Anne and Dan were about to pack, as they wanted to escape the city, as Eddie recommended.

Anne was locking the cat in his cat box and setting him down on the table for Dan to put in the car. She took over the packing of the things that they would probably need in the near future and really only took the bare essentials, but it was still a lot of luggage. Anne was so deep in her thoughts that she didn't hear Mr. Belvedere snarl and duck into the far corner of his box.

She turned around and wanted to call out something to Dan when she noticed that he wasn't coming up the stairs, but a strange woman in a yellow coat who was now standing in front of her.

»Where's Eddie Brock?«, she asked.

»I won't tell you that.« Anne replied with such fervor that the woman's mood suddenly plummeted.

»Too bad, I already had to knock out your fiancé. I didn't want to hurt you too.« Her look and the intonation of the words said it was a lie.

»It's a shame to hurt you. But then I hope my fiancé will be happy with you for the time being, too, until your boyfriend gets here.« Anne couldn't even react before she reached out and punched her in the head.

Eddie and Venom finally got to Anne's apartment and burst in through the door, which was terrifyingly open.

When they got to the top, they found Dan unconscious leaning against the wall. Anne was nowhere to be found. Eddie ran up to him and took the glass of water from the table and threw it all in his face. Dan jumped and looked puzzled when he saw who was standing in front of him.

»Eddie«, he stammered. Dan had to calm down first and wanted to get up. Eddie gave him his hand and helped him up.

»Where's Anne?!«

»They kidnapped her.« He looked depressed.

»SHIT!«, Eddie yelled, causing Dan to retreat in fright

»Do you know where they were going?«, was all he asked.

He shook his head.

Alex, on the other hand, was about to find out. She'd gone through the papers again specifically reading through everything to do with marriage and she'd noticed that it was all about that. Besides, she thought the woman had taken the ring for a special purpose only. And she had seen this cliché in movies, but: they needed a secret hiding place.

So now she called Eddie to tell them what she had found.

»Eddie! I got it. Now I know where they are!«

She could hardly be stopped.

»What, where from?«, he asked completely surprised.

»Remember when I asked who he could mean by the angel?« She didn't wait for his reaction.

»I went through all the papers again and found out that he wanted to marry her, but of course that didn't happen. The woman earlier took the ring, so I think that's exactly what they're going to do now! So I looked for all the churches in the city and found out that Grace Cathedral is being renovated and is therefore closed. I'm assuming they want privacy and that's why they're there!«

He was surprised. That was good journalistic work that she did there and it sounded for two disturbed people absolutely understandable.

»Okay, then stay where you are. They kidnapped Anne!«

He didn't wait for her reaction either and hung up so they could be on their way as quickly as possible. He had no idea that she wasn't in the apartment anymore and had only told him when she got to the cathedral to see for herself. She put her phone away and put it on silent. She had seen too many times in films that the protagonist was caught by the villain the moment the phone rang. She smiled, because of course she thought of something so banal in such a dangerous situation, but that also helped her to keep her pulse down a little.

Alex walked to the side of the large church and opened a door so carefully it didn't even stand a chance of creaking and went inside. She bent down and crawled behind the tarp of the scaffolding, which gave her some privacy. Finally finding a suitable corner, she peeked out and studied the altar.

There were lit candles on it and rose petals were scattered on the floor. That meant with 100% certainty that she was right: They were here.

When she realized this, she felt a little dizzy. Only now did she realize that she was in absolutely mortal danger and that it was her own fault. Also, like in every movie. The protagonist of the story always got himself into such situations and she of all people always thought how stupid and unrealistic it actually was. Now she knew better.

She'd been so distracted by her own thoughts that she couldn't even hear the noises behind her, but by the time she saw the shadow from the light of the lamps growing larger, it was too late.

»Nice that you came after all.«

She let out a scream that echoed throughout the church.

He bound her hands and feet with his own slimy substance, which she found very repulsive, and placed her next to Anne, who he had placed in a small side wing.

»Later we'll go on a little trip«, he said, turning to Alex.

»I'm not going anywhere with you! Eddie and Venom will find us and then they'll kick your ass for all those murders!«, she fired at him, but he just laughed.

»I have some preparations to make, so behave yourself«, Cletus snapped and disappeared.

When they were alone, Anne turned to her.

»So you know Eddie and Venom?«, she asked, puzzled.

»Yes, they saved me from him. So you are Anne? Eddie has a photo of you on his desk«, Anne smiled sheepishly, and Alex realized that maybe she shouldn't have shared that little piece of information with her, but it was too late for that.

As the two got to know each other in the most absurd setting imaginable, Eddie and Venom made their way over to them.

In front of the church, they discovered that a woman, as Dan described her, was walking towards the door in a black dress.

Venom snuck up, grabbed her and was about to eat her immediately when she let out a scream, the high frequencies of which caused the two to suffer instantaneous agony, causing Venom to release her and push her away with a tentacle. She hit her head on the wall of the building and fell unconscious to the ground. Eddie meanwhile tried to get up as Venom had pulled back for protection. Of course, that only helped to a limited extent, since Eddie had still gotten the frequencies and both shared their pain. He slowly got up and disappeared into Venom's body, which had recovered. He picked her up again and was about to eat her when Eddie told him to stop.

»But she kidnapped Anne!«, Venom replied sullenly.

»Yes, that's exactly why. If Cletus wants to marry her, I'm sure he'd give Anne for her too.«

»Mmm, I don't know. She looks delicious.«

He looked at her not without noticing that she was wearing the ring. He took it from her and let it disappear in his hand. Then he went to the entrance and demonstratively kicked open the door and looked into the cathedral.

Almost at the other end was Carnage, who was hiding Detective Mulligan behind the altar as a surprise for Shriek. He had tied him up with a simple rope so she would have an easy time killing him afterwards. He looked up and saw Venom with Shriek in its claws.

»WHERE IS SHE?«, he yelled at his offspring, who smiled mischievously and sent out two tentacles that came back with Anne and Alex.

»Who do you mean?«, he asked devilishly.

»Great«, Eddie muttered in his head.

»Both«, Venom said firmly.

Carnage looked at him laughing as Shriek woke up in his claws. Then she let out another scream, but this time it also hit Carnage.

Venom dropped her and they both screamed in pain until both were nearly separated, but Carnage squirmed too. He wasn't quite as sensitive to high frequencies, but it was enough to let go of Anne and Alex, who he brought back into the small side wing in time. He then turned on Shriek and angrily started to attack, but then he too was on the ground writhing in agony and retreated.

Seeing this, she stopped and rushed to his aid, much to the good fortune of Eddie and Venom, who were both on the ground and able to recover. Carnage was now roaring at her in revenge.

Meanwhile, Detective Mulligan had managed to free himself by taking his bunch of keys out of his pocket and using the sharpest one he had as a knife, laboriously cutting the rope.

He raised his head briefly to get an overview of the situation. He only saw Carnage and Shriek as Eddie was still on the ground and was covered by a bench. Mulligan drew his gun and started firing at the red monster, but it just looked up and glared at him.

»My cop«, Shriek replied, running after him.

And so he turned back to Eddie, who slowly began to stand up. He looked up and only now realized how big Carnage was, now that he was seeing him from a much lower position.

»V? This would be the perfect opportunity to come out again«, Eddie said slowly, not taking his eyes off the monster in front of him.

»No«, the latter said firmly, however.

»What do you mean NO?«, cried Eddie in amazement.

»We won't stand a chance«, Venom replied quietly, with fear in his voice.

»That's what you said last time too!«

Nothing happened and Carnage tilted his head questioningly, but he didn't attack.

»All right.«

Venom formed his body again and Eddie disappeared into it. This is what Carnage had been waiting for, as he charged the two of them head-on.

He slammed Venom to the ground, who pushed him up with his legs and Carnage flew away. He spins in mid-air and casually hangs on the wall, digging his claws deep into it, then pushing off and jumping to Venom. However, he dodged and took one of the benches and threw them at him. This moment, while Carnage was busy, he used to launch an attack from above, attacking him with claws and fangs. He was about to transport Venom to the other side of the cathedral. As soon as he landed, Carnage was already there, slowly ramming his claws into his back. Venom yelped and grabbed him with his hands and pulled him forward, crashing into a pillar. It collapsed and fell on him in chunks of concrete. He paused, waiting for Carnage to react, who leaped frantically from the pile and stabbed Venom with two spear-shaped tentacles. He managed to dodge one, but was hit in the shoulder by the second. He picked him up, but Venom fought back by taking a large rock and hitting it on Carnage's head.

Detective Mulligan meanwhile had climbed up onto the scaffolding, unable to find an exit and Shriek behind him. He pulled out his radio and was just able to press the button when Shriek stabbed him in the shoulder from behind with an iron bar she had found. Mulligan cried out, dropping it. He took his gun and was about to point it at her when she directed one of her screams at him.

The high-pitched sounds also affected the fighting symbiotes below, who let loose and both went down.

With the scream, some parts of the already brittle ceiling fell down and buried both of them. Venom came out from under them faster and surprised Carnage with a pole he had from the scaffolding and rammed it into his chest. Mulligan was on the ground and Shriek took his gun and threw it away. She took an iron chain hanging from the ceiling of the platform above and wrapped it around the left leg. She tugged hard and lifted him. Then she removed the end and crouched down to face him. She pulled out a small knife and made small cuts in him so that he cried out in pain. She laughed maliciously and continued torturing him. Then she fastened the end and squatted down to face him. She pulled out a small knife and inflicted small cuts so that he cried out in pain. She laughed insidiously and continued to torture him.

Venom had rammed the pole into him so deep it was stuck in the ground. He wanted to use this opportunity to get to Anne and Alex. He was already halfway there when Carnage attacked him again from behind. He turned around, but at that moment he was thrown high against the wall, so that he landed on a floor of the scaffolding. Carnage came up to him and yanked him to the ground. The scaffolding barely withstood the strain and shook dangerously, but none of them noticed. Only Dan, who was now moving in the direction of Anne and Alex. He had waited in a corner until the lane was clear. Eddie had taught him this, so that he could help in an emergency without getting hurt.

He reached them and tried to loosen the unusual bonds, when he recalled what Eddie had told him about the weaknesses of the symbionts. He already knew about the frequencies, because he had already been able to separate Eddie and Venom by the tones of the MRI scan. But the fire thing was new to him, so he pulled out a lighter and held it experimentally to Anne's shackles. It actually worked, because the substance burned, unfortunately only slower than expected. But it was only a small lighter. However, when he was almost done, Carnage spotted him and immediately jumped down. He took the scaffolding with him, almost burying himself and Venom under it. Anne was free, but he crawled out and tried to attack her. Venom jumped on him from behind, but Venom threw him away again.

Venom came back and jumped on him, allowing Anne and Dan to flee in the heat of the moment just as more of the ceiling fell to the ground, killing them both otherwise. Alex cried out as a piece rushed straight at her. It was not Venom but Carnage who took her protectively and brought her to the other side of the cathedral. Venom didn't step in and stopped when he saw this. He noticed that Eddie was also very surprised.

Carnage put her down carefully and turned back to Venom. At that moment, screams from Mulligan were heard, echoing around the walls.

Shriek had great fun massacring him with the little knife, but she got tired of it, so she stabbed him square in the chest, but very slowly. Warm blood flowed out and ran down his face. She went downstairs as he would bleed to death slowly and painfully.

Carnage and Venom ran towards each other and fell to the ground while Alex watched. She saw the pain in Venom's eyes when she suddenly noticed a small movement out of the corner of her eye. Her eyes widened when she saw what had moved there. Carnage must have split off a small part of himself, because it was moving straight towards her. She screamed and fled from that thing as best she could with her feet and hands tied.

»VENOM!«, she screamed at the top of her lungs.
