Betty
Betty knew they were in trouble the moment that Penny Peabody stepped through the front doors. Standing behind Archie did not feel like enough protection for either her or Penny. The last Betty heard of Penny was the night of the riot. The night she almost killed Jughead. Anger roils inside Betty but she pushes it down knowing it won't do her much good at this point. Archie takes a couple steps back and Betty nudges Veronica to follow his lead. They back up to the ring where the table is set off to the side and Jughead sits in the middle. Just looking at Jughead she can tell he is scared of what Penny might do. So Betty thinks hard and fast trying to come up with a plan to get everyone out of this.
"Well it looks like everyone is here. FP did as he was told and so did Alice. You all did very well. I would expect nothing less with how much you care for Jughead." Penny states smugly and Betty almost spits a quip out but holds it back. Being pinned between two enemies was bad enough but Jughead would be no good in a fight.
"What do you want Penny? What is the point of bringing us all here?"
Betty asks not for the answer but get more time to think of a plan.
"Well little miss detective. I do not have to share any of my plans with you. I do have a question of my own though. What do you get when you have three people wronged by the same group of people?"
Betty's brain grinds to a halt. Three? Where is the third. It is just Edgar and Penny. As Betty is thinking this she turns to look at the man who was here the whole time. Who from the time Penny had walked in had moved to restrain Jughead again. As if noticing the conversation the man stands up and pulls the mask off revealing his face. Kurtz. The shock hits Betty like a lightening bolt. This is Penelope's game all over again. Again she is going to have to watch her friends get hurt.
"Now that we have that settled we should get back to the game shall we? Kurtz introduced me and I must say I am excited to find out what the Hellcaster and his friends are going to do." Penny states as she starts approaching their little group again.
"You.. leave...t-them out of... this Penny." Jughead manages to say from his position in the ring.
"Oh Jughead, did I not tell you before that they are all a part of this now. They all participated in each of our downfalls. It is not jusy between you and me anymore. I have partners now and we want our collective revenge."
Betty listened to Pennys monologue but focused on Jughead. She knew he was coming up with a plan faster than she was, based off his first mission in the game where he purposefully lost to protect them.
"Tell you what little miss detective if everyone cooperates tonight in game maybe, just maybe you all will make it out of here. But first we have to wait for Edgar to collect our last participants."
Again Betty's brain pauses. More people? They were given specific instructions on who was suppose to be where. Her mom was to stay home. FP off on another run her brother the necessary documentation for escape. So who was left to collect? Betty looks up at Jughead and sees his face is as white as the mat on the ring. He knows who Edgar is bringing and judging by his reaction it isn't good.
"Lets get settled in then."
