LOVE THAT HAS BEEN LOST CHAPTER 13
It's been a month since Derek starts avoiding Addison, Jake too but only when he's with Addison. When Addison needs a consult from him he is not paying attention to her that's also what he did when he needs her for a consult. Addison isn't giving it too much thought about his behavior, they weren't close anyway, they talked occasionally especially about patients.
Derek is standing at the nurse's station updating the patient's chart while ordering his intern to run labs when his best friend who has been missing for 2 months not missing, went away to New York
"Derek" Derek look up at him "hello Dr. Grey," he said to the intern
"Run the labs little Grey" Lexie nodded "get the hell away from her Mark," Derek said in a threatening tone and a death glare Mark raised his hands as a surrender
"Grumpy, why Mrs. Shepherd didn't give you horizontal salsa?" Smug face
"She isn't Mrs. Shepherd. It's mambo, but no I haven't seen her lately"
"Why?" Mark look at him confused
"I've been staying at the trailer"
"What? Why?" Mark look at Derek "ohh no Derek. You are not looking at those albums are you" knowing his best friend, since Meredith and Derek got married he only comes to the trailer when he misses Addison and starts to look at those pictures that rarely happened because he was happy with Meredith so Mark thought.
"So what if I am"
"You've married Derek that was wrong"
"You know what I don't want to talk about it"
No one can control him anymore, to put him in his place when he's being an ass, there's no Addison to do that. Mark let out a sigh of defeat
"So I heard while I was gone I beautiful hot doctor has arrived. Who is she? What department is she in?" Derek smirks him about to answer when he sees Addison and Jake talking, laughing, and walking towards them.
"Just the day started to be good" Derek whisper to himself. Mark trace where Derek looking at and he saw her his best friend alive coming near them
"Dr. Sloan you're back," Jake said but didn't get a response from him, it's like he froze without any thinking he hugged the woman in front of him. Addison was shocked by the attending's action but instead of feeling awkward or dramatically react it felt familiar so she hugged him back for a minute or two then they pulled away. Addison looks at Jake he isn't surprised or anything and he just lets someone hug his wife.
"I missed you so much where have you been?" Mark said while pulling away, Addison who is confused didn't know what to say
"What's wrong with the men in this hospital you. And I don't know you"
"Honey this is Dr. Mark Sloan his head of Plastic here" Jake explained to her "Dr. Sloan this is my wife Dr. Addison Montgomery-Reily, she has amnesia so she can't remember a lot of people."
A long awkward moment between for attendings when Addison beeper went off
"Thank god" she whisper "that's the E.R I need to go hmm," she said while looking at the Dr's "I'll see you guys later" she kissed Jake and start walking her way to the E.R
Mark and Derek watch it and it made Derek want to take his eyes out with his bare hands. Mark who look at his best friend he can feel the fire in his eyes and if a look could kill Jake might be bleed out to death
"Dr. Shepherd I need a consult later. What time do you have?"
"Around afternoon" he coldly said
"Ok then page me when you have time" he also walks away
"Ok spill," Mark said while entering Derek's office
"What?"
"Derek I'm trying not to struggle you with my own hands! Now spill! What's happening here while I was gone?"
"You heard what her husband said. She has amnesia" Mark slam his desk
"YEAH I HEARD WHAT HE SAID BUT... YOU KNEW SHE'S ALIVE! YOU KNEW AND YOU DIDN'T TELL ME!"
Derek laughs at the irony that's what he said to Richard too when he found out the same reaction. Mark throw a punch at Derek because he was laughing
"YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY"
"SON OF A BITCH" Derek punch Mark back. Few punches were exchanged with both of them, people outside the office were wondering what's the fight Mcbrothers all about. When they calmed down they sat on the floor
"I didn't know how to tell you because I haven't comprehended it yet. I'm overwhelmed when I saw her again, I cannot believe that she's alive that I can hear her voice again, her smile, her red hair I was overwhelmed" he stop for a moment "I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner when I found out"
"It's not ok but I'll forgive, I know it's hard on you too. She was my... our best friend, on the side note she's back right" Derek smiled and nodded "Let's just make her remember so that we can be best friends again just like med school"
Derek shook his head "no"
"Why?!"
"She doesn't what to remember that time. She said it will only complicate things in her life right now" Derek stand up "let's just create new memories with her"
"Are you gonna be ok about this?" Mark asks, he knows his best friend still loves her even though his with Meredith. He knows that Derek just put his feeling for her in a box and put it in the bottom of his heart
"I have to be. I've been avoiding her though for the past month because I can't take it when she was with him. I like Jake his nice but that supposed to be me, that supposed to be my place with her" Derek sadly said. They stayed there till the afternoon in silence. The day went smoothly for all of them
