Chapter 15
The Smuggler's Gambit
After the night faded and the party died down to only a few people staying at the sable, namely Selkie two of his sailors and a few other pirates who wanted to talk with him, everyone went to the crew quarters for rest. The rocking of the ship was not exactly comfortable to some of them, but the noise of the ocean did seem to ease Kiralexia a bit to a nice peaceful sleep. He only had like two more drinks before going to bed and barely seemed buzzed at all. He slept comfortably next to another pirate who decided to sleep right on top of him. He didn't mind and was to tired to give a shit anyways.
Tsuyu had slept next to a pirate as well and THANKFULLY this man was actually a rather still sleeper. She struggled to sleep but the pirate was nice enough to allow her most of the bed so it wasn't to hard. Mainly it was the idea of sleeping next to him that was strange. Sirius was in a solo bed under another person but she was a snorer.
As for what there beds where, a mix of medium-ish bunk beds, and hammocks. Makes sense since they wouldn't have the right money to get really big beds and the hammocks were pretty comfortable. Of course sleeping of the bunk beds where rather hard but seemed modified. You see these bunks beds were just hammocks with a bunk bed frame around them and REALLY tight. In short they just rocked around a little in comparison of actual hammocks.
When the morning was just coming and most were sleeping with some snoring, others quietly sleeping, and some snuggling next to one another for lack of beds and because of warmth. Kiralexia was sleeping with his left arm dangling over to Tsuyu's head who was still in deep sleep. Soon Kiralexia got a hand smacked right on his face and he awoke instantly. He looked down at the woman who slept on him and rolled his eyes.
He gently pushed her hand off his face then pushed her right off the bed. She awoke as well looking around very confused. A bit of drool was on her face and bed hair like a mess. She fell with a loud thud and most around Kiralexia and this pirate lady slowly woke up or groaned a little. Kiralexia looked down at the woman hanging over the bed and began to speak.
"That's what you get for putting your hand on my face."
"Oh piss off you dick, that was uncalled for. Now let's get breakfast while others sleep." she said getting off her bed and dusting herself off.
Kiralexia then looked around and saw a MUCH smaller group of people still asleep down here. That was a sight to see, since he expected them to be late sleepers. Yet from the look of things that was the opposite. They were actually pretty light and knew when to wake up in this situation. Rather impressive for this crew.
"Huh light sleepers."
"Usually we'd all be ready with only one or two still asleep but with that much drinking this is the outcome." the Pirate lady said beginning to walk away.
Kiralexia wriggled himself off the bed and landed on his feet with a rather loud thud. Metal on metal afterall and he immediately began to dust and straighten his clothes up. He cracked his neck and began to move away from everyone else. He walked up the stairs and went onto the deck
The morning had only just begun to rise and the clouds made a gray look in the sky. Kiralexia walked on the deck, where a few people were walking and tending to things and took in a deep breath. The smell of the ocean air was pleasing to him as he took it in. after sighing he looked over and saw the edge of the deck and moved to it.
He came up to it and leaned over it. His arms were on the edge and he watched the ocean. The sound of the waves and the sight of gulls in the air was something to smile at. For some reason he found it very soothing to watch. Jack who was on the bridge most of the time walked up beside Kiralexia whose eyes were closed and was humming Hoist the Colors to himself. Jack cleared his throat and Kiralexia looked back at him.
"I see you're up today that's good."
"Well one of your sailors slapped me on the face, hard to sleep when THAT happens."
"Ya I know who you're talking about, don't worry she's a doll most days." Jack said with a smile on his face.
Kiralexia chuckled a little and looked back out at sea. Jack joined in leaning at the edge, only looking away and arms on the poles backwards. He was watching the sky as the wind blew his hair around ever so slightly. Kiralexia sighed and looked down at the lower part of the boat thinking.
"You said you'd tell us what the items were in morning right? Well it be morning so explain what we're bringing." Kiralexia said looking at Jack with a raised eyebrow. Jack sighed and turned his head around before answering.
"I figured you'd ask that. Well remember this, I said that the cargo is valuable to freedom fighters. Basically we are getting this cargo to a local villain group in Vietnam."
"Oh, well I hope you don't have Americans in your crew." Kiralexia said looking back behind his shoulder.
"Snrk, okay that wasn't half bad."
"Thanks, anyways you were saying."
"Right, so as you can guess with this group the cargo would be, deadly. Weapons, big and small, hell I think we're transporting a technical to them, maybe not though I'm not fully sure. But the other cargo is, food, water, and other necessary supplies. However there are quirk enhancing drugs and a certain item we are delivering, one of expensive breed of black market items."
"And what would the item be?"
"I can't say right now as I fear your reaction would be, aggressive. Just know that the person who wanted it had valued reasons."
"I swear to the gods, if what you say is THAT bullet, I will not be pleased you chose to transport such filth."
"Hey remember I'm transporting it NOT using it. Besides, it's apart of the job and the sooner it's off my ship and my money comes the better." Jack said looking a bit sternly at the ground.
Kiralexia scoffed at that and looked back out to sea. The waves cresting the boat and gulls cawing in the air. Soon Tsuyu and the heroes who where apart of this woke up as well and came out to the deck. They looked tired and exhausted from yesterday. Selkie himself had bags under his eyes, clearly showing he hadn't slept last night. Jack looked up, eyes becoming softer as he saw them walk to him. Sirius yawned as she walked beside Tsuyu who looked horrible, with bed hair, eyes still closed and drowsy, as well as looking sick. Jack looked a bit worried at her and seemed to be concerned at her health.
"Hello you heroes, clearly you guys didn't get enough sleep last night. Also Ms. Asui I think drinking alcohol was a bad idea."
"You think? Also call me Tsu." Tsuyu said barely lifting her head to look up to Jack. Jack looked a little surprised but passed it off as he looked over at Selkie who was closest to him compared to the others.
"Glad to see your up, I feared you'd be like a rock last night. Especially since you seemed to stay IN the cafeteria almost all night."
"Ya well your crew seemed curious of my work and how my life on land is like. In turn I asked them there lives on the ship and I have to say. I'm surprised how familial this crew is like."
"Yep every sailor is like a brother and sister to one another. Of course some ARE a thing together so they don't view each other like that but are still close, of course."
"Oh it's SO nice that you guys are getting along but when the hell are we getting to this pick up stop?" Kiralexia asked outstretching his arms onto the edge. Jack looked over his shoulder and smirked.
"Right about now lad." Jack answered with a smile.
Kiralexia turned over to the front of the ship and saw an island coming up. It wasn't exactly a big island but did have many more ships around it. Perhaps THOSE where the reinforcements Jack spoke of. Not to mention Kiralexia decided to use enhanced vision to see farther than normal.
He saw the figures of people walking around and looking out to sea with envy. One man stood out for he stood still looking around at the other ships. His details where hard to see from where he was but from what he could see, he had a bit of an undercut and a VERY small beard. However he couldn't be sure and his eyes where also getting sore from looking around like this. He smirked and looked back at Jack nodding at the answer.
"Well I can say this, they definitely LOOK like drug dealers."
"Pfft, that a problem man?"
"Not to me, though I think it is to them."
"Don't worry the second we get these items off the sooner YOU guys go back to your, happy little live." Jack said mockingly scoffing a little.
Kiralexia smirked at that and looked away as he saw the island come in. he knew it would take a while but at least they were closer than he thought. After about half an hour or so, they arrive near the island and begin getting on the small boat to the island. There wasn't enough room to fit the battleship anywhere near it so the small boats had to do. Kiralexia had gotten on a boat with Jack and Tsuyu next to him.
Selkie road with Sirius and other pirates and where getting near the shore. One they arrived onto the wooden dockyard they got off the boats and onto the dock. They looked at the island and noticed only a small village with most of the island being nature. One massive building looked like a storage building was further inland and stood tall among the island. As they all walked forward they saw the man from earlier turn to them and give a stern look. He looked at a nearby man and waved at him to get something. Kiralexia leaned down the Jack to speak.
"He looks like a dollar store mob boss." He retorted getting Jack to smirk.
"Stay behind me, I'll handle this." Jack said, walking forward and met up with this man, in a rather casual looking attire. Jack was taller than this man though not by much.
"You're later than I thought you'd arrive. I had begun to think you abandoned the job."
"With how much it pay? Not a chance." Jack said. The man leaned to look over Jacks shoulder and saw the heroes and Kiralexia behind him.
"I didn't think you'd work for, heroes."
"I need as much help as I can get plus that one is Kiralexia."
"The very same man who aided in All For One's supposed death?"
"The one and only, now then, show me the items, for me and for them."
"Of course it's why where here afterall." The man said bowing a little.
Seconds later a large crate showed up right in front of them. Jack opened it and allowed the others to look. It was filled with weapons, pistols, rifles, even a few shotguns. Granted they are in a rather neat order but still kinda all over the place. Everyone looked at each other and accepted, this wasn't the worse thing they could transport. Another crate came up and this one had a symbol that showed, food. Upon opening it and yep it was food, mainly fruit in this one though others seemed to give off the scent of spices. Jack smirked a little before looking at the man and raised an eyebrow.
"These are all good and all BUT, where are the special items?"
"Are you sure you want them revealed with HER here?" The man asked pointing his eyes to Tsuyu.
"Better to get it out of the way now than later."
"Very well. Get those crates here." The man commanded to a nearby woman who was carrying a crate.
She dropped it right in front of the other man as he walked beside it and gestured to it. Jack walked forward and opened to crate. In this crate was a massive supply of many drugs. Namely red tubed ones. Quirk enhancers, something that made Tsuyu look away slightly. Kiralexia understood why and simply looked a little sad at the crate. Jack seemed to smile at this and then looked up to see the man now holding onto two briefcases with a small toolbox beside his boot. He showed them to his face and Jack took them. The man seemed to be smirking a little at giving them to Jack.
"There you go two briefcases and a small box's worth of the, item. You should know these items are rather rare, I expect you to know that personally madame. Afterall, you saved the asset that made them." The Man said with a weird smile.
Upon saying that Kiralexia and Tsuyu seemed to be shocked at that statement. Kiralexia's eyes dilated and Tsuyu was a little horrified. That statement they couldn't mean those. Jack sighed as he knew how they reacted and opened one of the briefcases. Inside where small red bullets. The very same Hisaikai made. Kiralexia and Tsuyu reeled from that and moved back in horror. How could such items still be around, why are they still being sold? Kiralexia was breathing heavily as he saw those bullets but Jack simply shook his head and looked up to the man.
"Where are the special guns for them?"
"Eh pistols are good enough, but in case you're curious one box DOES have the guns for them. Enough to supply at least two squads of this man." The Man explained gesturing with his hand.
Kiralexia was sneering now. Lips curled around and teeth bared. The thought that such bullets where still being used, that they somehow where still being made despite Eri's salvation away from them, it made him sick. He walked forward with hard steps and went right in front of the leader of this group. The leader looked up at him and didn't show any fear. That is until Kiralexia suddenly lifted him up in the air by the neck snarling with hatred. The leader clawed at Kiralexia's hand as he was being choked.
"You are using those sickening bullets. Do you know what torture went down to make them? A little girl used as a tool for a means to an end. It is sickening that you would sell these things!" Kiralexia yelled looking up at the man with eyes blazing with rage. The Leader was struggling to get out of the grip and many people on his side pulled out weapons and prepped there quirks for an attack.
"Listen I know what happened was horrible, I mean even I wouldn't use a little girl like that. But you have to admit, these things are damn good and valuable. Sure it's not permanent but people are willing for anything now."
"It's still bullshit, why don't we get rid of them right now?"
"Think about it Kiralexia, if we got rid of ONLY those items, our contact will grow suspicious and may not pay us. We just have to accept it for now and send it to our contact." Jack said to Kiralexia putting his hand on his shoulder.
Kiralexia looked at him for a second then scoffed. He dropped the Leader and he coughed as he dropped to the ground. He looked up catching his breath to a pissed off Kiralexia and got back up himself. After feeling his neck for a moment he continued to talk.
"Look, I don't like it either but I didn't make them, someone else did. Besides there synthesized from the real deal ones, bot as effective sometimes but, still good. I don't blame you for attacking me for that BUT if you do that again, I can't promise my men won't attack you in turn."
"Whatever just get them on and let's go." Kiralexia growled walking back to the small boat.
Jack closed the items up and asked men to carry them. He looked at the leader and nodded, knowing what he got was proper and of good value. He extended his arm out and shook his hand. The Leader looked back at Kiralexia and raised an eyebrow.
"He can still copy quirks right?"
"Well as of now I think he has chosen not to at this moment. But yes he can copy."
"So he doesn't have the little girls quirk. A shame really, if he had it, perhaps I could be the one with a monopoly on it."
"I highly doubt he'd do it. You heard the stories of what he went through on I-island."
"When it comes to Kiralexia, who hasn't? Horror stories they are. Well I guess no monopoly for, oh well, I can find other ways to get powerful in this black market trade."
"I'll see if he'd be willing but THAT'S it, nothing else. No promises he'll do it, especially now."
"Fine, have a safe travel Jack."
"You be safe as well, Aden."Jack said waving goodbye taking the small briefcases with him.
The small boats left the island and to the larger ones. Kiralexia looked away from Jack clearly upset at him. Jack didn't bother to try anything with him and simply stayed silent as he and the others went to the battleship. Once under it. They roped the boats on and began there voyage to the Vietnamese coast.
Roughly an hour or two had passed since they got the cargo and so far things had been quiet. Some crew members stayed in the cafeteria just relaxing and talking to the heroes on the pirates life and how just because they do illegal things, doesn't make them all heartless. Kiralexia stayed on the deck, calming down a little on the whole special cargo thing but was still pissed off. Jack had explained that the person wanted them to get him an advantage in coming assaults. He also explained to him and the heroes that the person in question was yes a villain. BUT he was fighting for a sort of city state or even region in Vietnam for more independence, lower taxes, and actually trying to repair the areas of there home region.
While yes there where other villains and, semi warlords taking land and riches, this one seemed kinder and more gentle at his reason. Jack listed off moments of this man showing kindness to his people and even his enemies, giving food and water willingly even though he could starve. Being in front of someone to protect them from another, and even saving heroes who tried to hurt him when they would die from debris falling on them. It was odd and rather peculiar but they seemed like a good choice. However needing those bullets was a stretch for Kiralexia, nice or not he felt no one should have those bullets.
Jack explained that the man is in the middle of a siege and these weapons and bullets could help break it and save them from starvation. Kiralexia scoffed and accepted it, still hating the bullets but being happy knowing they were being used for saving others just as much as harming others. For the most part Kiralexia stayed out of the way, only helping small things when he could. Kiralexia would stay around talking with crew members on some things, and just trying to keep his mind off of those bullets.
So far everything was decent. The heroes were given a better understanding on why these people where in this situation, Kiralexia had a rather nice conversation with one sailor who had a large beard and a torn up shirt, and Jack was put as ease. For the most part the danger of another seemed to have faded. However Kiralexia and the others still didn't fully know who or what they were going to face, IF they were going to arrive at all. Thus when Jack came over to check on Kiralexia, who was just sitting on the floor, Kiralexia decided to throw that up in the air.
"Alright Jack it's been what, two hours? When are we gonna see or even hear of this threat you're so afraid of?"
"That, that woman is a terror of the sea. she's a Pirata Lord like you and I, only she wasn't among the old Confederacy, she's new. For that she had proven herself over and over again to be competent and skilled in her leadership. Her main goal and targets are Pirata Lords and trade cargo, so we are a pretty big target for her."
"She sounds intimidating."
"Oh like you wouldn't believe. As of this moment, she is referred to by many, as the Whispering Siren. For her voice is considered as beautiful as the sea, but as deadly as the storm."
"Strange but fitting. If she is such a threat, why have we not seen her?"
"Perhaps we've gotten lucky or she just hasn't noticed us yet. let's hope we don't meet her today." Jack stated looking over at the sea itself.
If that woman was out there she would be merciless to them. Kiralexia still didn't fully understand BUT did at least know who they may face. He just hoped she didn't show up like Jack hopes. For one he was still not at full strength, and second from the sounds of it she has some form of sound quirk, something he'd rather not face. Kiralexia thought about this woman for a while before Tsuyu got his attention.
"Hey, you seem rather quiet is everything alright kero?"
"Huh oh yes it's just, this threat of ours is one I'd rather not face at this moment. How have you been Tsu?"
"Rather well, these pirates aren't that bad actually, there rather nice and respecting of us. Though there manners are a bit hit and miss though kero."
"Well that's a pirate for ya, sometimes nice, sometimes not. A villain and hero. Well manners, and not. What are there opinions of you though?"
"They view me and the others with envy kero. But they do seem to like me more, one even referred me as, a true honor to the hero name."
"Hm, good I guess, better than most at least. I was talking with one and when I mentioned Mt. Lady, he groaned and called her, a mountain of narcissism and a laughing joke of heroism."
"That's a bit much."
"Have you SEEN her. Clearly she ain't no Midnight."
"Eh true kero." Tsu agreed rolling her eyes a little.
At that moment a loud hissing noise was heard above them. It then made a thunderous boom right beside the ship with water shooting upwards. Kiralexia, Tsu, and everyone else was shocked at the noise and explosion. Kiralexia looked up and around himself in shock and surprised, confused what just happened. He saw Jack running up towards the bridge and got his attention.
"WHAT IN THE JUST HAPPENED JACK!?"
"What do think happened? The Siren his here and boy is she pissed."
"Oh great the one woman I DIDN'T want to see today."
"Ya ya bitch all you want just HELP OUT ALREADY!" Jack yelled out pointing out to a gun battery.
Kiralexia knew what do to and got up and ran right to the gun battery. He got to the battery and began moving it to the fleet which he now saw. It was four ships rather small looking, I mean the biggest one, probably the capital ship, was no bigger than a large corvette. He used his eyes to see onto the ship and saw one woman laughing maniacally on some stairs. Her hair was wavy and in a ponytail, color deep sea blue. She wore a simple hat and her clothes looked of leather but had a fur outline on them. Winter attire for sure, and she definitely wore it in confidence. Her smile was pearly white and she commanded with high vigor and power.
Sure her fleet was smaller than there's but just looking at her gave him the realization, that she really was tactical. A scary sight to be sure, one he fired at instantly when the other gun batteries fired. Only a few hit making minimal damage. One shell from the enemy fired and he looked up at it and dived away. It missed him and he looked an idiot slammed down at the ground. He looked up dumbfounded and shook his head. Jack came back down to the deck commanding running soldiers to fight on and keep the battle hot.
Next to him where the heroes and Tsuyu all lined up and Kiralexia joined them. They all stood to attention as horns blared around them. Jack walked line to line looking at the heroes with a hard staredown. They all looked nervous and up at the sky seeing salvo firing above them.
"Alright since all of you are sea like heroes I'll make this quick. Tsu and Selkie swim to capital ship and take the captain out, we'll deal with the other ships while you deal with them. You got that, alright go go go!"
"Really that's your best-"
"NOW!" Jack screamed scaring Tsuyu a little.
She and Selkie then went to the edge of the ship and jumped off swimming to the ship. Perhaps they should've waited till getting closer but at least until then the ships will be distracted by the fire of there own guns. Kiralexia was impressed with that show of power and smirked a little at Jack who was now turning to Sirius.
"You shall get to gun batteries and help load them while we fire them. You three shall aid in launching torpedoes. As for you Kiralexia-" Jack turned over facing Kiralexia face to face. "You shall do what you do best. Plan your own assault." Jack said with a smile.
Kiralexia looked over at the ships ahead and thought. If HE could aid Tsuyu and Selkie take the captain out, this would end more quickly. Not to mention Kiralexia could swim faster than those two could. Kiralexia came up with a plan and began to walk to the edge of the ship.
"They can't take her out without backup, so I shall be support to them."
"Great take this with you." Jack said handing him a re breather mask. Kiralexia knocked it back and smirked a little.
"I don't need it, afterall. Any quirk imaginable baby. OW!" Kiralexia howled a little jumping into the water.
The cold instantly hit him and he saw Tsuyu look like she was freezing up. He figured and swam to her and gave her suit a heater onto the skin of it. She immediately woke up and looked at Kiralexia surprised he had both flippers on his hands and feet, but gills on his neck. He gave her a thumbs up and swam right in front of him. He used his quirk to get goggles on his eyes and could now see where the ship was. He swam past Selkie leaving him in his bubbles and went to the ship locked on target.
Once he reached the lower half of the ship he clanged on and gripped tightly with it. He climbed up and his head emerged out of the water. He looked up and saw some of the pirates look down to see him and aimed weapons at him. He then lunged high into the air and landed on deck with water sprinkling down. He tilted his head up a little and smirked as he saw the whole crew look at him in awe.
"Greetings, and farewell." He said with a smile and lunged at the nearest pirate and grabbed him by the head and threw him off the ship.
He then looked over at another firing a pistol at him, with the bullets only dinking off him. He slammed his arm into them and made them fly in the air once again off the ship. Someone used a weird vine/wire like quirk to try and grapple Kiralexia. It worked a little but Kiralexia torn it off with his tail and kicked that person in the head.
He would constantly fight off the crew from each angle with mainly his fists and legs. Kicking them in a variety of ways, using his fists to slam heads together and punch them in guts, heads, and even arms. he'd even use his tail like a grapple and toss pirates around like rag dolls. Eventually the Whispering Siren came from the bridge and slammed her foot down catching Kiralexia by surprised.
He looked up at her and smirked at the woman. He clothes looked tight around the body but loose at the legs and arms like an actual colonial pirate attire. However the aesthetic was something different, something modern. She took her hat off and her hair whipped in the wind. She stared Kiralexia down with a pair of hardened eyes and lunged forward at Kiralexia with a scabbard.
Kiralexia jumped back onto his hands then back on his legs to sweep the leg on this woman. He missed and instead got slashed by the scabbard. He winced and instead high kicked the scabbard off of her, hitting the floor of the deck with a clink. Kiralexia got up and prepped his fists for a fight, the Whispering Siren smirked and laughed a little at the sight of him preparing to lock fists.
"I must say you're more different than I had thought, Kiralexia. This will be fun." She said with a smile and threw blows at Kiralexia.
He dodged and threw fists and kicks at her the same. Fists slammed each other, legs went high in the air, and metal clanged against flesh. Normally most humans would wince at slamming into metal but the Whispering Siren simply fought with more vigor. Kiralexia grabbed her shoulders and went into the air tossing her in the process. She went into the deck and looked dazed. Kiralexia cracked his neck and walked over to her, she looked up and smirked sweeping the leg with Kiralexia.
It worked, somehow, and he went to the ground narrowly dodging a foot to the head. He got back up and began to move and attack like a ballerina. Moving in elegance and twirling around dodging blows and landing hits on the Whispering Siren. She shook herself a little after getting a hard kick into the head and looked a bit bloodier. A small cut under her lip, a bruise on her head and overall looking more torn. Kiralexia stood on one leg spinning slowly with a smile on his face.
"The fact you kept fighting me despite knowing of my metallic skin is honorable. But still foolish, I mean you haven't even used your quirk for an advantage. Unless it's one of those pathetic ones, ah well this was far to easy to do." Kiralexia said springing up to the woman.
She looked horrified before smiling when he came in near face to face. She grabbed his head and screamed a high pitched noise. Kiralexia was not only surprised of the action but was beginning to get a little hurt from the noise. She screamed a little to before kicking himself off of her. He stumbled around a little holding his ears from the pain. The Whispering Siren then punched him in the chest and high kicked his head making him fall down to the floor still stunned. He looked up still a bit dazed from the assault and saw the Whispering Siren smiling with an evil look on her.
"Is that pathetic to you? Sure it's no Present Mic, but it's still useful." She said before putting her boot on his side. "Did you really think you could stop me right her and now?"
"Nah I was just distracting you." Kiralexia said looking away from the Whispering Siren.
She was puzzled by this before getting a long tongue wrapped around her waste and tossed into the stairs. She screamed a little before getting slammed into her own ship. Kiralexia smiled as he got up and saw Tsuyu, looking tired yes, but still being able to fight with a small smile on her face. The two got close and Kiralexia patted her shoulder.
"Great timing lass. Good god this why I hate noise based quirks, they hurt my ears like no other."
"Understandable now let's take this woman down, kero." Tsuyu said extending her tongue out in the air.
"Absolutely, wait, where's Selkie?"
"Dealing with the crew." Tsuyu answered pointing to the rest of the deck.
On it was Selkie laughing a little while he fought pirate after pirate. Kiralexia scoffed a little before looking at the Whispering Siren and attacking. He would throw a punch, miss and get kicked in the chin. Tsuyu joined and whipped the woman with her tongue. The Whispering Siren reeled back a little and Kiralexia joined in by landing a hit in her shoulder. The siren returned by punching him yet missed, instead grabbing Tsuyu's tongue for a second attack and tossed her away. Kiralexia sweeped the leg yet missed, having the Siren jump around away from him. He used his tail to whip her in kind and then punched her in the face.
Tsuyu getting up wrapped her tongue around her arm going in for a strike and pulled back. The Siren moved backwards before having Kiralexia join in and slam her into the deck. She coughed a little as her stomach hit the hard metal deck. She shook her head and took in deep breaths, looking back and seeing Kiralexia and Tsuyu beginning for a final attack. She tried to scream at them which worked by making them move away and she got back up with more blood and bruises on her.
Kiralexia shook his head before beginning to strike at her. She almost got knocked off the boat but took Kiralexia's arm and tossed him off. He clung onto the side and jumped up seeing Tsuyu jumping around the Siren's head and arms, trying to kick her. Kiralexia got back up on the ship and slammed his side into the siren. That move seemed to piss her off and she looked at them with eyes blazing with hatred. Soon after a deep breath she sung. Her voice was angelic and enchanting and the whole sky darkened as she sung. Kiralexia and Tsuyu looked at each other confused and walked up to her for an attack. That is if they could move.
They noticed they couldn't move and felt as if strings where controlling them. The Siren sang further and swayed as she sung to the two. Soon her voice felt like it was dragging the two down to the ground. She smiled before going into a verse on the sea and the depths. This caused a strange choking sensation in the two and they fell to the ground gasping for air and trying to breath. The siren walked up the Kiralexia and gave an evil smile, a single eye glowing in the night.
"Did you think this could stop me. My voice is your end and the sea your grave." She said holding Kiralexia's chin. Suddenly he grabbed her throat and got back up eyes down to the ground and breathing still slowed.
"You forget yourself woman. I am a machine, and I don't, need, AIR!" He yelled throwing her to the ground.
Tsuyu got back up coughing as she stood. Kiralexia helped her up and saw Selkie now under there feet. He was tossed over to them looking dazed. They looked up and saw a giant pirate crack his knuckles and smile. They were about to fight until they looked around and saw that all the pirate aimed weapons at them. They both looked nervous and slowly raised there arms upwards.
"I'm starting to think this was a mistake." Kiralexia said a bit of sweat dripping off his head.
"No shit, I mean did Jack REALLY think three heroes-"
"Hey two I don't count."
"Two heroes and a war veteran could take me down without any support?"
"They weren't alone bitch." A male voice said behind them.
They looked back to see two small frigates slowly moving beside them. On the closest one to them was a man smiling down at them with the crew primed and ready for a fight. The Siren looked shocked at the suddenness of this and even more pissed at how her small fleet was so easily subdued. For how else could they explain how THEY arrived here so quickly and with little damage. The man laughed and looked down slamming his stick down on the deck of his ship.
"Jack knew three was t o small of a force to take YOU out, thus asked me for back up. Now kick there asses boys!" He yelled out pointing his stick to the Siren's ship.
His men screamed out all energized with power and vigor. They all landed on the deck an attacked her crew. The Siren was pissed off and began running up to the bridge. Kiralexia looked over and was about to run up to her but was stopped by the giant pirate from earlier. Granted Kiralexia was tall himself so the Pirate was more an inch or three taller than him. The man was burly and had yellow snarling teeth. A low growl came from his throat and he crack his knuckles on there own.
Kiralexia looked him over for a second and slammed both his hands to the side of the Pirates heads. This did nothing but makes the Pirate blink for a second and move there head back a little. Kiralexia nervously chuckled realizing what he did and smile sheepishly at them. The man returned the smile and kicked Kiralexia to the ships edge. Kiralexia's head dangled off the ship and he looked down at the sea for a minute before getting back up and shaking himself at little. He looked back at the pirate slowly walking to him, he prepared for a fight. Suddenly Selkie and Tsuyu came up and began to attack the Pirate. He thrashed and punched wildly at the two and Kiralexia simply stared confused. Tsuyu looked back holding the mans arm with her tongue.
"What are you waiting for, get the SIREN!" Tsuyu said with her tongue out.
Kiralexia accepted it and ran towards the pirate. He jumped over them and smacked them on the face with his tail as he went passed. A sort of bitch slap before going for the main target. He looked at the Siren struggling to walk up to her bridge. Kiralexia saw his moment and extended his tongue to snatch her leg. His tongue was almost exactly like Tsuyu's however the end of it wasn't round but slightly pointed. It latched on and made her fall off her balance. She looked back and saw Kiralexia shrinking his tongue back to his mouth. She scoffed and began to sing to him again.
However something hit her lower jaw and she went right to the roof of her deck. Kiralexia joined her and would begin to strike at her. His fist made a dent into the ship as she dodged and she threw a puff of smoke in his face. He reeled back and almost got kicked off by the Siren. However he used his tail to stabilize himself and grabbed her foot as she went in for a final attack. She was thrown off her feet and Kiralexia got back on his. The two would fight each other for a few minutes before Tsuyu joined in and gripped her neck as she tried singing to Kiralexia again. She looked up at the now three heroes on the white top of the ship and sneered. Her hair was now a mess, and blood stained her shirt. Tear was around the sleeves and legs and she was breathing rather heavily. She smiled a little and soon laughed a bit before speaking.
"I must say Jack has balls to send some heroes after me. And you guys know how to fight. But now I must say this is where it ends for both of us. Farewell heroes." She said with a slightly blood tainted teeth smile.
She was beginning to sing, starting with a hum. However before it reached lyrics something hit her mouth and stopped her mid singing. It was mucus like and stuck all around her mouth yet stayed away her nose. She gripped at the substance and it felt very sleek and slimy. She looked over at Kiralexia and noticed his mouth looked like it just spat something. Then it hit her what it was. It was Kiralexia's saliva gripping around her mouth. She tried to scream in disgust but it was futile and she got kicked off the decks roof. She slammed down to the deck itself and looked dazed. Kiralexia looked over her as the two heroes looked at him in confusion.
"You couldn't have done that earlier?"
"Honestly, I didn't know her quirk was singing based. Also why do it and make the fight boring?" Kiralexia responded jumping down to the Siren.
He grabbed her by the collar and raised her above his head. Her head swayed as she looked at him clearly dazed. Her eyes dilated a little before relaxing again. Kiralexia smiled as he looked around himself. He saw many pirates under her command raising arms and clearly surrendering. Some even went on there knees to the ground, while others where still fighting hopelessly against the tide of Jack's crew. He smirked and looked back at her raising an eyebrow.
"You've lost woman, surrender now and we may spare thee of death, for now. Or continue to fight and die a hopeless death. Your choice." Kiralexia said with a smile.
The Siren growled a little before scoffing. She knew it well that she lost, and knew that if she fought, her death would be rather painful. At least on Jack's ship she'd die less painfully. Thus she simply nodded and raised her hands weakly up in the air. Kiralexia smirked and dropped her gently seeing that she went to her knees and looked down to the ground in defeat. They won and it seemed like a 'heroic victory' at that. He heard her danger, and even faced it yet they won with few casualties. Kiralexia would allow Selkie to tie the woman's hands together and raised her to her feet and walked her to the other end of the ship. Kiralexia looked over at Tsuyu and both realized they got rather bruised up in the fight. At least they lived the big assault that's what mattered, now onto the rest of the fleet.
After a few more minutes of fighting and firing of ships, the battle had ended. Upon arriving on Jack's flagship with the Siren he congratulated them and the whole crew cheered. Claps and whistles where around and they all smiled at what had happened. They had brought the Siren and apparently her most loyal crew members to the brig. Kiralexia retorted how it wasn't so bad but Jack simply looked down and told them to look at there fleet. One ship had a few fires on it, men and women where bleeding a little and looked badly hurt, and even the ship they were on where scuffed up a little.
Clearly this was more of an even fight than Kiralexia had thought. He looked bad and said he was sorry. Jack accepted and said they now had to simply sail to the targets location and deliver the cargo. Until then they could now relax and tend to there wounds. Kiralexia went with Tsuyu to the medical bay and got treated. Most of there wounds really were just bruises and only got ointment on them. Kiralexia cracked his neck got up from his table and walked up to the Tsuyu.
"Well I hope you feel better and get to see our little buyer. Until then if you need me, I shall be laying down on the deck or on a hammock. That woman did a number on me."
"Speaking of which, what will Jack do to her kero?"
"Well we'll have a meeting on what to do with her and the others after the trip. If you ask me, with her skill she could make a good member to the crew, or you know just dead. Anyways see you around Tsu."
"See you Kiralexia." Tsuyu said waving as Kiralexia left the Medical Bay.
And well he did as he said, for the remainder of the trip he would be lying down on a hammock. Swaying with the ship and taking a nap basically. Tsuyu would find him in the crew quarters laying down while talking of his life to the crew down there. It was interesting hearing his stories of both the Militia and the Pirata Lord. How he seemed to take any threat and leave with minimal casualties. Along with his brother Shadowsmith and talking of him like any brother would, yet then came, Rose Dawn. The woman from the training simulation.
He spoke of her in kindness and had said that were it not for her, he would be injured far more often than he'd like to admit. He said of one day were the two talked of there pasts, how he felt comfortable speaking such things to her, and her, strained relationship with her own family. From the sounds of things the two really were close, he didn't specify to hard on the details but it was enough to make it clear, the two were close and friendly to one another. How close and how much they were official is hard to say for certain BUT the two definitely showed care for the other.
After that he sighed and began to speak of UA and how life was for him there. Tsuyu thought it would be complaining and ya there was a little. However it was only to the faculty and some of the students he met. Most of it was respect pointing Tsuyu out as a good friend to allow him to come here and Mei Hatsume as truly someone with a hero in her heart to save his life. The Pirates agreed and spoke there lives to him as well, speaking of family, loved ones, and just simple things really. Overall this did feel like a family to Kiralexia, and Tsuyu noticed he had a smile of him almost the whole time he spoke and listened to them.
Jack soon walked up beside her with a smirk on his face. He looked over at Kiralexia as he was listening to one of the pirates talking about there old school days. He laughed a little hearing one moment of them flubbing up a flute solo and said he remembered messing up strings at the Militia and said it, 'sounded like something dying'. Then seamed to cringed when he spoke of breaking there leg when he was really young. Jack allowed it to happen before walking up to him and patted his shoulder. Kiralexia looked up at him and looked happy.
"Ah Jack pleasure to see you, what is it you want?"
"It's about our little prisoner, I think we should have a little QnA with her."
"Alright I'll come with. I need to learn her quirk anyways." Kiralexia said shaking himself off the hammock.
He stood up after falling to the floor and began walking out the door. He looked at Tsuyu waved at her and said she could come. Jack argued but agreed, saying it was worth her to see how they work out here. Once they got to the brig they looked over and saw the Siren looking down at the floor in defeat. She heard Jack clear his throat and looked at him with hatred in her eyes.
"Ya know you really are a pain in the ass when it comes to our attack just today. Now then we won't send you out just yet, that won't happen until after the cargo's dropped off. So instead you shall answer some questions for us. Give us what we want, and we may decide your fate as generous and forgiving. Fair deal?" Jack asked raising an eyebrow and hand out to them. The Siren squinted her eyes before scoffing and looking away nodding only slightly.
"Good now then, Kiralexia, would you like to start?"
"Of course, now then answer one thing, what is your quirk exactly. When you screamed it was like a banshee, yet when you snag I felt like my lungs where bring crushed. What does you quirk even do?" Kiralexia asked cutting the mucus substance off her mouth only a little bit. She looked over and thought of it for a minute or two before finally answering.
"Well it's a Sirens quirk. Whatever I sing to someone or a group of people that happens to them. A sort of illusion if you wish. Of course I can also lure them into doing what I want as well with my voice. It name is 'Sirens voice'. Of course you should've figured that out."
"Alright, I can live with that."
"Good now answer this why have you attacked ships on route to Vietnam?"
'Why not? I gain fame, fortune, and skills each ship I attack. If I actually got you, I would've been considered the next new Pirata Lord to rival the original. So much for that."
"Hmm, you've got balls I'll say that. Any allies, bases you operate from?"
"Allies are few and far. As for my base, it's up yo."
'Up yo?"
"Jack no!"
"Up Yo Ass Jack!" The Siren said with a visible smile on there face. Jack groaned and pulled her in close to his face.
"Where is it really?"
"I'm saying shit to you."
"Fine then, have it your way. That is all, we'll shall see your fate later."
"Wait really? That's all, that didn't even last a minute."
"Well it was mainly to know what quirk she owned. Other than that, get ready, we'll be arriving shortly." Jack said walking out from the brig.
Kiralexia was shocked and looked back at the Siren just as confused. He sewed her mouth back up a little and walked out onto deck. He got up and saw that yep the fleet was inbound for the coast of Vietnam very soon. He could see a coastline now, and even the brief outline of a city. That must be where they had to go afterall, the person getting these supplies was IN a city. Tsuyu came up next to Kiralexia and both looked at each other, realizing they'd half to carry the crates when they got into that port. Thus they went down to the cargo room and waited
Once a signal came to them about an hour or two later, they got up from talking to one another and began carry the crates. Tsuyu carried smaller ones while Kiralexia just carried two heavy large ones at once. Others joined in as well each of varying help, and they got out onto the deck through the ships internal door.
Once out they saw a group of soldiers standing out on the deck looking around nervously. Clearly the city looked rough, smoke was around in the distance and gun fired was heard as well. The soldiers in front was accompanied by one man in particular. His armor was dirt and worn, face showed age and scars, and his hair was matted. It was clear that this man had not bathed in months. He even smelled bad, like rotting sea food. He looked over at Jack who carried the, quirk nullifyier bullets. Kiralexia ignored it for now and dropped the crates off in front of the man. The man looked them over and raised an eyebrow, looking over at Jack in confusion.
"You didn't say heroes would help you."
"Well needed the extra hands against the Whispering Siren, ya know?"
"Of course thanks again for this, it will help us through the siege. And as promised." The man said whistling to one of the soldiers.
The got a briefcase out and opened it. It was filled with Yen, clearly this was an expensive deal. Since this wasn't the only one either. Three large briefcases where coming as well, close behind. Jack felt the money and looked it over, he gave some to Kiralexia who looked at it and felt as well. It was real all right, no fake or nothing, genuine Yen baby.
"Five million Yen as promised."
"Five million? I thought this was closer to fifteen million."
"Money's tight, I'll pay the full deal when I get more money on us. Plus that should suffice for now."
"Alright I can deal with this. Five million isn't something to scoff at anyways."
"Ya good riddance on those stupid bullets." Kiralexia said in a low growl.
The man looked at him quickly squinting his eyes. He leaned forward and looked him over. Kiralexia stared down the rather large looking man and noticed how starved he looked. Man he really was desperate than. The man nodded a little and leaned back up.
"I guess someone doesn't like those Yakuza drug bullets. Not that I can blame but with them I could break this siege and finally gain relief. Know I feel sorry for that girl and wish her good health. No ill feelings for her."
"Whatever just survive this dammit. I'm getting back on the ship Jack." Kiralexia said turning over to Jack.
He walked away while Tsuyu and Selkie stayed to share at least a handshake with the leader. They wished him good luck while Jack looked beyond the makeshift looking walls. He could see how difficult this has gotten for this man and knew keep moral up was hard. Thus he shook his hand and wished him more than luck.
"Ya know I think you can keep the rest of the payment. Like I said five million Yen is a fine amount."
"Nonsense you risked your life for this, the least I can pay soon now is three million more."
"I can live with that. However this is the equivalent of I'd say half a million US dollars. You know how to convert it for that."
"Yes, yes of course. Just make sure to keep supplies up and the payment shall come."
"Certainly, stay safe and keep this up sir. Farewell." Jack said waving as he walked back to the ship.
The Leader waved back and walked away with the crates in tow. Jack's fleet would leave and begin there journey back to Japan. However little did anyone know that something had watched them. Something that gave a message to UA, and now, well shit really is gonna hit the fan for Kiralexia and Tsuyu before even arriving on Japanese soil.
