As the others left not knowing they were leaving Shanti behind. So now she was all alone in the jungle. But Shanti was brave and she knew she was not scared.

Shanti: (sighs) Well i'm all alone. But i am not afraid of this jungle. I am a very brave girl.

So as Shanti started to get the hang of it there was a rustling sound in the bushes.

Shanti: (gasps)

Shanti watched in fear as she was wondering who was coming out of the bushes ready to scare her. But she remembered she was brave and knew nothing would hurt her. Soon Shanti picked up a stick and started glared at the unknown threat coming in.

Shanti: Okay you! Come right on out here and show yourself!

And who should come out of the bushes but a cute little jackal pup. The pup came up to Shanti and stared at her with big cute eyes. Shanti put the stick down and smiled.

Shanti: (chuckles) Oh! So are you the one who did all the fuss about. Mom! Mom quick!

But it was too late the grown ups and Ranjan were already on their way. So now it was just Shanti all alone with the jackal pup.

Shanti: Well now you sure are a cute little thing. I guess you want me to play with you.

But the pup only wanted the food that Shanti kept in her backpack.

Shanti: Is this what you wanted? My snacks in my backpack? No! I am not giving you my food. Come on now beat it! Now shoo! Just shoo! Go on shoo I said! Go away and leave me alone for good! Go along little doggy!

But the pup wasn't even listening to her. Finally Shanti had enough of it.

Shanti: Oh That's it! I'm gonna be giving you to the count of three to get away from me and leave me and my snacks alone! One... Two... Two and a half..

Suddenly Shanti had got herself a very brilliant idea.

Shanti: Well okay I guess you can have my food.

Then she gave him her backpack full of food. But she then had an idea to fool the pup.

Shanti: Ooh look! There's some dogbane right behind you.

The pup turned around and Shanti took her backpack back from the pup.

Shanti: (Laughing) Oh I can't even believe you actually fell for that one!

The pup just found out he was tricked. Then the pup whimpered feeling very hurt and started crying feeling very sad.

Shanti: Oh no no no. Please don't even try to give me those very sad looking puppy eyes and tears. I mean what would your parents and all of the other members of your family have to say about this?

Just then a very sinister growl was heard. Shanti gasped and turned around and she saw the pups mother father brothers sisters and other members of the family. They started to growl snarl in anger as they and the pup licked their chops as they themselves were all thinking about inviting Shanti for lunch.

Shanti: Oh! Well now i understand. They're all very cross at me not you but me. But if you and your family want to have me for dinner just remember go easy on your young one. Children will be children after all.

But the jackals were about to attack Shanti so Shanti figured she she had to run for it. Mowgli who realized she was in trouble had to rescue her. Mowgli ran on the tree branches and then grabbed some vines to catch up to her. As Shanti continued running in fear she saw a cliff. She then looked at the jackals.

Shanti: Stay away from me or i'll jump! I've got a choice for this.

As Shanti ran to the edge of the cliff she was prepared to jump and as she jump she found out it looked like she was flying.

Shanti: Huh? I'm flying! Why on earth am I..

She then looked up and gasped and screamed in fear when she saw Mowgli grabbing onto her backpack. And soon Mowgli landed safely on the ground.
