Chapter 20

A Painful Past

After Kiralexia and the figure where far away from UA, they sat down in a darker part of the area and sighed. The figure took off there hood revealing it was Toga, of course and she looked a bit tired. Kiralexia however just looked dead inside, leaning forward like hell and just groaning like crazy. Toga noticed and asked him what was wrong?

"Hey what happened dad?"

"Nothing much other than I gotta fix a goddamn quantum break for the school!"

"Isn't that nearly impossible to do though? Also what?"

"I have to make little Mineta less little Mineta."

"Oh I feel so bad for you, I remember Ms. Mineta, she was nice though not subtle at all."

"Tell me about it, her son is SO much worse. I tried to gauge how bad he was around woman and, not even Ms. Mineta went to THOSE levels."

"I really don't wanna know."

"Trust you DON'T!" Kiralexia groaned a bit looking at Toga with a frizzled look in his eyes.

Kiralexia sighed before leaning his head back to the wall behind him. Toga gave him some water and he thanked her for it. As he drank he began to remember his deal with the League and knew Toga was there. Thus he decided to pry into that.

"Say I must ask do you know where other Militia members are. Specifically your Uncle?"

"No, sadly he seemed to have just vanish from Japan after the war. I only saw him again once 2 years ago, but, he seemed different. More tired and it was hard to tell if it WAS him. The only other thing I know of him are rumors of him back in his home country, but that's it. Everyone else also is gone, I don't even know where to find them, I miss them."

"I agree I to miss there warm smiles, and laughter. I know you view me as a father figure but now I am curious. What happened to you after I disappeared? What about you real parents?" Kiralexia said with a small sneer and sorrowed tone to his voice. Toga suddenly looked rather upset and looked down looking sorrowful at the ground.

"I'd rather not speak this but, I guess it's rather obvious but I did return to my parents, not by choice though. It was the only other option at the time, after you died Shadowsmith brought me to my old house and said our final farewell. I was forced to where a fake me for the public once again, until one day in school a fight broke out. You know how I get went I see blood."

"I understand what happened next so don't explain. But when the day comes I am going to have a word with my brother for doing that."

"Let it be just a word Dad, he may have gone against your back but he had a reason. He wasn't ready and thought my parents could be better. He apologized even, that doesn't show hate, that shows compassion."

"He still went against me and made you suffer for it. That deserves more than a few words."

"Then at the least, don't go to hard on him, he's probably suffered losing you and the Militia."

"Ya probably right, still you shouldn't have suffered for our mistakes, I am sorry for that." Kiralexia said with a bit of sadness in his eyes.

Even though Kiralexia had reunited with his own daughter, he still felt sorry. He had left her for what could be seen as no reason. Due to that, she had suffered under the oppressors instead of living with those who'd allow her to flourish. He still felt as if he could not be forgiven for such things, even though Toga made it clear she's forgiven him. Toga knew how he felt and thus put her hand on his and assured him he was NOT a bad father.

"It was in the past and I've already forgiven you. What you did was not bad it was the only thing you could do at the time. You have to learn to live with your mistakes and accept them."

"Easy for you Toga, I had been stuck immobile for six years yet you could move and make amends. I am so sorry for doing that."

"Enough with the apologies, they won't fix anything about this or your actions in the past dad. What will make you truly know I am here for you and have forgiven you?" Toga asked showing signs of frustration.

Kiralexia thought for a moment on that then remembered. He was gonna ask about the base hunting the League was doing for him as Gregor. He was unaware how well they were doing and if they were even hunting it anymore. Yet such a thing would prove to Kiralexia that Toga was willing to forgive him fully, and put his mind at ease.

"That Militia base." Kiralexia said quietly looking to the ground in sorrowed tone.

Toga gave a look to him and understood the feeling. Losing so much would have that effect of sense of loss and sorrow. Yet she knows not where to find the bases or even the main one. Not mention Dabi while has been trying to find one, has not revealed anything to her, making her feel stabby. Toga sighed before giving a response.

"Dabi is looking into it, yet he doesn't tell me anything about it. So you have to wait and hope he does tell you about it soon."

"Sure I've waited six years to see you again what's a few more days to find the relics of the past?" Kiralexia said a little sad but hopeful. At that instance a phone he was carry began to ring and he took it out to pick it up and answer.

"Hello?"

"This is Dabi speaking, I'm guessing you're Gregor correct?" Dabi asked on the other side of the phone.

Kiralexia couldn't believe it, a call from Dabi RIGHT after Toga told him about it. Yet Kiralexia didn't use his Gregor tone and voice like style so that was an issue. Kiralexia cleared his throat and began to speak in that tone lest he makes Dabi curious about him.

"I am indeed sir, a pleasure to hear back from you. Tell me why have you called me at such an hour?"

"It's about the Militia stuff you wanted. we've found a base."

"Really!? I was not expecting that so soon, but be honest with me sir, is it really a Militia base?"

"How would I even know? It's a damn old decrepit old building with plant life all over it and military weapons lying around. If anythings a Militia base it would be this."

"Then what of its size?"

"Small not exactly pretty to look at. Okay listen I'm not gonna stay here for long, I've already made a request for Twice and Toga to accompany me with you here but with the authorities hunting us I'd rather NOT be here for long. So get here soon or I'm leaving understand?"

"Fully well sir Dabi I shall arrive within the hour at best."

"Good see you soon Gregor." Dabi said hanging up and leaving Kiralexia in a bit of a delighted mood.

Kiralexia stood up and got into his suit and hat instantly. Toga knowing and overhearing what was said got up and smiled for Kiralexia's happiness in seeing this. Kiralexia stretched and put some gloves on for some reason and began to move out of the dark area the two where in. He looked from side to side hoping none saw him coming out with Toga. When he knew the coast was clear he moved out and beckoned Toga to come with him.

The two walked away from the area around UA with smiles, knowing that the past shall be revealed to them soon. However something from the dark was watching, something keeping a close eye on Kiralexia. It was a camera sure but who was on the other end? Well non other than Eri, she was given this task to make sure Kiralexia wasn't doing something stupid. She was convinced to do it by a bag of candy, and thus did this for an unknown amount of time. She saw Kiralexia walking away with Toga and thus told Aizawa about it.

He congratulated her for keeping such a good eye and said that as of now nothing will happen to them. In turn he gave her a piece of candy as thanks and walked away to the camera. Sure Kiralexia wasn't doing anything bad now, but why was he walking away from the school with Toga. They already made the deal clear that any deals with the League was fine so long as no one knew it. Yet this, could it be the strange deal he made with them that Jirou spoke of? He couldn't know for sure, so he would let it slide for now, but would keep a record of it.

Side not for those curious, Kiralexia is now clean shaven. He had removed the beard, or at least trimmed it down around a week or so ago after the Pirate incident because he found it, nice but REALLY warm. After keeping it trimmed for about a day, he got rid of it and felt much better about himself. He had decided to keep a bit of his hair, though it was rather short, accept in the back. While he has kept it for now, he has expressed ideas to remove it, BUT Eri's sad eyes of not being able to braid his hair and make it look pretty, made him keep it. He plans on removing it, but now and not in front of Eri. Other than that Kiralexia and Toga have begun to move to there destination. The past will call to them.
