As the adventurers continued to catalog and even battle some monsters, they continued to watch the spider known as Kumoko as she battled another frog before killing it.

"Not so tough now, are ya? Now to enjoy this meal in my own home." she said.

"Looks like it. Not bad. Our little spider mascot is growing up." Cobalt said.

"Do we really need to keep watching this spider?" Naofumi asked.

"Of course. This spider is more than a spider…she's…the wave of the future!" Theo said as he and Ethox stood tall with stars in their eyes.

"It's just a spider, dude." Kazuma said.

They saw the thread twitching as Kumoko followed it.

"Oh…looks like she caught something." Ivy said.

"Better not be another frog." Kasumi said as they followed the thread to see a grown man struggling in it.

"That is no frog. That's a full grown human!" Ty said.

The guy looked back in shock before tossing down a vial as it combusted, igniting the threads.

"Hey!" Kumoko said before she cut the thread before the fire could spread as the guy ran off, leaving behind a single egg. "Great…now I got work to do." she said creating a thread rope around her head and a hammer as she worked to improve her home.

"Geez…she goes to all that trouble and…" Theo said looking. "Huh…the guy left an egg."

"Oh well…his loss is our gain. Who's up for omelets?" Subaru said.

"Hell yeah. Let's cut into it now!" Kazuma said, grabbing a sword and swinging it at the egg before it broke. "The hell?!"

"Don't worry….I got this." Megumin said about to cast a spell before she was stopped.

"We don't need a cave in. I got just the thing." Theo said. "Taurus Mode!" he said as his blade became an axe. "Crack open!" he said hitting it but it didn't crack. "What kind of egg is this?"

"Hmm…looking at the scale pattern…I think this is an Earth Wyrm Egg." Ivy said.

"Wyrm…you mean this is a dragon egg?" Naofumi said.

"Yep. Crack it all you want…I guarantee it won't be destroyed." Ivy said.

"Should we just leave it for Kumoko then?" Ty asked.

"I don't think she'd be able to crack it." Sally mentioned.

So the group just kept watch as the spider took the egg into her home.

"Dang it…was looking forward to the omelet too." Subaru said.

"Yeah…" Kazuma said as he smelled the air. "I could imagine it shrouded in fire."

"Whoa…fire." Theo said.

"Yeah, that's what I said." Kazuma said.

"No, dummy. Look!" Aqua said pointing to the web house which in fact was on fire.

"What the?" the group said as they saw a group of humans with torches.

"Not good. Looks like the guy went and brought back up. We can't stay here or we'll get caught in the blaze." Theo said as they retreated from the area as did Kumoko.

"That was way too close." Cobalt said. "Shame about the house…but goes to show you can't become strong by lazing around."

Now having to start from square one again, Kumoko continued to battle against monsters such as the frogs and the lizards with their petrifying glare, even fighting some strange centipede monsters. All leading up to a confrontation with a large snake.

"Whoa…what's she fighting?" Theo asked.

"An Elroe Baladorado. A snake monster. Danger Level C." Ivy said.

"Oof! This thing's stats are nuts, and it's level 9!" Rista analyzed, seeing a bunch of high level stats, such as Dragon Scales but Kumoko couldn't tell its stats at all as she was thrust into combat with the serpent.

"My webs and the walls aren't helping! I think it would be better to run away… but I'm not gonna!" Kumoko said. "I declared what kind of fighter I would be from now on, so I'd better give this everything I got!"

She fired off her webs in succession as she slowed down the serpent before closing its mouth before she latched on and started biting into it as the serpent was slowly losing its strength until it finally went down.

"Whoo hoo! I did it!" Kumoko said.

"Okay. Gotta think this through. This is a big turning point, so I definitely don't wanna half-ass this decision. What should I do?" Kumoko asked herself. "I think Lesser means I would stay the same species but grow some, and Small means I would become a more advanced species but still remain in an immature state…. Okay! I'll become a Small Taratect!"

"Wait, no…easing me…into…it." she said before passing out.

"Whoa, she passed out. It's just like how Rimuru evolved into his Demon Lord state." Ethox noted. "How long is her evolution gonna take?"

"Shouldn't take too long." Ivy said. "Hmm…this spider…she doesn't behave like any normal monster."

"The only thing I can think of, based on how she behaves when she beats monsters, built her shelter and all the other stuff…do you think she may be…" Ty said.

"Only one way to find out." Theo said going to his comm.

"Hello?" a voice said.

"Hey, David. Just a quick question but…has anyone in Japan…died recently in an accident or something?" Theo asked.

"Ah… I was wondering when you would call me about that." David said. "About a week ago, a stray space-time blast struck Heishin High School, taking out the entirety of Class 2-3."

"Wait, what? That's news to me!" Theo said in surprise. "I'm calling cause…I think one of the students…may have been reincarnated as a spider monster."

"A…spider? Are you joking with me right now?" David asked.

"Trust us, man. We wish we were." Kazuma said.

"Is it really all that shocking? Rimiru was reincarnated as a Slime from his previous life." Ty said.

"That's not what I was getting at. I mean, people have reincarnated into stranger things." David said. "Where exactly are you?"

"We're in the Great Elroe Labyrinth. Upper Stratum." Theo said. "Our little spider mascot just fell asleep to evolve."

"Mascot? Y-you know what, I won't judge." David said. "Still, evolution, this early? Sounds like you've got quite the firecracker under your eyes."

"She just took on a high ranking monster so…yeah. No shock." Theo said.

"I had a feeling this was the case. We still don't know the cause of the blast, though." David said.

"Hmm…Somehow…I think our two situations are connected somehow." Theo said. "Call it a hunch."

"Yeah, I think so too. If that spider really is one of the students of that class, there's a chance the others are somewhere in that world too." David said. "Well… The ones that managed to last as long as your little spider friend, anyway."

"Hmm…if they did, they wouldn't do much. Most humans end up restarting from infancy when reincarnated as a human or humanoid species." Ivy said.

"That's true. However, keep in mind that time passes by differently in different worlds." David said. "Depending on when they managed to reincarnate, some of them might be living new lives already."

"We'll keep an eye out if we run into anymore of these reincarnations but…it's likely gonna be awhile." Theo said.

"I wouldn't be surprised if it does. This whole thing is quite perplexing in and of itself." David said.

"Just thought I'd keep you posted. Also, if things start getting more dicey and I call you, I want you to come to this world ASAP. Bring your group and Spirit Force too if that does happen." Theo said.

"Got it. We'll be on standby." David said.

"Thanks…TTYL." Theo said as he disconnected. "Looks like we were right. This spider is a reincarnation."

After sleeping, Kumoko soon awoke with not much difference as she ate up the snake and immediately went for skill selection. She went and selected the only two she could pick up. Thread Control and Detection.

"Hahahaha! Now let's see how this works!" she said as her thread moved to her will as she captured a rat as she devoured it along with any other monster she could find. However, her cockiness was about to come back to bite her where the sun didn't shine.

"And…there she goes." Subaru said as they saw Kumoko running from some humans before she fell right off a cliff as the group followed her.

"Looks like we're going into the Lower Stratum now." Theo said.

"Ivy, what is the Danger Level threshold down there?" Ethox asked.

"There are definitely some high level monsters down here…it's home to powerful Earth Dragons." Ivy said.

"Kumoko better watch herself down there then. But I know I'm not goin' down there." Kazuma said.

"Uh…dude…" Subaru said as the group were soon falling down towards said stratum.

"Of course." Kazuma sighed as they hit the Lower Stratum. "Well we better go now…" he said before they all looked in awe as a large beast on four legs was devouring a number of snake and bee monsters.

"That's…an Earth Dragon. And a powerful one at that." Ivy said.

"Let me try….Appraisal." Theo said.
