Seven weeks passed extremely quickly. Either George or Angelina spent the night with Roxanne while she was in the hospital; sometimes both of them. Though their girl was only five pounds when she was born, she was still strong. A little over a month later, she had already gained two pounds and was breathing, eating, and shitting like a normal baby, which was good news in George's book. Since she was born, only George and Angelina had seen her. Due to the risk of infection, his family and Angelina's were not allowed in her room. Even Freddy hadn't seen her yet. George knew that they would have this one day to themselves before they were bombarded with family.

"If you need anything, feel free to contact us any time or just stop by," Healer Minos said.

"Thank you," Angelina said. "We will."

Roxanne was bundled in her arms, blinking up at her parents. George still couldn't get over how cute she was. When he reached down to stroke her cheek, she smiled at him. Healer Minos caught his attention when she handed him Roxanne's discharge papers. Briefly, George scanned them then he grabbed Angelina's hand. Within moments, they were in front of their house. Angelina offered him an excited grin as he pushed the door open.

"Boys! Stop jumping on the couch!"

It was a good thing Roxanne was awake because she would surely have been woken up by Katie's shrill scream otherwise. She did jump and give the cutest little stretch though. And it was just as Katie said. The three little boys were jumping on the white couch that Angelina had picked out several months before she gave birth. At least they didn't have their shoes on, George thought.

Freddy dropped down when he saw them; George imagined the look on Angelina's face had something to do with it. Crossing his arms over his chest, he gave them both an annoyed look, his head down and his eyes narrowed. They'd waited until the last possible moment to tell him that he was going to have a little sister, and he still hadn't taken well to it. The only bright side was that he usually liked going over to Katie and Oliver's so he didn't complain much when George and Angelina were either at work or the hospital.

Katie spun around when she finally managed to make her boys sit down. She was beaming and practically shaking with excitement. Angelina and George shared an amused look.

"Do you want to hold her?" Angelina asked.

"If you don't care," Katie said, rocking back and forth on her heals.

While Angelina handed Roxanne over, George peeled off his coat and headed over to the couch. Freddy was still side-eying him as he sat down, but he didn't make any move to leave, which George considered a good sign. Angelina took a seat on the chair across from the couch, propping her feet up on the table.

"She's so pretty," Katie said softly.

Then she came over and sat between Freddy and her boys. All three of them crowded around her, Freddy seeming curious despite himself. Roxanne didn't seem to mind that she was being gawked at; she just stared up at Katie, occasionally reaching for her long hair.

Freddy turned back to George. "Well, she's not ugly."

Coughing, George hide his smile behind his hand while Angelina rolled her eyes.

"Can I hold her?" Jack asked.

"No," Katie said sharply before George and Angelina could get a word in.

Hunter grunted and crossed his arms over his chest. George suspected he didn't like sharing his mum very much. Freddy quickly got bored with his little sister and climbed off the couch to hurry toward Angelina. Once he'd reached her chair, he climbed into her lap and started to tell her about the fort that he and Jack and Hunter had built in his room. Judging by the annoyed look on Katie's face, they'd done that without her permission.

Katie sighed. "Well, we should get going." She passed Roxanne back to George. "Oliver will be home from practice soon. We're going over to his dads' tonight for dinner."

After standing up, Katie turned around and scooped Hunter up. Jack leaned over toward George still trying to get a peak at Roxanne.

"Bye, baby," he said before hopping off the couch to take his mum's hand.

"Mummy, do they gotta go?" Freddy whined.

"You just heard Katie say they're going over to Oliver's parents house," Angelina said. "You know they have to go."

Freddy turned to Katie. "Can I go with you?"

"Fred!" Angelina exclaimed.

"Oh," he said. "Please?"

Katie snorted. "Maybe next time. I figured you'd stay here and help your parents with Roxanne." Freddy wrinkled his nose in disgust. "I figure they'll need you to entertain them when she makes them extra bored."

Freddy's chest puffed up with pride as Katie and her boys said their goodbyes. Once they were gone, the house was silent. Freddy was leaning back against Angelina and staring intensely at George as he held Roxanne. For her part, Roxanne was oblivious to the world around her, smiling up at George with not a concern in the world.

"What do you think, Freddy?" George asked, raising Roxanne up so he could see her. "Should we keep her?"

Freddy contemplated the question for several moments. "I guess." Roxanne choose that moment to start crying. "I'm going back to my fort." With that, he hopped off Angelina's lap and headed to his room. Shaking his head, George stood up and headed over to Angelina. She already had a bottle of formula ready to go and was shaking it up. George laid Roxanne in her arms.

"Well, he took that better than I thought he would," he said.

Angelina snorted. "That's one way to put it."

George bent down and rubbed his face into Angelina's neck.

"Stop that," she said jerking away from him. "When are you going to shave that?"

Over the last seven weeks, George had neglected to shave the stubble on his jaw, and it was steadily growing less patchy and more like a beard.

"Dunno," he said stroking it. "Thought I'd keep it around for a while."

Angelina rolled her eyes and went back to feeding the baby.
