled due to her injury, as she roared at Nora firing her gauntlets at the hammer-wielder. Taking the blast full on, Nora roared back slamming her hammer in Yang's side sending her back to the ground. This time however, she didn't get up.
(Music stop)
"Xiao-long!" Lunberg shouted running towards the down girl as Nora stared at Xreos.
"Why the hell did you fight her, why did you let this happen." Lunberg shouted at the two before groaning rom below switched her focus.
"Shit maybe if we rush to the nurse she'll be fined."
"It's nice to see you care for your fellow hunter, it will be important for joint missions in the future." Xreos stated, ignoring Nora's look and walking towards Yang.
"Of course I care! I'm not a heartless bastard like you! Now help me get her to the nurse!"
"That won't be necessary Lunberg" Xreos stated before reaching a hand on the downed blond.
"Why!? She's hurt because of you" Lunberg shouted angrily, glaring at the violet huntsman before her.
"She is injured because she did not listen to her limits, instead of backing away she decided to continue fighting in hopes of a victory that will not come." He stated, grabbing Yang's arm.
"What are you doing?" Nora spoke up for the first time since the fight, angry and worry visible in her expression.
"I'm showing why your school nurse won't be necessary" Xreos stated before falling silent.
Before anyone could say anything else, a steel glow rose from Xreos' hands, as Yang's visible injuries disappeared before their eyes.
"What?" Lunberg stated as Xreos quickly reseted the blond's nose before her aura healed it.
"Was that your semblance?" Nora asks, curiosity joining the bundle of emotions on her face.
"No, it's an aura technique, something I learned long ago…"
"I thought you didn't have an aura?" Nora questioned again, remembering the injury Xreos received in the fight against Yang.
Xreos didn't answer as the glow stopped, and pretty soon, Yang rose again.
"Holy crap someone get me the number on that bullhead." Yang groaned out, rubbing her head.
"Xiao-long!" Lunberg cried out, quickly getting the down girl on her feet.
"T-thanks. Damn Nora, anyone tell you hit really hard"
Smirking, Nora said, "Yeah Ren says it's one of my greatest strengths, or was it my greatest problem?" Nora acted normal if it weren't for the not-so-subtle glares at Xreos.
"Still why did you fight, you could have gotten seriously hurt, in fact you did!" Lunberg stated.
"Thanks for caring, but I can handle myself. Besides, teach here says until I can't fight anymore, and I could still fight. Not going to give up now"
"I said till you are unable to keep going." Xreos stated, causing the three to look at him.
"The purpose of this match was to see you limits, show that not all problems rely on brute force." Xreos started, ignoring the glare Yang sent his way. "That also means controlling that tempter, had you had a clear head, you would have been able to take advantage of Valkyrie and Lunberg's subpar teamwork."
"What! What do you mean subpar!?" Lunberg shouted back, glaring at the violet huntsman as well.
"I mean subpar, Valkyrie rushed in without keeping you covered, you played far too passively to effectively work off her charge. Not to mention neither of you actually worked together. At best you played off the other whenever Xiao-long got distracted, had it been someone smarter or able to capitalize on said mistakes you wouldn't have won so easily if at all." Xreos' logic shut down any rebuttal the two had.
"Then how did I mess up?" Yang said, more subdued than the start after hearing Xreos state some surprising sound critiques.
"You focused too hard on staying in the lead." Xreos stated before gesturing towards the battlefield. "A smarter fighter would have moved with their opponent, and look for a way to turn the tide, a way that would lead to less injuries, but instead you tried to force your way through, giving an opening that your opponents were able to take advantage of. Not to mention losing your mind when things weren't going your way, had you focus, you may have been able to take down Lunberg before Valkyrie returned or even take down Valkyrie at the end."
Sighing a final time he gave Yang a hard stare, as he continued. "The final mistake you made was fighting when you had no energy left." He raised his hand to stop any protest from the brawler. When she stopped, Xreos finished speaking. "I said till you were unable to continue, that means when you have reached your limits. In those situations, a hunter must choose between life or death, and if you are faced with a superior opponent or against a larger force then yours, you should know when to quit."
"Then what about if we are facing a horde of grimm and a village is behind us!? We just leave them to die?" Yang questioned, pissed at the answer she expected him to say.
And sure enough, "Yes" Xreos stated, dodging a punch the brawler made.
"You son of a bitch!" Yang lashed out, intending to keep going if it weren't for Lunberg holding her back
"Xiao-long! Don't your still injured!" The sniper begged, holding the enraged girl.
"Why should I, this bastard deserves it!"
"Why?" Stopping in her struggles, Yang turned towards Nora, as she noticed the bomber not holding her signature cheer.
"Why would you leave them?" Nora asked again, seemingly blank.
Xreos stared at her for a bit, before looking down at the ground.
"Because who would save them if you're dead?"
Stunned, Yang stared at the violet huntsman, as he looked up, his gaze somehow emptier than before.
"Let me tell you all something, what would happen to the village if there was no one to defend it, what would happen to the people if anyone who could fight were killed? They die." Xreos pulled out his sword as he spoke. "To save people as a huntsman you have to pick your battles, because if you die, so do they. And sometimes that includes leaving the very same people to die."
"That's bullshit, why would we leave the vary people we protect!" Yang protested again, but less angry as Xreos' look reminded her of her dad, and not in a good way.
"Then how would you protect anyone if you're too injured to fight?" He stated, drawing a wince from the brawler. "How could you save anyone if you can't even save yourself."
"That's why we have a team to help out, same with our fellow hunters." Lunberg stated, before backing up as Xreos turned to look at her.
"And what happens if they have to pull dead weight around on top of defending the people?" Xreos, stood silent as the three hunters in-training stood there, unable to say anything to that.
Shaking his head, Xreos motions them to head back. As they begin to walk Yang speaks up.
"I won't abandon people, regardless of what you say." Yang states defiantly, glaring at the back of Xreos' head.
Stopping in his steps, Xreos stood there for a second before turning to face the brawler.
"Then I hope you learn to control your temper so those people could still have a defender to look up to." Finishing his piece, he continues walking forward.
Standing silent, Yang ignores the concerned look from Lunberg and the blank one from Nora, before clenching her hands tightly. She marched back to the others with a newfound determined goal, missing the gaze of a black bird perched up high.
Damn that was rough... I tried hard for the fight scene but tell me if it could be improved. As for Xreos' words, what dop you think of them? Do you agree or disagree? Personally, I think it's smart since hunters in RWBY are the only thing keeping the grim away, and every hunter lost is a good potential chunk of humanity gone too. But then again, just because it's the correct sort of mindset doesn't make it the right kind. (Now where does that sound familiar?) Well give me your thoughts on how this chapter went and sorry for the long update, I only promise to continue! So, to end, what limits would the rest of the students have, and how far could they improve? Why was Nora so unNora like in the second fight? Is the technique Xreos did really an aura one or something else? what do birds have anything to do with Yang? find the answers next time, on Cross Fates!
