Two days later, Winterfell.
''Jon? You've been staring at the wall for what feels like an eternity. Are you okay?'' Daenerys asked him carefully. Not trying to overstep.
Jon took a deep breath before turning around to face Daenerys who was standing in the doorway. He looked up and saw her gently smiling at him. ''I will be once we're back in Kings Landing. I need to talk to Bran'' Jon said to Daenerys.
Daenerys took a few step towards Jon and grabbed his hand before placing her other hand on his cheek. She gently stroke his cheek with her thumb before interrupting the silence in the room. ''What are we waiting for. We should head towards Kings Landing. But different this time. No army, no war, no fires, just us, together. Facing him, once and for all. How does that sound?'' Daenerys asked with a worried tone.
Jon shook his head. ''No. Dany. I need to do this alone'' Jon said while noticing the smile disappearing from Daenerys her face.
''What..?'' she asked confused. ''Alone..?'' she added.
Jon stood up from the bed and stood still in front of Daenerys who had just pulled her hand back from him. She was about to take a few steps back when Jon answered her desperate questions ''Yes. Dany. You were dead, twice. I cannot lose you again. Not because of Bran. Not because of anyone. I need you to get to safety. Please..'' Jon practically begged Daenerys to listen to him.
'''Jon..'' Daenerys tried to reach Jons face but he turned away from her. She tried to reason with him. She did not want to leave but she was interrupted before she could say another thing.
''I should go'' Jon stated before leaving Daenerys behind in the room.
….
Jon walked out of his room and saw Sansa waiting for him. Sansa was leaning against a wall. She looked tired and Jon noticed the sadness that surrounded Sansa.
''Sansa'' Jon said softly. He took a few steps towards her until he was standing next to her.
''You're leaving, aren't you?'' Sansa asked suddenly. The hesitation in Jons face said enough and Jon didn't even have to answer her question.
''Promise me one thing, Jon. Please, stop him. At any cost'' Sansa said.
Jon nodded before speaking to Sansa ''I wish it didn't have to be this way, Sansa. I never thought I'd have to kill the boy I grew up with. Even though we're just partly related. He was always my little brother. I loved him. I loved all of our siblings. I miss them so much'' Jon said trying to hold back his tears.
Sansa turned to face Jon. ''We all lost so much. But if we don't stop him now, all will be gone soon. All that we love now. All the memories, everything.''
''I know'' Jon said softly. ''Please take care, sister'' Jon said before walking out of the room disappearing out of sight.
…
Jon left Winterfell right after his conversation with Sansa. He took a horse and made his way towards Kings Landing. He knew what he had to do in order to make sure everyone would be safe. Leaving Daenerys behind was one of the hardest things he had to do. But he knew it was the right thing to do.
Jons thoughts were interrupted by a rider approaching him from the opposite side of the road. Jon couldn't see who it was, but the person was clearly in a hurry. Luckily the rider wasn't paying any attention to Jon and he could pass without any problems. Jon was as careful as he could be because he didn't want to get caught by anyone.
…
Daenerys was still in the room sitting on the bed, frozen in place, trying to figure out what to do next. She had tried to plead with Jon. Trying to join him but he wasn't to be reasoned with. She knew he had always been stubborn but he had never seen him like this. Tears were still running down her face when her thoughts were interrupted by someone scraping her throat. Daenerys looked up and saw Sansa standing in the doorway ''You know he loves you right?'' she asked all of a sudden.
This took Daenerys by surprise and she looked confusedly at Sansa. Daenerys tried to find the right words but nothing came out.
''My stupid brother loves you more than life itself. That's why he left you behind'' Sansa added. She took a deep breath before continuing talking ''never forget that.''
Daenerys wiped away a tear before answering ''I don't understand..'' she mumbled between her tears.
''He's trying to protect you. You know, the first time when he killed you back in Kings Landing. I saw him once. Jon was put in jail awaiting trial after he killed you. When I saw him he was nothing but a fraction of the man he once was. I saw the guilt in his eyes and I know how much it killed him. I think a part of him died that day along with you. The second time, with the dagger was even worse. I found him right after he…. After he killed you again. That time I realized how much he would sacrifice to do the right thing. So this time, he made a different decision, Daenerys. He choose love, he choose you. He choose to let you go, in order for you to stay alive.''
''But what about him?'' Daenerys asked. She was worried about Jon sacrificing himself in order to save the rest.
''I just know he would do everything in order to safe everyone'' Sansa said.
Daenerys stood up from the bed and looked at Sansa ''He made his decision. But that doesn't mean I have to agree. He needs my help'' She said before leaving Sansa behind.
Daenerys ran outside. She looked around the yard until she noticed Drogon. ''Drogon!'' She yelled. She woke up the dragon. Daenerys made her way towards Drogon ''We have to go buddy'' she said before climbing on the dragon.
Sansa walked outside just in time to catch a glimpse of Daenerys and Drogon disappearing into the night.
…
One week later, Kings Landing.
Bran was sitting on his chair when Tyrion walked into the room. Tyrion walked towards Bran until he was just a few feet away. ''You called for me, my king?'' Tyrion asked calmly.
Bran nodded at Tyrion. He looked at Tyrion with a grin before speaking ''He's here'' Bran stated.
''Should I call the guards, my king?'' Tyrion asked worried about Bran. He knew Bran had planning something ever since he found out Jon was making way towards Kings Landing.
''No. I need him here alone'' Bran stated. Without showing any emotion.
''But why? That's not safe, my king'' Tyrion said. He tried to reason with Bran. But it was no use.
''Because, this will end one way or another. It's time. I know it's the right time. Time has come to end this once and for all'' Bran added before his eyes turned white again.
Tyrion looked at Bran before leaving Bran behind in the room.
Tyrion made his way out of the room before heading downstairs. He needed a break from his duties and headed towards the inn where he usually met up with Bronn of the Blackwater. Tyrion walked down the streets until he reached the inn.
Tyrion was about to open the door when he was stopped in his tracks by someone who's face wasn't visible because the person was wearing a cape.
''Going somewhere?'' The person asked sarcastically while still blocking the door for Tyrion.
''Move out of the way! Never ever interfere with a man and his beer!'' Tyrion growled out. He grabbed the dagger from his side and pointed it towards the stranger.
This made the stranger chuckle and slapped the dagger out of Tyrions hands before taking of his cloak that had cover his face before.
Tyrion looked up to recognize the person who was standing in front of him right away. It was Jon. Jon his beard had grown rapidly while he was travelling and it covered most of him chin and neck. His hair was a curly mess and was put in a short bun to avoid getting it in his face. But Tyrion still recognized the brown eyes that stood out.
''To what do I owe this pleasure, Snow or should I say Targaryen?'' Tyrion scoffed while taking a step back. He noticed the angry look in Jon his face and he knew Jon wasn't here to make friends.
''I think we need to have a real conversation, Tyrion. The last time we properly talked was when you convinced me to kill Daenerys'' Jon growled out. He was annoyed by Tyrion. Jon knew Tyrion would never want to talk to him. But he was taken by surprise when Tyrion actually agreed to talk to Jon.
''Let's talk. Follow me'' Tyrion said before pointing towards the alley behind the inn.
Jon nodded and followed Tyrion into the alley. Tyrion stopped at the end of the alleyway and sat down on a barrel that was sat on its side.
Jon stopped in his tracks and was a few feet away from Tyrion facing him. ''Why?'' he dropped out of nowhere. ''Why?'' Tyrion asked confused.
''Why did you convince me to kill her?!'' Jon spat out in anger. He clenched his fists. Trying to stay calm but he was fuming with rage.
Tyrion took a deep breath before answering Jon ''I was convinced she would've killed everyone in Kings Landing, Jon. She would've turned our world into ashes. Nothing would've been save. Nobody would have survived..'' he explained. Trying to get Jon to understand his reasons.
''It wasn't her!'' Jon yelled out desperately. ''She had no control over it!'' He added.
''What are you talking about?'' Tyrion asked confused. He saw the desperate look on Jon his face and tried to understand what Jon was talking about.
''Daenerys, never had any control over what happened here. It wasn't her. She…'' Jon mumbled.
''She what?'' Tyrion asked confused.
''She was controlled. Like you were. Like Davos. Like me. By the same person'' Jon blurred out before he just realized what he said.
''Wait what?'' Tyrion looked even more confused. He took in Jons words and tried to understand what Jon was trying to tell him.
''He.. it's all his doing..'' Jon mumbled interrupting Tyrion. Tyrion noticed Jon pacing around the alleyway trying to maintain his calm demeanor.
''Are you saying what I think you're saying….?'' Tyrion asked desperately. Trying to understand what was happening.
Jon nodded without even using any words.
''Bran?'' Tyrion asked.
Jon nodded again without saying anything. Jon turned around all of a sudden and walked out of the alley was while covering his face. He disappeared out of sight leaving Tyrion behind.
….
2 hours later, Kings Landing.
Tyrion opened the door to Brans throne room and saw Bran facing him. Bran didn't look amused and Tyrion noticed the emotionless face of him. ''Where were you?!'' Bran asked calmly it scared Tyrion.
Tyrion scraped his throat before answering ''Sorry, my king. I was out for a drink.''
Bran laughed at Tyrion and grinned at him ''I'm not stupid'' he said before dismissing Tyrion out of the room.
''You can leave'' Bran added while pointing Tyrion the door. Tyrion turned around for a second and was about to leave but he decided to turn around.
''Jon is right, isn't he?'' Tyrion asked all of a sudden. While staring into the empty eyes of Bran. His so called King. Tyrion noticed the ice cold look in Bran his entire face.
The silence in the room was interrupted by Bran ''Who knows.''
''You've been planning this all along..'' Tyrion mumbled out. ''You knew Jon was the rightful heir to the throne. You planned every little step..YOU''
Tyrion was interrupted by a voice that was coming from behind them ''Tyrion step away from him!'' Daenerys growled out of nowhere. Tyrion turned around and to his surprise he saw Daenerys standing behind him and Bran.
''Daenerys'' Tyrion mumbled out.
''It's time'' Bran said with a grin before turning around to face Daenerys. Tyrion looked at Bran for a second and saw the determination on his face.
''Where's our beloved Jon?'' Bran asked sarcastically.
''Right here'' Jon yelled out. Before the entire room turned silent.
