LOVE THAT HAS BEEN LOST CHAPTER 8
Derek who is nearby talking to a patient saw his colleague assuming a woman maybe his wife cause he kissed her. He catch a glimpse of red prom his peripheral view when he take a second look they were gone
"Maybe I'm hallucinating," Derek thought, he shook it off and continue to update the patient, and walk out. He went to the nurse's station and fill up the patient's chart when his done he goes to the nearest on-call room to rest even for a few minutes before he visit his next patient
30 minutes after he exited the on-call room when he bumped into Meredith who looks like she's finding someone
"Hey," he said
"Ahm hi" looking around
"Looking for me?" He said with confidence and smirk that's when Meredith look at him with an annoying look "what?" He asked to confuse
"Tsk not everything's about you Derek" she pushed him lightly
"Woah why are you in a bad mood? And what are you doing?"
"I'm looking for a kid, Dr. Reily's son he went missing so I'm helping them to find him" Derek just nodded
"What does he looks like?"
"Small, look like at least 7 years old" she replies
"That's not much info, can you give any more clue?"
"I don't know Derek, I haven't met the kid. I just passed by them and I saw Dr. Reily's wife panicking so I offer to help and that's all I've got" Meredith glared at him "you may be a world-class neurosurgeon but sometimes you don't have brains have it check sometimes" she said jokingly and they both laugh at it
"Okay well I'm gonna see a patient now but I'll keep an eye out if I saw him" He check his blackberry and kiss her on the temple and walk away
When he finished talking to a patient he instructed his intern to run labs and paged him when the results are up. He's going to the cafeteria when he passes by the unused exam room it isn't a closed room it's an open area the only cover was the curtains for privacy usually it's used for trauma patients but since not a lot of trauma reported lately, it wasn't used much when he saw a kid sitting on a gurney small and look at least 7 years old like how Meredith describe it he laughs when he remembers. He walks to where the kid is he looks at him and vice versa, then he sees the kid's eyes
"those eyes look so familiar," he thought
"He doesn't seem scared or anything, he's pretty calm for a kid who just went lost, " Derek thought
"Hey, kid are you lost?" Henry just nod
"Are you scared?" he shook his head
"What's your name?" Henry hesitantly looks at him "it's ok I won't hurt you, I'm Derek Shepherd you are?" Derek smiled at him
"My name is Henry Reily" Derek nod
"So you're the kid Of Dr. Jake Reily" Henry smiled when he heard his father's name and he nods
"Okay come on I'll take you to him cause they must be worried about you" when he put Henry down of the gurney
"HENRY!" he hears the voice he hadn't heard in years he looks up and there he saw her. Derek froze where he stands as the woman walk closer to them
"There she is, I can't believe she's here standing in front of me and she's alive," Derek said in his mind he's still drowned in his thought and didn't realize he's starting at her feet like a lifetime when Henry let go of his hand and walk to his mother that's when Derek came to his senses
"Mommy" Henry as he hugged her
"We've been looking all over for you" worried is evident in her voice
"I'm an okay mommy I wasn't scared and that nice man" pointed to Derek "helped me" Addison look at him. They made eye contact and Derek is lost again to the eyes he sees every day when he wakes up. And he can see that their still the same, by looking at those eyes they say honesty, compassion, and full of love
Derek is tired and he wants is just lay in bed and have the first thing he sees when he wakes up in the eyes of his beautiful girlfriend that he loves so much more than anyone in this world. Through her eyes, he can see their future together and he doesn't want to wake up with anyone other than her.
All he wants to do is to hug her, kiss her, tell her that he misses her so much that it almost killed him. But that was before everything that had happened, a lot has changed now he has Meredith and she has Jake and children and they seem both happy so he snaps out of it, controlled himself, and walk to her
"Hi," he said
"Hello, thank you for taking care of my son" she looks at him closely and she figured from the way he's wearing his a surgeon too. "Dr.?"
That punched Derek in a lot of places in his body especially his heart. "She didn't remember me? Did she forget that I was her fiancé? Did I do something that made her go runaway and completely forget me?" A lot of questions ran to his mind. Addison just stared at him looking confused
"Are you okay?" She asked him
"Y-yeah, d-don't you remember me?" He's trying not to cry when asking, Addison looks at him as if she is supposed to remember him but nothing is clicking for her
"Should I suppose to know you?" She asked him as politely as she can be but her slight irritated tone is hard to miss "I'm sorry but I don't remember you, so might as well say your name so I can thank you" she impatiently said
"Same old Addie" Derek smiled at himself
"Mommy be nice," Henry said
"Yeah Adds be nice" they all look at the entrance and see Jake and Angela standing there. Addison just rolled her eyes "hey squirt" Jake went to Henry and kneel "Don't do that again you scared your mom and your sister okay" Henry nod and ask for forgiveness from all of them and Jake shuffle his hair "it's ok" he stand up and turn to Derek
"Well thanks, men I hope he isn't a bother" Derek only shake his head
"No problem" he looks at Henry "be careful next time Henry" he looks at Jake and smiles then he looks at Addison longer and smile and walks away
