LOVE THAT HAS BEEN LOST CHAPTER 14
It was their first day of med school Mark and Derek was in a stadium for their orientation. There's a lot of people who enrolled in the school, smart people, people who have money. Derek and Mark look around to see if there's someone who they might like, Mark surely did find someone but Derek he was not interested in them.
Derek lost Mark when they were exiting the stadium he must be with the girl he just met so he just texted him that he'll roam around the campus. There's a lot to take into this place it's so big you can get lost when he saw a coffee shop then he entered, he waited in line just like everybody else when it was his turn he said his order and flashes his dreamy smile.
He found the girl on the cashier cute so he asked "you have a nice smile Ms.?"
"Meredith Grey"
"That's a beautiful name. Can I get your number?" While reaching for his phone
"Arghh there's a lot of people who wanted coffee too so move your flirty ass" he heard someone say behind him when he turned around he saw the most gorgeous red hair he's stuck in his post but he regained his sense and turned to the cashier girl
"I'll call you later" then he wink when he look at the red hair he smiled at her but she gave him a disgusting look
"Can I get a tall black coffee" she ordered
"The name put on the cup?"
"Addison" as she gave her the payment when she got her coffee she sat down didn't notice the men staring at her but there is one in particular that she noticed the one who was flirting with the cashier still gave him a disgusting look
"Hi Addison" Derek said
"Stalking much?"
"I'm Derek. Derek Shepherd" he reaches out his hand for a handshake
Addison smiled "not interested" she gathered her things and walk out of the shop and she went to class
She was the first one in the room she sat in the back row. Through high school, she always sat at the front and she was tired of it now things will change, she put her things down and lay her head down to try to get some sleep before the class starts. She heard someone come in but her eyes are too tired to see who walk in, she felt that person set next to her but didn't care she continue to take her nap.
"Please wake up the person at the back"
Addison felt someone shaking her when she opened her eyes she see that it was the guy from the coffee shop, she glared at him but he pointed at the front when she turned her face she saw that it was her father as their professor, she stand straight and acted like nothing happened or she doesn't know who the person in front of them
"If you're going to sleep in my class get out!" He shouted
"Sorry sir" she apologized
Then the lecture continues, she's trying to focus but the person next to him is hovering and it made her uncomfortable and distracted
"Ok that's it what the hell is your problem" she hissed at him
"Feisty I like it" he smiled at her with those dreamy smile
"Don't smile like that it's disgusting" she turns her focus on the lecture and so does he for a while anyway.
He likes her, she fights back and she isn't distracted by his good looks. He knows he's good-looking like Russell Crow and this woman is deflating his ego, he was smiling through half of the lecture. They heard the door open and all the attention was on his best friend, he apologized for being late he made some excuses then the professor let him go. He sat next to him, look at the redhead and Derek knows what he's thinking that's when he intervened
"Don't even think about it" he said in a serious tone and Mark got the hint his best friend likes that one. So he nodded
After class everyone was rushing through the door except Addison she stay behind because she doesn't want to be squeezed trying to walk through the door that's not a Forbes-Montgomery way. She lay her head down again she was so sleepy
"Kitten"
"Argh, what?"
"What's wrong with you?" Captain asks with concern
"Nothing Captain I'm just tired" she look around and see that Derek and Mark is watching them "go away before they start suspecting" and she stand up and exited the room she can feel the eyes of the two boys but she ignored it
A few days, months have gone so fast it was the end of the semester still Derek was being rejected by Addison multiple times. Though he caught her many times talking to their professor, it was like their hiding something maybe their in a relationship that's why she rejected him. She had the heights grade from all of them he got suspicious and he's going to confront her about it
He saw her walking out of the classroom when he look at who's inside it was their professor again. He followed her and she knows it she had enough of it
"What the fuck do you want Shepherd," she said angrily
He smirked "maybe she got a fight with her lover," he thought "why are you upset? Didn't get scored?" He remarks Addison stared at him confused about what he's talking about
"Come on I know you and that professor have a relationship," he said disgustingly though part of him was jealous because he want her to be his he was also pissed off so his being a jerk right now "look if he didn't give you what you need then I'll give it to you" before Addison can protest she's been attacked by his lips it was soft even though he was kissing her a little rough it, she felt sweet and out of control she kissed back
She like him too, time his persistence, his hovering, all the sweet gestures she started falling for him, and part of her wants to continue this to another level but can't so she pulled away and slap him
"Don't ever come near me again" she threatened him. Derek who is now confused stands in the middle of the hallway.
The semester break was over and the classes have started. Derek was excited cause his going to see Addison again he knows their classmates again, he waited 2 months for this. He knows she likes him too so this time he'll make things right. He waited and waited when the class is about to start he saw Addison come through the door followed by the professor that he suspected she's in a relationship with the plan of making it right went thrown out the window. She sat next to him that was their former sitting arrangement, in the middle of the class the professor started asking questions about cardiology
"Mr. Sloan" Mark stands up "can you give me the definition of the right-side heart failure"
Mark thought for a second trying to remember what's the definition "right-side heart failure develops when the right side of the heart does not pump blood as well as it should be, causing blood to back up into the venous system and limiting how much blood the heart can pump per minute."
"Thank you, Mr. Sloan"
"Can anybody tell me what is the indication of right-side heart failure" he look through the class no one wants to answer "Addison" the professor called she stands up she looked distracted
"What's the indication of a patient who has right-side heart failure?"
"The patient has edema in their upper and/or lower extremities experiencing fatigue and shortness of breath"
"What are your treatment and diagnostics?"
"I would run some test like EKG, pulmonary function test and for treatment, I'd suggest performing surgery to repair or replace the diseased valve"
"Thank you you may take your seat," Captain said and continue to lecture
"Got some private lesson from professor Addison?" He said sarcastically
"Don't you have a life Shepherd, leave me alone you don't know anything" Derek smirk and stayed quiet the entire class
When the class ended he's still pissed at Addison so he went out first usually he waited for her so they could eat together that rarely happened but now he doesn't. He went to the cafeteria to get something he remembered he forget something in the classroom as he walk by he heard voices arguing it was Addison and their professor he stayed to listen
"WHAT THE HELL?! YOU SCREWING A STUDENT MY AGE!" She shouted
"Watch your words, young lady," he said giving her a warning
HOW WOULD YOU THINK BIZZY WOULD FEEL IF SHE FINDS OUT?!" Before he could answer she run out crying. Derek decided to follow her again when he found her she's under the tree in the campus garden, it wasn't much visible to people so he understands why she picked this part to let out her frustration. He walks closer he can hear her crying louder and louder
"Hey," he said
"What the fuck do you want" as she wipes her tears Derek reaches out of his pocket and gave her his napkin, she looks at him and she saw his smile the smile she always wanted to see when she see that smile it made her smile. She gladly take the napkin, Derek sit next to her and waited for her to talk he doesn't want to push her if she's not ready
A minute of silence enjoying each other's company, they like it when they can feel each other's warmth it's oddly comforting
"He wasn't my lover" Derek look at her "his my father" it shocked Derek cause he doesn't know that it was her father and he talked about them so badly. He doesn't know Addison's last name because he never come to that point, he found out her name by accident when the cashier girl asked what to put on her cup. Now he just disrespected her and her father his worried a lot of things running to his mind when Addison speak
"Don't overthink, I'm not mad at you for thinking that way"
"Why?" He asked
"Anyone who will see how I interact with him would think what you thought" she let out a sigh "I just don't want to be the girl people think has good grades because her father is her professor so I asked him not to call me by my last name because that would give it away and when enrollment I don't have to wait in line so no one knows that we are related until now" she turned to look at him and he got lost in her blue-green eyes "so don't tell anyone or I'll kill you," she said in a serious tone it scares him so he nods then she let out a laugh
"Haha you're an easy to scare Shepherd" he laughs nervously
"What happened earlier that sent you running and crying?"
"I'm sure you heard what I've said but that part of my life is not yet to unfold for you"
He respects her decision a silent take over again then he has an idea maybe his plan isn't going to be thrown away completely
"Would you like to start over?" Addison look at him
"Yes," she said while smiling
"I'm Derek Shepherd" he reaches out his hand
She take it and shook his hand "Addison Montgomery" they both smile at each other
Addison wakes up finding herself in her office, she didn't realize she has slept in.
"Why is Derek Shepherd in my dream, is the part of my past?" A lot of things in her mind that she didn't hear the door open she snap out of her thought when the resident started to talk
"Dr. Montgomery" she looks at the person
"Can I help you, Dr. Grey?"
"I need a consult" she put her hands on her abdomen and Addison got the picture
