A/N: Please read and review?

At sunset, a small wooden boat with the Turtles, Casey and April on, moved down a canal.

April: I love nature.

On the right side of the canal, a beaver knocked a stone into a pile of wood with its nose.

Its beauty, its balance and perfection.

Casey rowed the boat down the canal, as everyone else looked around.

Nature reminds me of what I learned in school about the scientist Charles Darwin.

April looked up and saw a bunch of geese flying in the other direction in the sky.

Darwin believed in the survival of the fittest.

A eagle flies over the water, seeing something with fins just above the waterline.

He explained how life on Earth could be defined simply as the struggle for existence.

The eagle screeched and swooped down towards the water, when the fins vanished beneath the water. Two green hands then came up and grabbed the eagle, making it screech again, before the creature let it go, and then it flew off.

But, it seems to me that the struggle for existence is never very simple.

Casey kept rowing the boat, as April and the Turtles kept looking around.

At sunset in the countryside near the Jones' farmhouse, a large wooden log boat was on a canal river near a bridge, as the Turtles, April and Casey stood on a bridge.

"Well, what are we standing around for?" Casey asked. "The sun's about to set."

He was hanging onto a bridge support, as Leo sat on the bridge, looking at the canal, as the April, Raph, Cath and Elisa stood near each other.

"Let's raft down the river like we said we was gonna, and get this camping trip in gear." Casey said.

He swung forward on the support, then jumped down and landed near Leo.

"Yo, Leo, what do you say?" Casey asked, approaching him. "What's going down, bro?"

"Down?" Leo said. "The river I suppose."

Cath turned to them both, watching Leo carefully.

"Uh, yeah, right. Okaay, Leo." Casey said.

They both looked down at Donnie and Mikey, who were now on the boat

"Attention, ladies and gentlemen, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, this is the first and final boarding call for the U.S.S Turtlerific." Mikey called. "The most happening party cruse raft this side of...um...uh... Casey's Grandma's farmhouse."

"Uh!" Elisa moaned, facepalming herself.

"Tickets please? Tickets?" Mikey called.

"Oh, I got your ticket, right here!" Raph said, jumping off the bridge.

He laughed as he dived down and landed in the river near Mikey, splashing him with a lot of water.

"Ah!" he yelped. "Whoa!"

He fell over a sleeping bag on the boat, as there was one for each of them, then rolled onto his chest.

"Oh!" he moaned.

Raph, Donnie, Cath and Elisa all laughed as he lifted his head up.

"You really asked for that one, bro." Cath joked.

That night, Casey was roaring the boat down the river, as the others all sat on the boat, Leo, Donnie and Elisa with their legs in the water, as they all looked around - expect Raph who lay on his side, asleep.

"The river is so perfect." April sighed.

"And it's so peaceful too." Cath agreed.

"Yeah. Flowing just as it has for tens of thousands of years." April said. "Ancient, mysterious, alive."

"Gee, April, you make it sound almost spooky." Mikey joked.

An owl then hooted in the distance.

"Ah, what?" April gasped. "What's that?"

Everyone looked around, before an owl swooped over them all and hooted, making Mikey, April and Cath duck slightly, before they all looked up.

"It's only an owl." Cath said.

Casey laughed. "Yeah, just a barn owl." he joked. "Nothing to be scared."

He kept on rowing as April turned to Donnie and Cath.

"Sometimes...Sometimes Casey can be so cool, like now." April whispered, shocking both Turtles. "Focused and grown up. Mature even."

Casey then burped, but because he was holding the rolling pole, he couldn't cover his mouth.

"You were saying?" Donnie inquired.

"Well, he is holding the boat pole." Cath reasoned. "Can't let go of it while rowing."

Later, as Casey moved the boat further down the river, they all heard a bird noise in the distance. By now, April and Elisa had fallen asleep, while Donnie was going through some science equipment he brought, while Raph was fishing. Mikey lay against the sleeping bags, reading a comic book, while Cath kept an eye on Leo, who hadn't said a word since the journey began, and had had his back to everyone.

"I hope he's healing." she sighed.

Donnie held up two beakers, then poured what was in one into the other, as Mikey used a flashlight so he could read. Leo kept staring at the river, when he spotted a shadowy figure swimming under it. April stirred and woke up, lifting her head up as she did, when she spotted something.

"Oh, my gosh." she gasped.

"Huh?" Elisa muttered, waking up.

She lifted her head up, then saw a Nuclear Power Plant on the left side of the river.

"I-I didn't know that we lived so close to...one of these." April said.

"I saw on the local news they're closing this place down." Casey explained.

Everyone turned and saw a bunch of people in radiation suits outside the perimeter fence.

"Finally. Someone's come to their senses." April said.

"Kinda looks like the one on the Simpsons, doesn't it?" Elisa noted.

"It sure does." Cath agreed.

"Ah, yes, Nuclear Power Plants." Donnie sighed. "Once heralded as the future of energy, but they've become the Purple Dragons of energy production. Hard to clean up after, and even harder to get rid of."

He turned around, and saw cranes near the cooling towers.

"But it looks like those cooling towers have already been rigged for demolition. So this is one nuclear plant that no one has to worry about anymore." he said, as Mikey went back to his reading, as Raph picked up his fishing rod. "Any questions class?"

Beneath the water, a scaly figure swam up to the waterline, then some fins popped up beneath it, before they went back down, as Leo looked at the water.

"Hey, Leo, help me out up here, bro?" Casey asked. "Up ahead on the left? Is that the turn to Oxbow Lake that Master Splinter told us about?"

The boat moved past the left turn on the river.

"Hmm?" Leo muttered, turning around. "Yeah. That should be the way to Norwatakagi."

The finned figure moved closer to the boat from beneath the water.

"Nor-what-a-whate?" Mikey questioned, turning to Donnie.

"Nowatakagi. That's what the Indians that used to live here called the lake." Donnie explained.

"You mean the Native Americans from hundreds of years ago?" Cath inquired.

"Yeah." Donnie answered. "It means 'lake of the lost tribe'."

Beneath the water, swam five finned scaly creatures were swimming close together in a square - with the fifth being in the middle of them.

Later, the Turtles, April and Casey were all sitting around a campfire, with tents up around it - expect Leo, who stood by himself at the river's edge. They all laughed at a joke Donnie had made.

"Ha, got you." he laughed.

"Oh, yeah? Well, I got one for ya'." Casey said.

"Oh, really, Case?" Elisa giggled.

"Yeah. How come Utroms are always lonely?" Casey asked.

"Beats me?" Raph said.

"'Cause they ain't got no body." Casey joked. "Get it? No body?"

He laughed, then Raph, Elisa, Donnie and Mikey all laughed, while Cath turned to Leo.

"I wonder why he won't join us?" she thought.

"Hey, I got one, Case." Mikey said. "How do you measure an Utrom?"

"Hmm?" Casey muttered.

"In inches." Mikey joked.

"Huh?" Casey muttered.

"In inches. They don't have feet." Mikey joked, moving the fingers on his right hand.

They all laughed - expect Cath - before April saw her staring at Leo, who she then turned to. Mikey laughed as Cath and April got up, then they both walked over to Leo.

"Are you okay, Leo?" April asked.

"Leo, I can tell something's bothering you." Cath said. "Is there?"

"Yeah, I... I don't know, sis." Leo sighed. "Well, I...I guess I do."

"Care to tell us?" Cath asked, touching his shoulder.

"It's...I just can't stop thinking about the last time we faced off against the Shredder." Leo explained, clutching his fists. "That the only we could've defeated him was by blowing ourselves up. I couldn't protect you and the others, Cath, my master."

He punched his left hand angrily.

"I feel like such a complete failure, and no matter how I try to rationalize it, justify it, it always comes down to the fact that I wasn't good enough." he said.

"Leo, there was no other way." Cath reasoned. "The Shredder was too strong for us in that armour. It's not your fault."

"Yes, it is." Leo said, shoving her hand away.

He then spotted something in the river.

"Guys, look." he said.

They all turned and saw a scaly female mercreature pop up from the water, covered in blotches. Leo gritted his teeth as the creature came towards the shore.

"Um, guys." April said. "Guys!"

The mercreature approached the camp, as Casey and the other Turtles all got up.

"Huh?" Raph and Mikey muttered.

"We have company." April said.

The mercreature slowly approached her, Leo and Cath, before it collapsed onto her chest.

"And she's hurt." April said.

They all approached the mercreature, then Cath crouched down near her.

"Mikey, get my first-aid kit?" Cath asked. "It's in Donnie's backpack."

"And get me my tech-tab?" Donnie asked.

Mikey turned around and ran towards the tents.

"Sir, yes, sir." he said.

"Someone help me turn her over?" Cath asked.

April bent down near her, then they both turned the mercreature over.

"So what is she?" Raph wondered. "She kind of fish?"

Cath looked down at the mercreature, checking her injures, seeing the blotches all over her.

"She doesn't have gills." April noticed, as Donnie came over.

Cath leaned her head on the mercreature's chest, as Donnie put her first-aid kit down beside her.

"She's stopped breathing." she said. "And there's no pulse in her heart."

Donnie crouched down beside her, holding his tech-tab.

"According to my tech-tab, these markings, they're burns." he said, as it showed the creature's image and injures. "Radiation burns!"

"I kinda noticed that." Cath said, annoyed.

"So, what happened to her?" Elisa inquired.

"She's been exposed to a massive dose of radiation." Donnie explained.

"Casey, help me out?" Cath asked. "April, check to see if her throat's clear, then I'll do the mouth-to-mouth."

Casey got down on his knees near the mercreature.

"Uh, guys..." Mikey said, seeing five more mercreatures coming from the river. "..I hate to be the barer of bad news, but there are more fish people, and they are not looking happy."

The five mercreatures - which were all male - walked towards the shore, as everyone but Cath turned to them, as she was chest compressing the female one, while Casey held her head up.

"It must look like we're hurting her." April deduced.

"Guys, keep them away." Cath said. "We need more time."

"You got it, sis." Elisa said, bringing her Kamas out.

Leo growled and brought out one of his swords, as the five creatures approached them. He then jumped and dived towards one, who moved back as he tried to slice it, then it leaned back onto its back as Leo tried to stab him. It then kicked Leo with both feet, sending him flying towards the river.

"AH!" Leo yelped, before hitting it.

"Leo!" Raph gasped, as another mercreature dived into the river.

The first gasped as Raph charged at it, then body tackled it, taking them both into the river.

"What the...?" Mikey said, as one came up behind him.

It bent down on its knees, then another pushed Mikey over it, then it carried him towards the river.

"Mikey!" Elisa cried.

She began to run towards him, when another mercreature got in front of her. She then stopped and tried to kick it, but missed as it dodged, before it grabbed her arm, and then threw her towards the river.

"AHH!" she yelled, before hitting it.

She went down into the river, as the creature jumped after her.

"April, Cath, they're walking fish-sticks, they...they got the guys!" Casey exclaimed, as the last two creatures dragged Mikey and Donnie into the river.

Cath looked up as they disappeared beneath the waterline.

"You gonna help?" April asked.

Cath looked at the river, then back at the female mercreature.

"She needs me more than them." she sighed. "I just hope they can hold out."

She kept chest compressing the mercreature, when Casey touched her shoulder.

"Ah, it's no good, girls." he said. "The fish-lady's not responding."

"I can see that." Cath said. "But I'm not giving up!"

"Well, what about the guys? Those fish dudes dragged them under the water and they ain't coming up. What should we do?" Casey asked.

April stared at the mercreature, as Cath kept chest compressing her.

"Uh..." April said.

"April, snap out of it?" Casey said.

Cath looked up at her, seeing she was looking at the creature carefully.

"April, what's wrong?" Cath asked, worriedly.

"We...We are the last six." April said, speaking in another voice, which echoed.

She began to see an memory from the mercreature.

(Flashback)

A fleet of old warships approach the island of the Y'Lyntains, which had fires burning on it.

"The last of a once proud race."

A Y'Lyntain stared at a mercreature, which put its hands on its head worriedly, as the Y'Lyntain held a whip.

"We began as slaves in the lost city of Y'Lyntias."

The Y'Lyntain gasped, seeing more mercreatures his people had created roaring angrily.

"But we would suffer at...

The mercreatures ran towards the Y'Lyntain angrily.

"..the hands of the cruel Y'Lyntians for only so long."

One mercreature snapped the chains on its hands, freeing itself. Three more held up an Y'Lyntian each, as more ran around, including a child version of the female.

"There was revolt, revolution! I was but a child then."

She looked around at the carnage, then bent down and put her hands over her eyes.

"It was all confusion, chaos."

A male mercreature approached her, getting her to look up at him.

Later, both of them and four other males all stared at the island, while floating in the sea.

"I remember Y'Lyntia sinking beneath the waves, and my mother telling that we were finally, finally free."

The island began to sink down beneath the ocean.

Soon, as bubbles of water floated in the ocean, the six mercreatures all began swimming around.

"Our tribe swam the seven seas, searching far and wide for a place to call our own."

They all rose up from the water, then approached the forest the Turtles, April and Casey were camping at.

"The currents led us to a new, unspoiled land where we could live in peace."

One night, four of the mercreatures were swimming in a spring pool area, including the girl.

"Where we could spawn and raise our young."

The girl gets out of the water, as one of the males dives into it.

"Where we would be no ones slave ever again. We had found our true home."

The girl began to play with her hands in a puddle of water, then stared at her reflection.

Years later, now a woman, the female mercreature stared at her reflection, as two of the males swam in the water, while the rest sat around it.

"But we are a long lived people, and time moves ever onward."

They all saw smoke rising in the horizon. The female then peeks out behind a bush, seeing a Native American camp with a fire.

"Soon the fresh, unspoiled land the seas had led us to was not so fresh anymore..."

The time passes, showing people now with log houses, and a stagecoach moving along a road.

"..not so unspoiled."

Time passes again, now showing modern houses and cars, with kids playing on the streets, with cars parked as well.

"Faster than we could ever really believe, there was nowhere left for us to go."

The female mercreature stared at them, then turned around and ran off. Their swimming area was now covered in graffiti and dumped trash, as she walked by it, then passed a bush.

"We moved closer to the river. But it did no good."

She approached two of her fellow mercreatures, who were sitting by the river, which she then approached.

"My people began to get sick."

She walked into the river, then dived into it.

"The responsibility fell to me to tend the few remaining eggs."

She swam down the river towards some eggs, then touched one.

"Our last generation, our last hope. They cling to life, but just barely."

She swam around the eggs, then swam up to the surface.

"I do all that I can, but I fear it is not enough."

She surfaced from the river, then got up and sat down on the river's edge, curling up.

"I am only one, and I am so tired."

She looked down at her reflection in the water, then put her hands on her chin, looking tired.

"So tired."

A bunch of green toxic pollutants move along the river, as she lay down on her side, and passed out from exhaustion.

"So tired."

She was lying outside the Nuclear Power Plant, which was where the pollutants were coming from, as there was a crack in the dam wall barrier to the river.

(Reality)

April kept staring at the mercreature, as Cath and Casey stared at her.

"April? April? April, come on!" Casey said.

"April, what's wrong?" Cath asked.

"April. April, snap out of it! We gotta do something here!" Casey said.

In the river, Leo wrestled with one of the mercreatures, causing him to hit the riverbed with his shell as they grappled each other, before they floated along with the water.

Raph stared at another, which punched him in the chest, knocking him to a rock on the riverbed. The creature roared as it moved towards him, but then he grabbed it by the arm, then lifted it up and threw it to the ground. He then swam off, before he saw Leo slashing his sword at one, before he gritted his teeth and swam off.

Leo sent a slash at the creature, who then turned around and picked up a tire stuck in the riverbed. It then held the tire up like a shield, before Leo sliced it in half with his sword.

"Ah!" the creature gasped.

It then growled and threw half of the tire at Leo, which hit his shell as he turned around. Raph picked up the one he'd faced by the legs, then swam over to Leo and his opponent, then threw his at Leo's, knocking them both away.

Elisa glared at one of the creatures, who tried to punch her, but missed as she ducked, then she kicked it in the chest, knocking it back. She then turned and swam off towards her Kamas - as she'd dropped them upon hitting the water. She then picked them up and put them in her belt, then turned around, as the mercreature swam towards her, then she ducked and swam past it as it tried to punch her. They both then turned to each other, then she kicked it with both feet in the chest, knocking it onto the riverbed, then she turned and swam off.

One held Donnie up, who was tangled up ins seaweed, before it then turned around, seeing Leo and Raph swimming towards them. It let go of Donnie, then ducked as Leo tried to slice it with his sword. Leo then swam off as it turned around, then Raph whacked it with his body, knocking it away further down into the riverbed, then Leo cut Donnie free from the seaweed.

On the surface, April was still staring at the female mercreature, as Casey and Cath looked at her, Cath having stopped the chest compressions.

"April?" Casey said.

"April, talk to us?" Cath asked.

The mercreature sat up and touched April's cheek, shocking her slightly, before she began to see something.

(Images)

April sees the pollutants from the Power Plant going into the river.

"The responsibility. The responsibility fell to me to tend to the few remaining eggs."

The pollutants go over the eggs as they started to hatch.

A cooling tower began to crack open on the surface, causing more pollutants to seep into the creek water.

"Our last generation. Our last hope. They cling to life."

The eggs hatched just as the flood of pollutants hit the creek, and then the barrier dam wall.

"But just barely. I do all that I can."

Small mercreatures rise up from the egg shells, then began to swim off.

The pollutants from the cooling tower smash open the dam, pouring the pollutants into the river massively.

"But I fear it is not enough!"

The tiny mercreatures swim away from the pollutants, which quickly overtake them.

"Not enough. Not enough."

(Reality)

April saw the images in the mercreature's eyes, who the collapsed.

"Fading." April said, as Cath checked the mercreature's pulse by putting her head to her chest. "We're fading away?"

"Huh?" Cath muttered, looking up.

"Hey, you okay?" Casey asked worriedly, wrapping his arm around April. "What happened? You went all freaky on me."

"My mind's spinning." April explained. "She showed me so much, it's too much to take in."

"She showed you something?" Cath asked. "Like what happened to her?"

"I...I can't be sure." April said. "It's so much, I need to think."

(The river)

Leo swam up towards the surface while carrying Donnie, while Raph did the same with Mikey, as Elisa swam behind them all. Once close however, the five male mercreatures came up all around them, making Raph grit his teeth, as Elisa frowned.

(The surface)

April put her head on the mercreature's chest, feeling no pulse.

"No pulse, just like you said, Cath." April sighed.

Cath sighed as April turned to Casey, then back to the mercreature. Casey touched her shoulder as she closed her eyes, as Cath began to cry, as she felt like she'd failed to save the creature, due to her being a doctor.

"I failed." she sobbed.

(The river)

Leo tried to slash one of the mercreatures with his sword, but it grabbed his wrist and growled, before it gasped. It then swam up towards the surface, followed by the others, as the Turtles all stared at them, wondering what made them stop.

(The surface)

The five mercreatures came out of the water and walked towards the campsite.

The five Turtles all rose up and gasped for breath and stared at them all.

"Ah!" Raph gasped.

They all approached the camp, as the mercreatures walked towards April, Casey, Cath and their female friend. Cath, April and Casey all backed away, then the five mercreatures all looked down at their female friend. One then bent down and closed her eyes, then they all picked her up, four by the body, the fifth carrying both legs. They all walked back towards the river as everyone watched, then they put the female down and moved away, as her body floated down the river, then went under it, burying her.

Cath lowered her head mournfully as the creatures all left, as April began to think about what the female one had shown her.

"Wait. Wait, her burns. Radioactive burns from the Nuclear Power Plant." April said. "The eggs, you two, she was trying to save her eggs."

"Um, uh, what eggs, April?" Casey asked, confused.

"April, what do you mean?" Cath asked, confused.

"Her eggs, her babies. The Nuclear Power Plant, it's leaking radioactive fuel, right near where the merwoman lay her last eggs." April explained, turning to it, as the others approached them. "Don't ask me how I know, but I know, and we've got to try and save them."

Later, as birds flew off through the sky, the Turtles, April and Casey were back on the boat, as Casey paddled it towards the Nuclear Power Plant. Cath sighed sadly as they got near it, making Elisa and Donnie - who now had night-vison goggles on - turn to her.

"You okay, sis?" Elisa asked.

"No. I'm still upset I wasn't able to save that merwoman." Cath sighed. "But if we can save her children, it'll mean she didn't die for nothing."

"True." Donnie agreed.

"Uh, I don't know, guys." Mikey said nervously.

Casey pulled the boat to a halt near the Power Plant, then they all began to get off the boat.

"We've been to some pretty nasty places, being Ninja Turtles and all, but this place really gives me the creeps." Mikey gulped, as they stared at the Power Plant.

"What do you think, April?" Raph asked. "Is this it?"

He moved back as April moved towards Donnie.

"I can't tell." she said. "Some of this area looks familiar from the vision, but it's hard to be sure."

Donnie looked at his tech-tab, as April and Cath turned to him.

"What's it say, Don?" Cath asked.

"According to my readings, the workers have safely contained and cleaned up the area inside and immediately around the Nuclear reactor." Donnie explained.

"Let me guess, this is one of those good news, bad news scenarios, right?" Raph guessed.

"Unfortunately, yes." Donnie confirmed.

"Well, what's the bad news?" Elisa inquired.

"It looks like they've neglected to clean up anything beyond the plant itself, especially over this way." Donnie said.

They all walked towards the creek near the river, seeing the pollutants going into it.

"This creek's water is completely contaminated." Donnie explained, before they saw a leak coming from a tower near the creek. "The nuclear rod cooling pool is leaking into the creek, and, worse-"

"I hate it when there's a 'worse'." Mikey said, as Donnie turned to him.

"That dike over there, it's about to burst." Donnie explained.

"You mean, like when a dam bursts open and floods a valley?" Cath inquired.

"Yeah." Donnie confirmed.

April looked at the dike and gasped, remembering her vison.

(Flashback)

April, Casey and Cath all stare at the merwoman, as she collapses.

The pollutants from the cooling tower smash open the dam, pouring the pollutants into the river massively. The tiny mercreatures swim away from the pollutants, which quickly overtake them.

(Flashback ends)

"That's it." April said. "The river! That's where the merwoman's eggs are buried."

She ran over to dam, who looked at his tech-tab.

"I'm sure of it." April said. "This is what she wanted me to see."

She looked at the dam, as everyone else came up behind her.

"This is what she showed me in the vision." April explained. "We have to do something to save those eggs."

She crouched down near the dam, then touched it, before turning to the river.

"If the eggs hatch and the babies swim through that leaking radiation, they'll all perish." April realized.

"Then what are we waiting for?" Raph said, brining out his Sais.

He twirled them around as Elisa touched his shoulder.

"Easy, bro." Elisa said. "We can't go in blindly."

"Elisa's right. We need a plan." April said. "But with all this radiation around, we need a safe plan. What do you think, Donatello?"

"When they take down cooling towers, they're always rigged to blow up and implode inwards." Donnie explained. "We might be able to re-rig one of these so it falls outwards, and creates a new barrier, one that will block the leaking dike."

"Which will also save the eggs in the river." Cath realized. "Good thinking, Don."

"Yo, what about the radiation?" Casey inquired.

"The cooling towers themselves aren't radioactive." Donnie explained. "We won't need bio-suits or anything."

"Well, that's good to hear." Elisa sighed, relieved.

"Then the first thing we have to do is sneak in there." Raph said.

"Right, and like the three musketeers used to say, one for all and all for ninja mode." Mikey said. "Of course I'm paraphrasing."

Raph slapped the back of his head.

"Ow!" Mikey moaned.

"What is wrong with you?" Raph snarled.

"What?" Mikey said.

"And it's 'all for one and one for all' you blockhead!" Elisa snarled.

Five minutes later, the Turtles - minus Cath and Donnie - and Casey approached the fence around the Power Plant, then began to climb it. Once over the fence, they all ran towards a set of buildings. Raph then slowed down near a cooling tower, then the others came up behind him, before they all leaned against it.

Meanwhile, Donnie and Cath climbed over another part of the fence, then ran towards the cooling towers. They leaned against one, then ran across the yard and hid behind a bin, where a racoon was eating from.

"Boo." Donnie hissed.

The racoon panicked and ran off past both Turtles, dropping a banana peel as it did.

"Clear." Cath whispered, looking around.

Donnie took out his Shell-Cell and held it to his ear area.

"Okay, April, we're just about there." he explained. "Another 30 seconds and we'll be in position."

(Elsewhere)

April held her Shell-Cell to her ear while hiding behind a tree in the forest outside the Power Plant.

"Roger that." she whispered. "We'll signal the others."

(Power Plant)

Mikey leaned against the edge of a wall of a building, peeking out from it. He then turned around and motioned Raph, Casey, Elisa and Leo over, before they moved around the corner. They stopped near a door with the words 'Alarm will sound if door is opened' on, then Mikey's Shell-Cell rang, then he opened it up and held it near his ear area.

"Mikey's party line, who's your daddy?" Mikey answered.

(Forest)

"Cath and Donnie's in position." April explained.

(Power Plant)

"Can you say diversion?" Raph joked, holding a Sai near the sign on the door.

He cut a wire near the top of the door, sounding the alarm.

Workers in hazmat suits all over the place began to look around.

"Huh?" some said.

"What was that?" one wondered.

"Check the perimeter!" another ordered, as a few ran off. "We have a security breach! Everybody fan out!"

Other workmen all stayed put and looked around.

"What the..?" one said.

"Who set off the alarm?" another said.

Near the cooling towers, Donnie and Cath slowly approached the door to one of them, which then opened up. They both ran into the cooling tower, then the door closed as they looked around, seeing how big it was.

"Much bigger than I thought." Cath noted.

Donnie ran towards a machine panel with the explosives, then Cath ran after him, before they both stared at it. He opened it up and they both looked at the wiring, then Donnie began to fiddle with the wires, as Cath turned around.

"Hmm." Donnie said, tying two wires up, then switching two around. "A little creative rewiring..."

He closed the panel up, then began to work on it.

"..and we should have ourselves a new dam in about 60 seconds." he said, turning a dial, then pressing a button.

The timer began to count down, then Cath turned to him.

"I'm all done, sis." Donnie assured.

"Then let's get outta here." Cath said.

They both ran towards the door, which opened up for them, then they looked around and saw no one around. Donnie brought out his Shell-Cell, before they turned and ran back the way they came, before Donnie slipped on the banana peel.

"Wha!" he gasped, losing his Shell-Cell.

He hit the ground on his shell as Cath came up behind him, then his phone hit the ground, then he sat up and rubbed his head.

"Don, you okay?" Cath asked.

"Yeah." Donnie said.

They both looked up, as a worker got in front of them.

"Whoa! You two? What the heck are you two?!" he inquired.

"Um, just, uh a pair of little guys in Greenpeace costumes." Donnie said, getting up.

He ducked as the worker tried to punch him, back flipped away as the worker tried again. The worker then tried to punch Cath, but missed as she ducked and turned around, then rolled over to Donnie, who took out his Bo.

"Greenpeace, huh? That's all I need to hear." the worker said.

Donnie charged at him and whacked his wrist with his Bo.

"Ah!" the worker gasped.

Donnie then whacked his shoulder.

"Ah!" he yelped.

"Listen, big guy, we don't have time for this." Donnie explained.

"Yeah, so we're sorry about this." Cath apologized.

"So please accept our apology." Donnie said.

"Apology? For what?" The worker asked.

"For this." Donnie said.

He whacked the worker in the legs with his Bo, tripping him up, making him knock a bin over as he fell down.

(Cooling tower)

The timer had counted down to 30 seconds.

(Forest)

April, Casey, Leo, Raph, Elisa and Mikey all stared at the Power Plant, April with her Shell-Cell near her ear.

"Donatello? Catharina? Guys, can you hear me?" April asked.

She lowered her phone as Leo and Casey turned to her.

"They're still not answering." she said.

(Power Plant)

Cath picked up Donnie's Shell-Cell, as Donnie picked up the worker by his right arm.

"Cath, I need help!" he grunted, for the worker was heavy.

Cath turned and ran towards him, then put herself under the worker's left arm.

(Cooling tower)

The timer had counted down to 10 seconds.

(Power Plant)

Donnie and Cath moved away from the cooling tower, dragging the worker with them.

"Why did you have to be so big?" Donnie groaned.

"Come on!" Cath grunted.

They both then fell, as he was too heavy for them, then they looked up and saw Leo standing near them.

"Come on, let's go." Leo said. "Fireman's carry!"

He and Donnie picked up the worker like Fireman, then ran off with him, as Cath followed them.

(Cooling tower)

The timer had counted down to 3 seconds.

(Power Plant)

The three Turtles reached the fence, then they all jumped over it with the worker.

(Cooling tower)

The timer had counted down to 0, and then blew up.

(Power Plant)

"Fire in the hole!" Mikey yelled.

Donnie and Leo kept carrying the worker as they ran along, with Cath right behind him. They ran towards their siblings, April and Casey, before they all turned and ran into the forest, as smoke from the explosion came up behind them. The cooling tower began to shatter, then large parts of it fell into the creek, creating a new dam barrier.

Later, the worker coughed while on his knees, before he got up and turned to the Power Plant.

"Oh, no!" he gasped, approaching the creek. "No! No!"

April, Casey and the Turtles all watched from the treeline, before they all turned around.

"Come on, guys!" April said.

"Let's get outta here!" Casey said, as they ran off.

A Humvee then pulled over near the worker, then a foreman with a Geiger Counter got out of it.

"This is not a good way to start the day." he said.

He walked off, as the worker ran towards him.

"Environmental do-gooders, sir." the worker explained, as the foreman ran past him. "We gotta go after them and make them pay for this."

He turned and ran after the foreman, who held the Geiger Counter near the creek, seeing the radiation in it.

"Are you kidding?" he asked, turning to the worker. "Whoever did this did us a favour. This whole area's contaminated. We have to get a crew in here right away and clean this up!"

He walked towards the worker, looking furious.

"Why wasn't this area checked?" he asked. "Whoever dropped that tower may have saved a lot of lives! A whole lot of lives!"

He turned and walked off, as the worker turned and stared at him. The worker then turned to the dam, then shrugged and walked off after the foreman.

A little later, the Turtles, April and Casey were back on the boat, as Casey paddled it away from the Power Plant. Mikey began to read a comic and sat down, as everyone else stood around the boat, Cath and Donnie both looking at April, who sat near the sleeping bags.

"So, you think we did any good back there, April?" Donnie asked. "I mean, did we really save the last of the Merpeople of Y'Lyntias?"

"Well, Donnie, I don't know." April said honestly. "I guess we'll never know."

"Well, I hope we did." Cath sighed. "So their mother's sacrifice wasn't in vain."

"I know what you mean." Donnie agreed.

In the river, the eggs all hatched, then the mercreatures all swam off down the river happily, as there was no pollutants to harm them.

Casey kept paddling the boat as everyone sat down on it, going in the same direction as the mercreatures, away from the Power Plant.
